Florian Westphal 4806e97572 netfilter: replace NF_NAT_NEEDED with IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_NF_NAT)

removed, IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_NF_NAT) has the same effect.

Arnd Bergmann d1fa381033 netfilter: fix NETFILTER_XT_TARGET_TEE dependencies
With NETFILTER_XT_TARGET_TEE=y and IP6_NF_IPTABLES=m, we get a link
error when referencing the NF_DUP_IPV6 module:

net/netfilter/xt_TEE.o: In function `tee_tg6':
xt_TEE.c:(.text+0x14): undefined reference to `nf_dup_ipv6'

The problem here is the 'select NF_DUP_IPV6 if IP6_NF_IPTABLES'
that forces NF_DUP_IPV6 to be =m as well rather than setting it
to =y as was intended here. Adding a soft dependency on
IP6_NF_IPTABLES avoids that broken configuration.

Florian Westphal db8ab38880 netfilter: nf_tables: merge ipv4 and ipv6 nat chain types
Merge the ipv4 and ipv6 nat chain type. This is the last
missing piece which allows to provide inet family support
for nat in a follow patch.

The kconfig knobs for ipv4/ipv6 nat chain are removed, the
nat chain type will be built unconditionally if NFT_NAT
expression is enabled.

  22948 1612 4136 28696 7018 nf_nat.ko

... with ipv4/v6 nat now provided directly via nf_nat.ko.

Also changes:
       ret = nf_nat_ipv4_fn(priv, skb, state);
       if (ret != NF_DROP && ret != NF_STOLEN &&
into
	if (ret != NF_ACCEPT)
		return ret;

everywhere.

The nat hooks never should return anything other than
ACCEPT or DROP (and the latter only in rare error cases).

The original code uses multi-line ANDing including assignment-in-if:
        if (ret != NF_DROP && ret != NF_STOLEN &&
           !(IPCB(skb)->flags & IPSKB_XFRM_TRANSFORMED) &&
            (ct = nf_ct_get(skb, &ctinfo)) != NULL) {

I removed this while moving, breaking those in separate conditionals
and moving the assignments into extra lines.

checkpatch still generates some warnings:
 1. Overly long lines (of moved code).
Breaking them is even more ugly. so I kept this as-is.
 2. use of extern function declarations in a .c file.
This is necessary evil, we must call
nf_nat_l3proto_register() from the nat core now.
All l3proto related functions are removed later in this series,
those prototypes are then removed as well.

v2: keep empty nf_nat_ipv6_csum_update stub for CONFIG_IPV6=n case.
v3: remove IS_ENABLED(NF_NAT_IPV4/6) tests, NF_NAT_IPVx toggles
    are removed here.
v4: also get rid of the assignments in conditionals.

Florian Westphal faec18dbb0 netfilter: nat: remove l4proto->manip_pkt
This removes the last l4proto indirection, the two callers, the l3proto
packet mangling helpers for ipv4 and ipv6, now call the
nf_nat_l4proto_manip_pkt() helper.

nf_nat_proto_{dccp,tcp,sctp,gre,icmp,icmpv6} are left behind, even though
they contain no functionality anymore to not clutter this patch.

Next patch will remove the empty files and the nf_nat_l4proto
struct.

other nat manip functionality as well, not just udp and udplite.

Florian Westphal 10568f6c57 netfilter: xt_checksum: ignore gso skbs
Satish Patel reports a skb_warn_bad_offload() splat caused
by -j CHECKSUM rules:

-A POSTROUTING -p tcp -m tcp --sport 80 -j CHECKSUM

The CHECKSUM target has never worked with GSO skbs, and the above rule
makes no sense as kernel will handle checksum updates on transmit.

Unfortunately, there are 3rd party tools that install such rules, so we
cannot reject this from the config plane without potential breakage.

Amend Kconfig text to clarify that the CHECKSUM target is only useful
in virtualized environments, where old dhcp clients that use AF_PACKET
used to discard UDP packets with a 'bad' header checksum and add a
one-time warning in case such rule isn't restricted to UDP.

Florian Westphal 7bdfcea875 netfilter: kconfig: remove ct zone/label dependencies
connection tracking zones currently depend on the xtables CT target.
The reasoning was that it makes no sense to support zones if they can't
be configured (which needed CT target).

Nowadays zones can also be used by OVS and configured via nftables,
so remove the dependency.

connection tracking labels are handled via hidden dependency that gets
auto-selected by the connlabel match.
Make it a visible knob, as labels can be attached via ctnetlink
or via nftables rules (nft_ct expression) too.

This allows to use conntrack labels and zones with nftables-only build.

Máté Eckl 4ed8eb6570 netfilter: nf_tables: Add native tproxy support
A great portion of the code is taken from xt_TPROXY.c

There are some changes compared to the iptables implementation:
 - tproxy statement is not terminal here
 - Either address or port has to be specified, but at least one of them
is necessary. If one of them is not specified, the evaluation will be
performed with the original attribute of the packet (ie. target port
is not specified => the packet's dport will be used).

To make this work in inet tables, the tproxy structure has a family
member (typically called priv->family) which is not necessarily equal to
ctx->family.

priv->family can have three values legally:
 - NFPROTO_IPV4 if the table family is ip OR if table family is inet,
but an ipv4 address is specified as a target address. The rule only
evaluates ipv4 packets in this case.
 - NFPROTO_IPV6 if the table family is ip6 OR if table family is inet,
but an ipv6 address is specified as a target address. The rule only
evaluates ipv6 packets in this case.
 - NFPROTO_UNSPEC if the table family is inet AND if only the port is
specified. The rule will evaluate both ipv4 and ipv6 packets.

