Daniel Borkmann 8f2e5ae40e net: sctp: fix information leaks in ulpevent layer
While working on some other SCTP code, I noticed that some
structures shared with user space are leaking uninitialized
stack or heap buffer. In particular, struct sctp_sndrcvinfo
has a 2 bytes hole between .sinfo_flags and .sinfo_ppid that
remains unfilled by us in sctp_ulpevent_read_sndrcvinfo() when
putting this into cmsg. But also struct sctp_remote_error
contains a 2 bytes hole that we don't fill but place into a skb
through skb_copy_expand() via sctp_ulpevent_make_remote_error().

Both structures are defined by the IETF in RFC6458:

* Section 5.3.2. SCTP Header Information Structure:

  The sctp_sndrcvinfo structure is defined below:

  struct sctp_sndrcvinfo {
    uint16_t sinfo_stream;
    uint16_t sinfo_ssn;
    uint16_t sinfo_flags;
    <-- 2 bytes hole  -->
    uint32_t sinfo_ppid;
    uint32_t sinfo_context;
    uint32_t sinfo_timetolive;
    uint32_t sinfo_tsn;
    uint32_t sinfo_cumtsn;
    sctp_assoc_t sinfo_assoc_id;
  };

* 6.1.3. SCTP_REMOTE_ERROR:

  A remote peer may send an Operation Error message to its peer.
  This message indicates a variety of error conditions on an
  association. The entire ERROR chunk as it appears on the wire
  is included in an SCTP_REMOTE_ERROR event. Please refer to the
  SCTP specification [RFC4960] and any extensions for a list of
  possible error formats. An SCTP error notification has the
  following format:

  struct sctp_remote_error {
    uint16_t sre_type;
    uint16_t sre_flags;
    uint32_t sre_length;
    uint16_t sre_error;
    <-- 2 bytes hole  -->
    sctp_assoc_t sre_assoc_id;
    uint8_t  sre_data[];
  };

Fix this by setting both to 0 before filling them out. We also
have other structures shared between user and kernel space in
SCTP that contains holes (e.g. struct sctp_paddrthlds), but we
copy that buffer over from user space first and thus don't need
to care about it in that cases.

While at it, we can also remove lengthy comments copied from
the draft, instead, we update the comment with the correct RFC
number where one can look it up.

Daniel Borkmann 8f61059a96 net: sctp: improve timer slack calculation for transport HBs
RFC4960, section 8.3 says:

  On an idle destination address that is allowed to heartbeat,
  it is recommended that a HEARTBEAT chunk is sent once per RTO
  of that destination address plus the protocol parameter
  'HB.interval', with jittering of +/- 50% of the RTO value,
  and exponential backoff of the RTO if the previous HEARTBEAT
  is unanswered.

Currently, we calculate jitter via sctp_jitter() function first,
and then add its result to the current RTO for the new timeout:

  TMO = RTO + (RAND() % RTO) - (RTO / 2)
              `------------------------^-=> sctp_jitter()

Instead, we can just simplify all this by directly calculating:

  TMO = (RTO / 2) + (RAND() % RTO)

With the help of prandom_u32_max(), we don't need to open code
our own global PRNG, but can instead just make use of the per
CPU implementation of prandom with better quality numbers. Also,
we can now spare us the conditional for divide by zero check
since no div or mod operation needs to be used. Note that
prandom_u32_max() won't emit the same result as a mod operation,
but we really don't care here as we only want to have a random
number scaled into RTO interval.

Note, exponential RTO backoff is handeled elsewhere, namely in
sctp_do_8_2_transport_strike().

Daniel Borkmann 24599e61b7 net: sctp: check proc_dointvec result in proc_sctp_do_auth
When writing to the sysctl field net.sctp.auth_enable, it can well
be that the user buffer we handed over to proc_dointvec() via
proc_sctp_do_auth() handler contains something other than integers.

In that case, we would set an uninitialized 4-byte value from the
stack to net->sctp.auth_enable that can be leaked back when reading
the sysctl variable, and it can unintentionally turn auth_enable
on/off based on the stack content since auth_enable is interpreted
as a boolean.

Fix it up by making sure proc_dointvec() returned sucessfully.

Daniel Borkmann ff5e92c1af net: sctp: propagate sysctl errors from proc_do* properly
sysctl handler proc_sctp_do_hmac_alg(), proc_sctp_do_rto_min() and
proc_sctp_do_rto_max() do not properly reflect some error cases
when writing values via sysctl from internal proc functions such
as proc_dointvec() and proc_dostring().

In all these cases we pass the test for write != 0 and partially
do additional work just to notice that additional sanity checks
fail and we return with hard-coded -EINVAL while proc_do*
functions might also return different errors. So fix this up by
simply testing a successful return of proc_do* right after
calling it.

This also allows to propagate its return value onwards to the user.
While touching this, also fix up some minor style issues.

Daniel Borkmann b58537a1f5 net: sctp: fix permissions for rto_alpha and rto_beta knobs
Commit 3fd091e73b ("[SCTP]: Remove multiple levels of msecs
to jiffies conversions.") has silently changed permissions for
rto_alpha and rto_beta knobs from 0644 to 0444. The purpose of
this was to discourage users from tweaking rto_alpha and
rto_beta knobs in production environments since they are key
to correctly compute rtt/srtt.

RFC4960 under section 6.3.1. RTO Calculation says regarding
rto_alpha and rto_beta under rule C3 and C4:

  [...]
  C3) When a new RTT measurement R' is made, set

       RTTVAR <- (1 - RTO.Beta) * RTTVAR + RTO.Beta * |SRTT - R'|

       and

       SRTT <- (1 - RTO.Alpha) * SRTT + RTO.Alpha * R'

       Note: The value of SRTT used in the update to RTTVAR
       is its value before updating SRTT itself using the
       second assignment. After the computation, update
       RTO <- SRTT + 4 * RTTVAR.

  C4) When data is in flight and when allowed by rule C5
       below, a new RTT measurement MUST be made each round
       trip. Furthermore, new RTT measurements SHOULD be
       made no more than once per round trip for a given
       destination transport address. There are two reasons
       for this recommendation: First, it appears that
       measuring more frequently often does not in practice
       yield any significant benefit [ALLMAN99]; second,
       if measurements are made more often, then the values
       of RTO.Alpha and RTO.Beta in rule C3 above should be
       adjusted so that SRTT and RTTVAR still adjust to
       changes at roughly the same rate (in terms of how many
       round trips it takes them to reflect new values) as
       they would if making only one measurement per
       round-trip and using RTO.Alpha and RTO.Beta as given
       in rule C3. However, the exact nature of these
       adjustments remains a research issue.
  [...]

While it is discouraged to adjust rto_alpha and rto_beta
and not further specified how to adjust them, the RFC also
doesn't explicitly forbid it, but rather gives a RECOMMENDED
default value (rto_alpha=3, rto_beta=2). We have a couple
of users relying on the old permissions before they got
changed. That said, if someone really has the urge to adjust
them, we could allow it with a warning in the log.

Xufeng Zhang d3217b15a1 sctp: Fix sk_ack_backlog wrap-around problem
Consider the scenario:
For a TCP-style socket, while processing the COOKIE_ECHO chunk in
sctp_sf_do_5_1D_ce(), after it has passed a series of sanity check,
a new association would be created in sctp_unpack_cookie(), but afterwards,
some processing maybe failed, and sctp_association_free() will be called to
free the previously allocated association, in sctp_association_free(),
sk_ack_backlog value is decremented for this socket, since the initial
value for sk_ack_backlog is 0, after the decrement, it will be 65535,
a wrap-around problem happens, and if we want to establish new associations
afterward in the same socket, ABORT would be triggered since sctp deem the
accept queue as full.
Fix this issue by only decrementing sk_ack_backlog for associations in
the endpoint's list.

Daniel Borkmann a7288c4dd5 net: sctp: improve sctp_select_active_and_retran_path selection
In function sctp_select_active_and_retran_path(), we walk the
transport list in order to look for the two most recently used
ACTIVE transports (trans_pri, trans_sec). In case we didn't find
anything ACTIVE, we currently just camp on a possibly PF or
INACTIVE transport that is primary path; this behavior actually
dates back to linux-history tree of the very early days of
lksctp, and can yield a behavior that chooses suboptimal
transport paths.

Instead, be a bit more clever by reusing and extending the
recently introduced sctp_trans_elect_best() handler. In case
both transports are evaluated to have the same score resulting
from their states, break the tie by looking at: 1) transport
patch error count 2) last_time_heard value from each transport.

This is analogous to Nishida's Quick Failover draft [1],
section 5.1, 3:

  The sender SHOULD avoid data transmission to PF destinations.
  When all destinations are in either PF or Inactive state,
  the sender MAY either move the destination from PF to active
  state (and transmit data to the active destination) or the
  sender MAY transmit data to a PF destination. In the former
  scenario, (i) the sender MUST NOT notify the ULP about the
  state transition, and (ii) MUST NOT clear the destination's
  error counter. It is recommended that the sender picks the
  PF destination with least error count (fewest consecutive
  timeouts) for data transmission. In case of a tie (multiple PF
  destinations with same error count), the sender MAY choose the
  last active destination.

Thus for sctp_select_active_and_retran_path(), we keep track of
the best, if any, transport that is in PF state and in case no
ACTIVE transport has been found (hence trans_{pri,sec} is NULL),
we select the best out of the three: current primary_path and
retran_path as well as a possible PF transport.

The secondary may still camp on the original primary_path as
before. The change in sctp_trans_elect_best() with a more fine
grained tie selection also improves at the same time path selection
for sctp_assoc_update_retran_path() in case of non-ACTIVE states.

