Marc Zyngier 19a469a587 drivers/perf: arm-pmu: Handle per-interrupt affinity mask
On a big-little system, PMUs can be wired to CPUs using per CPU
interrups (PPI). In this case, it is important to make sure that
the enable/disable do happen on the right set of CPUs.

So instead of relying on the interrupt-affinity property, we can
use the actual percpu affinity that DT exposes as part of the
interrupt specifier. The DT binding is also updated to reflect
the fact that the interrupt-affinity property shouldn't be used
in that case.

Kedareswara rao Appana e131f1ba6f dmaengine: xilinx: Use different channel names for each dma
Current driver assumes that child node channel name is either
"xlnx,axi-vdma-mm2s-channel" or "xlnx,axi-vdma-s2mm-channel"

This patch fixes this issue by using different channel

Arnd Bergmann 82be1178ee Fix a long time regression for ir-rx51 driver for n900 device tree
booting.

 This driver has been unusable with multiarch because of the hardware
 timer access. With the recent PWM changes, we can finally fix the
 driver for multiarch and device tree support. And naturally there
 is no rush for these for the -rc cycle, these can wait for the
 merge window.

 The PWM changes have been acked by Thierry. For the media changes
 I did not get an ack from Mauro but he was Cc'd in the discussion
 and these changes do not conflict with other media changes.

 After this series we can drop the remaining omap3 legacy booting
 board files finally.

Merge tag 'omap-for-v4.8/ir-rx51-signed' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into next/drivers

Merge "omap ir-rx51 driver fixes for multiarch for v4.8 merge window"
from Tony Lindgren:

Fix a long time regression for ir-rx51 driver for n900 device tree

Arnd Bergmann ea2ff61ba3 spi: add binding for clps711x SPI
This documents the binding used by Alexander Shiyan's DT support for
the clps711x SPI controller.

I've left the file name to match the ARM platform port name "clps711x"
for consistency with the other bindings, even though the compatible
string refers to the later ep7309 chip.

Linux no longer supports the old clps711x and ep72xx product lines,
but we still use the name. The entire family is now discontinued
by the manufacturer.

The usb-phy is fully enclosed in the general register files (GRF).
Therefore as seen from the device-tree it shouldn't be a separate
platform-device but instead a sub-device of the GRF - using the
simply-mfd mechanism.

As the usb-phy is part of the kernel for some releases now, we keep
the old (and now deprecated) binding for compatibility purposes.

Maxime Ripard e6cbf9984e clk: fixed-factor: Allow for a few clocks to change the parent rate
The only way for a fixed factor clock to change its rate would be to change
its parent rate.

Jon Hunter 6cb68e46a9 dt-bindings: Add bindings for Tegra DPAUX pinctrl driver
On Tegra124, Tegra132 and Tegra210 devices the pads used by the Display
Port Auxiliary (DPAUX) channel are multiplexed such that they can also
be used by one of the internal I2C controllers. Note that this is
different from I2C-over-AUX supported by the DPAUX controller. The
register that configures these pads is part of the DPAUX controllers
register set and so a pinctrl driver is being added for the DPAUX device
to share these pads. Add the device-tree binding documentation for the
DPAUX pad controller.

Although there is only one group of pads associated with the DPAUX that
can be multiplexed, the group still needs to be described by the binding.
If the 'groups' property is not present in the binding, then the pads
will not be allocated by the pinctrl core for a client and this would
allow another client to re-configure the same pads that may already be
in-use.

Please note that although the "off" function for the DPAUX pads is not
technically a pin-mux setting but more of a pin-conf setting it is
simpler to expose these as a function so that the user can simply select
either "aux", "i2c" or "off" as the current function/mode.

Update the main DPAUX binding documentation to reference the DPAUX pad
controller binding document and add the 'i2c-bus' subnode. The 'i2c-bus'

Ivaylo Dimitrov a74a198249 pwm: omap-dmtimer: Allow for setting dmtimer clock source
OMAP GP timers can have different input clocks that allow different PWM
frequencies. However, there is no other way of setting the clock source but
through clocks or clock-names properties of the timer itself. This limits
PWM functionality to only the frequencies allowed by the particular clock
source. Allowing setting the clock source by PWM rather than by timer
allows different PWMs to have different ranges by not hard-wiring the clock
source to the timer.

 * ms5867
   - add device ids for ms5805 and ms5837 parts.