Arnd Bergmann a661574370 netfilter: fix CONFIG_NF_REJECT_IPV6=m link error
We get a new link error with CONFIG_NFT_REJECT_INET=y and CONFIG_NF_REJECT_IPV6=m
after larger parts of the nftables modules are linked together:

net/netfilter/nft_reject_inet.o: In function `nft_reject_inet_eval':
nft_reject_inet.c:(.text+0x17c): undefined reference to `nf_send_unreach6'
nft_reject_inet.c:(.text+0x190): undefined reference to `nf_send_reset6'

The problem is that with NF_TABLES_INET set, we implicitly try to use
the ipv6 version as well for NFT_REJECT, but when CONFIG_IPV6 is set to
a loadable module, it's impossible to reach that.

The best workaround I found is to express the above as a Kconfig
dependency, forcing NFT_REJECT itself to be 'm' in that particular
configuration.

Pablo Neira Ayuso 6be3bcd75a netfilter: flowtable infrastructure depends on NETFILTER_INGRESS
config NF_FLOW_TABLE depends on NETFILTER_INGRESS. If users forget to
enable this toggle, flowtable registration fails with EOPNOTSUPP.

Moreover, turn 'select NF_FLOW_TABLE' in every flowtable family flavour
into dependency instead, otherwise this new dependency on
NETFILTER_INGRESS causes a warning. This also allows us to remove the
explicit dependency between family flowtables <-> NF_TABLES and
NF_CONNTRACK, given they depend on the NF_FLOW_TABLE core that already
expresses the general dependencies for this new infrastructure.

Moreover, NF_FLOW_TABLE_INET depends on NF_FLOW_TABLE_IPV4 and
NF_FLOWTABLE_IPV6, which already depends on NF_FLOW_TABLE. So we can get
rid of direct dependency with NF_FLOW_TABLE.

In general, let's avoid 'select', it just makes things more complicated.

Pablo Neira Ayuso a3c90f7a23 netfilter: nf_tables: flow offload expression
Add new instruction for the nf_tables VM that allows us to specify what
flows are offloaded into a given flow table via name. This new
instruction creates the flow entry and adds it to the flow table.

Only established flows, ie. we have seen traffic in both directions, are
added to the flow table. You can still decide to offload entries at a
later stage via packet counting or checking the ct status in case you
want to offload assured conntracks.

This new extension depends on the conntrack subsystem.

This patch defines the API to interact with flow tables, this allows to
add, delete and lookup for entries in the flow table. This also adds the
generic garbage code that removes entries that have expired, ie. no

Users of the flow table infrastructure can delete entries via
flow_offload_dead(), which sets the dying bit, this signals the garbage
collector to release an entry from user context.

Pablo Neira Ayuso 665153ff57 netfilter: nf_tables: add bitmap set type
This patch adds a new bitmap set type. This bitmap uses two bits to
represent one element. These two bits determine the element state in the
current and the future generation that fits into the nf_tables commit
protocol. When dumping elements back to userspace, the two bits are
expanded into a struct nft_set_ext object.

If no NFTA_SET_DESC_SIZE is specified, the existing automatic set
backend selection prefers bitmap over hash in case of keys whose size is
<= 16 bit. If the set size is know, the bitmap set type is selected if
with 16 bit kets and more than 390 elements in the set, otherwise the
hash table set implementation is used.

For 8 bit keys, the bitmap consumes 66 bytes. For 16 bit keys, the
bitmap takes 16388 bytes.

Netfilter updates for net-next

The following patchset contains Netfilter updates for your net-next
tree, they are:

1) Stash ctinfo 3-bit field into pointer to nf_conntrack object from
sk_buff so we only access one single cacheline in the conntrack
   hotpath. Patchset from Florian Westphal.

2) Don't leak pointer to internal structures when exporting x_tables
ruleset back to userspace, from Willem DeBruijn. This includes new
helper functions to copy data to userspace such as xt_data_to_user()
as well as conversions of our ip_tables, ip6_tables and arp_tables
clients to use it. Not surprinsingly, ebtables requires an ad-hoc
update. There is also a new field in x_tables extensions to indicate
the amount of bytes that we copy to userspace.

3) Add nf_log_all_netns sysctl: This new knob allows you to enable
logging via nf_log infrastructure for all existing netnamespaces.
Given the effort to provide pernet syslog has been discontinued,
let's provide a way to restore logging using netfilter kernel logging
facilities in trusted environments. Patch from Michal Kubecek.

4) Validate SCTP checksum from conntrack helper, from Davide Caratti.

5) Merge UDPlite conntrack and NAT helpers into UDP, this was mostly
a copy&paste from the original helper, from Florian Westphal.

6) Reset netfilter state when duplicating packets, also from Florian.

7) Remove unnecessary check for broadcast in IPv6 in pkttype match and
   nft_meta, from Liping Zhang.

8) Add missing code to deal with loopback packets from nft_meta when
used by the netdev family, also from Liping.

9) Several cleanups on nf_tables, one to remove unnecessary check from
the netlink control plane path to add table, set and stateful objects
and code consolidation when unregister chain hooks, from Gao Feng.

10) Fix harmless reference counter underflow in IPVS that, however,

11) Enable LIBCRC32C from nf_ct_sctp instead of nf_nat_sctp,
