dt-bindings: soc: qcom: Fix default clock-freq for qcom,geni-i2c
In an early version of the I2C patch that was posted to the list the default I2C frequency (if none was specified) was 400 kHz. There was debate on the list and we decided that it would be more consistent with the rest of i2c if we defaulted to 100 kHz. ...but we never updated the bindings. Let's fix this. NOTE: since the i2c driver itself hasn't actually landed yet and the SoC here is very new it seems terribly unlikely that anyone was relying on the old 400 kHz number, so I'll assume this is an OK "incompatible" device tree change. ARM: SoC: late updates
This is a branch with a few merge requests that either came in late, or took a while longer for us to review and merge than usual and thus cut it a bit close to the merge window. We stage them in a separate branch and if things look good, we still send them up -- and that's the case here. This is mostly DT additions for Renesas platforms, adding IP block descriptions for existing and new SoCs. There are also some driver updates for Qualcomm platforms for SMEM/QMI and GENI, which is their generalized serial protocol interface. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQJDBAABCAAtFiEElf+HevZ4QCAJmMQ+jBrnPN6EHHcFAlsfCVIPHG9sb2ZAbGl4 b20ubmV0AAoJEIwa5zzehBx3KOcP/3O2+igstXt5rhemITdyi8rHkrIHPgetf25e ISBQzYrQOHV21SqT4le/Gk2CCQ6iX5Nv2DYoIrCzFWi/4DoDxXvryczQLla02Nru i8fcuxae7aFGW7/97G1+cATGPwuBLPiKXs6Wj01sKHeLBja5Det7eoXuHag7Y/Lo 4ls9wNZybMdlCcGm6+ULdj+XUdRyYUhOQQYvnPm2Q8hEkM+AiwLOBJTFwef9P5ad mX37kPDfwCxYwQXgZB1RkK/oJu0G2mTZXmGH5o+s+9yAyAupCQhmHGOrt3mlOf7j tLRlSgarJlO/QGIpJmDuCcxt3msD3OMd2dPbdgwojdpvycOU8EVWYLmCRpyIWQXv DCv9A9Gp4KlJnwxheVegBtilRA1aKsGuarWq6yeyOFt8N23Bgg/IjYKI9JF5+hPD M4q1oVAbUlfWb79rEc+TB0d7euREBkNn4TzzKMSOyP3eGUrXR0WUlq2A2VLxgIJo cx/ufY7CwvRgV+VxfhRbca+FmwDnu7uqzwLe73Ys2hnsuv8hXEtc+vSybqKqxVeU nHpWAqwaWhijlJiGq722vPo8avrLwjsxRwimogvijtesz9ZlTqrGtjkg61+eN2h8 eeuyRAsMUfVRiKuL3W+q4s0rzIauormnKsvRScKVyNFuiJfrfYb1odLoDGaOV/9G dQ7hA7TW =RUL0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'armsoc-late' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM SoC late updates from Olof Johansson: "This is a branch with a few merge requests that either came in late, or took a while longer for us to review and merge than usual and thus cut it a bit close to the merge window. ARM: Device-tree updates
As always, a large number of DT updates. Too many to enumerate them all, but at a glance: New SoCs introduced in this release: - Amlogic: + Meson 8M2 SoC, a.k.a. S812. A quad Cortex-A9 SoC used in some set top boxes and other products. - Mediatek: + MT7623A, which is a flavor of the MT7623 family with other on-chip ethernet options. - Qualcomm: + SDM845, a.k.a Snapdragon 845, an 4+4-core Kryo 385/845 (Cortex-A75/A55 derivative) SoC that's one of the current high-end mobile SoCs. It's great to see mainline support for it. So far, you can't do much with it, since a lot of peripherals are not yet in the DTs but driver support for USB, GPU and other pieces are starting to trickle in. This might end up being a well-supported SoC upstream if the momentum keeps up. - Renesas: + R8A77990, a.k.a R-Car E3, a new automotive entertainment-targeted SoC. Currently only one Cortex-A53 CPU is enabled, we are eagerly awaiting more. So far, basic drivers such as serial, gpios, PMU and