   9) Allow offloading u32 classifiers to hardware, and implement for
      ixgbe, from John Fastabend.

  10) Allow configuring IRQ coalescing parameters on a per-queue basis,
      from Kan Liang.

  11) Extend ethtool so that larger link mode masks can be supported.
      From David Decotigny.

  12) Introduce devlink, which can be used to configure port link types
      (ethernet vs Infiniband, etc.), port splitting, and switch device
      level attributes as a whole.  From Jiri Pirko.

  13) Hardware offload support for flower classifiers, from Amir Vadai.

  14) Add "Local Checksum Offload".  Basically, for a tunneled packet
      the checksum of the outer header is 'constant' (because with the
      checksum field filled into the inner protocol header, the payload
      of the outer frame checksums to 'zero'), and we can take advantage

Alexander Duyck 01cfbad79a ipv4: Update parameters for csum_tcpudp_magic to their original types
This patch updates all instances of csum_tcpudp_magic and
csum_tcpudp_nofold to reflect the types that are usually used as the source
inputs.  For example the protocol field is populated based on nexthdr which
is actually an unsigned 8 bit value.  The length is usually populated based
on skb->len which is an unsigned integer.

This addresses an issue in which the IPv6 function csum_ipv6_magic was
generating a checksum using the full 32b of skb->len while
csum_tcpudp_magic was only using the lower 16 bits.  As a result we could
run into issues when attempting to adjust the checksum as there was no
protocol agnostic way to update it.

With this change the value is still truncated as many architectures use
"(len + proto) << 8", however this truncation only occurs for values
greater than 16776960 in length and as such is unlikely to occur as we stop
the inner headers at ~64K in size.

I did have to make a few minor changes in the arm, mn10300, nios2, and
score versions of the function in order to support these changes as they
were either using things such as an OR to combine the protocol and length,
or were using ntohs to convert the length which would have truncated the
value.

I also updated a few spots in terms of whitespace and type differences for
the addresses.  Most of this was just to make sure all of the definitions
were in sync going forward.

Bjorn Helgaas ed07247dbf gpio: Remove unused asm/gpio.h files
asm/gpio.h is included only by linux/gpio.h, and then only when the arch
selects ARCH_HAVE_CUSTOM_GPIO_H.  Only the following arches select it: arm
avr32 blackfin m68k (COLDFIRE only) sh unicore32.

Remove the unused asm/gpio.h files for the arches that do not select
ARCH_HAVE_CUSTOM_GPIO_H.

This is a follow-on to 7563bbf89d ("gpiolib/arches: Centralise
bolierplate asm/gpio.h").

Christoph Hellwig e1c7e32453 dma-mapping: always provide the dma_map_ops based implementation

Michael S. Tsirkin afc22de0c0 metag: define __smp_xxx
This defines __smp_xxx barriers for metag,
for use by virtualization.

smp_xxx barriers are removed as they are
defined correctly by asm-generic/barriers.h

Note: as __smp_XX macros should not depend on CONFIG_SMP, they can not
use the existing fence() macro since that is defined differently between
SMP and !SMP.  For this reason, this patch introduces a wrapper
metag_fence() that doesn't depend on CONFIG_SMP.
fence() is then defined using that, depending on CONFIG_SMP.

Michael S. Tsirkin abe114d9f0 metag: reuse asm-generic/barrier.h
On metag dma_rmb, dma_wmb, smp_store_mb, read_barrier_depends,
smp_read_barrier_depends, smp_store_release and smp_load_acquire  match
the asm-generic variants exactly. Drop the local definitions and pull in
asm-generic/barrier.h instead.

This is in preparation to refactoring this code area.

Pull strscpy string copy function implementation from Chris Metcalf.

Chris sent this during the merge window, but I waffled back and forth on
the pull request, which is why it's going in only now.

The new "strscpy()" function is definitely easier to use and more secure
than either strncpy() or strlcpy(), both of which are horrible nasty
interfaces that have serious and irredeemable problems.

strncpy() has a useless return value, and doesn't NUL-terminate an
overlong result.  To make matters worse, it pads a short result with
zeroes, which is a performance disaster if you have big buffers.

strlcpy(), by contrast, is a mis-designed "fix" for strlcpy(), lacking
the insane NUL padding, but having a differently broken return value
which returns the original length of the source string.  Which means
that it will read characters past the count from the source buffer, and
you have to trust the source to be properly terminated.  It also makes
error handling fragile, since the test for overflow is unnecessarily
subtle.

strscpy() avoids both these problems, guaranteeing the NUL termination
(but not excessive padding) if the destination size wasn't zero, and
making the overflow condition very obvious by returning -E2BIG.  It also
doesn't read past the size of the source, and can thus be used for
untrusted source data too.

So why did I waffle about this for so long?

Every time we introduce a new-and-improved interface, people start doing
these interminable series of trivial conversion patches.

