net: smc91x: use run-time configuration on all ARM machines
The smc91x driver traditionally gets configured at compile-time for whichever hardware it runs on. This no longer works on ARM as we continue to move to building all-in-one kernels. Most ARM configurations with this driver already use run-time configuration through DT or through platform_data, but a few have not been converted yet. I've checked all ARM boards that use this driver in their legacy board files, and converted the ones that were using compile-time configuration in smc91x.h to behave like the other ones and provide the interrupt polarity along with the MMIO configuration (width, stride) at platform device creation time. In particular, these combinations were previously selectable in Kconfig but in fact broken: - sa1100 assabet plus pleb - msm combined with any other armv6/v7 platform - pxa-idp combined with any non-DMA pxa variant - LogicPD PXA270 combined with any other pxa - nomadik combined with any other armv4/v5 platform, e.g. versatile. None of these seem critical enough to warrant a backport to stable, but it would be nice to clean this up for good. arm: realview: specify PMU types
Now that we can specify which PMU variant we're likely to deal with, do so in the realview board code. This will allow us to split the ARMv6, ARMv7, and XScale PMU drivers. The Realview EB may be used with ARMv6 or ARMv7 CPUs, but luckily there's only a single ARMv7 CPU, so we can match that explicitly to determine whether or not we have an ARMv7 PMU. ARM: realview: basic device tree implementation
This implements basic device tree boot support for the RealView platforms, with a basic device tree for ARM PB1176 as an example. The implementation is done with a new DT-specific board file using only pre-existing bindings for the basic IRQ, timer and serial port drivers. A new compatible type is added to the GIC for the ARM1176. This implementation uses the MFD syscon handle from day one to access the system controller registers, and register the devices using the SoC bus. ARM: SoC cleanups for 3.17
This merge window brings a good size of cleanups on various
platforms. Among the bigger ones:
* Removal of Samsung s5pc100 and s5p64xx platforms. Both of these have
lacked active support for quite a while, and after asking around nobody
showed interest in keeping them around. If needed, they could be
resurrected in the future but it's more likely that we would prefer
reintroduction of them as DT and multiplatform-enabled platforms
instead.
* OMAP4 controller code register define diet. They defined a lot of registers
that were never actually used, etc.
* Move of some of the Tegra platform code (PMC, APBIO, fuse, powergate)
to drivers/soc so it can be shared with 64-bit code. This also converts them
over to traditional driver models where possible.
* Removal of legacy gpio-samsung driver, since the last users have been
removed (moved to pinctrl)
Plus a bunch of smaller changes for various platforms that sort of
dissapear in the diffstat for the above. clps711x cleanups, shmobile
header file refactoring/moves for multiplatform friendliness, some misc
cleanups, etc.

ARM: 8113/1: remove remaining definitions of PLAT_PHYS_OFFSET from <mach/memory.h>
The platforms selecting NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H defined the start address of their physical memory in the respective <mach/memory.h>. With ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT=y (which is quite common today) this is useless though because the definition isn't used but determined dynamically. So remove the definitions from all <mach/memory.h> and provide the Kconfig symbol PHYS_OFFSET with the respective defaults in case ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT isn't enabled. This allows to drop the dependency of PHYS_OFFSET on !NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H which prevents compiling an integrator nommu-kernel. (CONFIG_PAGE_OFFSET which has "default PHYS_OFFSET if !MMU" expanded to "0x" because CONFIG_PHYS_OFFSET doesn't exist as INTEGRATOR selects NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H.) video: move Versatile CLCD helpers
This moves the Versatile-specific helper code and panel database down into the drivers/video folder next to the CLCD driver itself, preserving the config symbol but also moving the header to platform data. This is necessary to rid the Integrator of this final <plat/*> inclusion dependency and get us one less user of the plat-versatile folder. ARM: plat-versatile: convert LEDs to platform device
The LEDs were initialized unconditionally with an fs_initcall() which doesn't play well with multiplatform. Convert the driver to a platform device and convert all boards with these LEDs to register a platform device and pass the register as a resource instead. ARM: drop <mach/timex.h> for !ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM, too
While <mach/timex.h> isn't used for multi-platform builds since long it still is for "normal" builds. As the previous patches fix all sites to not make use of this per-platform file, it can go now for good also for platforms that are not (yet) converted to multi-platform. This branch contains code cleanups, moves and removals for 3.12.
There's a large number of various cleanups, and a nice net removal of
13500 lines of code.
Highlights worth mentioning are:
- A series of patches from Stephen Boyd removing the ARM local timer API.
- Move of Qualcomm MSM IOMMU code to drivers/iommu.
- Samsung PWM driver cleanups from Tomasz Figa, removing legacy PWM driver
and switching over to the drivers/pwm one.
- Removal of some unusued auto-generated headers for OMAP2+ (PRM/CM).
There's also a move of a header file out of include/linux/i2c/ to
platform_data, where it really belongs. It touches mostly ARM platform
code for include changes so we took it through our tree.