ethernet are enabled. + R8A77470, a.k.a. RZ/G1C, a new dual Cortex-A7 SoC with PowerVR GPU. Same here, basic set of drivers such as serial, gpios and ethernet enabled, and SMP support is also forthcoming. - STMicroelectronics: + STM32F469, very similar tih STM32F429 but with display support Enhancements to SoCs/platforms (DTS contents, some driver portions might not be in yet): - Allwinner sun8i (h3/a33/a83t) SMP, DVFS tweaks, misc - Amlogic Meson: I2C, UFS, TDM, GPIO external interrupts, MMC resets - Hisilicon hi3660: Thermal cooling, CPU frequency scaling, mailbox interfaces - Marvell Berlin2CD: SMP support, thermal sensors - Mediatek MT7623: Highspeed DMA, audio support - Qualcomm IPQ8074 PCIe support, MSM8996 UFS support - Renesas: Watchdog and PMU support across many platforms - Rockchip RK3399: USB3 OTG support - Samsung Exynos: Audio-over-HDMI on Odroid X/X2/U3 - STMicro STM32: Lots of peripherals added to STM32MP175C - Uniphier: Ethernet support New boards: - Allwinner A20: Olimex A20-SOM-EVB-eMMC variant - Allwinner H2+: Libre Computer ALL-H3-CC (h2+ version) - Allwinner A33: Nintendo NES/SuperNES Classic Edition - Aspeed: S2600WF, Inventec Lanyang BMC, Portwell Neptune - Berlin2CD: Valve Steam Link - Broadcom BCM5301X: Luxul XAP-1610 and XWR-3150 V1 - Broadcom: Raspberry Pi 3 B+ - Mediatek MT7623N and MT7623A: reference boards - Meson 8M2: Tronsmart MXIII Plus - NXP i.MX: Engicam i.CoreM6, DHCOM iMX6 SOM, BTicino i.MX6DL Mamoj - Qualcomm MSM8974: Sony Xperia Z1 Compact support - Qualcomm SDM845: MTP development board - Renesas: Ebisu R8A77990 board - Renesas RZ/G1C: iwg23s: iWave G235-SDB - TI am335x: Pocketbeagle support -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQJDBAABCAAtFiEElf+HevZ4QCAJmMQ+jBrnPN6EHHcFAlsfBtUPHG9sb2ZAbGl4 b20ubmV0AAoJEIwa5zzehBx3wfYQAI1hlPhRx7H1zbc59zdlW6daY7y1+dXuqoCs K5Hxsurlsbnx9fjeGcBp/razL5YtdZmBYII8IBhKzhLKp/A0gqmX7W9pTNQj9/Sp SOIl8dci/yr0HUpgwc4IdVhJBdpplv48GK3q8opSocI/J9dnD873NHLlvTpCB+Jy GCD9tB56JnOfTO+n0Yg+tyuig1jIQCc52Iwnmxv2vYPbsHUaEmqz1Z+wBe0BaDk+ eVsohNQI/2xxRzv8PE13H/ojcZ532rF45aw6ypRwCvg1MzCYXSdKLJlIWx8Ci581 YmRPlCOWai+AxSATgJhIR9n9dxn6hqxEgVyu7AOxPVa0O4DKB3oy8PPo5wlOCKcU J1n5zJwnULWw4eVa1ag/cEMbz95QMC1F9MmyiLUfz3esHwyD/Gl3ks9v1gwn9XYp xsI+oGnMy/Uz4oZ1/XM5CO5UUDXyixVD3pYEF8wLaYX2JY8zETI5qfvNL0bwZX3P lLFCI7Xdwsk3+HCp7aHs4KkWHLVGq65SxrXKTIpU+vEq+0RYiV/cWP9Swa/RNrMH gB00oZ2TBRuIr/KxsCKyCkKApocW4J4WtZ2sMY7QDXzW68lq8oIbefY+6Abgk4/7 6J7D5n0gmTB38wrzZCY5UF0eQrLjPwnxuLywEll5oLFbNTr/7Aruk2kFYEMGjM9E QmXGoHXU =jLvk -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'armsoc-dt' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM SoC device tree updates from Olof Johansson: "As always, a large number of DT updates. soc: ti: K2G: enhancement to support QMSS in K2G NAVSS
Navigator Subsystem (NAVSS) available on K2G SoC has a cut down version of QMSS with less number of queues, internal linking ram with lesser number of buffers etc. It doesn't have status and explicit push register space as in QMSS available on other K2 SoCs. So define reg indices specific to QMSS on K2G. This patch introduces "ti,66ak2g-navss-qm" compatibility to identify QMSS on K2G NAVSS and to customize the dts handling code. Per Device manual, descriptors with index less than or equal to regions0_size is in region 0 in the case of K2 QMSS where as for QMSS on K2G, descriptors with index less than regions0_size is in region 0. So update the size accordingly in the regions0_size bits of the linking ram size 0 register. ARM: SoC driver updates for 4.17