WANG Cong 698365fa18 net: clean up snmp stats code
commit 8f0ea0fe3a (snmp: reduce percpu needs by 50%)
reduced snmp array size to 1, so technically it doesn't have to be
an array any more. What's more, after the following commit:

	commit 933393f58f
	Date:   Thu Dec 22 11:58:51 2011 -0600

	    percpu: Remove irqsafe_cpu_xxx variants

	    We simply say that regular this_cpu use must be safe regardless of
	    preemption and interrupt state. That has no material change for x86
	    and s390 implementations of this_cpu operations. However, arches that
	    do not provide their own implementation for this_cpu operations will
	    now get code generated that disables interrupts instead of preemption.

probably no arch wants to have SNMP_ARRAY_SZ == 2. At least after
almost 3 years, no one complains.

So, just convert the array to a single pointer and remove snmp_mib_init()
and snmp_mib_free() as well.

Xufeng Zhang 8535087131 sctp: reset flowi4_oif parameter on route lookup
commit 813b3b5db8 (ipv4: Use caller's on-stack flowi as-is
in output route lookups.) introduces another regression which
is very similar to the problem of commit e6b45241c (ipv4: reset
flowi parameters on route connect) wants to fix:
Before we call ip_route_output_key() in sctp_v4_get_dst() to
get a dst that matches a bind address as the source address,
we have already called this function previously and the flowi
parameters have been initialized including flowi4_oif, so when
we call this function again, the process in __ip_route_output_key()
will be different because of the setting of flowi4_oif, and we'll
get a networking device which corresponds to the inputted flowi4_oif
as the output device, this is wrong because we'll never hit this
place if the previously returned source address of dst match one
of the bound addresses.

To reproduce this problem, a vlan setting is enough:
  # ifconfig eth0 up
  # route del default
  # vconfig add eth0 2
  # vconfig add eth0 3
  # ifconfig eth0.2 10.0.1.14 netmask 255.255.255.0
  # route add default gw 10.0.1.254 dev eth0.2
  # ifconfig eth0.3 10.0.0.14 netmask 255.255.255.0
  # ip rule add from 10.0.0.14 table 4
  # ip route add table 4 default via 10.0.0.254 src 10.0.0.14 dev eth0.3
  # sctp_darn -H 10.0.0.14 -P 36422 -h 10.1.4.134 -p 36422 -s -I
You'll detect that all the flow are routed to eth0.2(10.0.1.254).

Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt

What happens while auth_enable=0 in that case is, that
ep->auth_hmacs is initialized to NULL in sctp_auth_init_hmacs()
when endpoint is being created.

After that point, if an admin switches over to auth_enable=1,
the machine can crash due to NULL pointer dereference during
reception of an INIT chunk. When we enter sctp_process_init()
via sctp_sf_do_5_1B_init() in order to respond to an INIT chunk,
the INIT verification succeeds and while we walk and process
all INIT params via sctp_process_param() we find that
net->sctp.auth_enable is set, therefore do not fall through,
but invoke sctp_auth_asoc_set_default_hmac() instead, and thus,
dereference what we have set to NULL during endpoint
initialization phase.

The fix is to make auth_enable immutable by caching its value
during endpoint initialization, so that its original value is
being carried along until destruction. The bug seems to originate
from the very first days.

Fix in joint work with Daniel Borkmann.

One fix is to add a new 'struct sock *sk' parameter to ip_queue_xmit(),
so that we do not assume skb->sk points to the socket used by l2tp

David S. Miller 676d23690f net: Fix use after free by removing length arg from sk_data_ready callbacks.
Several spots in the kernel perform a sequence like:

	skb_queue_tail(&sk->s_receive_queue, skb);
	sk->sk_data_ready(sk, skb->len);

But at the moment we place the SKB onto the socket receive queue it
can be consumed and freed up. So this skb->len access is potentially
to freed up memory.

Furthermore, the skb->len can be modified by the consumer so it is
possible that the value isn't accurate.

And finally, no actual implementation of this callback actually uses
the length argument. And since nobody actually cared about it's
value, lots of call sites pass arbitrary values in such as '0' and
even '1'.

So just remove the length argument from the callback, that way there
is no confusion whatsoever and all of these use-after-free cases get
fixed as a side effect.

Based upon a patch by Eric Dumazet and his suggestion to audit this
issue tree-wide.

Daniel Borkmann 1e1cdf8ac7 net: sctp: test if association is dead in sctp_wake_up_waiters
In function sctp_wake_up_waiters(), we need to involve a test
if the association is declared dead. If so, we don't have any
reference to a possible sibling association anymore and need
to invoke sctp_write_space() instead, and normally walk the
socket's associations and notify them of new wmem space. The
reason for special casing is that otherwise, we could run
into the following issue when a sctp_primitive_SEND() call
from sctp_sendmsg() fails, and tries to flush an association's
outq, i.e. in the following way:

sctp_association_free()
`-> list_del(&asoc->asocs)         <-- poisons list pointer
    asoc->base.dead = true
    sctp_outq_free(&asoc->outqueue)
    `-> __sctp_outq_teardown()
     `-> sctp_chunk_free()
      `-> consume_skb()
       `-> sctp_wfree()
        `-> sctp_wake_up_waiters() <-- dereferences poisoned pointers
                                       if asoc->ep->sndbuf_policy=0

Therefore, only walk the list in an 'optimized' way if we find
that the current association is still active. We could also use
list_del_init() in addition when we call sctp_association_free(),
but as Vlad suggests, we want to trap such bugs and thus leave
it poisoned as is.

Why is it safe to resolve the issue by testing for asoc->base.dead?
Parallel calls to sctp_sendmsg() are protected under socket lock,
that is lock_sock()/release_sock(). Only within that path under
lock held, we're setting skb/chunk owner via sctp_set_owner_w().
Eventually, chunks are freed directly by an association still
under that lock. So when traversing association list on destruction
time from sctp_wake_up_waiters() via sctp_wfree(), a different
CPU can't be running sctp_wfree() while another one calls
sctp_association_free() as both happens under the same lock.
Therefore, this can also not race with setting/testing against
asoc->base.dead as we are guaranteed for this to happen in order,
under lock. Further, Vlad says: the times we check asoc->base.dead
is when we've cached an association pointer for later processing.
In between cache and processing, the association may have been
freed and is simply still around due to reference counts. We check
asoc->base.dead under a lock, so it should always be safe to check
and not race against sctp_association_free(). Stress-testing seems
fine now, too.

Daniel Borkmann 52c35befb6 net: sctp: wake up all assocs if sndbuf policy is per socket
SCTP charges chunks for wmem accounting via skb->truesize in
sctp_set_owner_w(), and sctp_wfree() respectively as the
reverse operation. If a sender runs out of wmem, it needs to
wait via sctp_wait_for_sndbuf(), and gets woken up by a call
to __sctp_write_space() mostly via sctp_wfree().

__sctp_write_space() is being called per association. Although
we assign sk->sk_write_space() to sctp_write_space(), which
is then being done per socket, it is only used if send space
is increased per socket option (SO_SNDBUF), as SOCK_USE_WRITE_QUEUE
is set and therefore not invoked in sock_wfree().

Commit 4c3a5bdae2 ("sctp: Don't charge for data in sndbuf
again when transmitting packet") fixed an issue where in case
sctp_packet_transmit() manages to queue up more than sndbuf
bytes, sctp_wait_for_sndbuf() will never be woken up again
unless it is interrupted by a signal. However, a still
remaining issue is that if net.sctp.sndbuf_policy=0, that is
accounting per socket, and one-to-many sockets are in use,
the reclaimed write space from sctp_wfree() is 'unfairly'
handed back on the server to the association that is the lucky
one to be woken up again via __sctp_write_space(), while
the remaining associations are never be woken up again
(unless by a signal).

The effect disappears with net.sctp.sndbuf_policy=1, that
is wmem accounting per association, as it guarantees a fair
share of wmem among associations.

Therefore, if we have reclaimed memory in case of per socket
accounting, wake all related associations to a socket in a
fair manner, that is, traverse the socket association list
starting from the current neighbour of the association and
issue a __sctp_write_space() to everyone until we end up
waking ourselves. This guarantees that no association is
preferred over another and even if more associations are
taken into the one-to-many session, all receivers will get
messages from the server and are not stalled forever on
high load. This setting still leaves the advantage of per
socket accounting in touch as an association can still use
up global limits if unused by others.

Daniel Borkmann 433131ba03 net: sctp: remove NULL check in sctp_assoc_update_retran_path
This is basically just to let Coverity et al shut up. Remove an
unneeded NULL check in sctp_assoc_update_retran_path().

It is safe to remove it, because in sctp_assoc_update_retran_path()
we iterate over the list of transports, our own transport which is
asoc->peer.retran_path included. In the iteration, we skip the
list head element and transports in state SCTP_UNCONFIRMED.

Such transports came from peer addresses received in INIT/INIT-ACK
address parameters. They are not yet confirmed by a heartbeat and
not available for data transfers.

We know however that in the list of transports, even if it contains
such elements, it at least contains our asoc->peer.retran_path as
well, so even if next to that element, we only encounter
SCTP_UNCONFIRMED transports, we are always going to fall back to
asoc->peer.retran_path through sctp_trans_elect_best(), as that is
for sure not SCTP_UNCONFIRMED as per fbdf501c93 ("sctp: Do no
select unconfirmed transports for retransmissions").

Whenever we call sctp_trans_elect_best() it will give us a non-NULL
element back, and therefore when we break out of the loop, we are
guaranteed to have a non-NULL transport pointer, and can remove
the NULL check.

