Pull oower management and ACPI updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"As far as the number of commits goes, ACPICA takes the lead this time,
followed by cpufreq and the device properties framework changes.
The most significant new feature is the debugfs-based interface to the
ACPICA's AML debugger added in the previous cycle and a new user space
tool for accessing it.
On the cpufreq front, the core is updated to handle governors more
efficiently, particularly on systems where a single cpufreq policy
object is shared between multiple CPUs, and there are quite a few
changes in drivers (intel_pstate, cpufreq-dt etc).
The device properties framework is updated to handle built-in (ie
included in the kernel itself) device properties better, among other
things by adding a fallback mechanism that will allow drivers to
provide default properties to be used in case the plaform firmware
doesn't provide the properties expected by them.
The Operating Performance Points (OPP) framework gets new DT bindings
and debugfs support.
A new cpufreq driver for ST platforms is added and the ACPI driver for
AMD SoCs will now support the APM X-Gene ACPI I2C device.
The rest is mostly fixes and cleanups all over.
Specifics:
- Add a debugfs-based interface for interacting with the ACPICA's AML

As we want gpio_chip .get() calls to be able to return negative

We do this by using the ret = !!(val) design pattern.

Currently the driver requests the boot done and control interface IRQs
before it has requested its own IRQ line. This can cause problems on
edge triggered IRQ systems as if an edge occurs before the parent IRQ is
enabled it will be missed. Whilst we are changing the error handling
remove an unused label as well.

The newly introduced as3722_i2c_suspend/resume functions are built
unconditionally, but only used when power management is enabled,
so we get a warning otherwise:
drivers/mfd/as3722.c:427:12: warning: 'as3722_i2c_suspend' defined but not used [-Wunused-function]
drivers/mfd/as3722.c:438:12: warning: 'as3722_i2c_resume' defined but not used [-Wunused-function]
This marks them both as __maybe_unused, which avoids an ugly #ifdef
and gives us best compile-time coverage. When they are unused, the
compiler will silently drop the functions from its output.

wm831x_unique_id_show currently displays an interesting pattern of '0'
and '3' characters which isn't very useful (figuring out why is left
as an exercise for the reader). Presumably "buf[i]" should have been
"id[i] & 0xff".
But while there, it is much simpler to simply use %phN and do all the

Currently syscon has a fixed configuration of 32 bits for register and
values widths. In some cases, it would be desirable to be able to
customize the value width.
For example, certain boards (like the ones manufactured by Technologic
Systems) have a FPGA that is memory-mapped, but its registers are only
16-bit wide.
This patch adds an optional "reg-io-width" DT binding for syscon that
allows to change the width for the data bus (i.e. val_bits). If this
property is provided, it will also set the register stride to
reg-io-width's value. If not provided, the default configuration is
used.

- Wait a while, pull CS up (inactive)
These operations, individually, lock the SPI bus, but there is
nothing preventing the SPI framework from interleaving messages
intended for other devices as the bus is unlocked in between.
This is a problem as the EC expects CS to be held low for the
whole duration.
Solution: Lock the SPI bus during the whole transaction, to make
sure that no other messages can be interleaved.

The separate struct bgpio_chip has been a pain to handle, both
by being confusingly similar in name to struct gpio_chip and
for being contained inside a struct so that struct gpio_chip
is contained in a struct contained in a struct, making several
steps of dereferencing necessary.
Make things simpler: include the fields directly into
<linux/gpio/driver.h>, #ifdef:ed for CONFIG_GENERIC_GPIO, and
get rid of the <linux/basic_mmio_gpio.h> altogether. Prefix
some of the member variables with bgpio_* and add proper
kerneldoc while we're at it.
Modify all users to handle the change and use a struct
gpio_chip directly. And while we're at it: replace all
container_of() dereferencing by gpiochip_get_data() and
registering the gpio_chip with gpiochip_add_data().

Intel Skylake the LPSS I2C pad circuit has internal delays that require
programming non-zero SDA hold time for the I2C host controller. If this is
not done communication to slave devices may fail with arbitration lost
errors like the one seen below taken from Lenovo Yoga 900:
i2c_hid i2c-SYNA2B29:00: Fetching the HID descriptor
i2c_hid i2c-SYNA2B29:00: __i2c_hid_command: cmd=20 00
i2c_designware i2c_designware.1: i2c_dw_handle_tx_abort: lost arbitration
To fix this we follow what the Windows driver is doing and pass the default
SDA hold time of 230 ns to all Intel Skylake host controllers. This still
allows the platform to override these values by passing special ACPI
methods SSCN and FMCN.