The main addition this time around is the new ARM "SCMI" framework, which is the latest in a series of standards coming from ARM to do power management in a platform independent way. This has been through many review cycles, and it relies on a rather interesting way of using the mailbox subsystem, but in the end I agreed that Sudeep's version was the best we could do after all. Other changes include: - the ARM CCN driver is moved out of drivers/bus into drivers/perf, which makes more sense. Similarly, the performance monitoring portion of the CCI driver are moved the same way and cleaned up a little more. - a series of updates to the SCPI framework - support for the Mediatek mt7623a SoC in drivers/soc - support for additional NVIDIA Tegra hardware in drivers/soc - a new reset driver for Socionext Uniphier - lesser bug fixes in drivers/soc, drivers/tee, drivers/memory, and drivers/firmware and drivers/reset across platforms -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 iQIcBAABAgAGBQJaxiNzAAoJEGCrR//JCVInYhYP/2kPhc5t/kszA1bcklcbO9dY eX37Ra/RR4yQ5yeQZVIZ4UkUovxk9PmG2tM4K5oJaTDsz5pPEgavVOOr3sbfj6vb 4O9auTeysEQlHcbVdNFum0YS2gUY2YD7D12DTRorotLxCqod184ccWXq0XGfIWaY l3YRrcL/lPlqmyS3z/GNx9oNygOMUzEfXfIQYICyzHuYiLBUGnkKC1vIb+Hx1TDq Cxk++AUqH13Mss24O2A2QQh+oBHj2BybDLLqwcC5PSpsUbFrVCfzG54l43mig32T NOxV0Qnml2wAtU4H0QcgtSgwRimHD0YOiX8ssquvDDiqTqM5G+llSTGkEbYe+AUW 4GIZYoBOwGkfEXS+tyymHe9yfc5h1OLYAeFU1jRm723c7phanuu67rPn35YC8UMK zSql10JpkAGNzMikrxxb6wnis951w2UFlzhgZQ6ItA/nRq3l+oEQA0Qiljv965nz DVLsD5+gdhK6GBctkzlsD5HFn6GjM8JilnsOVPHD765nKnVBSxKiXRLV228XVug2 rChF1FhQqLnM54jCMqHZX5fS9SbSgtYswHqIXpVw6GmJkqq/Ly10yGR0vuWD+uyn BV7q5AKpGrwm6wZkMM2uZ1VdUtWzn856AbkqrvX/QhmJcX4McuqaLUrC8bSOj1ty KeVil0akq3nU+xHl5Ojs =Pmsx -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'armsoc-drivers' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM SoC driver updates from Arnd Bergmann: "The main addition this time around is the new ARM "SCMI" framework, which is the latest in a series of standards coming from ARM to do power management in a platform independent way. powerpc/8xx: Adding support of IRQ in MPC8xx GPIO
This patch allows the use of IRQ to notify the change of GPIO status on MPC8xx CPM IO ports. This then allows to associate IRQs to GPIOs in the Device Tree. Ex: CPM1_PIO_C: gpio-controller@960 { #gpio-cells = <2>; compatible = "fsl,cpm1-pario-bank-c"; reg = <0x960 0x10>; fsl,cpm1-gpio-irq-mask = <0x0fff>; interrupts = <1 2 6 9 10 11 14 15 23 24 26 31>; interrupt-parent = <&CPM_PIC>; gpio-controller; }; The property 'fsl,cpm1-gpio-irq-mask' defines which of the 16 GPIOs have the associated interrupts defined in the 'interrupts' property. remoteproc updates for v4.10
