Linus Torvalds 4d26aa3054 ARM: arm-soc non-critical fixes for 3.10
Here is a collection of fixes (and some intermixed cleanups) that were
 considered less important and thus not included in the later parts of
 the 3.9-rc cycle.

 It's a bit all over the map, contents wise. A series of ux500 fixes
 and cleanups, a bunch of various fixes for OMAP and tegra, and some for
 Freescale i.MX and even Qualcomm MSM.

 Note that there's also a patch on this branch to globally turn off
 -Wmaybe-uninitialized when building with -Os. It's been posted several
 times by Arnd and no dissent was raised, but nobody seemed interested
 to pick it up. So here it is, as the topmost patch.

Tony Lindgren f9368c18e9 ARM: OMAP1: Replace PM debug create_proc_read_entry() with debugfs
There's no need to keep this entry in proc, it is PM
related debug only entry. Let's move it into debugfs.

Based on an earlier patch David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com>
to use seq_printf and to update to use create_proc_read_entry().

Aaro Koskinen 0345a1e339 ARM: OMAP1: fix omap_udc registration
omap_udc platform device is not registered properly anymore:
CONFIG_USB_GADGET_OMAP was deleted by 193ab2a6 (usb: gadget: allow
multiple gadgets to be built) already in v3.1.

Fix by using CONFIG_USB_OMAP instead. Tested on Nokia 770 by checking
that omap_udc is probed & working properly when built as a module.

Aaro Koskinen 13872ebb91 ARM: OMAP1: fix USB host on 1710
There is a long-standing bug that OHCI USB host controller does
not respond on 1710, because of wrong clock definitions. See e.g.
http://marc.info/?l=linux-omap&m=119634441229321&w=2. All register reads
return just zeroes:

[ 1.896606] ohci ohci: OMAP OHCI
[ 1.912597] ohci ohci: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1
[    1.933776] ohci ohci: irq 38, io mem 0xfffba000
[    2.012573] ohci ohci: init err (00000000 0000)
[    2.030334] ohci ohci: can't start
[    2.046661] ohci ohci: startup error -75
[ 2.063201] ohci ohci: USB bus 1 deregistered

After some experiments, it seems that when changing the usb_dc_ck /
SOFT_REQ enable bit from USB_REQ_EN_SHIFT to SOFT_USB_OTG_DPLL_REQ_SHIFT
(like done also on 7XX), the USB appears to work:

[ 2.183959] ohci ohci: OMAP OHCI
[ 2.198242] ohci ohci: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1
[    2.215820] ohci ohci: irq 38, io mem 0xfffba000
[    2.324798] hub 1-0:1.0: USB hub found
[    2.361267] hub 1-0:1.0: 3 ports detected

The patch is tested on Nokia 770.

Tony Lindgren 0adcbaf78f ARM: OMAP1: Fix build related to kgdb.h no longer including serial_8250.h
Commit 16559ae4 (kgdb: remove #include <linux/serial_8250.h> from kgdb.h)
had a side effect of breaking omap1_defconfig build as some headers
were included indirectly:

arch/arm/mach-omap1/board-h2.c:249: error: ‘INT_KEYBOARD’ undeclared here (not in a function)
...

This worked earlier as linux/serial_8250.h included linux/serial_core.h,
via linux/serial_8250.h from linux/kgdb.h. Fix this by including the
necessary headers directly.

Linus Torvalds 3298a3511f arm-soc: multiplatform support
Converting more ARM platforms to multiplatform support. This time, OMAP
 gets converted, which is a major step since this is by far the largest
 platform in terms of code size. The same thing happens to the vt8500

   elsewhere can be discarded now.
 * Moving the OMAP4 irq_match array has context clashes with turning
   omap4_sar_ram_init into an omap_early_initcall()

From Shawn Guo:
The series cleans up ARCH_HAS_DECOMP_WDOG and arch_decomp_wdog which
are unused on ARM architecure. Samsung has some code setting up wdog
in arch_decomp_wdog(). But since CONFIG_S3C_BOOT_WATCHDOG is defined
nowhere, it will not run. Otherwise, system can not boot at all when
wdog is set up but no one pats it.

