Takeshi Kihara 83f6941a42 pinctrl: sh-pfc: r8a77990: Add bias pinconf support
This patch implements control of pull-up and pull-down. On this SoC there
is no simple mapping of GP pins to bias register bits, so we need a table.

Takeshi Kihara a8ab4f2bd8 pinctrl: sh-pfc: r8a77965: Add support for INTC-EX IRQ pins
Most pins on the R8A77965 SoC can be configured in GPIO mode for
interrupt and GPIO functionality, while a couple of them can also
be routed to the INTC-EX hardware block (formerly known as IRQC).

On R8A77965 the INTC-EX hardware handles pins IRQ0 -> IRQ5 and
this patch adds support for them to the PFC driver as "intc_ex_irqN".

Greg Kroah-Hartman b24413180f License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.

By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.

Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.

This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.

How this work was done:

Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
 - file had no licensing information it it.
 - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
 - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,

Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.

The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.

The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
 - Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
 - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
   lines of source
 - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
   lines).

All documentation files were explicitly excluded.

The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.

 - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
   COPYING file license applied.

For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

   SPDX license identifier # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|-------
   GPL-2.0 11139

and resulted in the first patch in this series.

If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH
Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was:

   SPDX license identifier # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|-------
   GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930

and resulted in the second patch in this series.

 - if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one
of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if
any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in
it (per prior point). Results summary:

   SPDX license identifier # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|------
   GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270
   GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17
   LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15
   GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14
   ((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5
   LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4
   LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1

and that resulted in the third patch in this series.

 - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
   the concluded license(s).

 - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.

 - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).

 - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

 - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
   in time.

In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.

Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.

In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.

Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
 - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
   license ids and scores
 - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
 - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
   SPDX license was correct

This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.

These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

Geert Uytterhoeven 8843797df3 pinctrl: sh-pfc: Save/restore registers for PSCI system suspend
During PSCI system suspend, R-Car Gen3 SoCs are powered down, and their
pinctrl register state is lost. Note that as the boot loader skips most
initialization after system resume, pinctrl register state differs from
the state encountered during normal system boot, too.

To fix this, save all GPIO and peripheral function select, module
select, drive strength control, bias, and other I/O control registers
during system suspend, and restore them during system resume.

Note that to avoid overhead on platforms not needing it, the
suspend/resume code has a build time dependency on sleep and PSCI
support, and a runtime dependency on PSCI.

On modern Renesas SoCs, all PFC registers are 32-bit, and all callers of

Hence make the 32-bit width implicit, and rename the functions to

Sergei Shtylyov 13385db547 pinctrl: sh-pfc: r8a7794: Remove reserved bits
The R8A7794 PFC driver was apparently based on the preliminary revisions
of the user's manual which had some signals and MOD_SEL register fields
described which the recent manual changed to reserved. Of course, these
signals haven't ever been really used, which makes removing them
painless.

Pull pin control updates from Linus Walleij:
"This is the bulk of pin control changes for the v4.12 cycle.

The extra week before the merge window actually resulted in some of
the type of fixes that usually arrive after the merge window already
starting to trickle in from eager developers using -next, I'm
  impressed.

I have recruited a Samsung subsubsystem maintainer (Krzysztof) to deal
with the onset of Samsung patches. It works great.

Apart from that it is a boring round, just incremental updates and
fixes all over the place, no serious core changes or anything exciting

the irqchip-providing drivers for realtime locking compliance. It's
one of those "I should really get around to looking into that" things

Tony Lindgren 6118714275 pinctrl: core: Fix pinctrl_register_and_init() with pinctrl_enable()
Recent pinctrl changes to allow dynamic allocation of pins exposed one
more issue with the pinctrl pins claimed early by the controller itself.
This caused a regression for IMX6 pinctrl hogs.

Before enabling the pin controller driver we need to wait until it has
been properly initialized, then claim the hogs, and only then enable it.

To fix the regression, split the code into pinctrl_claim_hogs() and
pinctrl_enable(). And then let's require that pinctrl_enable() is always
called by the pin controller driver when ready after calling
pinctrl_register_and_init().

Geert Uytterhoeven b205914c8f pinctrl: sh-pfc: r8a7795: Add support for R-Car H3 ES2.0
The Pin Function Controller module in the R-Car H3 ES2.0 differs from
ES1.x in many ways.