Introduces remoteproc "subdevice" support, which allows remoteproc driver to associate devices to the "running" state of the remoteproc, allowing devices to be probed and removed as the remote processor is booted, shut down or recovering from a crash. Handling of virtio device resources was improved, vring memory is now allocated as part of other memory allocation. This ensures that all vrings for all virtio devices are allocated before we boot the remote processor. The debugfs mechanism for starting and stopping remoteproc instances was replaced with a sysfs interface, also providing a mechanism for specifying firmware to use by the instance. This allows user space to load and boot use case specific firmware on remote processors. New drivers for the ST Slimcore and Qualcomm Hexagon DSP as well as removal of the unused StE modem loader. Finally support for crash recovery in the Qualcomm Wirelss subsystem (used for WiFi/BT/FM on a number of platforms) and a number of bug fixes and cleanups. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 iQIcBAABAgAGBQJYTzfjAAoJEAsfOT8Nma3Fcs0P/irQd7U3gW14XFnl4ObdCOSO WlfG6jYP3fkWYA/ynxmu1FbRsyjP1aCrTRmW7oUGtTjCey8oUj69jo2+nLm0yx1k EtaTM+72hc7wULaGCBVvmA+LdQRRmTof9uJEjKvDyC8FAY0Thyvu77qlXQ5BrJkN o9xNVPDne/1RZx8vVI/zGEeL5+pNK1LXVy0vtFdG89acimu8yIJWJGS0IabnEWLs 8US6kpxROwkLefuTD4Rs4ByL6S5+1pHwVM6L/5GxsMawMzOhvzYgRa0SNNh7cNO/ e5ND7dUTcCt7lMOnpbSfqm2BbVRky6ATsoYrOdnVEH9sYJkQ9pMONadHIlVZFwce YVDp0UwEasf2IMtAFlvxDI31C5Wm8lpYOL7eixkkVrI1DJaBj8+Ih38F2IruWl9R QeDSFH/8a9l6fyN6RIUuPR8b1eeurl+CDoYWKEN6vzXDSi8GqsElB70xIAN/Umdq wdJvJByfitYLKEHenG5+mnQrDTQJ0C2f45hynkTCfJY1Qdl6nsMQi5sZFrE8HpOs dXFnpg/YK98wWmjyADEYDziH2y5oMHM6r5uljjcKOJDnzwLsDh8WQqhH4dNPNZBA 2+b4ouhbJLwYMM3zpem8JvV0rIsXvn3Kc8VNKcWOtHymkn8hLQ6Zexsr+RkbttQL Em5DvXL5lPm7wVYHvgP8 =/1kU -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'rproc-v4.10' of git://github.com/andersson/remoteproc Pull remoteproc updates from Bjorn Andersson: - introduce remoteproc "subdevice" support, which allows remoteproc driver to associate devices to the "running" state of the remoteproc, allowing devices to be probed and removed as the remote processor is booted, shut down or recovering from a crash. - handling of virtio device resources was improved, vring memory is now allocated as part of other memory allocation. First round of new features, device support and cleanups for IIO in the 4.9 cycle.
Device support * ak8974 - New driver and bindings for this 2009 vintage magnetometer (it was very popular back then!) * atlas-ph-sensor - ORP sensor support(I had to look up what one of these was) * cio-dac - New driver for Measurement Computing DAC boards * dmard06 - New driver for Domintech DMARDO6 accelerometer. Also vendor prefix. * dmard09 - New driver for Domintech DMARD09 accelerometer. * maxim-thermocouple - max6675 and max31855 new driver * mt6577 auxdac - new driver for this Mediatek chip mt2701, mt6577 and mt8173 have this hardware. * ti-adc161s626 - new driver for this TI single channel differential ADC. * vcnl4000 - support vcnl4010 and vcnl4020 which are compatible for all features currently supported by this driver. New features * Core - Allow retrieving of underlying iio_dev from a callback buffer handle. This is needed to allow client drivers to perform operations such as configuring the trigger used. * hid-sensors - asynchronous resume support to avoid really long resume times. * kxcjk-1013 - add the mysterious KIOX000A ACPI id seen in the wild. * Tools - lsiio now enumerates processed as well as raw channels. Cleanup * ad7298 - use iio_device_claim_direct_mode and friends to simplify locking around mode switching and drop some boilerplate. * ad7793 - use iio_device_claim_direct_mode and friends to simplify locking around mode switching and drop some boilerplate. * |