Stephen Boyd 93bfe79b03 regulator: qcom_spmi: Update mvs1/mvs2 switches on pm8941
The mvs1 and mvs2 switches are actually called 5vs1 and 5vs2 on
some datasheets. Let's rename them to match the datasheets and
also match the RPM based regulator driver which calls these by
their 5vs names (see qcom_smd-regulator.c). There aren't any
users of these regulators so far, so there aren't any concerns of
DT ABI breakage here. While we're here making updates to the
switches, also mandate usage of the OCP irq for these switches
too.

Geert Uytterhoeven b0405dc998 serial: sh-sci: Update DT binding documentation for dedicated RTS/CTS
Some Renesas SCIF UARTs have dedicated lines for RTS/CTS hardware flow

hardware flow control lines exist, and can be used as such, according to

Ramesh Shanmugasundaram dd3bd23eb4 can: rcar_canfd: Add Renesas R-Car CAN FD driver
This patch adds support for the CAN FD controller found in Renesas R-Car
SoCs. The controller operates in CAN FD only mode by default.

CAN FD mode supports both Classical CAN & CAN FD frame formats. The
controller supports ISO 11898-1:2015 CAN FD format only.

This controller supports two channels and the driver can enable either
or both of the channels.

Driver uses Rx FIFOs (one per channel) for reception & Common FIFOs (one
per channel) for transmission. Rx filter rules are configured to the
minimum (one per channel) and it accepts Standard, Extended, Data &
Remote Frame combinations.

Note: There are few documentation errors in R-Car Gen3 Hardware User
Manual v0.5E with respect to CAN FD controller. They are listed below:

1. CAN FD interrupt numbers 29 & 30 are listed as per channel
interrupts. However, they are common to both channels (i.e.) they are
global and channel interrupts respectively.

2. CANFD clock is derived from PLL1. This is not documented.

3. CANFD clock is further divided by (1/2) within the CAN FD controller.
This is not documented.

4. The minimum value of NTSEG1 in RSCFDnCFDCmNCFG register is 2 Tq. It
is specified 4 Tq in the manual.

5. The maximum number of message RAM area the controller can use is 3584
bytes. It is specified 10752 bytes in the manual.

Lars-Peter Clausen 5d76de61dd ASoC: adau17x1: Add support for specifying the MCLK using the CCF
The devices from the ADAU17X1 family all have a MCLK clock input which
supplies the master clock for the device. The master clock is used as the
input clock for the PLL. Currently the MCLK rate as well as the desired PLL
output frequency need to be supplied by calling snd_soc_dai_set_pll() form
a machine driver.

Add support for specifying the MCLK using the common clock framework. In
addition to that also automatically configure the PLL to a suitable rate
if the master clock was provided using the CCW. This allows to use the
CODEC driver without any special configuration requirements from the
machine driver.

While the PLL output frequency can be configured over a (more or less)
continuous range the narrowness of the range and the other constraints of
the clocking tree usually only result in two output frequencies that will
actually be chosen. One for 44.1kHz based rates and one for 48kHz based
rates, these are the rates that the automatic PLL configuration will use.
For the rare case where a non-standard setup is required a machine driver
can disable the auto-configuration and configure a custom frequency using
the existing mechanisms.

If the common clock framework is not enabled clk_get() will return NULL and
the driver will function as before and the clock rate needs to be
configured manually.

Greg Hackmann 35da60941e pstore/ram: add Device Tree bindings
ramoops is one of the remaining places where ARM vendors still rely on
board-specific shims. Device Tree lets us replace those shims with
generic code.

These bindings mirror the ramoops module parameters, with two small
differences:

(1) dump_oops becomes an optional "no-dump-oops" property, since ramoops
    sets dump_oops=1 by default.

(2) mem_type=1 becomes the more self-explanatory "unbuffered" property.

Jean-Michel Hautbois 0f614d834b i2c: Add generic support passing secondary devices addresses
Some I2C devices have multiple addresses assigned, for example each address
corresponding to a different internal register map page of the device.
So far drivers which need support for this have handled this with a driver
specific and non-generic implementation, e.g. passing the additional address
via platform data.

This patch provides a new helper function called i2c_new_secondary_device()
which is intended to provide a generic way to get the secondary address
as well as instantiate a struct i2c_client for the secondary address.

The function expects a pointer to the primary i2c_client, a name
for the secondary address and an optional default address. The name is used
as a handle to specify which secondary address to get.

The default address is used as a fallback in case no secondary address
was explicitly specified. In case no secondary address and no default
address were specified the function returns NULL.

