The smc91x driver traditionally gets configured at compile-time
for whichever hardware it runs on. This no longer works on
ARM as we continue to move to building all-in-one kernels.
Most ARM configurations with this driver already use run-time
configuration through DT or through platform_data, but a
few have not been converted yet.
I've checked all ARM boards that use this driver in their
legacy board files, and converted the ones that were using
compile-time configuration in smc91x.h to behave like the
other ones and provide the interrupt polarity along with
the MMIO configuration (width, stride) at platform device
creation time.
In particular, these combinations were previously selectable
in Kconfig but in fact broken:
- sa1100 assabet plus pleb
- msm combined with any other armv6/v7 platform
- pxa-idp combined with any non-DMA pxa variant
- LogicPD PXA270 combined with any other pxa
- nomadik combined with any other armv4/v5 platform,
e.g. versatile.
None of these seem critical enough to warrant a backport
to stable, but it would be nice to clean this up for good.

I would like the patch to get merged through netdev, after
Robert and/or Linus have verified it on at least some hardware.
There are a few other non-ARM platforms using this driver,
I could do the same patch for those if we want to take
it further.

StrongARM core uses RCSR SMR bit to tell to bootloader that it was reset
by entering the sleep mode. After we have resumed, there is little point
in having that bit enabled. Moreover, if this bit is set before reboot,
the bootloader can become confused. Thus clear the SMR bit on resume
just before clearing the scratchpad (resume address) register.

Low GPIO pins use an interrupt in SC interrupts space. However it's
possible to handle them as if all the GPIO interrupts are instead tied
to single GPIO handler, which later decodes GEDR register and
chain-calls next IRQ handler. So split first 11 interrupts into system
part (IRQ_GPIO0_SC - IRQ_GPIO10_SC) which work exactly like the rest of
system controller interrupts and real GPIO interrupts
(IRQ_GPIO0..IRQ_GPIO10). A single handler sa1100_gpio_handler then
decodes and calls next handler.

While there normally is no reason to have a pull request for asm-generic
but have all changes get merged through whichever tree needs them, I do
have a series for 3.19. There are two sets of patches that change
significant portions of asm/io.h, and this branch contains both in order
to resolve the conflicts:
- Will Deacon has done a set of patches to ensure that all architectures
define {read,write}{b,w,l,q}_relaxed() functions or get them by
including asm-generic/io.h. These functions are commonly used on ARM
specific drivers to avoid expensive L2 cache synchronization implied by
the normal {read, write}{b,w,l,q}, but we need to define them on all
architectures in order to share the drivers across architectures and
to enable CONFIG_COMPILE_TEST configurations for them
- Thierry Reding has done an unrelated set of patches that extends
the asm-generic/io.h file to the degree necessary to make it useful
on ARM64 and potentially other architectures.

Both SA1100 framebuffer and PCMCIA drivers require knowledge of cpu
frequency to correctly program timings. Currently they receive timing
information by calling cpufreq_get(0). However if cpu frequency driver
is not enabled (e.g. due to unsupported DRAM chip/board on sa1110)
cpufreq_get(0) returns 0, causing incorrect timings to be programmed.

The platforms selecting NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H defined the start address of
their physical memory in the respective <mach/memory.h>. With
ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT=y (which is quite common today) this is useless
though because the definition isn't used but determined dynamically.
So remove the definitions from all <mach/memory.h> and provide the
Kconfig symbol PHYS_OFFSET with the respective defaults in case
ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT isn't enabled.
This allows to drop the dependency of PHYS_OFFSET on !NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H
which prevents compiling an integrator nommu-kernel.
(CONFIG_PAGE_OFFSET which has "default PHYS_OFFSET if !MMU" expanded to
"0x" because CONFIG_PHYS_OFFSET doesn't exist as INTEGRATOR selects
NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H.)

ARM: sa1100: collie.c: fall back to jedec_probe flash detection
Unfortunately the detection was challenged on the defective unit used for tests:
one of the NOR chips did not respond to the CFI query.
Moreover that bad device needed extra delays on erase-suspend/resume cycles.
Tested personally on 3 different units and with feedback of two other users.

Notable changes are:
* We finally remove all mach/timex.h, after CLOCK_TICK_RATE is no

* The Qualcomm MSM platform is split out into legacy mach-msm and
new-style mach-qcom, to allow easier maintainance of the new

* mach-bcm3528 gets merged into mach-bcm (Stephen Warren)
* at91 gains some common clock framework support (Alexandre Belloni,

Due to a problem in the MFD Kconfig it was not possible to
compile the UCB battery driver for the Collie SA1100 system,
in turn making it impossible to compile in the battery driver.
(See patch "mfd: include all drivers in subsystem menu".)
After fixing the MFD Kconfig (separate patch) a compile error
appears in the Collie battery driver due to the <mach/collie.h>
implicitly requiring <mach/hardware.h> through <linux/gpio.h>
via <mach/gpio.h> prior to commit
40ca061b "ARM: 7841/1: sa1100: remove complex GPIO interface".

Merge tag 'pm+acpi-3.14-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/rafael/linux-pm
Pull ACPI and power management updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"As far as the number of commits goes, the top spot belongs to ACPI
this time with cpufreq in the second position and a handful of PM
core, PNP and cpuidle updates. They are fixes and cleanups mostly, as
usual, with a couple of new features in the mix.
The most visible change is probably that we will create struct
acpi_device objects (visible in sysfs) for all devices represented in
the ACPI tables regardless of their status and there will be a new
sysfs attribute under those objects allowing user space to check that
status via _STA.
Consequently, ACPI device eject or generally hot-removal will not
delete those objects, unless the table containing the corresponding
namespace nodes is unloaded, which is extremely rare. Also ACPI
container hotplug will be handled quite a bit differently and cpufreq
will support CPU boost ("turbo") generically and not only in the
acpi-cpufreq driver.
Specifics:
- ACPI core changes to make it create a struct acpi_device object for
every device represented in the ACPI tables during all namespace
scans regardless of the current status of that device. In
accordance with this, ACPI hotplug operations will not delete those
objects, unless the underlying ACPI tables go away.

There are some parts of common kernel which would be using routines
like clk_get_rate() on some platforms. Currently, they wouldn't be
called for SA1100 boards, but they are needed for successful kernel
compilation.
Create a dummy clk_get_rate() routine for SA1100 which can be called
by the cpufreq core. More dummy routines might be added later if
necessary.
