Jovanka Gulicoska fcabc1ca53 Introduce node device lifecycle event APIs
Node device lifecycle event API entry points for registering and
deregistering node deivce events, as well as types of events
associated with node device.
These entry points will be used for implementing asynchronous
lifecycle events.

Node device API:
virConnectNodeDeviceEventRegisterAny
virConnectNodeDeviceEventDeregisterAny
virNodeDeviceEventLifecycleType which has events CREATED and DELETED

Fabian Freyer 01163b1b1f bhyve: implement virConnectDomainXMLFromNative
First, remove escaped newlines and split up the string into an argv-list for
the bhyve and loader commands, respectively. This is done by iterating over the
string splitting it by newlines, and then re-iterating over each line,
splitting it by spaces.

Since this code reuses part of the code of qemu_parse_command.c
(in bhyveCommandLine2argv), add the appropriate copyright notices.

Fabian Freyer b436a8ae5c gnulib: add getopt module
Unconditionally use gnulib's getopt module. This is needed by the bhyve driver
to provide a reentrant interface for getopt.

Several gnulib headers rely on features.h being included by ctype.h to provide
__GNUC_PREREQ, but on systems without glibc, this is not provided. In these
cases __GNUC_PREREQ gets redefined to 0, which causes build errors from checks
in src/internal.h.
Therefore, define __GNUC_PREREQ as early as possible. config-post.h is probably
the first header that is included, before any other headers.

Jim Fehlig fda5a98e9e driver config: Introduce virFirmware object
The virQEMUDriverConfig object contains lists of
loader:nvram pairs to advertise firmwares supported by
by the driver, and qemu_conf.c contains code to populate
the lists, all of which is useful for other drivers too.

To avoid code duplication, introduce a virFirmware object
to encapsulate firmware details and switch the qemu driver
to use it.

Add the functions to add/remove elements from the hashed secret obj list.
These will replace secret_driver functions secretAssignDef and secretObjRemove.

The virSecretObjListAddLocked will perform the necessary lookups and

This includes setting up the configPath and base64Path as well as being
able to support the caller's need to restore from a previous definition
in case something goes wrong in the caller.

Erik Skultety e72667bddf po: fix POTFILES.in file ordering
When it comes to a situation that a new translatable file needs to be added
into the list of files, an automatically generated patch is proposed during
syntax-check. However, the diff was made against a sorted list of files and
the same sorted list of files + the new file that actually needs to be added
into the list. Since we do not keep POTFILES sorted, the proposed patch thus
can't be applied...most of the time - depending on the context.

Erik Skultety 0b231195cb virlog: Refactor virLogParseOutputs
The problem with the original virLogParseOutputs method was that the way it
parsed the input, walking the string char by char and using absolute jumps
depending on the virLogDestination type, was rather complicated to read.
This patch utilizes virStringSplit method twice, first time to filter out any
spaces and split the input to individual log outputs and then for each
individual output to tokenize it by to the parts according to our
PRIORITY:DESTINATION?(:DATA) format. Also, to STREQLEN for matching destination
was replaced with virDestinationTypeFromString call.

Erik Skultety 1a07c2efb3 admin: Introduce adminDaemonConnectListServers API
This API is merely a convenience API, i.e. when managing clients connected to
daemon's servers, we should know (convenience) which server the specific client
is connected to. This implies a client-side representation of a server along
with a basic API to let the administrating client know what servers are actually
available on the daemon.

similar structure to the daemon-side remote driver - dispatchers and

Michal Privoznik 90f3c0d717 conf: Split virDomainObjList into a separate file
Our domain_conf.* files are big enough. Not only they contain XML
parsing code, but they served as a storage of all functions whose
name is virDomain prefixed. This is just wrong as it gathers not
related functions (and modules) into one big file which is then
harder to maintain. Split virDomainObjList module into a separate
file called virdomainobjlist.[ch].

Daniel P. Berrange 37ed422404 logging: add client for virtlogd daemon
Add the virLogManager API which allows for communication with
the virtlogd daemon to RPC program. This provides the client

activation is used instead.

Daniel P. Berrange 19e5db4ae2 logging: introduce log handling protocol
Define a new RPC protocol for the virtlogd daemon that provides
for handling of logs. The initial RPC method defined allows a
client to obtain a file handle to use for writing to a log
file for a guest domain. The file handle passed back will not
actually refer to the log file, but rather an anonymous pipe.
The virtlogd daemon will forward I/O between them, ensuring
file rotation happens when required.

Initially the log setup is hardcoded to cap log files at
128 KB, and keep 3 backups when rolling over, which gives
a max usage of 512 KB per guest.