For now the function only supports look-up of the secondary address
from devicetree, but it can be extended in the future
to for example support board files and/or ACPI.

Greg Kroah-Hartman aabb406008 First round of IIO new device support, features and cleanups for the 4.8 cycle.
New device support
 * ads1015
   - add ads1115 support
 * bma220 accelerometer
   - new driver
   - triggered buffer support.
 * bmc150
   - add bmm150 support.
 * bmp280
   - bme280 support with addition of humidity channel.
 * max5487 potentiometer
   - new driver
 * MMA7660FC accelerometer.
   - New driver
 * st-pressure
   - support for the lps22hb
 * loop trigger.
   - This one is *nasty* but we have real applications (parrot drones) where
   it is useful. The trigger basically spins as hard as it can firing off
   a new trigger each time all triggered devices come back to say they are
   done. It doesn't hang a machine even when doing it on a dummy driver.
   A lot nicer than having this implemented within lots of device drivers
   anyway.

 Core stuff
 * Add support to create IIO devices via configfs (similar to we did for
 triggers a while back) + docs.
 * New channel types
   - IIO_ELECTRICAL_CONDUCTIVITY
 * Couple of MAINTAINERS patches to list the device tree bindings.
 * Make trigger ops structure non optional (comment fix). It hasn't been for
 an awful long time, but that's not what the description said.

 New features
 * ak8975
   - support adapters that are limited to byte data only by allowing the
   emulated block read i2c function that was recently introduced.
 * atlas-ph
   - support atlas-ec (electrical conductivity sensor)
 * bmi160
   - add available frequency and scale attributes to make the driver
   more user friendly (and avoid having to read the datasheet to know
   what will work).
 * dummy
   - move creation to configfs interface. It's not real hardware so we
   are not that worried about the ABI breakage ;)
 * mma8452
   - oversampling ration support
 * nau7802
   - expose available gains to make life easier for userspace.
 * st-sensors
   - allow use of emulation for SMBus block reads as all the st parts support
   it.
 * ti-ads1015
   - list datasheet names to allow their use by inkernel consumers.
 * Various module alias additions to help auto probing. Drop one redundant one
 as well.

 Cleanups
 * ad7266, ad7476, ad7887, ad7923, ad799x
   - use direct mode claim function rather than open coding it during sensor
   read (prevents switching on buffers mid read).
 * ad7793, ad7791
   - use direct mode claim to prevent frequency changes when buffers running.
 * afe440x - These are ABI breaking but the driver requires custom userspace
   code to do anything useful anyway and that is still being written and under
   control of TI. Ultimately we may have other libraries to do pulse
   oximetry with these devices but we aren't aware of any yet.
   - kernel-doc format fixes
   - drop ifdef fun around of_match_ptr - it's not worth the mess to save
   a tiny amount of space.
   - drop some unnecessary register initializations.
   - drop the weird locked gain modes as they gain us nothing (can just set
   all gains separately).
   - remove handling of offset attributes seeing as no channels actually have
   them (oops)
   - Drop the LED3 input channel as it's an alias for ALED2.
   - *big one* remove channel names - an experiment that turned out to not
   make sense - see patch for details.
   - use regmap fields to clean up code.
   - tie the tia gain stages to appropriate channels in the ABI as that is
   what they really effect. Same with the LED currents.
   - cleanout some unused defines and fix a missnamed one.
 * atlas-ph
   - reorganise to allow support of other similar parts.
 * bmc150
   - document supported chips in kconfig help.
 * jsa1212
   - drop an unneeded i2c functionality check for functionality the driver
   doesn't use.
 * mxs-lradc
   - simply touch screen registration code.
   - remove the touch screen unregister as all devm based now.
   - disable only those channels that are masked in hardware stop (others
   are already dealt with elsewhere)
 * st-sensors
   - unexport st_sensors_get_buffer_element as nothing outside the st-sensors
   core driver uses it.
   - fix handling of failure to start up regulators.
 * tpl0102
   - drop an i2c functionality test for features that aren't needed.
 * ti-am335x
   - use variable name rather than type in sizeof for clarity.
   - use SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS helper macro to tidy up a bit.

 Tools
 * Add install / uninstall to makefile. Someone cares, so presumably
 some people will find it useful!
 *  generic_buffer
    - rename to iio_generic_buffer to line up with other tools.
    - handle cleanup when receiving signals
    - Add a --device-num option and a --trigger-num option rather than
    relying on naming which doesn't work if you have two of the same part.