If the boot firmware does not support ACPI we need a way to pass device
configuration information to the drivers. The unified device properties API
already supports passing platform data via properties so let's take
advantage of that and allow probe drivers to pass set of properties to the
host controller driver.
In order to do that we need to be able to modify the MFD cell corresponding
the host controller, so make the core driver to take copy of the cell
instead of using it directly. Then we can assign info->pset to the
resulting copy of a cell and let the MFD core to assign that to the
resulting device.

as3722 4-0040: Failed to read IRQ status: -16

The reason why the as3722 interrupt status cannot be read is because the
as3722 interrupt is not masked during suspend and when the as3722-rtc
interrupt occurs, to wake-up the device, the interrupt is seen before the
i2c controller has been resumed in order to read the as3722 interrupt
status.
The as3722-rtc driver sets it's interrupt as a wake-up source during
suspend, which gets propagated to the parent as3722 interrupt. However,
the as3722-rtc driver cannot disable it's interrupt during suspend
otherwise we would never be woken up and so the as3722 must disable it's
interrupt instead.
Fix this by disabling the as3722 interrupt during suspend. To ensure that
a wake-up event from the as3722 is not missing, enable the as3722 interrupt
as a wake-up source before disabling the interrupt on entering suspend.

The name .dev in a struct is normally reserved for a struct device
that is let us say a superclass to the thing described by the struct.
struct gpio_chip stands out by confusingly using a struct device *dev
to point to the parent device (such as a platform_device) that
represents the hardware. As we want to give gpio_chip:s real devices,
this is not working. We need to rename this member to parent.
This was done by two coccinelle scripts, I guess it is possible to
combine them into one, but I don't know such stuff. They look like
this:
@@
struct gpio_chip *var;
@@
-var->dev
+var->parent
and:
@@
struct gpio_chip var;
@@
-var.dev
+var.parent
and:
@@
struct bgpio_chip *var;
@@
-var->gc.dev
+var->gc.parent
Plus a few instances of bgpio that I couldn't figure out how
to teach Coccinelle to rewrite.
This patch hits all over the place, but I *strongly* prefer this
solution to any piecemal approaches that just exercise patch
mechanics all over the place. It mainly hits drivers/gpio and
drivers/pinctrl which is my own backyard anyway.

This is quite a quiet release in terms of volume of patches but it
includes a couple of really nice core changes - the work Sascha has done
in particular is something I've wanted to get done for a long time but
just never got round to myself. Highlights include:
- Support from Sascha Hauer for setting the voltage of parent supplies
based on requests from their children. This is used both to allow
set_voltage() to work through a dumb switch and to improve the
efficiency of systems where DCDCs are used to supply LDOs by minimising
the voltage drop over the LDOs.
- Removal of regulator_list by Tomeu Vizoso, meaning we're not
duplicating the device list maintained by the driver core.
- Support for Wolfson/Cirrus WM8998 and WM1818.

The commit 54e8827d5f ("mfd: sec-core: Add support for S2MPU02
device") added new MFD child devices for S2MPU02: RTC and clock
provider (the clock provider with new compatible). However support for
these devices was not added to existing drivers (rtc-s5m, clk-s2mps11).
New drivers were not submitted neither.
This means that the name of children devices is completely unused. The
"samsung,s2mpu02-clk" compatible remains undocumented so it is unclear
what is provided by that compatible.
Clean up this by removing unused child devices and undocumented
compatible.

The WRSTBI bit (disabled by default but enabled by bootloader), when
set, is responsible for resetting voltages to default values of
certain bucks on falling edge of Warm Reset Input pin from AP.
However on some boards (with S2MPS13) the pin is pulled down so any
suspend will effectively trigger the reset of bucks supplying the power
to the little and big cores. In the same time when resuming, these bucks
must provide voltage greater or equal to voltage before suspend to match
the frequency chosen by cpufreq. If voltage (default value of voltage
after reset) is lower than one set by cpufreq before suspend, then
system will hang during resuming.