The goal is twofold:
  1. Support both the ES1.x and ES2.0 SoC revisions in a single binary
     for now,
  2. Make it clear which code supports ES1.x, so it can easily be
identified and removed later, when production SoCs are deemed
     ubiquitous.

Hence this patch:
  1. Extracts the support for R-Car H3 ES1.x into a separate file, as
     the differences are quite large,
  2. Adds code for detecting the SoC revision at runtime using the new
soc_device_match() API, and selecting pinctrl tables for the actual
     SoC revision,
  3. Replaces the core register and bitfield definitions by their
     counterparts for R-Car H3 ES2.0.

The addition of pins, groups, and functions for the various on-chip
devices is left to subsequent patches.

The R-Car H3 ES2.0 register and bitfield definitions were extracted from
a patch in the BSP by Takeshi Kihara.

Tony Lindgren 950b0d91dc pinctrl: core: Fix regression caused by delayed work for hogs
Commit df61b366af26 ("pinctrl: core: Use delayed work for hogs") caused a
regression at least with sh-pfc that is also a GPIO controller as
noted by Geert Uytterhoeven <geert@linux-m68k.org>.

As the original pinctrl_register() has issues calling pin controller
driver functions early before the controller has finished registering,
we can't just revert commit df61b366af26. That would break the drivers
using GENERIC_PINCTRL_GROUPS or GENERIC_PINMUX_FUNCTIONS.

So let's fix the issue with the following steps as a single patch:

1. Revert the late_init parts of commit df61b366af26.

The late_init clearly won't work and we have to just give up
on fixing pinctrl_register() for GENERIC_PINCTRL_GROUPS and
   GENERIC_PINMUX_FUNCTIONS.

2. Split pinctrl_register() into two parts

   By splitting pinctrl_register() into pinctrl_init_controller()
and pinctrl_create_and_start() we have better control over when
   it's safe to call pinctrl_create().

3. Introduce a new pinctrl_register_and_init() function

As suggested by Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>, we
can just introduce a new function for the controllers that need
   pinctrl_create() called later.

4. Convert the four known problem cases to use new function

   Let's convert pinctrl-imx, pinctrl-single, sh-pfc and ti-iodelay
to use the new function to fix the issues. The rest of the drivers
can be converted later. Let's also update Documentation/pinctrl.txt
accordingly because of the known issues with pinctrl_register().

Niklas Söderlund c314c9f15a pinctrl: sh-pfc: Add helper to handle bias lookup table
On some SoC there are no simple mapping of pins to bias register bits
and a lookup table is needed. This logic is already implemented in some
SoC specific drivers that could benefit from a generic implementation.

Add helpers to deal with the lookup which later can be used by the SoC
specific drivers. The logic used to lookup are different from the one it
aims to replace, this is intentional. This new method reduces the memory
consumption at the cost of increased CPU usage and fix a bug where a
WARN() would incorrectly be triggered if the register offset is 0.

"input bias disabled" indicating that this pin has bias control

Make support for PIN_CONFIG_BIAS_DISABLE depend on that the pin either
supports SH_PFC_PIN_CFG_PULL_UP or SH_PFC_PIN_CFG_PULL_DOWN. This also
solves the issue where SoC specific implementations print error messages

The Renesas Pin Function Controller uses two header files:
  - sh_pfc.h, for use by both core code and SoC-specific drivers,
  - core.h, for internal use by the core code only.

Several SoC-specific drivers include core.h, as they need the sh_pfc
structure, which is passed explicitly to the various SoC-specific
callbacks, and used there.

Hence move its definition from core.h to sh_pfc.h, and remove the

Linus Torvalds 1eccc6e152 This is the bulk of GPIO changes for kernel cycle v4.7:
Core infrastructural changes:

 - Support for natively single-ended GPIO driver stages. This
means that if the hardware has registers to configure open
drain or open source configuration, we use that rather than
(as we did before) try to emulate it by switching the line
to an input to get high impedance. This is also documented
throughly in Documentation/gpio/driver.txt for those of you
who did not understand one word of what I just wrote.

