defined AR_SREV_9003_PCOEM macro, its more clear to use the macro
instead of checking one by one. Also removed PCOEM chips checking
in the callback of ar9003_hw_do_pcoem_manual_peak_cal() which only
for PCOEM chips.

In some configurations, this function uses more than the warning limit
of 1024 bytes:

It turns out that there are two large arrays on the stack here, but
almost all the data in them is never used outside of the loop in
which it gets written, so we can replace the array with a single
instance.
The .valid flag is used later, so I'm replacing the array of structures
with an array of bools. An obvious follow-up optimization would be
to replace it with a bitmask and set_bit()/find_first_bit()/
find_last_bit()/... operations. However, I have not tested this patch,
so I sticked to the simpler transformation that does the job of
reducing the stack usage to a harmless level.

Make NF load complete quickly and reliably. NF load execution
is delayed by HW to end of frame if frame Rx or Tx is ongoing.
Increasing timeout to max frame duration. If NF cal is ongoing
before NF load, stop it before load, and restart it afterwards.

One crash issue be found on ar9300: RTC_RC reg read leads crash, leading
the data bus error, due to RTC_RC reg write not happen properly.
Warm Reset trigger in continuous beacon stuck for one of the customer for
other chip, noticed the MAC was stuck in RTC reset. After analysis noticed
DMA did not complete when RTC was put in reset.
So, before resetting the MAC need to make sure there are no pending DMA
transactions because this reset does not reset all parts of the chip.
The 12th and 11th bit of MAC _DMA_CFG register used to do that.
12 cfg_halt_ack 0x0
0 DMA has not yet halted
1 DMA has halted
11 cfg_halt_req 0x0
0 DMA logic operates normally
1 Request DMA logic to stop so software can reset the MAC
The Bit [12] of this register indicates when the halt has taken effect or
not. the DMA halt IS NOT recoverable; once software sets bit [11] to
request a DMA halt, software must wait for bit [12] to be set and reset
the MAC.
So, the same thing we implemented for ar9580 chip.

Currently mac80211 does not inform the driver of the session
block ack timeout when starting a rx aggregation session.
Drivers that manage the reorder buffer need to know this
parameter.
Seeing that there are now too many arguments for the
drv_ampdu_action() function, wrap them inside a structure.

Ath9k driver does not modify tx skbs, so SUPPORTS_CLONED_SKBS
flag can be set. Enabling this flag significant reduce number
of copy operation during TCP Tx. This is especially noticeable
on platforms with slower CPU (lower CPU usage brings
profits in better TCP Tx troughput results).
Tested on MIPS with 560 MHz clock
Without CLONED_SKBS flag:
TCP Tx 145 Mb/s (iperf result)
__copy_user_common consumes 12.9% of CPU (result from perf tool)
0% CPU Idle
With CLONED_SKBS flag:
TCP Tx 170 Mb/s (iperf result)
__copy_user_common consumes 1.8% of CPU (result from perf tool)
12% CPU Idle

This patch is derived from
commit 6301566e0b ("ath9k: export HW random number generator"),
We evaluated the entropy of the ADC data on QCA9531, QCA9561, QCA955x,
and AR9340, and it has sufficient quality random data (at least 10 bits
and up to 22 bits of min-entropy for a 32-bit value). We conservatively
assume the min-entropy is 10 bits out of 32 bits. Thus, ATH9K_RNG_BUF_SIZE
is set to 320 (u32) i.e., 1.25 kilobytes of data is inserted to fill up
the pool as soon as the entropy counter becomes 896/4096 (set by random.c).
Since ADC was not designed to be a dedicated HW RNG, we do not want to bind
it to /dev/hwrng framework directly. This patch feeds the entropy directly
from the WiFi driver to the input pool. The ADC register output is only
used as a seed for the Linux entropy pool. No conditioning is needed,
since all the conditioning is performed by the pool itself.

When rx stopped, AR_RX_FILTER should be cleared, but in
ath9k_hw_setrxfilter(), ATH9K_RX_FILTER_CONTROL_WRAPPER will always
be set for ar9462/ar9565.
Fix this by moving the code in ath9k_hw_setrxfilter() to
ath_calcrxfilter().

In case of MCC and AP interface, add also NOA attr
that will inform stations about absence of an AP.
There is a chance that some stations will handle
this NOA attr correctly and will know exactly when
AP is present/absent.

While mac80211 using null frames when connection polling,
we should queue this frames while NOA could be there, and
AP, P2P_GO could be not present.
Without this patch, with no traffic we often saw disconnections
while we try to send nullfunc when AP/GO wasn't present.

The three eeprom implementations had quite some duplicate code when it
came to endianness swapping.
Additionally there was a bug in eeprom_4k and eeprom_9287 which
prevented the endianness swapping from working correctly, because the
swapping code was guarded within an "if (!ath9k_hw_use_flash(ah))". In
eeprom_def this check did not exist, so it seems that eeprom_def was the
only implementation where endianness swapping worked.
This patch takes the duplicate code and moves it from eeprom_* to
eeprom.c. The new code is derived from eeprom_def, while taking into
account the specifics from the other implementations.