And every time that happens, somebody does some silly mistake, and the
conversion patch to the improved interface actually makes things worse.
Because the patch is mindnumbing and trivial, nobody has the attention
span to look at it carefully, and it's usually done over large swatches
of source code which means that not every conversion gets tested.

So I'm pulling the strscpy() support because it *is* a better interface.
But I will refuse to pull mindless conversion patches.  Use this in
places where it makes sense, but don't do trivial patches to fix things
that aren't actually known to be broken.

Peter Zijlstra 62e8a3258b atomic, arch: Audit atomic_{read,set}()
This patch makes sure that atomic_{read,set}() are at least
{READ,WRITE}_ONCE().

We already had the 'requirement' that atomic_read() should use
ACCESS_ONCE(), and most archs had this, but a few were lacking.
All are now converted to use READ_ONCE().

And, by a symmetry and general paranoia argument, upgrade atomic_set()
to use WRITE_ONCE().

James Hogan 3dce23eb88 metag: Turn irq_ctx_* macros into static inlines
The irq_ctx_init()/irq_ctx_exit() functions are only used for 4KiB
stacks, otherwise they are implemented as an empty macro. To prevent
future bit rottage due to the cpu argument not being type checked,
convert the macros to empty static inline functions.

 I also worked on modifying the ring buffer code for some future
 work, and moved the adding of the timestamp around. One of my changes
 caused a regression, and since other changes were built on top of it
 and already tested, I had to operate a revert of that change. Instead
 of rebasing, this change set has the code that caused a regression
 as well as the code to revert that change without touching the other
 changes that were made on top of it.

Always we use type unsigned long to format the ip address, since the
value of ip address is never the negative.

This patch uses type unsigned long, instead of long, to format the ip
address. The code is more clearly to be viewed by using type unsigned

Laurent Dufour f2abeef9fd mm: clean up per architecture MM hook header files
Commit 2ae416b142 ("mm: new mm hook framework") introduced an empty
header file (mm-arch-hooks.h) for every architecture, even those which
doesn't need to define mm hooks.

As suggested by Geert Uytterhoeven, this could be cleaned through the use
of a generic header file included via each per architecture
asm/include/Kbuild file.

The PowerPC architecture is not impacted here since this architecture has
to defined the arch_remap MM hook.

Chris Metcalf a6e2f029ae Make asm/word-at-a-time.h available on all architectures
Added the x86 implementation of word-at-a-time to the
generic version, which previously only supported big-endian.

Omitted the x86-specific load_unaligned_zeropad(), which in
any case is also not present for the existing BE-only
implementation of a word-at-a-time, and is only used under
CONFIG_DCACHE_WORD_ACCESS.

Added as a "generic-y" to the Kbuilds of all architectures
that didn't previously have it.

Laurent Dufour 2ae416b142 mm: new mm hook framework
CRIU is recreating the process memory layout by remapping the checkpointee
memory area on top of the current process (criu).  This includes remapping
the vDSO to the place it has at checkpoint time.

However some architectures like powerpc are keeping a reference to the
vDSO base address to build the signal return stack frame by calling the
vDSO sigreturn service.  So once the vDSO has been moved, this reference
is no more valid and the signal frame built later are not usable.

This patch serie is introducing a new mm hook framework, and a new
arch_remap hook which is called when mremap is done and the mm lock still
hold.  The next patch is adding the vDSO remap and unmap tracking to the
powerpc architecture.

This patch (of 3):

This patch introduces a new set of header file to manage mm hooks:
- per architecture empty header file (arch/x/include/asm/mm-arch-hooks.h)
- a generic header (include/linux/mm-arch-hooks.h)

The architecture which need to overwrite a hook as to redefine it in its
header file, while architecture which doesn't need have nothing to do.

The default hooks are defined in the generic header and are used in the
case the architecture is not defining it.

In a next step, mm hooks defined in include/asm-generic/mm_hooks.h should
be moved here.

Akinobu Mita ae70a7bbc5 metag: use for_each_sg()
This replaces the plain loop over the sglist array with for_each_sg()
macro which consists of sg_next() function calls.  Since metag doesn't
select ARCH_HAS_SG_CHAIN, it is not necessary to use for_each_sg() in
order to loop over each sg element.  But this can help find problems
with drivers that do not properly initialize their sg tables when
CONFIG_DEBUG_SG is enabled.

Toshi Kani 556269c138 arch/*/io.h: Add ioremap_wt() to all architectures
Add ioremap_wt() to all arch-specific asm/io.h headers which
define ioremap_wc() locally. These headers do not include
<asm-generic/iomap.h>. Some of them include <asm-generic/io.h>,
but ioremap_wt() is defined for consistency since they define
all ioremap_xxx locally.

In all architectures without Write-Through support, ioremap_wt()
is defined indentical to ioremap_nocache().

frv and m68k already have ioremap_writethrough(). On those we
add ioremap_wt() indetical to ioremap_writethrough() and defines
ARCH_HAS_IOREMAP_WT in both architectures.