Linus Torvalds 974b33586b ARM: arm-soc fixes for 3.8-rc
People are back from the holiday breaks, and it shows. Here are a bunch of
 fixes for a number of platforms:
  - A couple of small fixes for Nomadik
  - A larger set of changes for kirkwood/mvebu
    - uart driver selection, dt clocks, gpio-poweroff fixups,
      a few __init annotation fixes and some error handling improvement
      in their xor dma driver.
  - i.MX had a couple of minor fixes (and a critical one for flexcan2
    clock setup)
  - MXS has a small board fix and a framebuffer bugfix
  - A set of fixes for Samsung Exynos, fixing default bootargs and some
    Exynos5440 clock issues
  - A set of OMAP changes including PM fixes and a few sparse warning
    fixups

 All in all a bit more positive code delta than we'd ideally want to see
 here, mostly from the OMAP PM changes, but nothing overly crazy.

Olof Johansson 981302783e ARM/...: timer and clock events cleanup, and remove struct sys_timer
This branch contains a number of cleanups and unifications to various
 timer- clock-events- and ARM timer code. The main points are:

 1) Convert arch_gettimeoffset to a pointer, so that architectures with
    multiple timer implementations can simply set this standard pointer
    rather than maintaining their own arch-specific pointers for the
    same purpose. Various architectures are converted to using this new
    feature.

 2) Conversion of ARM timer implementations to use clock_event_devices's
    suspend/resume operations, rather than the ARM-specific sys_timer
    versions. Thus, the ARM code begins to use more common infra-structure
    rather than arch-specific code.

 3) Removal of ARM's struct sys_timer completely, now that everything uses
    common code.

 4) Introduction of drivers/clocksource/clksrc-of.c, which allows ARM clock
    source implementations to be moved into drivers/clocksource, with the
    need to add SoC-specific header files for each timer initialization
    function; instead, all enabled implementations are registered into a
    table which a single core function iterates over, and calls the
    relevant initialization functions based on device tree. At least the
    Tegra and BCM2835 clocksource implementations will use this feature in
    the 3.9 kernel cycle.

Greg Kroah-Hartman 351a102dbf ARM: drivers: remove __dev* attributes.
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev*
markings need to be removed.

This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata,

Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me

Linus Torvalds 8d91a42e54 ARM: arm-soc: late cleanups for omap
From Tony Lindgren:
 Here are few more patches to finish the omap changes for
 multiplatform conversion that are not strictly fixes, but
 were too complex to do with the dependencies during the
 merge window. Those are to move of serial-omap.h to
 platform_data, and the removal of remaining cpu_is_omap
 macro usage outside mach-omap2.

 Then there are several trivial fixes for typos and few
 minimal omap2plus_defconfig updates.

Stephen Warren 6bb27d7349 ARM: delete struct sys_timer
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct,
and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization
function itself.

This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without
having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into
include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init()
function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning
the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at:

Tony Lindgren 45c3eb7d3a ARM: OMAP: Move plat-omap/dma-omap.h to include/linux/omap-dma.h
Based on earlier discussions[1] we attempted to find a suitable
location for the omap DMA header in commit 2b6c4e73 (ARM: OMAP:
DMA: Move plat/dma.h to plat-omap/dma-omap.h) until the conversion
to dmaengine is complete.

Unfortunately that was before I was able to try to test compile
of the ARM multiplatform builds for omap2+, and the end result
was not very good.

So I'm creating yet another all over the place patch to cut the
last dependency for building omap2+ for ARM multiplatform. After
this, we have finally removed the driver dependencies to the
arch/arm code, except for few drivers that are being worked on.

The other option was to make the <plat-omap/dma-omap.h> path
to work, but we'd have to add some new header directory to for
multiplatform builds.