ARM: SoC driver updates for v4.7
Driver updates for ARM SoCs, these contain various things that touch the drivers/ directory but got merged through arm-soc for practical reasons. For the most part, this is now related to power management controllers, which have not yet been abstracted into a separate subsystem, and typically require some code in drivers/soc or arch/arm to control the power domains. Another large chunk here is a rework of the NVIDIA Tegra USB3.0 support, which was surprisingly tricky and took a long time to get done. Finally, reset controller handling as always gets merged through here as well. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 iQIVAwUAVzuXkGCrR//JCVInAQKb5BAAv2HuJ/tDjC8nNfYi0/aIt4uaRfRWE84t +nIpdKl/pB9AQo+HdG9WNihHs2GN44PdQRrDZ1enQX8nvTzc+dUl0AI1GZmUDpF/ zCV2UJ39HMZcEPwf8lZk9X/JP4VOkJDM5pDgNZnnqdvkq0oqtKzmh0Kt6m2g6fIS LR3FVtCRxJDeT+pT+EpoN4jpW0cb3mjTWbn/a8Ar3BH07KBA3U22MVJhHArLjS30 /aXP+AkgdvlgmBher5z44N6Qd/KOLn78rnE4LCRC4FwSCqA+qqPJQNGNblV5MHjE s5CYTqlihqLiGapqJ4zGBhmqj0XU/3kFVboGqYlTGjzMkOFgjddTpMdfkBUoG5oJ UubJ51zzSLXTcMwILGNXVls4YjJRKwNH7jeSjuMqpWrAYP4qBcMn/HQ1GqUjkNv+ yWkheHiLDYgYkIDOBDuFUtJ7OXiVumGGxIE+r2K/sXeNI7gFcDxFExMIo11vPAWP WJ8ydTchyb/RUQbzhjEXhoIeCZwXQfe9s11qsyFQDCZLleWYQGs3gFKdEI1E7+BE oe018BSP+uaVXdaV18Ne4smwzydLAU9/ieUoO45PAUSN2reV4lWhFTlNiiiMd3Id IWoYwpxqP2VW9zJvLz6QGF/P+3cZ00m/1lecJCKHHPBmbUijCHWJmgLT73AdSXmR YIJ2UM5QMiY= =x+iD -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'armsoc-drivers' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM SoC driver updates from Arnd Bergmann: "Driver updates for ARM SoCs, these contain various things that touch the drivers/ directory but got merged through arm-soc for practical reasons. ARM: SoC driver updates for v4.5
Driver updates for ARM SoCs. Some for SoC-family code under drivers/soc, but also some other driver updates that don't belong anywhere else. We also bring in the drivers/reset code through arm-soc. Some of the larger updates: - Qualcomm support for SMEM, SMSM, SMP2P. All used to communicate with other parts of the chip/board on these platforms, all proprietary protocols that don't fit into other subsystems and live in drivers/soc for now. - System bus driver for UniPhier - Driver for the TI Wakeup M3 IPC device - Power management for Raspberry PI + Again a bunch of other smaller updates and patches. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 iQIcBAABAgAGBQJWnsLfAAoJEIwa5zzehBx3KVcQAJS90XyeheS3LX+SUMsn5qAJ Q+NLzfYAAHZPafruOTcBATs9xUvuJM4KsdqXIWiA4gJig/ZFpF5dpDbrnhpdJFEK 0ULSfZd9J4B4m7aBo6L8lVBEbd4i++updHpIYnmPx3tkLL0Win/VM8KlMpdOzMQN DncNFVIRJ80OxepdHgBu6yY7gv3Z8XhRrNukeG8EZTvHw5bJQHfjMOeAQNQWUmWa HLyO6uqYkca38XMJOhPhqt0mOpwh/X6ByUueIrIMpOksJcRnklrkjDnBuvp9dQ+8 fU1sOjjYzQPiA6Oa3o/2ruBKj2FymLJ0OzONJb3xPiBO5bJbc1LJwK00tuIRC3hv r9Jqoqwae/AolqYephfao/LvUcoyHBaZ6aSbGQYms0Wy2FCkkkocfY2i7QP6S6Mz qtOCHxX+yF921AEZ1xTOKgBvBU931WM1MQOe4s1QVllRlLFJhrGqDDwsNlPwRa+6 OkXmPJSEhsHGFaCdA3iOEy+/W2dvMbVOaGa9csNDpPcSJhhpxc5A4CYRlFSwGyM1 oL20g1T3ybDP+EkNcdpavWdQ55toWGmm48PunIZImVSdgNRZZQJw107yA/UzQTNz kOg27kqtjpM4xcpxmwGlIj4Zoy1M390ACm+n79Awa9agvjOvfV4QE1tLB4tiXyuy 0Pxy8WWL/G5Si8bKWsfc =khZ5 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'armsoc-drivers' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM SoC driver updates from Olof Johansson: "Driver updates for ARM SoCs.