What happens is that commit bbd0d59809 clones the skb containing
the AUTH chunk in sctp_endpoint_bh_rcv() when having the edge case
that an endpoint requires COOKIE-ECHO chunks to be authenticated:

  ---------- INIT[RANDOM; CHUNKS; HMAC-ALGO] ---------->
  <------- INIT-ACK[RANDOM; CHUNKS; HMAC-ALGO] ---------
  ------------------ AUTH; COOKIE-ECHO ---------------->
  <-------------------- COOKIE-ACK ---------------------

When we enter sctp_sf_do_5_1D_ce() and before we actually get to
the point where we process (and subsequently free) a non-NULL
chunk->auth_chunk, we could hit the "goto nomem_init" path from
an error condition and thus leave the cloned skb around w/o
freeing it.

The fix is to centrally free such clones in sctp_chunk_destroy()
handler that is invoked from sctp_chunk_free() after all refs have
dropped; and also move both kfree_skb(chunk->auth_chunk) there,
so that chunk->auth_chunk is either NULL (since sctp_chunkify()
allocs new chunks through kmem_cache_zalloc()) or non-NULL with
a valid skb pointer. chunk->skb and chunk->auth_chunk are the
only skbs in the sctp_chunk structure that need to be handeled.

While at it, we should use consume_skb() for both. It is the same
as dev_kfree_skb() but more appropriately named as we are not
a device but a protocol. Also, this effectively replaces the
kfree_skb() from both invocations into consume_skb(). Functions
are the same only that kfree_skb() assumes that the frame was
being dropped after a failure (e.g. for tools like drop monitor),
usage of consume_skb() seems more appropriate in function
sctp_chunk_destroy() though.

Daniel Borkmann ec0223ec48 net: sctp: fix sctp_sf_do_5_1D_ce to verify if we/peer is AUTH capable
RFC4895 introduced AUTH chunks for SCTP; during the SCTP
handshake RANDOM; CHUNKS; HMAC-ALGO are negotiated (CHUNKS
being optional though):

  ---------- INIT[RANDOM; CHUNKS; HMAC-ALGO] ---------->
  <------- INIT-ACK[RANDOM; CHUNKS; HMAC-ALGO] ---------
  -------------------- COOKIE-ECHO -------------------->
  <-------------------- COOKIE-ACK ---------------------

A special case is when an endpoint requires COOKIE-ECHO
chunks to be authenticated:

  ---------- INIT[RANDOM; CHUNKS; HMAC-ALGO] ---------->
  <------- INIT-ACK[RANDOM; CHUNKS; HMAC-ALGO] ---------
  ------------------ AUTH; COOKIE-ECHO ---------------->
  <-------------------- COOKIE-ACK ---------------------

RFC4895, section 6.3. Receiving Authenticated Chunks says:

  The receiver MUST use the HMAC algorithm indicated in
  the HMAC Identifier field. If this algorithm was not
  specified by the receiver in the HMAC-ALGO parameter in
  the INIT or INIT-ACK chunk during association setup, the
  AUTH chunk and all the chunks after it MUST be discarded
  and an ERROR chunk SHOULD be sent with the error cause
  defined in Section 4.1. [...] If no endpoint pair shared
  key has been configured for that Shared Key Identifier,
  all authenticated chunks MUST be silently discarded. [...]

  When an endpoint requires COOKIE-ECHO chunks to be
  authenticated, some special procedures have to be followed
  because the reception of a COOKIE-ECHO chunk might result
  in the creation of an SCTP association. If a packet arrives
  containing an AUTH chunk as a first chunk, a COOKIE-ECHO
  chunk as the second chunk, and possibly more chunks after
  them, and the receiver does not have an STCB for that
  packet, then authentication is based on the contents of
  the COOKIE-ECHO chunk. In this situation, the receiver MUST
  authenticate the chunks in the packet by using the RANDOM
  parameters, CHUNKS parameters and HMAC_ALGO parameters
  obtained from the COOKIE-ECHO chunk, and possibly a local
  shared secret as inputs to the authentication procedure
  specified in Section 6.3. If authentication fails, then
  the packet is discarded. If the authentication is successful,
  the COOKIE-ECHO and all the chunks after the COOKIE-ECHO
  MUST be processed. If the receiver has an STCB, it MUST
  process the AUTH chunk as described above using the STCB
  from the existing association to authenticate the
  COOKIE-ECHO chunk and all the chunks after it. [...]

Commit bbd0d59809 introduced the possibility to receive
and verification of AUTH chunk, including the edge case for
authenticated COOKIE-ECHO. On reception of COOKIE-ECHO,
the function sctp_sf_do_5_1D_ce() handles processing,
unpacks and creates a new association if it passed sanity
checks and also tests for authentication chunks being
present. After a new association has been processed, it
invokes sctp_process_init() on the new association and
walks through the parameter list it received from the INIT
chunk. It checks SCTP_PARAM_RANDOM, SCTP_PARAM_HMAC_ALGO
and SCTP_PARAM_CHUNKS, and copies them into asoc->peer
meta data (peer_random, peer_hmacs, peer_chunks) in case
sysctl -w net.sctp.auth_enable=1 is set. If in INIT's
SCTP_PARAM_SUPPORTED_EXT parameter SCTP_CID_AUTH is set,
peer_random != NULL and peer_hmacs != NULL the peer is to be
assumed asoc->peer.auth_capable=1, in any other case
asoc->peer.auth_capable=0.

Now, if in sctp_sf_do_5_1D_ce() chunk->auth_chunk is
available, we set up a fake auth chunk and pass that on to
sctp_sf_authenticate(), which at latest in
sctp_auth_calculate_hmac() reliably dereferences a NULL pointer
at position 0..0008 when setting up the crypto key in
crypto_hash_setkey() by using asoc->asoc_shared_key that is
NULL as condition key_id == asoc->active_key_id is true if
the AUTH chunk was injected correctly from remote. This
happens no matter what net.sctp.auth_enable sysctl says.

The fix is to check for net->sctp.auth_enable and for
asoc->peer.auth_capable before doing any operations like
sctp_sf_authenticate() as no key is activated in
sctp_auth_asoc_init_active_key() for each case.

Now as RFC4895 section 6.3 states that if the used HMAC-ALGO
passed from the INIT chunk was not used in the AUTH chunk, we
SHOULD send an error; however in this case it would be better
to just silently discard such a maliciously prepared handshake
as we didn't even receive a parameter at all. Also, as our
endpoint has no shared key configured, section 6.3 says that
MUST silently discard, which we are doing from now onwards.

Before calling sctp_sf_pdiscard(), we need not only to free
the association, but also the chunk->auth_chunk skb, as
commit bbd0d59809 created a skb clone in that case.

I have tested this locally by using netfilter's nfqueue and
re-injecting packets into the local stack after maliciously
modifying the INIT chunk (removing RANDOM; HMAC-ALGO param)
and the SCTP packet containing the COOKIE_ECHO (injecting
AUTH chunk before COOKIE_ECHO). Fixed with this patch applied.

Daniel Borkmann 4c47af4d5e net: sctp: rework multihoming retransmission path selection to rfc4960
Problem statement: 1) both paths (primary path1 and alternate
path2) are up after the association has been established i.e.,
HB packets are normally exchanged, 2) path2 gets inactive after
path_max_retrans * max_rto timed out (i.e. path2 is down completely),
3) now, if a transmission times out on the only surviving/active
path1 (any ~1sec network service impact could cause this like
a channel bonding failover), then the retransmitted packets are
sent over the inactive path2; this happens with partial failover
and without it.

Besides not being optimal in the above scenario, a small failure
or timeout in the only existing path has the potential to cause
long delays in the retransmission (depending on RTO_MAX) until
the still active path is reselected. Further, when the T3-timeout
occurs, we have active_patch == retrans_path, and even though the
timeout occurred on the initial transmission of data, not a
retransmit, we end up updating retransmit path.

RFC4960, section 6.4. "Multi-Homed SCTP Endpoints" states under
6.4.1. "Failover from an Inactive Destination Address" the
following:

  Some of the transport addresses of a multi-homed SCTP endpoint
  may become inactive due to either the occurrence of certain
  error conditions (see Section 8.2) or adjustments from the
  SCTP user.

  When there is outbound data to send and the primary path
  becomes inactive (e.g., due to failures), or where the SCTP
  user explicitly requests to send data to an inactive
  destination transport address, before reporting an error to
  its ULP, the SCTP endpoint should try to send the data to an
  alternate __active__ destination transport address if one
  exists.

  When retransmitting data that timed out, if the endpoint is
  multihomed, it should consider each source-destination address
  pair in its retransmission selection policy. When retransmitting
  timed-out data, the endpoint should attempt to pick the most
  divergent source-destination pair from the original
  source-destination pair to which the packet was transmitted.

  Note: Rules for picking the most divergent source-destination
  pair are an implementation decision and are not specified
  within this document.

So, we should first reconsider to take the current active
retransmission transport if we cannot find an alternative
active one. If all of that fails, we can still round robin
through unkown, partial failover, and inactive ones in the
hope to find something still suitable.

Commit 4141ddc02a ("sctp: retran_path update bug fix") broke
that behaviour by selecting the next inactive transport when
no other active transport was found besides the current assoc's
peer.retran_path. Before commit 4141ddc02a, we would have
traversed through the list until we reach our peer.retran_path
again, and in case that is still in state SCTP_ACTIVE, we would
take it and return. Only if that is not the case either, we
take the next inactive transport.

Besides all that, another issue is that transports in state
SCTP_UNKNOWN could be preferred over transports in state
SCTP_ACTIVE in case a SCTP_ACTIVE transport appears after
SCTP_UNKNOWN in the transport list yielding a weaker transport
state to be used in retransmission.