The FreeBSD driver [0] uses the same 2G values as for the AR9280 chips.
Using the same values in ath9k results in much better throughput for me.
Before this patch I had a huge amount of packet loss (sometimes up to
40%) and the max transfer speed was somewhere around 5Mbit/s. With this
patch applied I have zero packet loss and ten times the throughput.
My device uses a AR9227 which is the PCI variant of the AR9287.

Its a bit odd that debugfs_create_bool() takes 'u32 *' as an argument,
when all it needs is a boolean pointer.
It would be better to update this API to make it accept 'bool *'
instead, as that will make it more consistent and often more convenient.
Over that bool takes just a byte.
That required updates to all user sites as well, in the same commit
updating the API. regmap core was also using
debugfs_{read|write}_file_bool(), directly and variable types were
updated for that to be bool as well.

ath9k inserts padding between the 802.11 header and the data area (to
align it). Since it didn't declare this extra required headroom, this
led to some nasty issues like randomly dropped packets in some setups.

Current kernel support only one fw name with theoretically only one
fw version located in “firmware/htc_[9271|7010].fw”. Which is ok so far we
have only one fw version (1.3). After we realised new fw 1.4, we faced
compatibility problem which was decided to solve by firmware name and
location:
- new firmware is located now in
firmware/ath9k_htc/htc_[9271|7010]-1.4.0.fw
- old version 1.3 should be on old place, so old kernel have no issues
with it.
- new kernels including this patch should be able to try different
supported (min..max) fw version.
- new kernel should be able to support old fw location too. At least for
now.
At same time this patch will add new module option which should allow user
to play with development fw version without replacing stable one. If user
will set “ath9k_htc use_dev_fw=1” module will try to find
firmware/ath9k_htc/htc_[9271|7010]-1.dev.0.fw first and if it fails, use
stable version: for example...1.4.0.fw.

Setup rxfiler correctly for offchannel ctx.
This fix problem we didn't configure rxfilter, next

We measured the FFT-based entropy in 3 ways, Shannon entropy,
collision entropy, and directly measured min-entropy. Just to
be conservative, we recommend the estimated min-Entropy to be
10 bits per 16-bit value.

This could've however theoretically led sometimes
to increased power consumption on connected
stations as they would keep their Rx active
waiting for frames that would never come.

A long time ago, ath9k had issues during reset where the DMA engine
would stay active and could potentially corrupt memory.
To debug those issues, the driver would print warnings whenever they
occur.
Nowadays, these issues are gone and the primary cause of these messages
is if the MAC is stuck during reset or busy processing a long
transmission. This is fairly harmless, yet these messages continue to
worry users.
To reduce the number of bogus bug reports, turn these messages into
debug messages and count their occurence in the "reset" debugfs file.

FCC long pulse radar (type 5) requires pulses to be
checked for chirping. This patch implements chirp
detection based on the FFT data provided for long
pulses.
A chirp is detected when a set of criteria defined
by FCC pulse characteristics is met, including
* have at least 4 FFT samples
* max_bin index moves equidistantly between samples
* the gradient is within defined range
The chirp detection has been tested with reference
radar generating devices and proved to work reliably.

As we're running out of hardware capability flags pretty quickly,
convert them to use the regular test_bit() style unsigned long
bitmaps.
This introduces a number of helper functions/macros to set and to
test the bits, along with new debugfs code.
The occurrences of an explicit __clear_bit() are intentional, the
drivers were never supposed to change their supported bits on the
fly. We should investigate changing this to be a per-frame flag.

AR93xx and newer needs to stop rx before tx to avoid getting the DMA
engine or MAC into a stuck state.
This should reduce/fix the occurence of "Failed to stop Tx DMA" logspam.

[ar5008 and ar9002]_hw_spur_mitigate have big portion of identical code.
This patch will move common part of ar5008_hw_spur_mitigate to
ar5008_hw_cmn_spur_mitigate and reuse it in ar9002_hw_spur_mitigate.
As noticed by Joe Perches I reuse ar9002_hw_spur_mitigate (const) version of
declarations for pilot_mask_reg and chan_mask_reg.
There should be no other difference with original code.

changed things like this:

The problem is that test_bit() takes a bit number and not a mask. It
means that when we do:
set_bit(OP_TSF_RESET, &priv->op_flags);
Then it sets the (1 << 6) bit instead of the 6 bit so we are setting a
bit which is past the end of the unsigned long.

3) 'net' was making a fix to sk_release_kernel() which is
completely removed in 'net-next'.
4) In net_namespace.c, the rtnl_net_fill() call for GET operations
had the command value fixed, meanwhile 'net-next' adjusted the
argument signature a bit.
This also matches example merge resolutions posted by Stephen
Rothwell over the past two days.