This driver supports the new Atmel Flexcom. The Flexcom is a wrapper which
integrates one SPI controller, one I2C controller and one USART. Only one
function can be enabled at a time. This driver selects the function once
for all, when the Flexcom is probed, according to the value of the new
"atmel,flexcom-mode" device tree property.
This driver has chosen to present the Flexcom to the system as a MFD so
the implementation is seamless for the existing Atmel SPI, I2C and USART
drivers.
Also the Flexcom embeds FIFOs: the latest patches of the SPI, I2C and
USART drivers take advantage of this new feature.

tps6105 driver provides two cells. One is for GPIO and another one is
for selected mode depending on platform data. When tps6105x is used in

On Odroid XU3 board (with S2MPS11 PMIC) the PWRHOLD bit in CTRL1
register must be manually set to 0 before initiating power off sequence.
One of usual power down methods for Exynos based devices looks like:
1. PWRHOLD pin of PMIC is connected to PSHOLD of Exynos SoC.
2. Exynos holds up this pin during system operation.
3. ACOKB pin of PMIC is pulled up to VBATT and optionally to pin in
other device.
4. When PWRHOLD/PSHOLD goes low, the PMIC will turn off the power if
ACOKB goes high.
On Odroid XU3 family the difference is in (3) - the ACOKB is grounded.
This means that PMIC must manually set PWRHOLD field to low and then
wait for signal from Application Processor (the usual change in
PWRHOLD/PSHOLD pin will actually cut off the power).
The patch adds respective binding allowing Odroid XU3 device to be
powered off.

Commit 68bab8662f ("mfd: twl6040: Optional clk32k clock handling")
added clock handling for the 32k clock from palmas-clk. However, that
patch did not consider a typical situation where twl6040 is built-in,
and palmas-clk is a loadable module like we have in omap2plus_defconfig.
If palmas-clk is not loaded before twl6040 probes, we will get a
"clk32k is not handled" warning during booting. This means that any
drivers relying on this clock will mysteriously fail, including
omap5-uevm WLAN and audio.
Note that for WLAN, we probably should also eventually get
the clk32kgaudio for MMC3 directly as that's shared between
audio and WLAN SDIO at least for omap5-uevm. It seems the
WLAN chip cannot get it as otherwise MMC3 won't get properly
probed.

There are little changes in core part, but lots of development are
found in drivers, especially ASoC. The diffstat shows regmap-
related changes for a slight API additions / changes, and that's all.
Looking at the code size statistics, the most significant addition
is for Intel Skylake. (Note that SKL support is still underway, the
codec driver is missing.) Also STI controller driver is a major
addition as well as a few new codec drivers.
In HD-audio side, there are fewer changes than the past. The
noticeable change is the support of ELD notification from i915
graphics driver. Thus this pull request carries a few changes in
drm/i915.
Other than that, USB-audio got a rewrite of runtime PM code. It
was initiated by lockdep warning, but resulted in a good cleanup in
the end.
Below are the highlights:
Common:
- Factoring out of AC'97 reset code from ASoC into the core helper
- A few regmap API extensions (in case it's not pulled yet)
ASoC:
- New drivers for Cirrus CS4349, GTM601, InvenSense ICS43432, Realtek
RT298 and ST STI controllers
- Machine drivers for Rockchip systems with MAX98090 and RT5645 and
RT5650
- Initial driver support for Intel Skylake devices
- Lots of rsnd cleanup and enhancements
- A few DAPM fixes and cleanups
- A large number of cleanups in various drivers (conversion and
standardized to regmap, component) mostly by Lars-Peter and Axel
HD-audio:
- Extended HD-audio core for Intel Skylake controller support
- Quirks for Dell headsets, Alienware 15
- Clean up of pin-based quirk tables for Realtek codecs
- ELD notifier implenetation for Intel HDMI/DP
USB-audio:
- Refactor runtime PM code to make lockdep happier

Pull power management and ACPI updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"From the number of commits perspective, the biggest items are ACPICA
and cpufreq changes with the latter taking the lead (over 50 commits).
On the cpufreq front, there are many cleanups and minor fixes in the
core and governors, driver updates etc. We also have a new cpufreq
driver for Mediatek MT8173 chips.
ACPICA mostly updates its debug infrastructure and adds a number of
fixes and cleanups for a good measure.
The Operating Performance Points (OPP) framework is updated with new
DT bindings and support for them among other things.
We have a few updates of the generic power domains framework and a
reorganization of the ACPI device enumeration code and bus type
operations.
And a lot of fixes and cleanups all over.
Included is one branch from the MFD tree as it contains some
PM-related driver core and ACPI PM changes a few other commits are
based on.