This patch mostly reverts 4141ddc02a, but also rewrites
this function to introduce more clarity and strictness into
the code. A strict priority of transport states is enforced
in this patch, hence selection is active > unkown > partial
failover > inactive.

Matija Glavinic Pecotic 7cce3b7568 net: sctp: Potentially-Failed state should not be reached from unconfirmed state
In current implementation it is possible to reach PF state from unconfirmed.
We can interpret sctp-failover-02 in a way that PF state is meant to be reached
only from active state, in the end, this is when entering PF state makes sense.
Here are few quotes from sctp-failover-02, but regardless of these, same
understanding can be reached from whole section 5:

Section 5.1, quickfailover guide:
    "The PF state is an intermediate state between Active and Failed states."

    "Each time the T3-rtx timer expires on an active or idle
    destination, the error counter of that destination address will
    be incremented. When the value in the error counter exceeds
    PFMR, the endpoint should mark the destination transport address as PF."

There are several concrete reasons for such interpretation. For start, rfc4960
does not take into concern quickfailover algorithm. Therefore, quickfailover
must comply to 4960. Point where this compliance can be argued is following
behavior:
When PF is entered, association overall error counter is incremented for each
missed HB. This is contradictory to rfc4960, as address, while in unconfirmed
state, is subjected to probing, and while it is probed, it should not increment
association overall error counter. This has as a consequence that we might end
up in situation in which we drop association due path failure on unconfirmed
address, in case we have wrong configuration in a way:
Association.Max.Retrans == Path.Max.Retrans.

Another reason is that entering PF from unconfirmed will cause a loss of address
confirmed event when address is once (if) confirmed. This is fine from failover
guide point of view, but it is not consistent with behavior preceding failover
implementation and recommendation from 4960:

5.4.  Path Verification

Daniel Borkmann ffd5939381 net: sctp: fix sctp_connectx abi for ia32 emulation/compat mode
SCTP's sctp_connectx() abi breaks for 64bit kernels compiled with 32bit
emulation (e.g. ia32 emulation or x86_x32). Due to internal usage of
'struct sctp_getaddrs_old' which includes a struct sockaddr pointer,
sizeof(param) check will always fail in kernel as the structure in
64bit kernel space is 4bytes larger than for user binaries compiled
in 32bit mode. Thus, applications making use of sctp_connectx() won't
be able to run under such circumstances.

Introduce a compat interface in the kernel to deal with such
situations by using a 'struct compat_sctp_getaddrs_old' structure
where user data is copied into it, and then sucessively transformed
into a 'struct sctp_getaddrs_old' structure with the help of
compat_ptr(). That fixes sctp_connectx() abi without any changes
needed in user space, and lets the SCTP test suite pass when compiled
in 32bit and run on 64bit kernels.

Matija Glavinic Pecotic ef2820a735 net: sctp: Fix a_rwnd/rwnd management to reflect real state of the receiver's buffer
Implementation of (a)rwnd calculation might lead to severe performance issues
and associations completely stalling. These problems are described and solution
is proposed which improves lksctp's robustness in congestion state.

1) Sudden drop of a_rwnd and incomplete window recovery afterwards

Data accounted in sctp_assoc_rwnd_decrease takes only payload size (sctp data),
but size of sk_buff, which is blamed against receiver buffer, is not accounted
in rwnd. Theoretically, this should not be the problem as actual size of buffer
is double the amount requested on the socket (SO_RECVBUF). Problem here is
that this will have bad scaling for data which is less then sizeof sk_buff.
E.g. in 4G (LTE) networks, link interfacing radio side will have a large portion
of traffic of this size (less then 100B).

An example of sudden drop and incomplete window recovery is given below. Node B
exhibits problematic behavior. Node A initiates association and B is configured
to advertise rwnd of 10000. A sends messages of size 43B (size of typical sctp
message in 4G (LTE) network). On B data is left in buffer by not reading socket
in userspace.

Lets examine when we will hit pressure state and declare rwnd to be 0 for
scenario with above stated parameters (rwnd == 10000, chunk size == 43, each
chunk is sent in separate sctp packet)

Logic is implemented in sctp_assoc_rwnd_decrease:

socket_buffer (see below) is maximum size which can be held in socket buffer
(sk_rcvbuf). current_alloced is amount of data currently allocated (rx_count)

A simple expression is given for which it will be examined after how many
packets for above stated parameters we enter pressure state:

We start by condition which has to be met in order to enter pressure state:

	socket_buffer < currently_alloced;

currently_alloced is represented as size of sctp packets received so far and not
yet delivered to userspace. x is the number of chunks/packets (since there is no
bundling, and each chunk is delivered in separate packet, we can observe each
chunk also as sctp packet, and what is important here, having its own sk_buff):

	socket_buffer < x*each_sctp_packet;

each_sctp_packet is sctp chunk size + sizeof(struct sk_buff). socket_buffer is
twice the amount of initially requested size of socket buffer, which is in case
of sctp, twice the a_rwnd requested:

	2*rwnd < x*(payload+sizeof(struc sk_buff));

sizeof(struct sk_buff) is 190 (3.13.0-rc4+). Above is stated that rwnd is 10000
and each payload size is 43

	20000 < x(43+190);

	x > 20000/233;

	x ~> 84;

After ~84 messages, pressure state is entered and 0 rwnd is advertised while
received 84*43B ~= 3612B sctp data. This is why external observer notices sudden
drop from 6474 to 0, as it will be now shown in example:

At this point, rwnd_press stores current rwnd value so it can be later restored
in sctp_assoc_rwnd_increase. This however doesn't happen as condition to start
slowly increasing rwnd until rwnd_press is returned to rwnd is never met. This
condition is not met since rwnd, after it hit 0, must first reach rwnd_press by
adding amount which is read from userspace. Let us observe values in above
example. Initial a_rwnd is 10000, pressure was hit when rwnd was ~6500 and the
amount of actual sctp data currently waiting to be delivered to userspace
is ~3500. When userspace starts to read, sctp_assoc_rwnd_increase will be blamed
only for sctp data, which is ~3500. Condition is never met, and when userspace
reads all data, rwnd stays on 3569.

Reproduction is straight forward, it is enough for sender to send packets of
size less then sizeof(struct sk_buff) and receiver keeping them in its buffers.

2) Minute size window for associations sharing the same socket buffer

In case multiple associations share the same socket, and same socket buffer
(sctp.rcvbuf_policy == 0), different scenarios exist in which congestion on one
of the associations can permanently drop rwnd of other association(s).

Situation will be typically observed as one association suddenly having rwnd
dropped to size of last packet received and never recovering beyond that point.
Different scenarios will lead to it, but all have in common that one of the
associations (let it be association from 1)) nearly depleted socket buffer, and
the other association blames socket buffer just for the amount enough to start
the pressure. This association will enter pressure state, set rwnd_press and
announce 0 rwnd.
When data is read by userspace, similar situation as in 1) will occur, rwnd will
increase just for the size read by userspace but rwnd_press will be high enough
so that association doesn't have enough credit to reach rwnd_press and restore
to previous state. This case is special case of 1), being worse as there is, in
the worst case, only one packet in buffer for which size rwnd will be increased.
Consequence is association which has very low maximum rwnd ('minute size', in
our case down to 43B - size of packet which caused pressure) and as such
unusable.

Scenario happened in the field and labs frequently after congestion state (link
breaks, different probabilities of packet drop, packet reordering) and with
scenario 1) preceding. Here is given a deterministic scenario for reproduction:

>From node A establish two associations on the same socket, with rcvbuf_policy
being set to share one common buffer (sctp.rcvbuf_policy == 0). On association 1
repeat scenario from 1), that is, bring it down to 0 and restore up. Observe
scenario 1). Use small payload size (here we use 43). Once rwnd is 'recovered',
bring it down close to 0, as in just one more packet would close it. This has as
a consequence that association number 2 is able to receive (at least) one more
packet which will bring it in pressure state. E.g. if association 2 had rwnd of
10000, packet received was 43, and we enter at this point into pressure,
rwnd_press will have 9957. Once payload is delivered to userspace, rwnd will
increase for 43, but conditions to restore rwnd to original state, just as in
1), will never be satisfied.

A careful reader might wonder why it is necessary to reproduce 1) prior
reproduction of 2). It is simply easier to observe when to send packet over
association 2 which will push association into the pressure state.

Proposed solution:

Both problems share the same root cause, and that is improper scaling of socket
buffer with rwnd. Solution in which sizeof(sk_buff) is taken into concern while
calculating rwnd is not possible due to fact that there is no linear
relationship between amount of data blamed in increase/decrease with IP packet
in which payload arrived. Even in case such solution would be followed,
complexity of the code would increase. Due to nature of current rwnd handling,
slow increase (in sctp_assoc_rwnd_increase) of rwnd after pressure state is
entered is rationale, but it gives false representation to the sender of current
buffer space. Furthermore, it implements additional congestion control mechanism
which is defined on implementation, and not on standard basis.

Proposed solution simplifies whole algorithm having on mind definition from rfc:

o Receiver Window (rwnd): This gives the sender an indication of the space
   available in the receiver's inbound buffer.

Core of the proposed solution is given with these lines:

sctp_assoc_rwnd_update:
	if ((asoc->base.sk->sk_rcvbuf - rx_count) > 0)
		asoc->rwnd = (asoc->base.sk->sk_rcvbuf - rx_count) >> 1;
	else
		asoc->rwnd = 0;

We advertise to sender (half of) actual space we have. Half is in the braces
depending whether you would like to observe size of socket buffer as SO_RECVBUF
or twice the amount, i.e. size is the one visible from userspace, that is,
from kernelspace.
In this way sender is given with good approximation of our buffer space,
regardless of the buffer policy - we always advertise what we have. Proposed
solution fixes described problems and removes necessity for rwnd restoration
algorithm. Finally, as proposed solution is simplification, some lines of code,
along with some bytes in struct sctp_association are saved.