Now that we have a generic arch hook for broadcast we can remove the local
timer API entirely. ARM: Push selects for TWD/SCU into machine entries
The TWD and SCU configs are selected by default as long as MSM_SCORPIONMP is false and/or MCT is false. Implementing the logic this way certainly saves lines in the Kconfig but it precludes those machines which select MSM_SCORPIONMP or MCT from participating in the single zImage effort because when those machines are combined with other SMP capable machines the TWD and SCU are no longer selected by default. Push the select out to the machine entries so that we can compile these machines together and still select the appropriate configs. A large number of cleanups, all over the platforms. This is dominated largely by the Samsung platforms (s3c, s5p, exynos) and a few of the others moving code out of arch/arm into more appropriate subsystems. The clocksource and irqchip drivers are now abstracted to the point where platforms that are already cleaned up do not need to even specify the driver they use, it can all get configured from the device tree as we do for normal device drivers. The clocksource changes basically touch every single platform in the process. We further clean up the use of platform specific header files here, with the goal of turning more of the platforms over to being "multiplatform" enabled, which implies that they cannot expose their headers to architecture independent code any more. It is expected that no functional changes are part of the cleanup. Initial irqchip init infrastructure and GIC and VIC clean-ups
This creates irqchip initialization infrastructure from Thomas Petazzoni. The VIC and GIC irqchip code is moved to drivers/irqchips and adapted to use the new infrastructure. ARM: delete struct sys_timer
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This is a pet peeve of mine. Any time there's a long list of items
(header file inclusions, kconfig entries, array initalisers, etc) and
someone wants to add a new item, they *always* go and stick it at the
end of the list.
Guys, don't do this. Either put the new item into a randomly-chosen
position or, probably better, alphanumerically sort the list.

This is a pretty significant branch. It's the introduction of the
first multiplatform support on ARM, and with this (and the later
branch) merged, it is now possible to build one kernel that contains
support for highbank, vexpress, mvebu, socfpga, and picoxcell. More
platforms will be convered over in the next few releases.
Two critical last things had to be done for this to be practical and
possible:
* Today each platform has its own include directory under
mach-<mach>/include/mach/*, and traditionally that is where a lot of
driver/platform shared definitions have gone, such as platform data
structures. They now need to move out to a common location instead,
and this branch moves a large number of those out to
include/linux/platform_data.
* Each platform used to list the device trees to compile for its
boards in mach-<mach>/Makefile.boot.
Both of the above changes will mean that there are some merge
conflicts to come (and some to resolve here). It's a one-time move and
once it settles in, we should be good for quite a while. Sorry for the

ARM: soc: general cleanups
This is a large branch that contains a handful of different cleanups:
- Fixing up the I/O space remapping on PCI on ARM. This is a series
from Rob Herring that restructures how all pci devices allocate I/O
space, and it's part of the work to allow multiplatform kernels.
- A number of cleanup series for OMAP, moving and removing some
headers, sparse irq rework and in general preparation for
multiplatform.
- Final removal of all non-DT boards for Tegra, it is now
device-tree-only!
- Removal of a stale platform, nxp4008. It's an old mobile chipset
that is no longer in use, and was very likely never really used with
a mainline kernel. We have not been able to find anyone interested
in keeping it around in the kernel.
- Removal of the legacy dmaengine driver on tegra

Enable initial ARM multi-platform support for highbank, mvebu,

ARM: make mach/gpio.h headers optional
Most platforms don't need mach/gpio.h and it prevents multi-platform kernel images. Add CONFIG_NEED_MACH_GPIO_H and make platforns select it if they need gpio.h. This is platforms that define __GPIOLIB_COMPLEX or have lots of implicit includes pulled in by mach/gpio.h. at91 and omap have gpio clean-up pending and can drop CONFIG_NEED_MACH_GPIO_H once that is in. ARM: consolidate pen_release instead of having per platform definitions
Almost each SMP platform defines pen_release to manage booting secondary CPUs. This of course clashes with the single zImage effort. Add the pen_release definition to the ARM SMP code, and remove all others. This should only be used by platforms which lack any kind of CPU power management... clk: convert ARM RealView to common clk
This converts the ARM RealView machine over to using the common clock. The approach is similar to the one used for the Integrator, and we're reusing the ICST wrapper code. We have to put the clock intialization in the timer init function for the clocks to be available when initializing the timer, keeping them in early_init() is too early for the common clk. Since we now have to go down and compile drivers/clk/versatile a CONFIG_COMMON_CLK_VERSATILE symbol has been added so the proper code gets compiled into the kernel for either machine. A leftover CLK_VERSATILE in the Integrator Kconfig was fixed up to use the new symbol as well. Tested on ARM RealView PB1176. ARM: pmu: remove arm_pmu_type enumeration
The arm_pmu_type enumeration was initially introduced to identify different PMU types in the system, the usual one being that on the CPU (ARM_PMU_DEVICE_CPU). With the removal of the PMU reservation code and the introduction of devicetree bindings for the CPU PMU, the enumeration is no longer required. This patch removes the enumeration and updates the various CPU PMU platform devices so that they no longer pass an .id field referring to identify the PMU type. ARM: mach-realview and mach-versatile: retire custom LED code
This replaces the custom LED trigger code in mach-realview with some overarching platform code for the plat-versatile family that will lock down LEDs 2 thru 5 for CPU activity indication. The day we have 8 core ARM systems the plat-versatile code will have to become more elaborate. Tested on RealView PB11MPCore by invoking four different CPU hogs (yes > /dev/null&) and see the LEDs go on one at a time. They all go off as the hogs are killed. Tested on the PB1176 as well - just one activity led (led 2) goes on and off with CPU activity.