refactorings that move us towards being able to drop the list of
regulators maintained by the core and instead just use the driver model
list maintained for the class devices for regulators which will make the
code smaller and avoid some potential bugs. Otherwise another fairly
quiet release for the regulator API, highlights include:
- A new API for setting voltages based on a minimum, target, maximum
triplet.
- Support for continuous voltage ranges rather than tables of explicit
steps in the PWM regulator, requiring less explicit configuration.
- New driver support for Dialog DA9215, Maxim 77843, Mediatek MT6311
and Qualcomm RPM.

Pull regulator updates from Mark Brown:
"The biggest changes in the core this time around have been some
refactorings that move us towards being able to drop the list of
regulators maintained by the core and instead just use the driver
model list maintained for the class devices for regulators which will
make the code smaller and avoid some potential bugs.
Otherwise another fairly quiet release for the regulator API,
highlights include:
- a new API for setting voltages based on a minimum, target, maximum
triplet
- support for continuous voltage ranges rather than tables of
explicit steps in the PWM regulator, requiring less explicit
configuration
- new driver support for Dialog DA9215, Maxim 77843, Mediatek MT6311

The MFD_CROS_EC symbol select CHROME_PLATFORMS and CROS_EC_PROTO but
that caused a Kconfig unmet direct dependencies warning since these
symbols could only be selected for X86 || ARM.
The fix it, the CHROME_PLATFORMS dependencies were relexed on commit
d12bbcd3ea ("platform/chrome: Don't make CHROME_PLATFORMS depends
on X86 || ARM") but that was found to be wrong and the correct fix
is to add the needed dependencies to the MFD_CROS_EC config symbol.
There are only x86 and ARM based Chromebooks so to avoid showing up
the config option on unsupported platforms, make the symbol depend on
these architectures. Also add a || COMPILE_TEST so it can have build
coverage on other platforms.

The ChromeOS EC SPI and I2C transport drivers depends on CROS_EC_PROTO
but MFD_CROS_EC select CROS_EC_PROTO instead. Mixing select and depends
on is bad practice as it may lead to circular Kconfig dependencies.
Since these drivers already depend on MFD_CROS_EC and that config option
already selects CROS_EC_PROTO, there is no need to make them explicitly
depend on CROS_EC_PROTO since that dependency is already met.

Add a cell for the usb power_supply part of the axp20x PMICs.
Note that this cell is only for the usb power_supply part and not the
ac-power / battery-charger / rtc-backup-bat-charger bits.
Depending on the board each of those must be enabled / disabled separately
in devicetree as most boards do not use all 4. So in dt each one needs its
own child-node of the axp20x node. Another reason for using separate child
nodes for each is so that other devicetree nodes can have a power-supply
property with a phandle referencing a node representing a single
power-supply.
The decision to use a separate devicetree node for each is reflected on
the kernel side by each getting its own mfd-cell / platform_device and
platform-driver.
Note this commit also makes some whitespace changes to the intialization
of existing cells in axp20x_cells, these are pure whitespace changes,
functionally nothing changes.

The I2C core always reports the MODALIAS uevent as "i2c:<client name"
regardless if the driver was matched using the I2C id_table or the
of_match_table. So technically there's no need for a driver to export
the OF table since currently it's not used.
In fact, the I2C device ID table is mandatory for I2C drivers since
a i2c_device_id is passed to the driver's probe function even if the
I2C core used the OF table to match the driver.
And since the I2C core uses different tables, OF-only drivers needs to
have duplicated data that has to be kept in sync and also the dev node
compatible manufacturer prefix is stripped when reporting the MODALIAS.
To avoid the above, the I2C core behavior may be changed in the future
to not require an I2C device table for OF-only drivers and report the
OF module alias. So, it's better to also export the OF table to prevent
breaking module autoloading if that happens.

set_irq_flags is ARM specific with custom flags which have genirq
equivalents. Convert drivers to use the genirq interfaces directly, so we
can kill off set_irq_flags. The translation of flags is as follows:
IRQF_VALID -> !IRQ_NOREQUEST
IRQF_PROBE -> !IRQ_NOPROBE
IRQF_NOAUTOEN -> IRQ_NOAUTOEN
For IRQs managed by an irqdomain, the irqdomain core code handles clearing
and setting IRQ_NOREQUEST already, so there is no need to do this in
.map() functions and we can simply remove the set_irq_flags calls. Some
users also modify IRQ_NOPROBE and this has been maintained although it
is not clear that is really needed. There appears to be a great deal of
blind copy and paste of this code.