Version 2 of the patch addressed comments from Vlad. Name of the function is set
to be more descriptive, and two parts of code are changed, in one removing the
superfluous call to sctp_assoc_rwnd_update since call would not result in update
of rwnd, and the other being reordering of the code in a way that call to
sctp_assoc_rwnd_update updates rwnd. Version 3 corrected change introduced in v2
in a way that existing function is not reordered/copied in line, but it is
correctly called. Thanks Vlad for suggesting.

In sctp_sysctl_net_register(), we register the sysctl for each

Vlad Yasevich 619a60ee04 sctp: Remove outqueue empty state
The SCTP outqueue structure maintains a data chunks
that are pending transmission, the list of chunks that
are pending a retransmission and a length of data in
flight. It also tries to keep the emtpy state so that
it can performe shutdown sequence or notify user.

The problem is that the empy state is inconsistently
tracked. It is possible to completely drain the queue
without sending anything when using PR-SCTP. In this
case, the empty state will not be correctly state as
report by Jamal Hadi Salim <jhs@mojatatu.com>. This
can cause an association to be perminantly stuck in the
SHUTDOWN_PENDING state.

Additionally, SCTP is incredibly inefficient when setting
the empty state. Even though all the data is availaible
in the outqueue structure, we ignore it and walk a list
of trasnports.

In the end, we can completely remove the extra empty
state and figure out if the queue is empty by looking
at 3 things: length of pending data, length of in-flight
data, and exisiting of retransmit data. All of these
are already in the strucutre.

Neil Horman 94f65193ab SCTP: Reduce log spamming for sctp setsockopt
During a recent discussion regarding some sctp socket options, it was noted that
we have several points at which we issue log warnings that can be flooded at an
unbounded rate by any user. Fix this by converting all the pr_warns in the
sctp_setsockopt path to be pr_warn_ratelimited.

Note there are several debug level messages as well. I'm leaving those alone,
as, if you turn on pr_debug, you likely want lots of verbosity.

====================
pull request (net-next): ipsec-next 2013-12-19

1) Use the user supplied policy index instead of a generated one
   if present. From Fan Du.

2) Make xfrm migration namespace aware. From Fan Du.

3) Make the xfrm state and policy locks namespace aware. From Fan Du.

4) Remove ancient sleeping when the SA is in acquire state,
   we now queue packets to the policy instead. This replaces the
   sleeping code.

5) Remove FLOWI_FLAG_CAN_SLEEP. This was used to notify xfrm about the
   posibility to sleep. The sleeping code is gone, so remove it.

6) Check user specified spi for IPComp. Thr spi for IPcomp is only
   16 bit wide, so check for a valid value. From Fan Du.

7) Export verify_userspi_info to check for valid user supplied spi ranges
   with pfkey and netlink. From Fan Du.

8) RFC3173 states that if the total size of a compressed payload and the IPComp
   header is not smaller than the size of the original payload, the IP datagram
   must be sent in the original non-compressed form. These packets are dropped
   by the inbound policy check because they are not transformed. Document the need
   to set 'level use' for IPcomp to receive such packets anyway. From Fan Du.

Please pull or let me know if there are problems.

Neil Horman 9f70f46bd4 sctp: properly latch and use autoclose value from sock to association
Currently, sctp associations latch a sockets autoclose value to an association
at association init time, subject to capping constraints from the max_autoclose
sysctl value. This leads to an odd situation where an application may set a
socket level autoclose timeout, but sliently sctp will limit the autoclose
timeout to something less than that.

Fix this by modifying the autoclose setsockopt function to check the limit, cap
it and warn the user via syslog that the timeout is capped. This will allow
getsockopt to return valid autoclose timeout values that reflect what subsequent
associations actually use.

While were at it, also elimintate the assoc->autoclose variable, it duplicates
whats in the timeout array, which leads to multiple sources for the same
information, that may differ (as the former isn't subject to any capping). This
gives us the timeout information in a canonical place and saves some space in
the association structure as well.

Linus Torvalds 1ee2dcc224 Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Pull networking fixes from David Miller:
 "Mostly these are fixes for fallout due to merge window changes, as
  well as cures for problems that have been with us for a much longer
  period of time"

 1) Johannes Berg noticed two major deficiencies in our genetlink
    registration. Some genetlink protocols we passing in constant
    counts for their ops array rather than something like
    ARRAY_SIZE(ops) or similar. Also, some genetlink protocols were
    using fixed IDs for their multicast groups.

    We have to retain these fixed IDs to keep existing userland tools
    working, but reserve them so that other multicast groups used by
    other protocols can not possibly conflict.

    In dealing with these two problems, we actually now use less state
    management for genetlink operations and multicast groups.

 2) When configuring interface hardware timestamping, fix several
    drivers that simply do not validate that the hwtstamp_config value
    is one the driver actually supports. From Ben Hutchings.

 3) Invalid memory references in mwifiex driver, from Amitkumar Karwar.

 4) In dev_forward_skb(), set the skb->protocol in the right order
    relative to skb_scrub_packet(). From Alexei Starovoitov.

 5) Bridge erroneously fails to use the proper wrapper functions to make
    calls to netdev_ops->ndo_vlan_rx_{add,kill}_vid. Fix from Toshiaki
    Makita.

 6) When detaching a bridge port, make sure to flush all VLAN IDs to
    prevent them from leaking, also from Toshiaki Makita.

 7) Put in a compromise for TCP Small Queues so that deep queued devices
    that delay TX reclaim non-trivially don't have such a performance
    decrease. One particularly problematic area is 802.11 AMPDU in
    wireless.  From Eric Dumazet.

 8) Fix crashes in tcp_fastopen_cache_get(), we can see NULL socket dsts
    here. Fix from Eric Dumzaet, reported by Dave Jones.

 9) Fix use after free in ipv6 SIT driver, from Willem de Bruijn.

    Rissanen.

14) macvlan has the same issue as normal vlans did wrt. propagating LRO
    disabling down to the real device, fix it the same way. From Michal
    Kubecek.

15) CPSW driver needs to soft reset all slaves during suspend, from
    Daniel Mack.

16) Fix small frame pacing in FQ packet scheduler, from Eric Dumazet.

17) The xen-netfront RX buffer refill timer isn't properly scheduled on
    partial RX allocation success, from Ma JieYue.

18) When ipv6 ping protocol support was added, the AF_INET6 protocol
    initialization cleanup path on failure was borked a little. Fix
    from Vlad Yasevich.

19) If a socket disconnects during a read/recvmsg/recvfrom/etc that
    blocks we can do the wrong thing with the msg_name we write back to

Chang Xiangzhong d30a58ba2e net: sctp: bug-fixing: retran_path not set properly after transports recovering (v3)
When a transport recovers due to the new coming sack, SCTP should
iterate all of its transport_list to locate the __two__ most recently used
transport and set to active_path and retran_path respectively. The exising
code does not find the two properly - In case of the following list:

[most-recent] -> [2nd-most-recent] -> ...

Both active_path and retran_path would be set to the 1st element.

The bug happens when:
1) multi-homing
2) failure/partial_failure transport recovers
Both active_path and retran_path would be set to the same most-recent one, in
other words, retran_path would not take its role - an end user might not even

In drivers/net/netconsole.c we had one change adjusting a printk message

Lastly, the emulex change was a new inline function addition overlapping

However, we better remove the BUG_ON for now and find a more

  tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1: prio bands 2 priomap 1 1 1 1 1 1
  tc qdisc add dev eth0 parent 1:2 handle 20: netem loss 20%
  tc filter add dev eth0 protocol ip parent 1: prio 2 u32 match ip \
            protocol 132 0xff match u8 0x0b 0xff at 32 flowid 1:2

This drops 20% of COOKIE-ACK packets. After some follow-up
discussion with Vlad we came to the conclusion that for now we
should still better remove this BUG_ON() assertion, and come up
with two follow-ups later on, that is, i) find a more suitable
place for this assertion, and possibly ii) have a special
allocator/initializer for such kind of temporary assocs.

Daniel Borkmann e6d8b64b34 net: sctp: fix and consolidate SCTP checksumming code
This fixes an outstanding bug found through IPVS, where SCTP packets
with skb->data_len > 0 (non-linearized) and empty frag_list, but data
accumulated in frags[] member, are forwarded with incorrect checksum
letting SCTP initial handshake fail on some systems. Linearizing each
SCTP skb in IPVS to prevent that would not be a good solution as
this leads to an additional and unnecessary performance penalty on
the load-balancer itself for no good reason (as we actually only want
to update the checksum, and can do that in a different/better way
presented here).

The actual problem is elsewhere, namely, that SCTP's checksumming
in sctp_compute_cksum() does not take frags[] into account like
skb_checksum() does. So while we are fixing this up, we better reuse
the existing code that we have anyway in __skb_checksum() and use it
for walking through the data doing checksumming. This will not only
fix this issue, but also consolidates some SCTP code with core
sk_buff code, bringing it closer together and removing respectively
avoiding reimplementation of skb_checksum() for no good reason.

As crc32c() can use hardware implementation within the crypto layer,
we leave that intact (it wraps around / falls back to e.g. slice-by-8
algorithm in __crc32c_le() otherwise); plus use the __crc32c_le_combine()
combinator for crc32c blocks.