The ioremap_wt() interface is exported to drivers.

asm/pgtable.h, the _PAGE_CACHEABLE or _PAGE_WR_COMBINE definitions
aren't found, resulting in build errors like the following (in
next-20150323 due to "lib: devres: add a helper function for
ioremap_wc"):

We can't easily include asm/pgtable.h in asm/io.h due to dependency

James Hogan c2996cb29b metag: Fix KSTK_EIP() and KSTK_ESP() macros
The KSTK_EIP() and KSTK_ESP() macros should return the user program
counter (PC) and stack pointer (A0StP) of the given task. These are used
to determine which VMA corresponds to the user stack in
/proc/<pid>/maps, and for the user PC & A0StP in /proc/<pid>/stat.

However for Meta the PC & A0StP from the task's kernel context are used,
resulting in broken output. For example in following /proc/<pid>/maps
output, the 3afff000-3b021000 VMA should be described as the stack:

  # cat /proc/self/maps
  ...
  100b0000-100b1000 rwxp 00000000 00:00 0          [heap]
  3afff000-3b021000 rwxp 00000000 00:00 0

And in the following /proc/<pid>/stat output, the PC is in kernel code
(1074234964 = 0x40078654) and the A0StP is in the kernel heap
(1335981392 = 0x4fa17550):

Fix the definitions of KSTK_EIP() and KSTK_ESP() to use
task_pt_regs(tsk)->ctx rather than (tsk)->thread.kernel_context. This
gets the registers from the user context stored after the thread info at
the base of the kernel stack, which is from the last entry into the
kernel from userland, regardless of where in the kernel the task may
have been interrupted, which results in the following more correct
/proc/<pid>/maps output:

  # cat /proc/self/maps
  ...
  0800b000-08070000 r-xp 00000000 00:02 207        /lib/libuClibc-0.9.34-git.so
  ...

Andy Lutomirski f56141e3e2 all arches, signal: move restart_block to struct task_struct
If an attacker can cause a controlled kernel stack overflow, overwriting
the restart block is a very juicy exploit target.  This is because the
restart_block is held in the same memory allocation as the kernel stack.

Moving the restart block to struct task_struct prevents this exploit by
making the restart_block harder to locate.

Note that there are other fields in thread_info that are also easy
targets, at least on some architectures.

It's also a decent simplification, since the restart code is more or less
identical on all architectures.

Michael S. Tsirkin 9ef8dc161f metag: fix put_user sparse errors
virtio wants to write bitwise types to userspace using put_user.
At the moment this triggers sparse errors, since the value is passed
through an integer.

For example:

	__le32 __user *p;
	__le32 x;
	put_user(x, p);

is safe, but currently triggers a sparse warning.

Fix that up using __force.

This also fixes warnings due to writing a pointer out to
userland.

Note: this does not suppress any useful sparse checks since callers
do a cast (__typeof__(*(ptr))) (x) which in turn forces all the
necessary type checks.

Alexander Duyck 1077fa36f2 arch: Add lightweight memory barriers dma_rmb() and dma_wmb()
There are a number of situations where the mandatory barriers rmb() and
wmb() are used to order memory/memory operations in the device drivers
and those barriers are much heavier than they actually need to be.  For
example in the case of PowerPC wmb() calls the heavy-weight sync
instruction when for coherent memory operations all that is really needed
is an lsync or eieio instruction.

This commit adds a coherent only version of the mandatory memory barriers
rmb() and wmb().  In most cases this should result in the barrier being the
same as the SMP barriers for the SMP case, however in some cases we use a
barrier that is somewhere in between rmb() and smp_rmb().  For example on
ARM the rmb barriers break down as follows:

  dma_rmb() dmb(osh) data memory barrier - outer sharable
  smp_rmb() dmb(ish) data memory barrier - inner sharable

These new barriers are not as safe as the standard rmb() and wmb().
Specifically they do not guarantee ordering between coherent and incoherent
memories.  The primary use case for these would be to enforce ordering of
reads and writes when accessing coherent memory that is shared between the
CPU and a device.

It may also be noted that there is no dma_mb().  Most architectures don't
provide a good mechanism for performing a coherent only full barrier without
resorting to the same mechanism used in mb().  As such there isn't much to
be gained in trying to define such a function.

Alexander Duyck 8a44971841 arch: Cleanup read_barrier_depends() and comments
This patch is meant to cleanup the handling of read_barrier_depends and
smp_read_barrier_depends.  In multiple spots in the kernel headers
read_barrier_depends is defined as "do {} while (0)", however we then go
into the SMP vs non-SMP sections and have the SMP version reference
read_barrier_depends, and the non-SMP define it as yet another empty
do/while.

With this commit I went through and cleaned out the duplicate definitions
and reduced the number of definitions down to 2 per header.  In addition I
moved the 50 line comments for the macro from the x86 and mips headers that
defined it as an empty do/while to those that were actually defining the
macro, alpha and blackfin.
