Linus Torvalds e10abc629f TTY and Serial driver update for 4.7-rc1
Here's the large TTY and Serial driver update for 4.7-rc1.

 A few new serial drivers are added here, and Peter has fixed a bunch of
 long-standing bugs in the tty layer and serial drivers as normal. Full
 details in the shortlog.

 All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported issues.

Martin Schwidefsky 0c75691492 s390/3270: hangup the 3270 tty after a disconnect
The disconnect and later reconnect of a 3270 terminal does not do
a tty hangup. The current session is resumed which is a security
issue.

Do a tty hangup after a unit check has been received.

Martin Schwidefsky 7e36eff1ee s390/3270: handle reconnect of a tty with a different size
If an existing 3270 terminal disconnects and reconnects with a
different size, the 3270 driver still works with the old size.
If the new dimensions are larger the output merely looks funny,
if the new dimensions are smaller the terminal is unusable.

To fix this restart the size detection after a unit check has
been received.

Martin Schwidefsky 8340ab60b3 s390/3270: avoid endless I/O loop with disconnected 3270 terminals
If a 3270 terminal is disconnected while the tty view is active
the 3270 driver goes into an endless loop of failed I/O requests
until the terminal is connected again.

Add code to the raw3270 interrupt handler to check for unit checks
due to failed I/O requests and put the device to sleep with the
RAW3270_FLAGS_BUSY flag until a unsolicited device end interrupt
indicates that the device can be used again. while we are at it
simplify the 3270 irq handling and remove unnecessary code.

Martin Schwidefsky 2e63a3a666 s390/3270: fix garbled output on 3270 tty view
The tty3270_update function tries to optimize the output stream by
skipping the TO_SBA command to position the output offset if the
TO_RA command of the previous line ended at the same offset.
But some lines do not have the TO_RA at the end, namely those
with a length equal to the number of columns.

Make sure there is a TO_RA at the end of the previous line to avoid
funny looking output.

Peter Hurley d41861ca19 tty: Replace ASYNC_INITIALIZED bit and update atomically
Replace ASYNC_INITIALIZED bit in the tty_port::flags field with

tty_port_set_initialized() and tty_port_initialized() to abstract

Note: the transforms for test_and_set_bit() and test_and_clear_bit()

Martin Schwidefsky 532c34b5fb s390/sclp_ctl: fix potential information leak with /dev/sclp
The sclp_ctl_ioctl_sccb function uses two copy_from_user calls to
retrieve the sclp request from user space. The first copy_from_user
fetches the length of the request which is stored in the first two
bytes of the request. The second copy_from_user gets the complete
sclp request, but this copies the length field a second time.
A malicious user may have changed the length in the meantime.

 "All kinds of stuff. That probably should've been 5 or 6 separate
  branches, but by the time I'd realized how large and mixed that bag
  had become it had been too close to -final to play with rebasing.

  Some fs/namei.c cleanups there, memdup_user_nul() introduction and
  switching open-coded instances, burying long-dead code, whack-a-mole
  of various kinds, several new helpers for ->llseek(), assorted
  cleanups and fixes from various people, etc.

  One piece probably deserves special mention - Neil's
  lookup_one_len_unlocked(). Similar to lookup_one_len(), but gets
  called without ->i_mutex and tries to avoid ever taking it. That, of
  course, means that it's not useful for any directory modifications,
  but things like getting inode attributes in nfds readdirplus are fine
  with that. I really should've asked for moratorium on lookup-related
  changes this cycle, but since I hadn't done that early enough... I
  *am* asking for that for the coming cycle, though - I'm going to try
  and get conversion of i_mutex to rwsem with ->lookup() done under lock
  taken shared.

  There will be a patch closer to the end of the window, along the lines
  of the one Linus had posted last May - mechanical conversion of
  ->i_mutex accesses to inode_lock()/inode_unlock()/inode_trylock()/
  inode_is_locked()/inode_lock_nested(). To quote Linus back then:

    -----
    | This is an automated patch using
    |
    |        sed 's/mutex_lock(&\(.*\)->i_mutex)/inode_lock(\1)/'
    |        sed 's/mutex_unlock(&\(.*\)->i_mutex)/inode_unlock(\1)/'
    |        sed 's/mutex_lock_nested(&\(.*\)->i_mutex,[     ]*I_MUTEX_\([A-Z0-9_]*\))/inode_lock_nested(\1, I_MUTEX_\2)/'
    |        sed 's/mutex_is_locked(&\(.*\)->i_mutex)/inode_is_locked(\1)/'
    |        sed 's/mutex_trylock(&\(.*\)->i_mutex)/inode_trylock(\1)/'
    |
    | with a very few manual fixups
    -----

  I'm going to send that once the ->i_mutex-affecting stuff in -next
  gets mostly merged (or when Linus says he's about to stop taking
  merges)"

Heiko Carstens c2ab7282f0 s390/sclp: fix possible control register corruption
sclp_sync_wait() disables all external interrupt classes except for
the service signal subclass.

The static mask used for that however is wrong. It clears a couple of
bits which shouldn't be cleared and on the other hand potentially does
not clear bits which should be cleared.

Fix this by using the same generic mask like we do it in our delay
implementation.

Linus Torvalds e627078a0c Merge branch 'for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/s390/linux
Pull s390 updates from Martin Schwidefsky:
 "There is only one new feature in this pull for the 4.4 merge window,
  most of it is small enhancements, cleanup and bug fixes:

   - Add the s390 backend for the software dirty bit tracking. This
     adds two new pgtable functions pte_clear_soft_dirty and
     pmd_clear_soft_dirty which is why there is a hit to
     arch/x86/include/asm/pgtable.h in this pull request.

   - A series of cleanup patches for the AP bus, this includes the
     removal of the support for two outdated crypto cards (PCICC and
     PCICA).

   - The irq handling / signaling on buffer full in the runtime
     instrumentation code is dropped.

   - Some micro optimizations: remove unnecessary memory barriers for a
     couple of functions: [smb_]rmb, [smb_]wmb, atomics, bitops, and for
     spin_unlock. Use the builtin bswap if available and make
     test_and_set_bit_lock more cache friendly.

   - Statistics and a tracepoint for the diagnose calls to the
     hypervisor.

   - The CPU measurement facility support to sample KVM guests is
     improved.

   - The vector instructions are now always enabled for user space
     processes if the hardware has the vector facility. This simplifies
     the FPU handling code. The fpu-internal.h header is split into fpu
     internals, api and types just like x86.

   - Cleanup and improvements for the common I/O layer.

   - Rework udelay to solve a problem with kprobe. udelay has busy loop
     semantics but still uses an idle processor state for the wait"

To invoke a "magic sysrequest" function, press "Ctrl+o" followed by a

The handling of the sysrq is scheduled away from the SCLP IRQ context;
because large amounts of sysrq output might fill up the console buffers.
The console might deadlock because it cannot empty the buffers while still
in the receiving IRQ context. This behavior is the same as for the SCLP