The regmap register definitions have been a source of many small fixes
as issues are discovered. As such I made a small automated tool to
check these definitions. This patch fixes the issues (mostly harmless)
located by that tool, the issues fall into three catagories:
1) Volatile registers that have a default in the defaults table (default
has been removed from the table since it is redundant)
2) Registers that are marked as volatile but unreadable (register has
been removed from the volatile list since it is obviously not being
used)
3) Registers that arn't readable but have an entry in the defaults
table (again removed since it is redundant)
4) Readable non-volatile registers that are missing a default, these are
dangerous as they won't get synced during a cache sync. Fortunately,
most of them seem to be registers that shouldn't be there (for example
wm5102 had readable registers for DRC2 and ISRC3 which is doesn't have)
Hopefully another tool will be produced to check the actual default
values themselves but that is outside the scope of this patch.

The ChromeOS EC SPI transport driver has a dependency on OF because it
uses some OF helpers from the <linux/of.h> header. But there isn't a
need for an explicit dependency since the header has stub functions if
CONFIG_OF is not defined.

a dependency on OF so in practice can't be selected without CONFIG_OF.

The function arizona_irq_thread (the threaded handler for the arizona
IRQs) calls pm_runtime_get_sync at the start to ensure that the chip is
active as we handle the IRQ. If the chip is part way through a runtime
suspend when an IRQ arrives the PM core will wait for the suspend to
complete, before resuming. However, since commit 4f0216409f7c
("mfd: arizona: Add better support for system suspend") the runtime
suspend function may call disable_irq, if the chip is going to fully
power off, which will try to wait for any outstanding IRQs to complete.
This results in deadlock as the IRQ thread is waiting for the PM
operation to complete and the PM thread is waiting for the IRQ to
complete.
To avoid this situation we use disable_irq_nosync, which allows the
suspending thread to finish the suspend without waiting for the IRQ to
complete. This is safe because if an IRQ is being processed it can only
be blocked at the pm_runtime_get_sync at the start of the handler
otherwise it wouldn't be possible to suspend.

Intel Sunrisepoint (Skylake PCH) has the iTCO watchdog accessible across
the SMBus, unlike previous generations of PCH/ICH where it was on the
LPC bus. Because it's on the SMBus, it doesn't make sense to pass around
a 'struct lpc_ich_info', and leaking the type of bus into the iTCO
watchdog driver is kind of backwards anyway.
This change introduces a new 'struct itco_wdt_platform_data' for use
inside the iTCO watchdog driver and by the upcoming Intel Sunrisepoint
code, which neatly avoids having to include lpc_ich headers in the i801
i2c driver.
This change is overdue because lpc_ich_info has already found its way
into other TCO watchdog users, notably the intel_pmc_ipc driver where
the watchdog actually isn't on the LPC bus as far as I can see.
A simple translation layer is provided for converting from the existing
'struct lpc_ich_info' inside the lpc_ich mfd driver.

The twl4030 usb phy needs to be active while we are using
the USB VBUS as a current source for charging.
In particular, the usb3v1 regulator must be enabled and the
PHY_PWR_PHYPWD bit must be set to keep the phy powered.
commit ab37813f40
twl4030_charger: Allow charger to control the regulator that feeds it
gave the charger control over the regulator, but didn't resolve
the PHY_PWR_PHYPWD issue.
Now that both of these are controlled by runtime_pm in
phy-twl4030-usb, we can simply take a runtime_pm reference to the USB
phy whenever the charger wants to use it as a current source.
So this patch reverts the above commit, and adds the necessary
runtime_pm calls.