Normal FFT reports generate a LOT of data, to save resources
enable short repeat by default also on ath9k_htc (it's already
enabled by default on ath9k). This can always be changed from
userspace if needed.

E/M noise is a pretty good source of entropy so we mix the FFT
measurements of the E/M spectrum to /dev/random pool. Note that
this doesn't increase the pool's entropy count but it still helps
on improving the output of /dev/(u)random.

There is no reason to keep processing FFT reports if there is no
space left on the relayfs buffers for the results. This saves
lots of CPU cycles, especially on normal (non-short) reports.

Since we have lots of frames on a normal FFT report don't bother
processing the malformed ones. Only try to fix malformed frames
in case of a short FFT report (only a single frame on the report).

Since we can identify the FFT frames on the report by checking the
consistency of their magnitude info, we can process all of them,
even when some of them are corrupted.
This patch introduces two functions to quickly verify the integrity
of the mag_info fields and some further tweaks to detect the frames
in the report and process them.
Note that in case of missing bytes we don't duplicate them, instead
we leave them as zeroes. This way we get less noise on the FFT plot.

Maximum magnitude index is a 5bit signed integer,
convert to an 8bit signed integer and then "shift" it so that it can be used
as an array index. Note that the current implementation adds +1 to the index
value (so it can't be used as an array index) and it's only valid for HT20
channels.
Note that the maximum magnitude index is not being used by
the userspace tools that parse FFT samples (they just use
maximum magnitude) so this doesn't break userspace compatibility.

Do not use ieee80211_vif pointer in ath_get_rate_txpower() since it has been
overwritten by setup_frame_info() and it will result in a corrupted tx power
configuration. Set per-packet tx power in setup_frame_info() according to
current vif tx power.

This support is essentially useless as typically networks are encrypted,
frames will be filtered by hardware, and rate scaling will be done with
the intended recipient in mind. For real monitoring of the network, the
monitor mode support should be used instead.
Removing it removes a lot of corner cases.

Since usb bus add extra delay on each request, a command
with read + write requests is too expensive. We can dramtically
reduce usb load by moving this command to firmware.
In my tests, this patch will reduce channel scan time
for about 5-10 seconds.

In HT40 modes, pulse events on primary and extension
channel are processed individually. If valid, a pulse
event will be fed into the detector
* for primary frequency, or
* for extension frequency (+/-20MHz based on HT40-mode)
* or both
With that, a 40MHz radar will result in two individual
radar events.

sc->nbcnvifs tracks assigned beacon slots, not enabled beacons.
Therefore, it cannot be used to decide if cur_conf->enable_beacon (bool)
should be updated, or if beacons have been enabled already.
With the current code (depending on the order of calls), beacons often
do not get enabled in an AP+STA setup.
To fix tracking of enabled beacons, convert cur_conf->enable_beacon to a
bitmask of enabled beacon slots.

The MCI configuration values are assigned
in ath9k_hw_btcoex_init_mci() which are used
by the MCI reset routine. When initializing
BTCOEX/MCI, ath_mci_setup() ends up using
uninitialized data. Fix this by setting up
the configuration parameters before issuing
a MCI reset.

This device is a dongle made by Philips to enhance their TVs with wireless capabilities,
but works flawlessly on any upstream kernel, provided that the ath9k_htc module is attached to it.

Along with AR9462, AR9565 also has an extra field

The relay_close() function tests whether its argument is NULL and then
returns immediately. Thus the test around the call is not needed.

This patch addresses several issues with the
ath9k_hw_wow_enable() routine:
* The usage of set/clr variables is removed. Writing
the required values to registers is cleaner.
* The shift value of 28 for the contention window field
in AR_WOW_PATTERN is incorrect, change it to 27.
* Disabling Keep Alive needs to be done based on the
LINK_CHANGE option. This is done unconditionally now,
fix this.
* The workaround for the D1/D3 issue is required only
for AR9462.
* The bitfield for enabling pattern matching for packets
less than 256 bytes has expanded for new chips, handle
this accordingly.
* General cleanup.

This patch makes sure that valid WOW triggers
are present before trying to suspend the device.
Also, introduce and use ATH_OP_WOW_ENABLED to
bypass PCI suspend and clear it in resume().

Registering the card as a wakeup source needs to
be done once, during initialization. When the WOW
configuration changes, the card's status as wakeup
source needs to be changed too and this is done
via the set_wakeup() callback. Also, make sure
the device is removed properly using ath9k_deinit_wow().

If CONFIG_ATH9K_CHANNEL_CONTEXT is enabled, check whether
multiple contexts are active and if so, return 1 without
enabling WOW since we don't support it in this case.

If multiple interfaces are active or there is no
associated station interface, bail out early and
return 1 so that mac80211 can proceed with the normal
