Sebastian Andrzej Siewior 9b3452d1fa usb: musb dma: add cppi41 dma driver
This driver is currently used by musb' cppi41 couter part. I may merge
both dma engine user of musb at some point but not just yet.

The driver seems to work in RX/TX mode in host mode, tested on mass
storage. I increaed the size of the TX / RX transfers and waited for the
core code to cancel a transfers and it seems to recover.

v2..3:
- use mall transfers on RX side and check data toggle.
- use rndis mode on tx side so we haveon interrupt for 4096 transfers.
- remove custom "transferred" hack and use dmaengine_tx_status() to
compute the total amount of data that has been transferred.
- cancel transfers and reclaim descriptors

v1..v2:
- RX path added
- dma mode 0 & 1 is working
- device tree nodes re-created.

Sebastian Andrzej Siewior 97238b35d5 usb: musb: dsps: use proper child nodes
This moves the two instances from the big node into two child nodes. The
glue layer ontop does almost nothing.

There is one devices containing the control module for USB (2) phy,
(2) usb and later the dma engine. The usb device is the "glue device"
which contains the musb device as a child. This is what we do ever since.

The new file musb_am335x is just here to prob the new bus and populate
child devices.

There are a lot of changes to the dsps file as a result of the changes:

- musb_core_offset
This is gone. The device tree provides memory ressources information
for the device there is no need to "fix" things

- instances
This is gone as well. If we have two instances then we have have two
child enabled nodes in the device tree. For instance the SoC in beagle
bone has two USB instances but only one has been wired up so there is
no need to load and init the second instance since it won't be used.

- dsps_glue is now per glue device
In the past there was one of this structs but with an array of two and
each instance accessed its variable depending on the platform device
  id.

- no unneeded copy of structs
I do not know why struct dsps_musb_wrapper is copied but it is not
necessary. The same goes for musb_hdrc_platform_data which allocated
on demand and then again by platform_device_add_data(). One copy is
  enough.

Sebastian Andrzej Siewior e96bdc3daf usb: musb: dsps: remove the hardcoded phy pieces
dsps uses a nop driver which is added in dsps itself and does the PHY
on/off calls within dsps. Since those calls are now moved the nop driver
itself, we can now request the phy proper phy and remove those calls.
Currently only the first musb interface is used so we only add one phy
node for now.

The "nop" driver isn't a do-nothing-stub but supports a couple functions
like clock on/off or is able to use a voltage regulator. This patch
simply renames the driver to "generic" since it is easy possible to
extend it by a simple function istead of writing a complete driver.

Commit 8d2421e ("usb: musb: kill global and static for multi instance")
removed the global dma_mask copy and replaced by parent's DMA mask. The
problem here is that if the parent does not have a dma_mask then
musb_remove() goes kaboom.
Instead trying to fix this I was thinking we do we need to erase
dma_mask in the first place?

Linus Torvalds 0bf6a210a4 ARM SoC driver specific changes
These changes are all driver specific and cross over between arm-soc
contents and some other subsystem, in these cases cpufreq, crypto,
dma, pinctrl, mailbox and usb, and the subsystem owners agreed to
have these changes merged through arm-soc. As we proceed to untangle
the dependencies between platform code and driver code, the amount of
changes in this category is fortunately shrinking, for 3.11 we have
16 branches here and 101 non-merge changesets, the majority of which
are for the stedma40 dma engine driver used in the ux500 platform.
Cleaning up that code touches multiple subsystems, but gets rid
of the dependency in the end.

The mailbox code moved out from mach-omap2 to drivers/mailbox
is an intermediate step and is still omap specific at the moment.
Patches exist to generalize the subsystem and add other drivers
with the same API, but those did not make it for 3.11.

 Conflicts:
 * In cpu-db8500.c results from the removal of the u8500_of_init_devices
function in combination with the split of u8500_auxdata_lookup.

 * In arch/arm/mach-omap2/devices.c, the includes got reshuffled.
we need to keep linux/wl12xx.h and linux/platform_data/mailbox-omap.h.

Greg Kroah-Hartman 976f8bef9c usb: patches for v3.11 merge window
All function drivers are now converted to our new configfs-based
binding. Eventually this will help us getting rid of in-kernel
gadget drivers and only keep function drivers in the kernel.

MUSB was taught that it needs to be built for host-only and
device-only modes too. We had this support long ago but it
involved a ridiculous amount of ifdefs. Now we have a much
 cleaner approach.

Samsung Exynos4 platform now implements HSIC support.

We're introducing support for AB8540 and AB9540 PHYs.

MUSB module reinsertion now works as expected, before we were
getting -EBUSY being returned by the resource checks done on
 driver core.

DWC3 now has minimum support for TI's AM437x series of SoCs.

OMAP5 USB3 PHY learned one extra DPLL configuration values because
that PHY is reused in TI's DRA7xx devices.

We're introducing support for Faraday fotg210 UDCs.

Last, but not least, the usual set of non-critical fixes and cleanups
ranging from usage of platform_{get,set}_drvdata to lock improvements.

Merge tag 'usb-for-v3.11' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/balbi/usb into usb-next

Felipe writes:

usb: patches for v3.11 merge window

Alan Stern 8a1ea51f87 USB: MUSB: upgrade the isochronous API
This patch attempts to fix the isochonour API in the musb host
driver. In particular, the urb->start_frame field should always be
set by the driver; it isn't an input parameter.

The simplest way to accomplish this is to treat all URBs as though the
URB_ISO_ASAP flag was set. This won't give the right behavior when an
underrun occurs, but I don't know enough about the musb driver to
handle that case.

Unfortunately, I have no way to test this change.

Ruslan Bilovol 8408fd1d83 usb: musb: implement (un)map_urb_for_dma hooks
MUSB controller cannot work in DMA mode with misaligned buffers,
switching in PIO mode.

HCD core has hooks that allow to override the default DMA
mapping and unmapping routines for host controllers that have
special DMA requirements, such as alignment constraints.

It is observed that work in PIO mode is slow and it's better
to align buffers properly before passing them to MUSB

This increased throughput 80->120 MBits/s over musb@omap4 with
USB Gigabit Ethernet adapter attached.

Some ideas are taken from ehci-tegra.c

On some platform configurations (like OMAP3+twl4030) it's the platform
code that enables VBUS, not OTG transceiver, so call vbus platform

This fixes a use case where USB cable is plugged first and gadget

On USB_EVENT_ID event the musb glue enables VBUS by calling

Aaro Koskinen f8c4b0e73b usb: musb: omap2430: fix omap_musb_mailbox glue check again
Commit 80ab72e1 (usb: musb: omap2430: fix the readiness check
in omap_musb_mailbox) made the check incorrect, as we will lose the
glue/link status during the normal built-in probe order (twl4030_usb is
probed after musb omap2430, but before musb core is ready).

As a result, if you boot with USB cable on and load g_ether, the
connection does not work as the code thinks the cable is off and the
phy gets powered down immediately. This is a major regression in 3.9-rc1.

So the proper check should be: exit if _glue is NULL, but if it's
initialized we memorize the status, and then check if the musb core
is ready.
