Christian Engelmayer 59c0d7b1e4 [media] mn88472: Fix possible leak in mn88472_init()
Commit 307e95c922 ("[media] mn88472: implement firmware parity check")
introduced the usage of exit paths that do not free the already allocated
firmware data in case the parity handling fails. Go through the correct
exit paths. Detected by Coverity CID 1295989.

Hans Verkuil 5c9ede4442 [media] dt3155v4l: drop CONFIG_DT3155_CCIR, use s_std instead
There is no need for CONFIG_DT3155_CCIR to select between 50/60 Hz,
that's why we have s_std.

Since this is a simple framegrabber there is no need for g/s_parm.
The frame period can be obtained via ENUMSTD instead.

Hans Verkuil 9db8baffbf [media] dt3155v4l: correctly start and stop streaming
Don't start streaming when a buffer is queued, instead implement the
start_streaming op and do it there, leaving it up to the vb2 framework
to call start_streaming when enough buffers have been queued.

And don't stop streaming from within the interrupt routine, instead do
that in stop_streaming.

Sumit Semwal d8fbe341be dma-buf: cleanup dma_buf_export() to make it easily extensible
At present, dma_buf_export() takes a series of parameters, which
makes it difficult to add any new parameters for exporters, if required.

Make it simpler by moving all these parameters into a struct, and pass
the struct * as parameter to dma_buf_export().

While at it, unite dma_buf_export_named() with dma_buf_export(), and
change all callers accordingly.

Iulia Manda 2813893f8b kernel: conditionally support non-root users, groups and capabilities
There are a lot of embedded systems that run most or all of their
functionality in init, running as root:root. For these systems,
supporting multiple users is not necessary.

This patch adds a new symbol, CONFIG_MULTIUSER, that makes support for
non-root users, non-root groups, and capabilities optional. It is enabled
under CONFIG_EXPERT menu.

When this symbol is not defined, UID and GID are zero in any possible case
and processes always have all capabilities.

The following syscalls are compiled out: setuid, setregid, setgid,
setreuid, setresuid, getresuid, setresgid, getresgid, setgroups,
getgroups, setfsuid, setfsgid, capget, capset.

Also, groups.c is compiled out completely.

In kernel/capability.c, capable function was moved in order to avoid
adding two ifdef blocks.

This change saves about 25 KB on a defconfig build. The most minimal
kernels have total text sizes in the high hundreds of kB rather than
low MB. (The 25k goes down a bit with allnoconfig, but not that much.

The kernel was booted in Qemu. All the common functionalities work.
Adding users/groups is not possible, failing with -ENOSYS.

Bloat-o-meter output:
add/remove: 7/87 grow/shrink: 19/397 up/down: 1675/-26325 (-24650)

Pull networking updates from David Miller:

 1) Add BQL support to via-rhine, from Tino Reichardt.

 2) Integrate SWITCHDEV layer support into the DSA layer, so DSA drivers
can support hw switch offloading. From Floria Fainelli.

 3) Allow 'ip address' commands to initiate multicast group join/leave,
    from Madhu Challa.

 4) Many ipv4 FIB lookup optimizations from Alexander Duyck.

 5) Support EBPF in cls_bpf classifier and act_bpf action, from Daniel
    Borkmann.

 6) Remove the ugly compat support in ARP for ugly layers like ax25,
rose, etc. And use this to clean up the neigh layer, then use it to
implement MPLS support. All from Eric Biederman.

 7) Support L3 forwarding offloading in switches, from Scott Feldman.

 8) Collapse the LOCAL and MAIN ipv4 FIB tables when possible, to speed
up route lookups even further. From Alexander Duyck.

 9) Many improvements and bug fixes to the rhashtable implementation,
from Herbert Xu and Thomas Graf. In particular, in the case where
an rhashtable user bulk adds a large number of items into an empty
table, we expand the table much more sanely.

10) Don't make the tcp_metrics hash table per-namespace, from Eric
    Biederman.

11) Extend EBPF to access SKB fields, from Alexei Starovoitov.

12) Split out new connection request sockets so that they can be
established in the main hash table. Much less false sharing since
hash lookups go direct to the request sockets instead of having to
go first to the listener then to the request socks hashed
    underneath. From Eric Dumazet.

13) Add async I/O support for crytpo AF_ALG sockets, from Tadeusz Struk.

14) Support stable privacy address generation for RFC7217 in IPV6. From
    Hannes Frederic Sowa.

15) Hash network namespace into IP frag IDs, also from Hannes Frederic

Konstantin Khlebnikov b9ea25152e page_writeback: clean up mess around cancel_dirty_page()
This patch replaces cancel_dirty_page() with a helper function
account_page_cleaned() which only updates counters. It's called from
truncate_complete_page() and from try_to_free_buffers() (hack for ext3).
Page is locked in both cases, page-lock protects against concurrent
dirtiers: see commit 2d6d7f9828 ("mm: protect set_page_dirty() from
ongoing truncation").

Delete_from_page_cache() shouldn't be called for dirty pages, they must
be handled by caller (either written or truncated). This patch treats
final dirty accounting fixup at the end of __delete_from_page_cache() as
a debug check and adds WARN_ON_ONCE() around it. If something removes
dirty pages without proper handling that might be a bug and unwritten
data might be lost.

Hugetlbfs has no dirty pages accounting, ClearPageDirty() is enough
here.

cancel_dirty_page() in nfs_wb_page_cancel() is redundant. This is
helper for nfs_invalidate_page() and it's called only in case complete
invalidation.

The mess was started in v2.6.20 after commits 46d2277c79 ("Clean up
and make try_to_free_buffers() not race with dirty pages") and
3e67c0987d ("truncate: clear page dirtiness before running
try_to_free_buffers()") first was reverted right in v2.6.20 in commit
ecdfc9787f ("Resurrect 'try_to_free_buffers()' VM hackery"), second in
v2.6.25 commit a2b345642f ("Fix dirty page accounting leak with ext3
data=journal").

Custom fixes were introduced between these points. NFS in v2.6.23, commit
1b3b4a1a2d ("NFS: Fix a write request leak in nfs_invalidate_page()").
Kludge in __delete_from_page_cache() in v2.6.24, commit 3a6927906f ("Do
dirty page accounting when removing a page from the page cache"). Since
v2.6.25 all of them are redundant.

There's a lot of patches here, the Outreachy application period happened

The rw parameter to direct_IO is redundant with iov_iter->type, and
treated slightly differently just about everywhere it's used: some users

David S. Miller c85d6975ef Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Conflicts:
	drivers/net/ethernet/mellanox/mlx4/cmd.c
	net/core/fib_rules.c
	net/ipv4/fib_frontend.c

The fib_rules.c and fib_frontend.c conflicts were locking adjustments
in 'net' overlapping addition and removal of code in 'net-next'.

The mlx4 conflict was a bug fix in 'net' happening in the same
place a constant was being replaced with a more suitable macro.

Dan Carpenter c4151700bb Staging: rtl8192u: use correct array for debug output
This is supposed to be ->rates_ex[] instead of ->rates[]. I found this
because static checkers complain than ->rates is too small so we're
reading beyond the end of the array. It has 12 elements instead of 15.

This bug was apparently copy and pasted from ipw2x00. I fixed it before
in that driver 428e3cf5f9 ('ipw2x00: printing the wrong array in
debug code')