Or we would have to manually include arch/arm/plat-omap/include
again from arch/arm/Makefile for omap2+.

Neither of these alternatives sound appealing as they will
likely lead addition of various other headers exposed to the
drivers, which we want to avoid for the multiplatform kernels.

Since we already have a minimal include/linux/omap-dma.h,
let's just use that instead and add a note to it to not
use the custom omap DMA functions any longer where possible.

Note that converting omap DMA to dmaengine depends on
dmaengine supporting automatically incrementing the FIFO
address at the device end, and converting all the remaining
legacy drivers. So it's going to be few more merge windows.

As discussed on linux-arm-kernel, we want to avoid

Note that eventually when the omap1 specific drivers

This code will be eventually in drivers, and for the
code in the drivers we don't want to have any cpu_is_omap

To fix this, let's move the define for dma_omap2plus()
to dma-omap.h, and use the existing dma_attr passed in
the platform_data as the revision registers are what they
are.

introduced by the recent clean-up patches.

relative includes for the arch/arm/*omap* shared code:

http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-omap/msg80520.html

So this patch re-adds a minimal plat/sram.h.

The new plat/sram.h must not be included from drivers,
that will break build for omap2+ CONFIG_MULTIPLATFORM.

Note that this patch temporarily adds two more
relative includes; Those will be removed in the
following patch.

Paul Walmsley 37c67d0398 ARM: OMAP2+: WDT: move init; add read_reset_sources pdata function pointer
The OMAP watchdog timer driver directly calls a function exported by
code in arch/arm/mach-omap2. This is not good; it tightly couples
this driver to the mach-omap2 integration code. Instead, add a
temporary platform_data function pointer to abstract this function
call. A subsequent patch will convert the watchdog driver to use this
function pointer.

This patch also moves the device creation code out of
arch/arm/mach-omap2/devices.c and into arch/arm/mach-omap2/wd_timer.c.
This is another step towards the removal of
arch/arm/mach-omap2/devices.c.

Paul Walmsley b5c5353d41 ARM: OMAP1: create read_reset_sources() function (for initial use by watchdog)
On OMAP1, the existing OMAP watchdog driver reads a register directly
from a non-watchdog IP block. It also does not convert the register's
contents into the standard WDIOF_* bits expected from the
GETBOOTSTATUS ioctl().

To move towards fixing these problems, create an function in
arch/arm/mach-omap1 to return the reset source data. A subsequent
patch will provide this function to the watchdog driver via
platform_data.

In the long term, the best approach would be to move this function
to a new OMAP1 driver that handles access to the OMAP1 Clock
Generation and Reset Management IP block. Then no platform_data would
be needed.

ASoC: Fixes for v3.7

Nothing too exciting except for the ams-delta change which is relatively
lerge due to the fact that the driver loading had been totally broken as
the driver needed a newer API to function.

Tony Lindgren 53db20d123 mmc: omap: Remove cpu_is_omap usage from the driver
This is needed for the ARM common zImage support.

We can use the existing slot features to pass omap1
specific options to the driver. For omap2 we don't
want to pass anything new as that will be eventually
moved to use device tree based init.

Note that this patch depends on earlier patch that
moves plat/mmc.h into include/linux/platform_data.

Russell King b1b3f49ce4 ARM: config: sort select statements alphanumerically
As suggested by Andrew Morton:

  This is a pet peeve of mine. Any time there's a long list of items
  (header file inclusions, kconfig entries, array initalisers, etc) and
  someone wants to add a new item, they *always* go and stick it at the
  end of the list.