Also, we remove all other SCTP checksumming code, so that we only
have to use sctp_compute_cksum() from now on; for doing that, we need
to transform SCTP checkumming in output path slightly, and can leave
the rest intact.

implemented possible use of IPv4 addresses with non SCTP_ADDR_SRC state
as source address when sending ASCONF (ADD) packets, but IPv6 part for

Eric Dumazet efe4208f47 ipv6: make lookups simpler and faster
TCP listener refactoring, part 4 :

To speed up inet lookups, we moved IPv4 addresses from inet to struct
sock_common

Now is time to do the same for IPv6, because it permits us to have fast
lookups for all kind of sockets, including upcoming SYN_RECV.

Getting IPv6 addresses in TCP lookups currently requires two extra cache
lines, plus a dereference (and memory stall).

inet6_sk(sk) does the dereference of inet_sk(__sk)->pinet6

This patch is way bigger than its IPv4 counter part, because for IPv4,
we could add aliases (inet_daddr, inet_rcv_saddr), while on IPv6,
it's not doable easily.

inet6_sk(sk)->daddr becomes sk->sk_v6_daddr
inet6_sk(sk)->rcv_saddr becomes sk->sk_v6_rcv_saddr

And timewait socket also have tw->tw_v6_daddr & tw->tw_v6_rcv_saddr
at the same offset.

We get rid of INET6_TW_MATCH() as INET6_MATCH() is now the generic
macro.

Daniel Borkmann 3f96a53211 net: sctp: rfc4443: do not report ICMP redirects to user space
Adapt the same behaviour for SCTP as present in TCP for ICMP redirect
messages. For IPv6, RFC4443, section 2.4. says:

  ...
  (e) An ICMPv6 error message MUST NOT be originated as a result of
      receiving the following:
  ...
       (e.2) An ICMPv6 redirect message [IPv6-DISC].
  ...

Therefore, do not report an error to user space, just invoke dst's redirect
callback and leave, same for IPv4 as done in TCP as well. The implication
w/o having this patch could be that the reception of such packets would
generate a poll notification and in worst case it could even tear down the
whole connection. Therefore, stop updating sk_err on redirects.

Daniel Borkmann 95ee62083c net: sctp: fix ipv6 ipsec encryption bug in sctp_v6_xmit
Alan Chester reported an issue with IPv6 on SCTP that IPsec traffic is not
being encrypted, whereas on IPv4 it is. Setting up an AH + ESP transport
does not seem to have the desired effect:

SCTP + IPv4:

  22:14:20.809645 IP (tos 0x2,ECT(0), ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto AH (51), length 116)
    192.168.0.2 > 192.168.0.5: AH(spi=0x00000042,sumlen=16,seq=0x1): ESP(spi=0x00000044,seq=0x1), length 72
  22:14:20.813270 IP (tos 0x2,ECT(0), ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto AH (51), length 340)
    192.168.0.5 > 192.168.0.2: AH(spi=0x00000043,sumlen=16,seq=0x1):

SCTP + IPv6:

  22:31:19.215029 IP6 (class 0x02, hlim 64, next-header SCTP (132) payload length: 364)
    fe80::222:15ff:fe87:7fc.3333 > fe80::92e6:baff:fe0d:5a54.36767: sctp
    1) [INIT ACK] [init tag: 747759530] [rwnd: 62464] [OS: 10] [MIS: 10]

Moreover, Alan says:

  This problem was seen with both Racoon and Racoon2. Other people have seen
  this with OpenSwan. When IPsec is configured to encrypt all upper layer
  protocols the SCTP connection does not initialize. After using Wireshark to
  follow packets, this is because the SCTP packet leaves Box A unencrypted and
  Box B believes all upper layer protocols are to be encrypted so it drops
  this packet, causing the SCTP connection to fail to initialize. When IPsec
  is configured to encrypt just SCTP, the SCTP packets are observed unencrypted.

In fact, using `socat sctp6-listen:3333 -` on one end and transferring "plaintext"
string on the other end, results in cleartext on the wire where SCTP eventually
does not report any errors, thus in the latter case that Alan reports, the
non-paranoid user might think he's communicating over an encrypted transport on
SCTP although he's not (tcpdump ... -X):

  ...
  0x0030: 5d70 8e1a 0003 001a 177d eb6c 0000 0000  ]p.......}.l....
  0x0040: 0000 0000 706c 6169 6e74 6578 740a 0000  ....plaintext...

Only in /proc/net/xfrm_stat we can see XfrmInTmplMismatch increasing on the
receiver side. Initial follow-up analysis from Alan's bug report was done by
Alexey Dobriyan. Also thanks to Vlad Yasevich for feedback on this.

SCTP has its own implementation of sctp_v6_xmit() not calling inet6_csk_xmit().
This has the implication that it probably never really got updated along with
changes in inet6_csk_xmit() and therefore does not seem to invoke xfrm handlers.

SCTP's IPv4 xmit however, properly calls ip_queue_xmit() to do the work. Since
a call to inet6_csk_xmit() would solve this problem, but result in unecessary
route lookups, let us just use the cached flowi6 instead that we got through
sctp_v6_get_dst(). Since all SCTP packets are being sent through sctp_packet_transmit(),
we do the route lookup / flow caching in sctp_transport_route(), hold it in
tp->dst and skb_dst_set() right after that. If we would alter fl6->daddr in
sctp_v6_xmit() to np->opt->srcrt, we possibly could run into the same effect
of not having xfrm layer pick it up, hence, use fl6_update_dst() in sctp_v6_get_dst()
instead to get the correct source routed dst entry, which we assign to the skb.

Also source address routing example from 625034113 ("sctp: fix sctp to work with
ipv6 source address routing") still works with this patch! Nevertheless, in RFC5095
it is actually 'recommended' to not use that anyway due to traffic amplification [1].
So it seems we're not supposed to do that anyway in sctp_v6_xmit(). Moreover, if
we overwrite the flow destination here, the lower IPv6 layer will be unable to
put the correct destination address into IP header, as routing header is added in
ipv6_push_nfrag_opts() but then probably with wrong final destination. Things aside,
result of this patch is that we do not have any XfrmInTmplMismatch increase plus on
the wire with this patch it now looks like:

SCTP + IPv6:

  08:17:47.074080 IP6 2620:52:0:102f:7a2b:cbff:fe27:1b0a > 2620:52:0:102f:213:72ff:fe32:7eba:
    AH(spi=0x00005fb4,seq=0x1): ESP(spi=0x00005fb5,seq=0x1), length 72
  08:17:47.074264 IP6 2620:52:0:102f:213:72ff:fe32:7eba > 2620:52:0:102f:7a2b:cbff:fe27:1b0a:
    AH(spi=0x00003d54,seq=0x1): ESP(spi=0x00003d55,seq=0x1), length 296

This fixes Kernel Bugzilla 24412. This security issue seems to be present since
2.6.18 kernels. Lets just hope some big passive adversary in the wild didn't have
its fun with that. lksctp-tools IPv6 regression test suite passes as well with
this patch.

Daniel Borkmann 88362ad8f9 net: sctp: fix smatch warning in sctp_send_asconf_del_ip
This was originally reported in [1] and posted by Neil Horman [2], he said:

  Fix up a missed null pointer check in the asconf code. If we don't find
  a local address, but we pass in an address length of more than 1, we may
  dereference a NULL laddr pointer. Currently this can't happen, as the only
  users of the function pass in the value 1 as the addrcnt parameter, but
  its not hot path, and it doesn't hurt to check for NULL should that ever
  be the case.

The callpath from sctp_asconf_mgmt() looks okay. But this could be triggered
from sctp_setsockopt_bindx() call with SCTP_BINDX_REM_ADDR and addrcnt > 1
while passing all possible addresses from the bind list to SCTP_BINDX_REM_ADDR
so that we do *not* find a single address in the association's bind address
list that is not in the packed array of addresses. If this happens when we
have an established association with ASCONF-capable peers, then we could get
a NULL pointer dereference as we only check for laddr == NULL && addrcnt == 1
and call later sctp_make_asconf_update_ip() with NULL laddr.

BUT: this actually won't happen as sctp_bindx_rem() will catch such a case
and return with an error earlier. As this is incredably unintuitive and error
prone, add a check to catch at least future bugs here. As Neil says, its not
hot path. Introduced by 8a07eb0a5 ("sctp: Add ASCONF operation on the
single-homed host").

Alexander Sverdlin c08751c851 net: sctp: Fix data chunk fragmentation for MTU values which are not multiple of 4
net: sctp: Fix data chunk fragmentation for MTU values which are not multiple of 4

Initially the problem was observed with ipsec, but later it became clear that
SCTP data chunk fragmentation algorithm has problems with MTU values which are
not multiple of 4. Test program was used which just transmits 2000 bytes long
packets to other host. tcpdump was used to observe re-fragmentation in IP layer
after SCTP already fragmented data chunks.

With MTU 1500:
12:54:34.082904 IP (tos 0x2,ECT(0), ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto SCTP (132), length 1500)

With MTU 1499:
13:02:49.955220 IP (tos 0x2,ECT(0), ttl 64, id 48215, offset 0, flags [+], proto SCTP (132), length 1492)

Here problem in data portion limit calculation leads to re-fragmentation in IP,
which is sub-optimal. The problem is max_data initial value, which doesn't take
into account the fact, that data chunk must be padded to 4-bytes boundary.
It's enough to correct max_data, because all later adjustments are correctly
aligned to 4-bytes boundary.

