Laurent Pinchart 6e1f855781 drm: rcar-du: lvds: Don't fail probe if output is not connected on D3/E3
On the D3 and E3 SoCs the LVDS encoder has an extended internal PLL and
supplies a clock to the DU. That clock is used not only for the LVDS
outputs but also for the DPAD output. The LVDS encoder thus needs to be
available to the DU even when its output is disabled. Don't fail probe
in that case on D3 and E3.

Daniel Vetter fcd70cd36b drm: Split out drm_probe_helper.h
Having the probe helper stuff (which pretty much everyone needs) in
the drm_crtc_helper.h file (which atomic drivers should never need) is
confusing. Split them out.

To make sure I actually achieved the goal here I went through all
drivers. And indeed, all atomic drivers are now free of
drm_crtc_helper.h includes.

v2: Make it compile. There was so much compile fail on arm drivers
that I figured I'll better not include any of the acks on v1.

v3: Massive rebase because i915 has lost a lot of drmP.h includes, but
not all: Through drm_crtc_helper.h > drm_modeset_helper.h -> drmP.h
there was still one, which this patch largely removes. Which means
rolling out lots more includes all over.

This will also conflict with ongoing drmP.h cleanup by others I
expect.

v3: Rebase on top of atomic bochs.

v4: Review from Laurent for bridge/rcar/omap/shmob/core bits:
- (re)move some of the added includes, use the better include files in
other places (all suggested from Laurent adopted unchanged).
- sort alphabetically

v5: Actually try to sort them, and while at it, sort all the ones I
touch.

v6: Rebase onto i915 changes.

v7: Rebase once more.

Sam Ravnborg a16180a79c drmi/rcar-du: prepare for drmP.h removal from drm_modeset_helper.h
The use of drmP.h is discouraged and removal of it from
drm_modeset_helper.h caused rcar-du to fail to build.

This patch introduce the necessary fixes to prepare for the
drmP.h removal from drm_modeset_helper.h.

Build tested on arm x86 and arm allmodconfig.

Fabrizio Castro 90b5f679ef drm: rcar-du: lvds: add R8A774C0 support
The LVDS implementation on the RZ/G2E (a.k.a. R8A774C0) is very similar
to the one found on R-Car E3 (a.k.a. R8A77990), therefore add RZ/G2E
LVDS support to the LVDS encoder driver in a similar fashion to what is
done for R-Car E3.

Laurent Pinchart c25c013611 drm: rcar-du: lvds: D3/E3 support
The LVDS encoders in the D3 and E3 SoCs differ significantly from those
in the other R-Car Gen3 family members:

- The LVDS PLL architecture is more complex and requires computing PLL
  parameters manually.
- The PLL uses external clocks as inputs, which need to be retrieved
  from DT.
- In addition to the different PLL setup, the startup sequence has
changed *again* (seems someone had trouble making his/her mind).

Supporting all this requires DT bindings extensions for external clocks,
brand new PLL setup code, and a few quirks to handle the differences in
the startup sequence.

The implementation doesn't support all hardware features yet, namely

- Using the LV[01] clocks generated by the CPG as PLL input.
- Providing the LVDS PLL clock to the DU for use with the RGB output.

Those features can be added later when the need will arise.

Boris Brezillon 5fa8e4a221 drm/panel: Make of_drm_find_panel() return an ERR_PTR() instead of NULL
Right now, the DRM panel logic returns NULL when a panel pointing to
the passed OF node is not present in the list of registered panels.

Most drivers interpret this NULL value as -EPROBE_DEFER, but we are
about to modify the semantic of of_drm_find_panel() and let the
framework return -ENODEV when the device node we're pointing to has
a status property that is not equal to "okay" or "ok".

Let's first patch the of_drm_find_panel() implementation to return
ERR_PTR(-EPROBE_DEFER) instead of NULL and patch all callers to replace
the '!panel' check by an 'IS_ERR(panel)' one.

Laurent Pinchart 643ca198aa drm: rcar-du: lvds: Fix crash in .atomic_check when disabling connector
The connector .atomic_check() handler can be called with a NULL crtc
pointer in the connector state when the connector gets disabled
explicitly (through performing a legacy mode set or setting the
connector's CRTC_ID property to 0). This causes a crash as the crtc
pointer is dereferenced without any check.

Fix it by returning from the .atomic_check() handler when then crtc
pointer is NULL, as there is no check to be performed when the connector
gets disabled.

Laurent Pinchart c6a27fa41f drm: rcar-du: Convert LVDS encoder code to bridge driver
The LVDS encoders used to be described in DT as part of the DU. They now
have their own DT node, linked to the DU using the OF graph bindings.
This allows moving internal LVDS encoder support to a separate driver
modelled as a DRM bridge. Backward compatibility is retained as legacy
DT is patched live to move to the new bindings.