 - Start to do away with the unnecessarily complex and
   unitelligible ARCH_REQUIRE_GPIOLIB and
   ARCH_WANT_OPTIONAL_GPIOLIB, another evolutional artifact from
the time when the GPIO subsystem was unmaintained. Archs can
now just select GPIOLIB and be done with it, cleanups to
arches will trickle in for the next kernel. Some minor archs
ACKed the changes immediately so these are included in this
   pull request.

 - Advancing the use of the data pointer inside the GPIO device
for storing driver data by switching the PowerPC, Super-H
Unicore and a few other subarches or subsystem drivers in
ALSA SoC, Input, serial, SSB, staging etc to use it.

 - The initialization now reads the input/output state of the
GPIO lines, so that each GPIO descriptor knows - if this
callback is implemented - whether the line is input or
output. This also reflects nicely in userspace "lsgpio".

 - It is now possible to name GPIO producer names, line names,
from the device tree. (Platform data has been supported for
a while.) I bet we will get a similar mechanism for ACPI
one of those days. This makes is possible to get sensible
producer names for e.g. GPIO rails in "lsgpio" in userspace.

 New drivers:

 - New driver for the Loongson1.

 - The XLP driver now supports Broadcom Vulcan ARM64.

 - The IT87 driver now supports IT8620 and IT8628.

 - The PCA953X driver now supports Galileo Gen2.

 Driver improvements:

 - MCP23S08 was switched to use the gpiolib irqchip helpers and
   now also suppors level-triggered interrupts.

 - 74x164 and RCAR now supports the .set_multiple() callback

 - AMDPT was converted to use generic GPIO.

 - TC3589x, TPS65218, SX150X, F7188X, MENZ127, VX855, WM831X, WM8994
support the new single ended callback for open drain
and in some cases open source.

 - Implement the .get_direction() callback for a few more drivers
   like PL061, Xgene.

 Cleanups:

 - Paul Gortmaker combed through the drivers and de-modularized
those who are not really modules.

 - Move the GPIO poweroff DT bindings to the power subdir where
   they belong.

 - Rename gpio-generic.c to gpio-mmio.c, which is much more to the
point. That's what it is handling, nothing more, nothing less.

   - TC3589x, TPS65218, SX150X, F7188X, MENZ127, VX855, WM831X, WM8994
support the new single ended callback for open drain and in some
     cases open source.

   - Implement the .get_direction() callback for a few more drivers like
     PL061, Xgene.

  Cleanups:

   - Paul Gortmaker combed through the drivers and de-modularized those
     who are not really modules.

   - Move the GPIO poweroff DT bindings to the power subdir where they
     belong.

   - Rename gpio-generic.c to gpio-mmio.c, which is much more to the
point. That's what it is handling, nothing more, nothing less"

Geert Uytterhoeven 9697643ff3 pinctrl: sh-pfc: Let gpio_chip.to_irq() return zero on error
Currrently the gpio_chip.to_irq() callback returns -ENOSYS on error,
which causes bad interactions with the serial_mctrl_gpio helpers.

mctrl_gpio_init() returns -ENOSYS if GPIOLIB is not enabled, which is
intended to be ignored by its callers. However, ignoring -ENOSYS when it
was caused by a gpiod_to_irq() failure will lead to a crash later:

Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address ffffffde
    ...
    PC is at mctrl_gpio_set+0x14/0x78

Fix this by returning zero instead, like gpiochip_to_irq() does.

Koji Matsuoka 56ed4bb984 pinctrl: sh-pfc: r8a7794: Add DU pin groups
r8a7794 PFC DU support from the R-Car Gen2 v1.9.4 BSP

separated CDE and DISP signals, broke out the ODDF signal from the sync
group.]

[Sergei: resolved rejects, folded in Magnus' patches, killed empty lines,

Wolfram Sang 0129801be4 pinctrl: sh-pfc: only use dummy states for non-DT platforms
If pinctrl_provide_dummies() is used unconditionally, then the dummy
state will be used even on DT platforms when the "init" state was
intentionally left out. Instead of "default", the dummy "init" state
will then be used during probe. Thus, when probing an I2C controller on
cold boot, communication triggered by bus notifiers broke because the
pins were not initialized.

Do it like OMAP2: use the dummy state only for non-DT platforms.