After the fix is applied, everything is fragmented correctly for uneven MTUs:
15:16:27.083881 IP (tos 0x2,ECT(0), ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto SCTP (132), length 1496)
    10.151.38.153.53417 > 10.151.24.91.54321: sctp (1) [DATA] (B) [TSN: 3077098183] [SID: 0] [SSEQ 1] [PPID 0x0]
15:16:27.083907 IP (tos 0x2,ECT(0), ttl 64, id 0, offset 0, flags [DF], proto SCTP (132), length 600)
    10.151.38.153.53417 > 10.151.24.91.54321: sctp (1) [DATA] (E) [TSN: 3077098184] [SID: 0] [SSEQ 1] [PPID 0x0]

The bug was there for years already, but
 - is a performance issue, the packets are still transmitted
 - doesn't show up with default MTU 1500, but possibly with ipsec (MTU 1438)

This is a follow-up commit for commit b1dcdc68b1 ("net: tcp_probe:

advanced SCTP probe module filtering based on skb mark (for a more
detailed description and advantages using mark, refer to b1dcdc68b1).
The current option to filter by a given port is still being preserved.

Daniel Borkmann 771085d6bf net: sctp: sctp_transport_destroy{, _rcu}: fix potential pointer corruption
Probably this one is quite unlikely to be triggered, but it's more safe
to do the call_rcu() at the end after we have dropped the reference on
the asoc and freed sctp packet chunks. The reason why is because in
sctp_transport_destroy_rcu() the transport is being kfree()'d, and if
we're unlucky enough we could run into corrupted pointers. Probably
that's more of theoretical nature, but it's safer to have this simple fix.

Introduced by commit 8c98653f ("sctp: sctp_close: fix release of bindings

fan.du d27fc78208 sctp: Don't lookup dst if transport dst is still valid
When sctp sits on IPv6, sctp_transport_dst_check pass cookie as ZERO,
as a result ip6_dst_check always fail out. This behaviour makes
transport->dst useless, because every sctp_packet_transmit must look
for valid dst.

Add a dst_cookie into sctp_transport, and set the cookie whenever we
get new dst for sctp_transport. So dst validness could be checked
against it.

Since I have split genid for IPv4 and IPv6, also delete/add IPv6 address
will also bump IPv6 genid. So issues we discussed in:

Daniel Borkmann 8c2f414ad1 net: sctp: confirm route during forward progress
This fix has been proposed originally by Vlad Yasevich. He says:

  When SCTP makes forward progress (receives a SACK that acks new chunks,
  renegs, or answeres 0-window probes) or when HB-ACK arrives, mark
  the route as confirmed so we don't unnecessarily send NUD probes.

Having a simple SCTP client/server that exchange data chunks every 1sec,
without this patch ARP requests are sent periodically every 40-60sec.
With this fix applied, an ARP request is only done once right at the
"session" beginning. Also, when clearing the related ARP cache entry
manually during the session, a new request is correctly done. I have
only "backported" this to net-next and tested that it works, so full
credit goes to Vlad.

Yann Droneaud 8a59bd3e9b sctp: use get_unused_fd_flags(0) instead of get_unused_fd()
Macro get_unused_fd() is used to allocate a file descriptor with
default flags. Those default flags (0) can be "unsafe":
O_CLOEXEC must be used by default to not leak file descriptor
across exec().

Instead of macro get_unused_fd(), functions anon_inode_getfd()
or get_unused_fd_flags() should be used with flags given by userspace.
If not possible, flags should be set to O_CLOEXEC to provide userspace
with a default safe behavor.

In a further patch, get_unused_fd() will be removed so that
new code start using anon_inode_getfd() or get_unused_fd_flags()
with correct flags.

This patch replaces calls to get_unused_fd() with equivalent call to
get_unused_fd_flags(0) to preserve current behavor for existing code.

The hard coded flag value (0) should be reviewed on a per-subsystem basis,
and, if possible, set to O_CLOEXEC.

Daniel Borkmann bb33381d0c net: sctp: rework debugging framework to use pr_debug and friends
We should get rid of all own SCTP debug printk macros and use the ones
that the kernel offers anyway instead. This makes the code more readable
and conform to the kernel code, and offers all the features of dynamic
debbuging that pr_debug() et al has, such as only turning on/off portions
of debug messages at runtime through debugfs. The runtime cost of having
CONFIG_DYNAMIC_DEBUG enabled, but none of the debug statements printing,
is negligible [1]. If kernel debugging is completly turned off, then these
statements will also compile into "empty" functions.

While we're at it, we also need to change the Kconfig option as it /now/
only refers to the ifdef'ed code portions in outqueue.c that enable further
debugging/tracing of SCTP transaction fields. Also, since SCTP_ASSERT code
was enabled with this Kconfig option and has now been removed, we
transform those code parts into WARNs resp. where appropriate BUG_ONs so
that those bugs can be more easily detected as probably not many people
have SCTP debugging permanently turned on.

To turn on all SCTP debugging, the following steps are needed:

 # mount -t debugfs none /sys/kernel/debug
 # echo -n 'module sctp +p' > /sys/kernel/debug/dynamic_debug/control

This can be done more fine-grained on a per file, per line basis and others
as described in [2].

Daniel Borkmann 52db882f3f net: sctp: migrate cookie life from timeval to ktime
Currently, SCTP code defines its own timeval functions (since timeval
is rarely used inside the kernel by others), namely tv_lt() and
TIMEVAL_ADD() macros, that operate on SCTP cookie expiration.

We might as well remove all those, and operate directly on ktime
structures for a couple of reasons: ktime is available on all archs;
complexity of ktime calculations depending on the arch is less than
(reduces to a simple arithmetic operations on archs with
BITS_PER_LONG == 64 or CONFIG_KTIME_SCALAR) or equal to timeval

	drivers/net/xen-netback/netback.c
	net/batman-adv/bat_iv_ogm.c
	net/wireless/nl80211.c

The ath9k Kconfig conflict was a change of a Kconfig option name right
next to the deletion of another option.

The xen-netback conflict was overlapping changes involving the
handling of the notify list in xen_netbk_rx_action().

Batman conflict resolution provided by Antonio Quartulli, basically
keep everything in both conflict hunks.

The nl80211 conflict is a little more involved. In 'net' we added a
dynamic memory allocation to nl80211_dump_wiphy() to fix a race that
Linus reported. Meanwhile in 'net-next' the handlers were converted
to use pre and post doit handlers which use a flag to determine
whether to hold the RTNL mutex around the operation.

However, the dump handlers to not use this logic. Instead they have
to explicitly do the locking. There were apparent bugs in the
conversion of nl80211_dump_wiphy() in that we were not dropping the
RTNL mutex in all the return paths, and it seems we very much should
be doing so. So I fixed that whilst handling the overlapping changes.

To simplify the initial returns, I take the RTNL mutex after we try
to allocate 'tb'.

It's only used at this one time, so we could remove it as well.
This is valid and also makes it more explicit/obvious that in case

While this currently cannot trigger any NULL pointer dereference in
sctp_seq_dump_local_addrs(), better change the order of commands to
prevent a future bug to happen. Although we first add SCTP_CMD_NEW_ASOC
and then set the SCTP_CMD_INIT_CHOOSE_TRANSPORT, it is okay for now,
since this primitive is only called by sctp_connect() or sctp_sendmsg()
with sctp_assoc_add_peer() set first. However, lets do this precaution
and first set the transport and then add it to the association hashlist
to prevent in future something to possibly triggering this.

Daniel Borkmann f9e42b8535 net: sctp: sideeffect: throw BUG if primary_path is NULL
This clearly states a BUG somewhere in the SCTP code as e.g. fixed once
in f28156335 ("sctp: Use correct sideffect command in duplicate cookie
handling"). If this ever happens, throw a trace in the sideeffect engine
where assocs clearly must have a primary_path assigned.

When in sctp_seq_dump_local_addrs() also throw a WARN and bail out since
we do not need to panic for printing this one asterisk. Also, it will
avoid the not so obvious case when primary != NULL test passes and at a
later point in time triggering a NULL ptr dereference caused by primary.
While at it, also fix up the white space.

Neil Horman c5c7774d7e sctp: fully initialize sctp_outq in sctp_outq_init
In commit 2f94aabd9f
(refactor sctp_outq_teardown to insure proper re-initalization)
we modified sctp_outq_teardown to use sctp_outq_init to fully re-initalize the
outq structure. Steve West recently asked me why I removed the q->error = 0
initalization from sctp_outq_teardown. I did so because I was operating under
the impression that sctp_outq_init would properly initalize that value for us,
but it doesn't. sctp_outq_init operates under the assumption that the outq
struct is all 0's (as it is when called from sctp_association_init), but using
it in __sctp_outq_teardown violates that assumption. We should do a memset in
sctp_outq_init to ensure that the entire structure is in a known state there
instead.

---[ end trace e0d71ec1108c1dd9 ]---

I did not hit this with the lksctp-tools functional tests, but with a
small, multi-threaded test program, that heavily allocates, binds,
listens and waits in accept on sctp sockets, and then randomly kills
some of them (no need for an actual client in this case to hit this).
Then, again, allocating, binding, etc, and then killing child processes.

This panic then only occurs when ``echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/sctp/auth_enable''
is set. The cause for that is actually very simple: in sctp_endpoint_init()
we enter the path of sctp_auth_init_hmacs(). There, we try to allocate
our crypto transforms through crypto_alloc_hash(). In our scenario,
it then can happen that crypto_alloc_hash() fails with -EINTR from
crypto_larval_wait(), thus we bail out and release the socket via
sk_common_release(), sctp_destroy_sock() and hit the NULL pointer
dereference as soon as we try to access members in the endpoint during
sctp_endpoint_free(), since endpoint at that time is still NULL. Now,
if we have that case, we do not need to do any cleanup work and just
leave the destruction handler.

