tests: redo test argv file line wrapping Back in commit bd6c46fa0cfe275c24debc1152cfc5206c04b59b Author: Juerg Haefliger <juerg.haefliger@hp.com> Date: Mon Jan 31 06:42:57 2011 -0500 tests: handle backspace-newline pairs in test input files all the test argv files were line wrapped so that the args were less than 80 characters. The way the line wrapping was done turns out to be quite undesirable, because it often leaves multiple parameters on the same line. If we later need to add or remove individual parameters, then it leaves us having to redo line wrapping. This commit changes the line wrapping so that every single "-param value" is one its own new line. If the "value" is still too long, then we break on ',' or ':' or ' ' as needed. This means that when we come to add / remove parameters from the test files line, the patch diffs will only ever show a single line added/removed which will greatly simplify review work. tests: unify qemu binary paths for all qemu related tests Our test data used a lot of different qemu binary paths and some of them were based on downstream systems. qemu: Specify format= iff disk source is not empty Just recently, qemu forbade specifying format for sourceless disks (qemu commit 39c4ae941ed992a3bb5). It kind of makes sense. If there's no file to open, why specify its format. Anyway, I have a domain like this: <disk type='file' device='cdrom'> <driver name='qemu' type='raw'/> <target dev='hda' bus='ide'/> <readonly/> <address type='drive' controller='0' bus='0' target='0' unit='0'/> </disk> and obviously I am unable to start it. qemu: use "ide" as device name for implicit SATA controller on Q35 This resolves https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1008903 The Q35 machinetype has an implicit SATA controller at 00:1F.2 which isn't given the "expected" id of ahci0 by qemu when it's created. The original suggested solution to this problem was to not specify any controller for the disks that use the default controller and just specify "unit=n" instead; qemu should then use the first IDE or SATA controller for the disk. Unfortunately, this "solution" is ignorant of the fact that in the case of SATA disks, the "unit" attribute in the disk XML is actually *not* being used for the unit, but is instead used to specify the "bus" number; each SATA controller has 6 buses, and each bus only allows a single unit. This makes it nonsensical to specify unit='n' where n is anything other than 0. It also means that the only way to connect more than a single device to the implicit SATA controller is to explicitly give the bus names, which happen to be "ide.$n", where $n can be replaced by the disk's "unit" number.

tests: fix some QXL capability combinations that don't make sense If one of QEMU_CAPS_DEVICE_QXL_VGA or QEMU_CAPS_DEVICE_QXL is set the other one will always be set as well because both devices are tied together in QEMU. The change of args files is caused by the presence of capability QEMU_CAPS_DEVICE_VIDEO_PRIMARY which means it's safe to use "-device qxl-vga" instead of "-vga qxl", see commit (e3f2686b) and by the fact that if QEMU_CAPS_VGA_QXL is set QEMU_CAPS_DEVICE_QXL_VGA and QEMU_CAPS_DEVICE_QXL would be set too (since we support only qemu with "-device" option).
