Maxime Ripard a05a2e7998 mfd: sun6i-prcm: Allow to compile with COMPILE_TEST
Since this driver only has a dependency on ARCH_SUNXI just because it
doesn't make any sense to run it on something else, we can definitely
enable it through COMPILE_TEST as well to get some build coverage.

Thor Thayer f36e789a1f mfd: altera-sysmgr: Add SOCFPGA System Manager
The SOCFPGA System Manager register block aggregates different
peripheral functions into one area.
On 32 bit ARM parts, handle in the same way as syscon.
On 64 bit ARM parts, the System Manager can only be accessed by
EL3 secure mode. Since a SMC call to EL3 is required, this new
driver uses regmaps similar to syscon to handle the SMC call.

Since regmaps abstract out the underlying register access, the
changes to drivers accessing the System Manager are minimal.

This happens when we wakeup via something behing twl4030 (powerbutton or rtc
alarm). This goes on for minutes until the system is finally resumed.
Disable the irq on suspend and enable it on resume to avoid
having i2c access problems when the irq registers are checked.

regulator: wm8400: Get rid of wm8400_block_read/wm8400_set_bits functions
The only user of wm8400_block_read/wm8400_set_bits functions is the
wm8400 regulator driver. At the context of all the callers, we can
use regmap_bulk_read/regmap_update_bits directly.
Thus remove wm8400_block_read/wm8400_set_bits functions.

   gpiochip. This rework, in a classic fall-between-the-chairs
   fashion has been sidestepped for too long. The Qualcomm
   IRQchips using the SPMI and SSBI transport mechanisms have
   been rewritten to use hierarchical irqchip. This creates
   the base from which I intend to gradually pull support for
   hierarchical irqchips into the gpiolib irqchip helpers to
   cut down on duplicate code. We have too many hacks in the
   kernel because people have been working around the missing
   hierarchical irqchip for years, and once it was there,
   noone understood it for a while. We are now slowly adapting
   to using it. This is why this pull requests include changes
   to MFD, SPMI, IRQchip core and some ARM Device Trees
   pertaining to the Qualcomm chip family. Since Qualcomm have
   so many chips and such large deployments it is paramount
   that this platform gets this right, and now it (hopefully)
   does.
 
 - Core support for pull-up and pull-down configuration, also
   from the device tree. When a simple GPIO chip support a
   "off or on" pull-up or pull-down resistor, we provide a
   way to set this up using machine descriptors or device tree.

   usecase is currently making its way into kernelci.

Christoph Hellwig d037739220 mfd/sm501: depend on HAS_DMA
Currently the sm501 mfd driver can be compiled without any dependencies,
but through the use of dma_declare_coherent it really depends on
having DMA and iomem support.  Normally we don't explicitly require DMA
support as we have stubs for it if on UML, but in this case the driver
selects support for dma_declare_coherent and thus also requires
memmap support.  Guard this by an explicit dependency.

Brian Masney ee08e24c2e mfd: pm8xxx: disassociate old virq if hwirq mapping already exists
Check to see if the hwirq is already associated with another virq on
this IRQ domain. If so, then disassociate it before associating the
hwirq with the new virq.

This is a temporary hack that is needed in order to not break git
bisect for existing boards. The next patch in this series converts
ssbi-gpio to be a hierarchical IRQ chip, then there are several patches
to update all of the device tree files, and finally this patch will be
reverted within the same patch series.

IRQs for ssbi-gpio are all initially setup without an IRQ hierarchy
this driver is probed due to the interrupts property in device tree.
Once ssbi-gpio is converted to be a hierarchical IRQ chip in the next
patch, existing users of gpio[d]_to_irq() will call pmic_gpio_to_irq(),
and that will use the new IRQ chip code in ssbi-gpio that sets up the
IRQ in an IRQ hierarchy. The hwirq is now associated with two Linux
virqs and interrupts will not work as expected. This patch corrects
that issue.

This change was tested on an APQ8060 DragonBoard.

Brian Masney 3324a7c1a2 mfd: pm8xxx: convert to v2 irq interfaces to support hierarchical IRQ chips
Convert the PM8XXX IRQ code to use the version 2 IRQ interface in order
to support hierarchical IRQ chips. This is necessary so that ssbi-gpio
can be setup as a hierarchical IRQ chip with PM8xxx as the parent. IRQ
chips in device tree should be usable from the start without having to
make an additional call to gpio[d]_to_irq() to get the proper IRQ on the
parent.

pm8821_irq_domain_ops and pm8821_irq_domain_map are removed by this
patch since the irq_chip is now contained in the pm_irq_data struct, and
that allows us to use a common IRQ mapping function.