Dilip Daya f406c8b969 sctp: Add buffer utilization fields to /proc/net/sctp/assocs
sctp: Add buffer utilization fields to /proc/net/sctp/assocs

This patch adds the following fields to /proc/net/sctp/assocs output:

	- sk->sk_wmem_alloc as "wmema"	(transmit queue bytes committed)
	- sk->sk_wmem_queued as "wmemq"	(persistent queue size)
	- sk->sk_sndbuf as "sndbuf"	(size of send buffer in bytes)
	- sk->sk_rcvbuf as "rcvbuf"	(size of receive buffer in bytes)

When small DATA chunks containing 136 bytes data are sent the TX_QUEUE
(assoc->sndbuf_used) reaches a maximum of 40.9% of sk_sndbuf value when
peer.rwnd = 0. This was diagnosed from sk_wmem_alloc value reaching maximum
value of sk_sndbuf.

TX_QUEUE (assoc->sndbuf_used), sk_wmem_alloc and sk_wmem_queued values are
incremented in sctp_set_owner_w() for outgoing data chunks. Having access to
the above values in /proc/net/sctp/assocs will provide a better understanding
of SCTP buffer management.

With patch applied, example output when peer.rwnd = 0

Daniel Borkmann ff2266cddd net: sctp: remove sctp_ep_common struct member 'malloced'
There is actually no need to keep this member in the structure, because
after init it's always 1 anyway, thus always kfree called. This seems to
be an ancient leftover from the very initial implementation from 2.5
times. Only in case the initialization of an association fails, we leave
base.malloced as 0, but we nevertheless kfree it in the error path in
sctp_association_new().

Keller, Jacob E 7d4c04fc17 net: add option to enable error queue packets waking select
Currently, when a socket receives something on the error queue it only wakes up
the socket on select if it is in the "read" list, that is the socket has
something to read. It is useful also to wake the socket if it is in the error
list, which would enable software to wait on error queue packets without waking
up for regular data on the socket. The main use case is for receiving
timestamped transmit packets which return the timestamp to the socket via the
error queue. This enables an application to select on the socket for the error
queue only instead of for the regular traffic.

Vlad Yasevich f281563350 sctp: Use correct sideffect command in duplicate cookie handling
When SCTP is done processing a duplicate cookie chunk, it tries
to delete a newly created association. For that, it has to set
the right association for the side-effect processing to work.
However, when it uses the SCTP_CMD_NEW_ASOC command, that performs
more work then really needed (like hashing the associationa and
assigning it an id) and there is no point to do that only to
delete the association as a next step. In fact, it also creates
an impossible condition where an association may be found by
the getsockopt() call, and that association is empty. This
causes a crash in some sctp getsockopts.

The solution is rather simple. We simply use SCTP_CMD_SET_ASOC
command that doesn't have all the overhead and does exactly
what we need.

Lee A. Roberts d003b41b80 sctp: fix association hangs due to partial delivery errors
In sctp_ulpq_tail_data(), use return values 0,1 to indicate whether
a complete event (with MSG_EOR set) was delivered. A return value
of -ENOMEM continues to indicate an out-of-memory condition was
encountered.

In sctp_ulpq_retrieve_partial() and sctp_ulpq_retrieve_first(),
correct message reassembly logic for SCTP partial delivery.
Change logic to ensure that as much data as possible is sent
with the initial partial delivery and that following partial
deliveries contain all available data.

In sctp_ulpq_partial_delivery(), attempt partial delivery only
if the data on the head of the reassembly queue is at or before
the cumulative TSN ACK point.

In sctp_ulpq_renege(), use the modified return values from
sctp_ulpq_tail_data() to choose whether to attempt partial
delivery or to attempt to drain the reassembly queue as a
means to reduce memory pressure. Remove call to
sctp_tsnmap_mark(), as this is handled correctly in call to
sctp_ulpq_tail_data().

Sasha Levin b67bfe0d42 hlist: drop the node parameter from iterators
I'm not sure why, but the hlist for each entry iterators were conceived

        list_for_each_entry(pos, head, member)

The hlist ones were greedy and wanted an extra parameter:

        hlist_for_each_entry(tpos, pos, head, member)

Why did they need an extra pos parameter? I'm not quite sure. Not only
they don't really need it, it also prevents the iterator from looking
exactly like the list iterator, which is unfortunate.

Besides the semantic patch, there was some manual work required:

 - Fix up the actual hlist iterators in linux/list.h
 - Fix up the declaration of other iterators based on the hlist ones.
 - A very small amount of places were using the 'node' parameter, this
 was modified to use 'obj->member' instead.
 - Coccinelle didn't handle the hlist_for_each_entry_safe iterator
 properly, so those had to be fixed up manually.

The semantic patch which is mostly the work of Peter Senna Tschudin is here:

removing proc entries of netns. if we want to remove
some proc entries which under /proc/net/stat/, we still
need to call remove_proc_entry.

this patch use remove_proc_entry to replace proc_net_remove.
we can remove proc_net_remove after this patch.

Daniel Borkmann e9c0dfbaa2 net: sctp: sctp_v6_get_dst: fix boolean test in dst cache
We walk through the bind address list and try to get the best source
address for a given destination. However, currently, we take the
'continue' path of the loop when an entry is invalid (!laddr->valid)
*and* the entry state does not equal SCTP_ADDR_SRC (laddr->state !=
SCTP_ADDR_SRC).

Thus, still, invalid entries with SCTP_ADDR_SRC might not 'continue'
as well as valid entries with SCTP_ADDR_{NEW, SRC, DEL}, with a possible
false baddr and matchlen as a result, causing in worst case dst route
to be false or possibly NULL.

This test should actually be a '||' instead of '&&'. But lets fix it
and make this a bit easier to read by having the condition the same way
as similarly done in sctp_v4_get_dst.

In sctp_auth_make_key_vector, we allocate a temporary sctp_auth_bytes

Change this to sctp_auth_create_key as it is the case everywhere else,

it easier for future code changes in the structure and allocator itself,
since a single API is consistently used for this purpose. Also, by

Daniel Borkmann 8c98653f05 sctp: sctp_close: fix release of bindings for deferred call_rcu's
It seems due to RCU usage, i.e. within SCTP's address binding list,
a, say, ``behavioral change'' was introduced which does actually
not conform to the RFC anymore. In particular consider the following
(fictional) scenario to demonstrate this:

  do:
    Two SOCK_SEQPACKET-style sockets are opened (S1, S2)
    S1 is bound to 127.0.0.1, port 1024 [server]
    S2 is bound to 127.0.0.1, port 1025 [client]
    listen(2) is invoked on S1
    From S2 we call one sendmsg(2) with msg.msg_name and
       msg.msg_namelen parameters set to the server's
       address
    S1, S2 are closed
    goto do

The first pass of this loop passes successful, while the second round
fails during binding of S1 (address still in use). What is happening?
In the first round, the initial handshake is being done, and, at the
time close(2) is called on S1, a non-graceful shutdown is performed via
ABORT since in S1's receive queue an unprocessed packet is present,
thus stating an error condition. This can be considered as a correct
behavior.

During close also all bound addresses are freed, thus nothing *must*
be active anymore. In reference to RFC2960:

  After checking the Verification Tag, the receiving endpoint shall
  remove the association from its record, and shall report the
  termination to its upper layer. (9.1 Abort of an Association)

Also, no half-open states are supported, thus after an ungraceful
shutdown, we leave nothing behind. However, this seems not to be
happening though. In a real-world scenario, this is exactly where
it breaks the lksctp-tools functional test suite, *for instance*:

  ./test_sockopt
  test_sockopt.c  1 PASS : getsockopt(SCTP_STATUS) on a socket with no assoc
  test_sockopt.c  2 PASS : getsockopt(SCTP_STATUS)
  test_sockopt.c  3 PASS : getsockopt(SCTP_STATUS) with invalid associd
  test_sockopt.c  4 PASS : getsockopt(SCTP_STATUS) with NULL associd
  test_sockopt.c 5 BROK : bind: Address already in use

The underlying problem is that sctp_endpoint_destroy() hasn't been
triggered yet while the next bind attempt is being done. It will be
triggered eventually (but too late) by sctp_transport_destroy_rcu()
after one RCU grace period:

  sctp_transport_destroy()
    sctp_transport_destroy_rcu() ----.
      sctp_association_put() [*]  <--+--> sctp_packet_free()
        sctp_association_destroy()          [...]
          sctp_endpoint_put()                 skb->destructor
            sctp_endpoint_destroy()             sctp_wfree()
              sctp_bind_addr_free()               sctp_association_put() [*]

Thus, we move out the condition with sctp_association_put() as well as
the sctp_packet_free() invocation and the issue can be solved. We also
better free the SCTP chunks first before putting the ref of the association.

With this patch, the example above (which simulates a similar scenario
as in the implementation of this test case) and therefore also the test
suite run successfully through. Tested by myself.

Xufeng Zhang 9839ff0dea sctp: set association state to established in dupcook_a handler
While sctp handling a duplicate COOKIE-ECHO and the action is
'Association restart', sctp_sf_do_dupcook_a() will processing
the unexpected COOKIE-ECHO for peer restart, but it does not set
the association state to SCTP_STATE_ESTABLISHED, so the association
could stuck in SCTP_STATE_SHUTDOWN_PENDING state forever.
This violates the sctp specification:
  RFC 4960 5.2.4. Handle a COOKIE ECHO when a TCB Exists
  Action
  A) In this case, the peer may have restarted. .....
     After this, the endpoint shall enter the ESTABLISHED state.

To resolve this problem, adding a SCTP_CMD_NEW_STATE cmd to the
command list before SCTP_CMD_REPLY cmd, this will set the restart
association to SCTP_STATE_ESTABLISHED state properly and also avoid
I-bit being set in the DATA chunk header when COOKIE_ACK is bundled

all the data on an outq during a re-initalization of the corresponding