  Guys, don't do this. Either put the new item into a randomly-chosen
  position or, probably better, alphanumerically sort the list.

lets sort all our select statements alphanumerically. This commit was
created by the following perl:

while (<>) {
	while (/\\\s*$/) {
		$_ .= <>;
	}
	undef %selects if /^\s*config\s+/;
	if (/^\s+select\s+(\w+).*/) {
		if (defined($selects{$1})) {
			if ($selects{$1} eq $_) {
				print STDERR "Warning: removing duplicated $1 entry\n";
			} else {
				print STDERR "Error: $1 differently selected\n".
					"\tOld: $selects{$1}\n".
					"\tNew: $_\n";
				exit 1;
			}
		}
		$selects{$1} = $_;
		next;
	}
	if (%selects and (/^\s*$/ or /^\s+help/ or /^\s+---help---/ or
			  /^endif/ or /^endchoice/)) {
		foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) {
			print "$selects{$k}";
		}
		undef %selects;
	}
	print;
}
if (%selects) {
	foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) {
		print "$selects{$k}";
	}
}

It found two duplicates:

Warning: removing duplicated S5P_SETUP_MIPIPHY entry
Warning: removing duplicated HARDIRQS_SW_RESEND entry

and they are identical duplicates, hence the shrinkage in the diffstat
of two lines.

We have four testers reporting success of this change (Tony, Stephen,
Linus and Sekhar.)

Linus Torvalds 5e090ed7af ARM: soc: late platform updates
This branch contains updates to OMAP and Marvell platforms (kirkwood,
 dove, mvebu) that came in after we had done the big multiplatform merges,
 so they were kept separate from the rest, and not separated into the
 traditional topics of cleanup/driver/platform features.

 For OMAP, the updates are:
 - Runtime PM conversions for the GPMC and RNG IP blocks
 - Preparation patches for the OMAP common clock framework conversion
 - clkdev alias additions required by other drivers
 - Performance Monitoring Unit (PMU) support for OMAP2, 3, and non-4430 OMAP4
 - OMAP hwmod code and data improvements
 - Preparation patches for the IOMMU runtime PM conversion
 - Preparation patches for OMAP4 full-chip retention support

 For Kirkwood/Dove/mvebu:

 - New driver for "address decoder controller" for mvebu, which
   is a piece of hardware that configures addressable devices and
   peripherals. First user is the boot rom aperture on armada XP since
   it is needed for SMP support.
 - New device tree bindings for peripherals such as gpio-fan, iconnect
   nand, mv_cesa and the above address decoder controller.
 - Some defconfig updates, mostly to enable new DT boards and a few drivers.
 - New drivers using the pincontrol subsystem for dove, kirkwood and mvebu
 - New clean gpio driver for mvebu

Jon Hunter 5c3e4ec485 ARM: OMAP: Add a timer attribute for timers that can interrupt the DSP
Some instances of the DMTIMER peripheral on OMAP devices have the ability
to interrupt the on-chip DSP in addition to the ARM CPU. Add a DMTIMER
attribute to indicate which timers can interrupt the DSP. By using the
omap_dm_timer_request_by_cap() API, driver will now be able to allocate
a DMTIMER that can interrupt the DSP based upon this attribute and not require
the driver to know which instance has this capability.

DMTIMERs that have the ability to interrupt the DSP on OMAP devices are as
follows ...

- OMAP1 (OMAP5912/16xx/17xx) devices	- All 8 DMTIMERs
- OMAP2/3/4 devices			- DMTIMERs 5-8

Please note that for OMAP3+, timer8 has the ability to interrupt the DSP and
generate a PWM output.

Remove the SoC restriction code from the OMAP RNG driver. The
integration code in arch/arm/*omap* should handle this. The device
shouldn't be created if it doesn't exist on the currently-booted SoC.

This allows us to remove some OMAP-specific cpu_is_omap*() calls from
the driver. Also, if other OMAP chips have RNGs that can be used
by Linux, there will be no need to modify the driver.

Move the OMAP1-specific RNG device creation off to mach-omap1/devices.c,
and create a omap_device-backed registration function for OMAP2+ devices
in mach-omap2/devices.c.

As a nice side-benefit, we can also get rid of
arch/arm/plat-omap/devices.c, thanks to some recent changes from Tony.

One change from the previous behavior is that the RNG devices are now
registered unconditionally. This should allow the RNG drivers to be
loaded as modules, even if the original kernel was not built that way.