The new coming Intel platforms such as Skylake will contain Sunrisepoint PCH.
The main difference to the previous platforms is that the LPSS devices are
compound devices where usually main (SPI, HSUART, or I2C) and DMA IPs are
present.
This patch brings the driver for such devices found on Sunrisepoint PCH.

The newly introduced device_for_each_child_reverse() would be used when MFD
core removes the device.
After this patch applied the devices will be removed in a reversed order. This
behaviour is useful when devices have implicit dependency on order, i.e.
consider MFD device with serial bus controller, such as SPI, and DMA IP that is
attached to serial bus controller: before remove the DMA driver we have to be
ensured that no DMA transfers is ongoing and the requested channel are unused.

The ChromeOS EC SPI transport driver has a dependency on OF because it
uses some OF helpers from the <linux/of.h> header. But there isn't a
need for an explicit dependency since the header has stub functions if
CONFIG_OF is not defined.
Also, MFD_CROS_EC_SPI already depends on MFD_CROS_EC which in turn has
a dependency on OF so in practice can't be selected without CONFIG_OF.

The PM runtime core by default assumes a chip is suspended when runtime
PM is enabled. Currently the arizona driver enables runtime PM when the
chip is fully active and then disables the DCVDD regulator at the end of
arizona_dev_init. This however has several problems, firstly the if we
reach the end of arizona_dev_init, we did not properly follow all the
proceedures for shutting down the chip, and most notably we never marked
the chip as cache only so any writes occurring between then and the next
PM runtime resume will be lost. Secondly, if we are already resumed when
we reach the end of dev_init, then at best we get unbalanced regulator
enable/disables at work we lose DCVDD whilst we need it.
Additionally, since the commit 4f0216409f7c ("mfd: arizona: Add better
support for system suspend"), the PM runtime operations may
disable/enable the IRQ, so the IRQs must now be enabled before we call
any PM operations.
This patch adds a call to pm_runtime_set_active to inform the PM core
that the device is starting up active and moves the PM enabling to
around the IRQ initialisation to avoid any PM callbacks happening until
the IRQs are initialised.

This results in deadlock as the IRQ thread is waiting for the PM
operation to complete and the PM thread is waiting for the IRQ to
complete.
To avoid this situation we use disable_irq_nosync, which allows the
suspending thread to finish the suspend without waiting for the IRQ to
complete. This is safe because if an IRQ is being processed it can only
be blocked at the pm_runtime_get_sync at the start of the handler
otherwise it wouldn't be possible to suspend.

regmap: Create a new struct reg_sequence for register sequences
In order to allow us to start adding extra annotations for sequences
without bloating register default tables duplicate the structure under
the new name reg_sequence and update the APIs to use that instead of
reg_default.
Separate the functionality using sequences of register writes from the
functions that take register defaults. This change renames the arguments
in order to support the extension of reg_sequence to take an optional
delay to be applied after any given register in a sequence is written.
This avoids adding an int to all register defaults, which could
substantially increase memory usage for regmaps with large default tables.
This also updates all the clients of multi_reg_write/register_patch.

Using -1 as platform device id means that the platform driver core will not
assign any id to the device (the device name will not have id at all). This
results problems on systems that have multiple PCHs (Platform Controller
HUBs) because all of them also include their own copy of LPC device.
All the subsequent device creations will fail because there already exists
platform device with the same name.
Fix this by passing PLATFORM_DEVID_AUTO as platform device id. This makes
the platform device core to allocate new ids automatically.

Add MFD support for the DA9063 OnKey driver
The function da9063_clear_fault_log() is added to mitigate the case of a
hardware power-cut after a long-long OnKey press. Although there is no
software intervention in this case (by definition) such a shutdown would
cause persistent information within the DA9063 FAULT_LOG that would be
available during the next device restart.
Clearance of this persistent register must be completed after such a
hardware power-cut operation has happened so that the FAULT_LOG does not
continue with previous values. The clearance function has been added here
in the kernel driver because wiping the fault-log cannot be counted on
outside the Linux kernel.

Current code in mfd-core calls into ACPI to check resources even
on a system that booted with a DT (on kernels with both DT and ACPI
support compiled in). This triggers ACPI exceptions since we may
end up calling the ACPI interpreter when it has not been initialized:
"ACPI Exception: AE_BAD_PARAMETER, Thread 2064154624 could not acquire
Mutex [0x1] (20150410/utmutex-285)"
This patch fixes the issues by adding a check for an ACPI companion
device before carrying out ACPI resources checks to avoid calling
the ACPI interpreter if the fwnode representing the device is an OF one.