This change was tested on an APQ8060 DragonBoard.

Guenter Roeck c1778e5819 mfd: cros_ec_dev: Return number of bytes read with CROS_EC_DEV_IOCRDMEM
While ioctls normally return a negative error or 0 on success, this is not
the case for CROS_EC_DEV_IOCXCMD in the cros_ec driver, which returns the
number of bytes read instead. However, CROS_EC_DEV_IOCRDMEM in the same
driver does not return the number of byte read on success. This is both
inconsistent and problematic, since the amount of returned data can be
dynamic. Have it return the number of data bytes for consistency.

The Kconfig currently controlling compilation of this code is:

...meaning that it currently is not being built as a module by anyone.

Hence we remove the MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE since it is a no-op for
non-modular code.

There is no removal of <linux/module.h> here because there isn't one.
Instead, it is relying on including that implicitly from an ACPI header.

In cleaning up the ACPI instance of module.h (which also isn't strictly
needed), then this mfd driver breaks when MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE becomes
undefined here.

The easiest dependency solution is to simply defer the ACPI cleanup
until this change is present in mainline.

Charles Keepax 422dcafe47 mfd: lochnagar: Add support for the Cirrus Logic Lochnagar
Lochnagar is an evaluation and development board for Cirrus
Logic Smart CODEC and Amp devices. It allows the connection of
most Cirrus Logic devices on mini-cards, as well as allowing
connection of various application processor systems to provide a
full evaluation platform. This driver supports the board
controller chip on the Lochnagar board. Audio system topology,
clocking and power can all be controlled through the Lochnagar
controller chip, allowing the device under test to be used in
a variety of possible use cases.

As the Lochnagar is a fairly complex device this MFD driver
allows the drivers for the various features to be bound
in. Initially clocking, regulator and pinctrl will be added as
these are necessary to configure the system. But in time at least
audio and voltage/current monitoring will also be added.

One of the more common cases of allocation size calculations is finding
the size of a structure that has a zero-sized array at the end, along
with memory for some number of elements for that array. For example:

Instead of leaving these open-coded and prone to type mistakes, we can

Gustavo A. R. Silva ae7b8eda27 mfd: sm501: Fix potential NULL pointer dereference
There is a potential NULL pointer dereference in case devm_kzalloc()
fails and returns NULL.

Fix this by adding a NULL check on *lookup*

This bug was detected with the help of Coccinelle.

Enric Balletbo i Serra 0545625baa mfd / platform: cros_ec_vbc: Instantiate only if the EC has a VBC NVRAM
The cros-ec-vbc driver is DT-only and there is a DT property that
indicates if the EC has the VCB NVRAM, in such case instantiate the
driver but don't instantiate on the other cases.

To do this move the check code to its parent instead of play with the
attribute group visibility. This changes a bit the actual behaviour.
Before the patch if an EC doesn't have a VBC NVRAM an empty vbc folder
is created in /sys/class/chromeos/<ec-device-name>, after the patch the
empty folder is not created, so, the folder is only created if the vbc
is set.

Eric Anholt 670c672608 soc: bcm: bcm2835-pm: Add support for power domains under a new binding.
This provides a free software alternative to raspberrypi-power.c's
firmware calls to manage power domains.  It also exposes a reset line,
where previously the vc4 driver had to try to force power off the
domain in order to trigger a reset.

Beomho Seo 3f2d347e85 mfd: exynos-lpass: Enable UART module support
This patch enables proper interrupts routing between UART module
in Exynos Audio SubSystem and the rest of the SoC. This routing is
completely transparent for UART device and CPU/GIC. UART driver requests
interrupts from the respective controller and enables/masks/handles it
by itself via standard methods.

There are boards (for example TM2), which use UART module in Exynos Audio
SubStem for communication with BlueTooth chip.

When mc13xxx_reg_read() fails, "old_adc0" is uninitialized and will
contain random value. Further execution uses "old_adc0" even when
mc13xxx_reg_read() fails.

