Impact: New APIs
The old node_to_cpumask/node_to_pcibus returned a cpumask_t: these
return a pointer to a struct cpumask. Part of removing cpumasks from
the stack.
We can also use the new for_each_cpu_and() to avoid a temporary cpumask,
and a gratuitous test in sn_topology_show.

This fixes a regression introduced by 2c6e6db41f
"Minimize per_cpu reservations." That patch incorrectly used information about
what CPUs are possible that was not yet initialized by ACPI. The end result
was that per_cpu structures for offline CPUs were not initialized causing a
NULL pointer reference.
Since we cannot do the full acpi_boot_init() call any earlier, the simplest
fix is to just parse the MADT for SAPIC entries early to find the CPU
info. This should also allow for some cleanup of the code added by the
"Minimize per_cpu reservations". This patch just fixes the regressions, the
cleanup will come in a later patch.

The patch contains Intel IOMMU IA64 specific code. It defines new
machvec dig_vtd, hooks for IOMMU, DMAR table detection, cache line flush
function, etc.
For a generic kernel with CONFIG_DMAR=y, if Intel IOMMU is detected,
dig_vtd is used for machinve vector. Otherwise, kernel falls back to
dig machine vector. Kernel parameter "machvec=dig" or "intel_iommu=off"
can be used to force kernel to boot dig machine vector.

acpi_unregister_gsi() should "undo" what acpi_register_gsi() does.
On systems that have legacy interrupts, acpi_unregister_gsi erroneously calls
iosapci_unregister_intr() which is wrong to do and causes a loud warning.
acpi_unregister_gsi() should just return in these cases.

This attached patch significantly shrinks boot memory allocation on ia64.
It does this by not allocating per_cpu areas for cpus that can never
exist.

nodes.. For the !CONFIG_ACPI I used for_each_possible_cpu().

ACPI tables follow a tree structure in memory.
The root of the tree is the RSDP (Root System Description Pointer).
To find the RSDP, the OS searches for the signature "RSD PTR "
in well known physical memory locations. Then the OS computes
a table checksum to verify that the signature is really part
of a valid table header.
Some systems have a proper signature but an invalid checksum;
followed elsewhere by a proper signature with valid checksum.

Section mismatch: reference to .init.text:acpi_find_rsdp

acpi_get_sysname() needs to call the __init function acpi_find_rsdp, but it

only called from machvec_init() which has __init attribute, so the fix

ACPI 3.0 incorporated the SRAT spec, upping the table version to 2,
and extending the size of the proximity domain from 1-byte to 4-bytes.
This extension was into a reserved field that firmware should
set to 0, but the HP simulator had non-zero values there
resulting in unexpected huge numbers.
So mask the domain down to 8-bits for now.
A more general fix will be to check the table version
supplied by firmware and get paranoid about reserved fields.

Problem description:
We have additional_cpus= option for allocating possible_cpus. But nid
for possible cpus are not fixed at boot time. cpus which is offlined at
boot or cpus which is not on SRAT is not tied to its node. This will
cause panic at cpu onlining.
Usually, pxm_to_nid() mapping is fixed at boot time by SRAT.
But, unfortunately, some system (my system!) do not include
full SRAT table for possible cpus. (Then, I use
additiona_cpus= option.)
For such possible cpus, pxm<->nid should be fixed at
hot-add. We now have acpi_map_pxm_to_node() which is also
used at boot. It's suitable here.

Almost all users of the table addresses from the EFI system table want
physical addresses. So rather than doing the pa->va->pa conversion, just keep
physical addresses in struct efi.
This fixes a DMI bug: the efi structure contained the physical SMBIOS address
on x86 but the virtual address on ia64, so dmi_scan_machine() used ioremap()
on a virtual address on ia64.
This is essentially the same as an earlier patch by Matt Tolentino:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-kernel&m=112130292316281&w=2
except that this changes all table addresses, not just ACPI addresses.
Matt's original patch was backed out because it caused MCAs on HP sx1000
systems. That problem is resolved by the ioremap() attribute checking added
for ia64.

Add support in IA64 acpi for platforms that support more than
256 nodes. Currently, ACPI is limited to 256 nodes because the

Long term, we expect to use ACPI3.0 to support >256 nodes.

"reserved" fields of the ACPI tables. This code is enabled

According to the ACPI spec, the OSPM must ignore the contents of the
Processor Local APIC/SAPIC Affinity Structure in System Resource

in SRAT regardless of the enable flag. This is obviously against the
ACPI spec. This patch fixes this bug.

Have a facility to account for potentially hot-pluggable CPUs. ACPI doesnt
give a determinstic method to find hot-pluggable CPUs. Hence we use 2 methods
to assist.
- BIOS can mark potentially hot-pluggable CPUs as disabled in the MADT tables.
- User can specify the number of hot-pluggable CPUs via parameter
additional_cpus=X
The option is enabled only if ACPI_CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU=y which enables the
physical hotplug option. Without which user can still use logical onlining
and offlining of CPUs by enabling CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU=y
Adds more bits to cpu_possible_map for potentially hot-pluggable cpus.

Current acpi_register_gsi() function has no way to indicate errors to its
callers even though acpi_register_gsi() can fail to register gsi because of
some reasons (out of memory, lack of interrupt vectors, incorrect BIOS, and so
on). As a result, caller of acpi_register_gsi() cannot handle the case that
acpi_register_gsi() fails. I think failure of acpi_register_gsi() should be
handled properly.
This series of patches changes acpi_register_gsi() to return negative value on
error, and also changes callers of acpi_register_gsi() to handle failure of
acpi_register_gsi().
This patch changes the type of return value of acpi_register_gsi() from

o int acpi_register_ioapic(acpi_handle handle, u64 phys_addr,

This new interface is to add a new I/O xAPIC specified by
phys_addr and gsi_base pair. phys_addr is the physical address

git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.
Let it rip!
