Andrey Konovalov 4fdfae8d8f drm/radeon: untag user pointers in radeon_gem_userptr_ioctl
This patch is a part of a series that extends kernel ABI to allow to pass
tagged user pointers (with the top byte set to something else other than
0x00) as syscall arguments.

In radeon_gem_userptr_ioctl() an MMU notifier is set up with a (tagged)
userspace pointer. The untagged address should be used so that MMU
notifiers for the untagged address get correctly matched up with the right
BO. This funcation also calls radeon_ttm_tt_pin_userptr(), which uses
provided user pointers for vma lookups, which can only by done with
untagged pointers.

This patch untags user pointers in radeon_gem_userptr_ioctl().

Linus Torvalds 84da111de0 hmm related patches for 5.4
This is more cleanup and consolidation of the hmm APIs and the very
strongly related mmu_notifier interfaces. Many places across the tree
using these interfaces are touched in the process. Beyond that a cleanup
to the page walker API and a few memremap related changes round out the
 series:

 - General improvement of hmm_range_fault() and related APIs, more
documentation, bug fixes from testing, API simplification &
   consolidation, and unused API removal

 - Simplify the hmm related kconfigs to HMM_MIRROR and DEVICE_PRIVATE, and
   make them internal kconfig selects

 - Hoist a lot of code related to mmu notifier attachment out of drivers by
using a refcount get/put attachment idiom and remove the convoluted
   mmu_notifier_unregister_no_release() and related APIs.

 - General API improvement for the migrate_vma API and revision of its only
   user in nouveau

 - Annotate mmu_notifiers with lockdep and sleeping region debugging

Two series unrelated to HMM or mmu_notifiers came along due to
 dependencies:

 - Allow pagemap's memremap_pages family of APIs to work without providing
   a struct device

 - Make walk_page_range() and related use a constant structure for function
   pointers

Hans de Goede 9dbc88d013 drm/radeon: Bail earlier when radeon.cik_/si_support=0 is passed
Bail from the pci_driver probe function instead of from the drm_driver
load function.

This avoid /dev/dri/card0 temporarily getting registered and then
unregistered again, sending unwanted add / remove udev events to
userspace.

Specifically this avoids triggering the (userspace) bug fixed by this
plymouth merge-request:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/plymouth/plymouth/merge_requests/59

Note that despite that being an userspace bug, not sending unnecessary
udev events is a good idea in general.

Jason Gunthorpe 534e5f84b7 drm/radeon: use mmu_notifier_get/put for struct radeon_mn
radeon is using a device global hash table to track what mmu_notifiers
have been registered on struct mm. This is better served with the new
get/put scheme instead.

radeon has a bug where it was not blocking notifier release() until all
the BO's had been invalidated. This could result in a use after free of
pages the BOs. This is tied into a second bug where radeon left the
notifiers running endlessly even once the interval tree became
empty. This could result in a use after free with module unload.

Both are fixed by changing the lifetime model, the BOs exist in the
interval tree with their natural lifetimes independent of the mm_struct
lifetime using the get/put scheme. The release runs synchronously and just
does invalidate_start across the entire interval tree to create the
required DMA fence.

Additions to the interval tree after release are already impossible as
only current->mm is used during the add.

Use dma_set_mask_and_coherent to set both masks in one go, and remove

Jia-Ju Bai f3eb9b8f67 gpu: drm: radeon: Fix a possible null-pointer dereference in radeon_connector_set_property()
In radeon_connector_set_property(), there is an if statement on line 743
to check whether connector->encoder is NULL:
    if (connector->encoder)

When connector->encoder is NULL, it is used on line 755:
    if (connector->encoder->crtc)

Thus, a possible null-pointer dereference may occur.

To fix this bug, connector->encoder is checked before being used.

This bug is found by a static analysis tool STCheck written by us.

Daniel Vetter c549da2d21 drm/radeon: Fill out gem_object->resv
That way we can ditch our gem_prime_res_obj implementation. Since ttm
absolutely needs the right reservation object all the boilerplate is
already there and we just have to wire it up correctly.

Note that gem/prime doesn't care when we do this, as long as we do it
before the bo is registered and someone can call the handle2fd ioctl
on it.

Aside: ttm_buffer_object.ttm_resv could probably be ditched in favour
of always passing a non-NULL resv to ttm_bo_init(). At least for gem
drivers that would avoid having two of these, on in ttm_buffer_object
and the other in drm_gem_object, one just there for confusion.

- Make drm.h compile on GNU/kFreeBSD by including stdint.h

with some fixes to the new API on top.

drm: Remove users of drm_format_info_plane_cpp
drm_format_info_plane_cpp() basically just returns the cpp array content

the array directly

drm/fourcc: Pass the format_info pointer to drm_format_plane_cpp
So far, the drm_format_plane_cpp function was operating on the format's
fourcc and was doing a lookup to retrieve the drm_format_info structure and
return the cpp.

However, this is inefficient since in most cases, we will have the
drm_format_info pointer already available so we shouldn't have to perform a
new lookup. Some drm_fourcc functions also already operate on the
drm_format_info pointer for that reason, so the API is quite inconsistent
there.

Let's follow the latter pattern and remove the extra lookup while being a
bit more consistent. In order to be extra consistent, also rename that
function to drm_format_info_plane_cpp and to a static function in the
header to match the current policy.

Daniel Vetter 8782c647ae drm/fbdev: Make skip_vt_switch the default
KMS drivers really should all be able to restore their display state
on resume without fbcon helping out. So make this the default.

Since I'm not entirely foolish, make it only a default, which drivers
can still override. That way when the inevitable regression report
happens I can fix things up with a one-liner plus FIXME comment that
someone should fix up the suspend/resume code in that driver.

But at least all new drivers won't be broken by accident as soon as
you turn off fbcon because "suspend/resume worked when I tested it".