Chen-Yu Tsai 753a8d083e mfd: axp20x: Re-align MFD cell entries
In the axp20x driver, the various mfd_cell lists had varying amounts
of indentation, sometimes even within the same list. For the axp288,
there's no alignment at all.

Re-align the right hand side of the assignments with the least amount
of tabs possible. Also collapse the closing bracket and the opening
bracket of the next entry onto the same line for the axp288, to be
consistent with all the other mfd_cell lists.

This patch is whitespace change only. No functionality is modified.

The tps6586x driver creates an irqchip that is used by its various child
devices for managing interrupts. The tps6586x-rtc device is one of its
children that uses the tps6586x irqchip. When using the tps6586x-rtc as
a wake-up device from suspend, the following is seen:

 PM: Syncing filesystems ... done.
 Freezing user space processes ... (elapsed 0.001 seconds) done.
 OOM killer disabled.
 Freezing remaining freezable tasks ... (elapsed 0.000 seconds) done.
 Disabling non-boot CPUs ...
 Entering suspend state LP1
 Enabling non-boot CPUs ...
 CPU1 is up
 tps6586x 3-0034: failed to read interrupt status
 tps6586x 3-0034: failed to read interrupt status

The reason why the tps6586x interrupt status cannot be read is because
the tps6586x interrupt is not masked during suspend and when the
tps6586x-rtc interrupt occurs, to wake-up the device, the interrupt is
seen before the i2c controller has been resumed in order to read the
tps6586x interrupt status.

The tps6586x-rtc driver sets it's interrupt as a wake-up source during
suspend, which gets propagated to the parent tps6586x interrupt.
However, the tps6586x-rtc driver cannot disable it's interrupt during
suspend otherwise we would never be woken up and so the tps6586x must
disable it's interrupt instead.

Prevent the tps6586x interrupt handler from executing on exiting suspend
before the i2c controller has been resumed by disabling the tps6586x
interrupt on entering suspend and re-enabling it on resuming from
suspend.

Dan Carpenter 10628e3ecf mfd: ab8500-core: Return zero in get_register_interruptible()
This function is supposed to return zero on success or negative error
codes on error.  Unfortunately, there is a bug so it sometimes returns
non-zero, positive numbers on success.

I noticed this bug during review and I can't test it.  It does appear
that the return is sometimes propogated back to _regmap_read() where all
non-zero returns are treated as failure so this may affect run time.

This reverts commit 3aa2177e47.

That commit triggered a new WARN when unloading the module (see at the
end of the commit message). When a class_dev is embedded in a structure
then that class_dev is the thing that controls the lifetime of that
structure, for that reason device managed allocations can't be used here.
See Documentation/kobject.txt.

Revert the above patch, so the struct is allocated using kzalloc and we
have a release function for it that frees the allocated memory, otherwise
it is broken.

regulator: wm8994: Pass descriptor instead of GPIO number
Instead of passing a global GPIO number for the enable GPIO, pass
a descriptor looked up from the device tree node or the board file
decriptor table for the regulator.

There is a single board file passing the GPIOs for LDO1 and LDO2
through platform data, so augment this to pass descriptors
associated with the i2c device as well.

The special GPIO enable DT property for the enable GPIO is
nonstandard but this was accomodated in
commit 6a537d4846
"gpio: of: Support regulator nonstandard GPIO properties".

Pavel Machek 7891d37509 mfd: ti-lmu: Use managed resource for everything
This replaces all remaining unmanaged resources with device
managed ones, so that the remove function is no longer needed.
This makes the code slightly shorter and fixes two problems:

 1. The hardware is disabled after the child devices have
    been removed. Previously there was a potential race
    condition.
 2. The hardware is disabled when mfd_add_devices fails
    during probe.

Disable IRQs during suspend/resume cycle to ensure handling of wakeup
interrupts (i.e. RTC wake alarm) after max8997_resume(). This way it can
be properly handled when I2C bus is finally available. This pattern is
also used in other MAX PMIC MFD drivers.

Marek Szyprowski efddff27c8 mfd: max8997: Enale irq-wakeup unconditionally
IRQ wake up support for MAX8997 driver was initially configured by
respective property in pdata. However, after the driver conversion to
device-tree, setting it was left as 'todo'. Nowadays most of other PMIC MFD
drivers initialized from device-tree assume that they can be an irq wakeup
source, so enable it also for MAX8997. This fixes support for wakeup from
MAX8997 RTC alarm.