Allow the chip to completely power off if we enter runtime suspend and
there is no jack detection active. This is helpful for systems where
system suspend might remove the supplies to the CODEC, without informing
us. Note the powering off is done in runtime suspend rather than system
suspend, because we need to hold reset until the first time DCVDD is
powered anyway (which would be in runtime resume), and we might as well
save the extra power.

The wm5102 uses a custom boot sequence and the standard boot sequence is
disabled. However, the standard boot sequence must be run at least once
after a cold boot (caused by either a hard reset or removal of AVDD).
Unfortunately the register WRITE_SEQUENCER_CTRL_3 is not affected by the
hardware reset. This means if the device has been previously booted but
the AVDD supply has never been removed, arizona_dev_init will reset the
chip but the boot sequence will not run, which can cause numerous
problems. The solution is to manually clear this register and then boot
the chip again, which is what this patch does.

The MFD driver should only have the logic to instantiate its child devices
and setup any shared resources that will be used by the subdevices drivers.
The cros_ec MFD is more complex than expected since it also has helpers to
communicate with the EC. So the driver will only get more bigger as other
protocols are supported in the future. So move the communication protocol
helpers to its own driver as drivers/platform/chrome/cros_ec_proto.c.

Commit 1b84f2a4cd ("mfd: cros_ec: Use fixed size arrays to transfer
data with the EC") modified the struct cros_ec_command fields to not
use pointers for the input and output buffers and use fixed length
arrays instead.
This change was made because the cros_ec ioctl API uses that struct
cros_ec_command to allow user-space to send commands to the EC and
to get data from the EC. So using pointers made the API not 64-bit
safe. Unfortunately this approach was not flexible enough for all
the use-cases since there may be a need to send larger commands
on newer versions of the EC command protocol.
So to avoid to choose a constant length that it may be too big for
most commands and thus wasting memory and CPU cycles on copy from
and to user-space or having a size that is too small for some big
commands, use a zero-length array that is both 64-bit safe and
flexible. The same buffer is used for both output and input data
so the maximum of these values should be used to allocate it.

the external data bus. Only AXP221 is added for now. AXP223 will be
added after it's Reduced Serial Bus (RSB) interface is supported.
AXP22x defines a new set of registers, power supplies and regulators,
but most of the API is similar to the AXP20x ones.
A new irq chip definition is used, even though the available interrupts
on AXP22x is a subset of those on AXP20x. This is done so the interrupt
numbers match those on the datasheet.
This patch only enables the interrupts, system power-off function, and PEK

In our department we are using some older Janz ICAN3-modules in our dekstop
pcs. There we have slightly different carrier boards than the janz-cmodio
supported in the kernel sources, called CAN-PCI2 with two submodules. But the
pci configuration regions are identical. So extending the supported pci devices
to the corresponding device ids is sufficient to get the drivers working.
* The old ICAN3-modules with firmware 1.28 need more then 250ms for the restart
after reset. I've increased the timeout to 500ms.
* The janz_ican3 module uses the raw can services of the Janz-firmware, this
means firmware must be ICANOS/2. Our ICAN3-modules are equipped with
CAL/CANopen-firmware, so I must use the appropriate commands for the layer
management services.
Te driver detects the firmware after module reset and selects the commands
matching the firmware. This affects the bus on/off-command
(ican3_set_bus_state) and the configuration of the bittiming
(ican3_set_bittiming). For better diagnostics the detected firmware string is
presented as sysfs attribute (fwinfo).

Main new things this cycle is:
- Driver changes to expose the lightbar to users. With this, you can make your
own blinkenlights on Chromebook Pixels.
- Changes in the way that the atmel_mxt trackpads are probed. The laptop driver
is trying to be smart and not instantiate the devices that don't answer to
probe. For the trackpad that can come up in two modes (bootloader or regular),
this gets complicated since the driver already knows how to handle the two
modes including the actual addresses used. So now the laptop driver needs to
know more too, instantiating the regular address even if the bootloader one
is the probe that passed.
- mfd driver improvements by Javier Martines Canillas, and a few bugfixes
