Jesper Juhl b9cabe52c2 ieee802154: Don't leak memory in ieee802154_nl_fill_phy
In net/ieee802154/nl-phy.c::ieee802154_nl_fill_phy() I see two small
issues.
1) If the allocation of 'buf' fails we may just as well return -EMSGSIZE
directly rather than jumping to 'out:' and do a pointless kfree(0).
2) We do not free 'buf' unless we jump to one of the error labels and this
   leaks memory.
This patch should address both.

David S. Miller bfac3693c4 ieee802154: Remove hacked CFLAGS in net/ieee802154/Makefile
It adds -Wall (which the kernel carefully controls already) and of all
things -DDEBUG (which should be set by other means if desired, please
we have dynamic-debug these days).

Kill this noise.

While doing this analysis, I found a refcount bug in llc, I'll send a
patch for net-2.6

Meanwhile, here is the patch for net-next-2.6

Your patch then can be applied after mine.

Thanks

[PATCH] net: RCU conversion of dev_getbyhwaddr() and arp_ioctl()

dev_getbyhwaddr() was called under RTNL.

Rename it to dev_getbyhwaddr_rcu() and change all its caller to now use
RCU locking instead of RTNL.

Change arp_ioctl() to use RCU instead of RTNL locking.

Note: this fix a dev refcount bug in llc

Stefan Schmidt 93c0c8b4a5 ieee802154: Fix oops during ieee802154_sock_ioctl
Trying to run izlisten (from lowpan-tools tests) on a device that does not
exists I got the oops below. The problem is that we are using get_dev_by_name
without checking if we really get a device back. We don't in this case and
writing to dev->type generates this oops.

If possible this patch should be applied to the current -rc fixes branch.

Tejun Heo 5a0e3ad6af include cleanup: Update gfp.h and slab.h includes to prepare for breaking implicit slab.h inclusion from percpu.h
percpu.h is included by sched.h and module.h and thus ends up being
included when building most .c files. percpu.h includes slab.h which
in turn includes gfp.h making everything defined by the two files
universally available and complicating inclusion dependencies.

percpu.h -> slab.h dependency is about to be removed. Prepare for
this change by updating users of gfp and slab facilities include those
headers directly instead of assuming availability. As this conversion
needs to touch large number of source files, the following script is
used as the basis of conversion.

  http://userweb.kernel.org/~tj/misc/slabh-sweep.py

The script does the followings.

* Scan files for gfp and slab usages and update includes such that
only the necessary includes are there. ie. if only gfp is used,
gfp.h, if slab is used, slab.h.

* When the script inserts a new include, it looks at the include
blocks and try to put the new include such that its order conforms
to its surrounding. It's put in the include block which contains
core kernel includes, in the same order that the rest are ordered -
alphabetical, Christmas tree, rev-Xmas-tree or at the end if there
doesn't seem to be any matching order.

* If the script can't find a place to put a new include (mostly
because the file doesn't have fitting include block), it prints out
an error message indicating which .h file needs to be added to the
  file.

The conversion was done in the following steps.

1. The initial automatic conversion of all .c files updated slightly
over 4000 files, deleting around 700 includes and adding ~480 gfp.h
and ~3000 slab.h inclusions. The script emitted errors for ~400
   files.

2. Each error was manually checked. Some didn't need the inclusion,
some needed manual addition while adding it to implementation .h or
embedding .c file was more appropriate for others. This step added
   inclusions to around 150 files.

3. The script was run again and the output was compared to the edits
from #2 to make sure no file was left behind.

4. Several build tests were done and a couple of problems were fixed.
   e.g. lib/decompress_*.c used malloc/free() wrappers around slab
APIs requiring slab.h to be added manually.

5. The script was run on all .h files but without automatically
editing them as sprinkling gfp.h and slab.h inclusions around .h
files could easily lead to inclusion dependency hell. Most gfp.h
inclusion directives were ignored as stuff from gfp.h was usually
wildly available and often used in preprocessor macros. Each
slab.h inclusion directive was examined and added manually as
   necessary.

6. percpu.h was updated not to include slab.h.

7. Build test were done on the following configurations and failures
were fixed. CONFIG_GCOV_KERNEL was turned off for all tests (as my
distributed build env didn't work with gcov compiles) and a few
more options had to be turned off depending on archs to make things
build (like ipr on powerpc/64 which failed due to missing writeq).

   * x86 and x86_64 UP and SMP allmodconfig and a custom test config.
   * powerpc and powerpc64 SMP allmodconfig
   * sparc and sparc64 SMP allmodconfig
   * ia64 SMP allmodconfig
   * s390 SMP allmodconfig
   * alpha SMP allmodconfig
   * um on x86_64 SMP allmodconfig

8. percpu.h modifications were reverted so that it could be applied as
a separate patch and serve as bisection point.

Given the fact that I had only a couple of failures from tests on step
6, I'm fairly confident about the coverage of this conversion patch.
If there is a breakage, it's likely to be something in one of the arch
headers which should be easily discoverable easily on most builds of
the specific arch.

Neil Horman 3b885787ea net: Generalize socket rx gap / receive queue overflow cmsg
Create a new socket level option to report number of queue overflows

Recently I augmented the AF_PACKET protocol to report the number of frames lost
on the socket receive queue between any two enqueued frames. This value was
exported via a SOL_PACKET level cmsg. AFter I completed that work it was
requested that this feature be generalized so that any datagram oriented socket
could make use of this option. As such I've created this patch, It creates a
new SOL_SOCKET level option called SO_RXQ_OVFL, which when enabled exports a
SOL_SOCKET level cmsg that reports the nubmer of times the sk_receive_queue
overflowed between any two given frames. It also augments the AF_PACKET
protocol to take advantage of this new feature (as it previously did not touch
sk->sk_drops, which this patch uses to record the overflow count). Tested
successfully by me.

Notes:

1) Unlike my previous patch, this patch simply records the sk_drops value, which
is not a number of drops between packets, but rather a total number of drops.
Deltas must be computed in user space.

2) While this patch currently works with datagram oriented protocols, it will
also be accepted by non-datagram oriented protocols. I'm not sure if thats
agreeable to everyone, but my argument in favor of doing so is that, for those
protocols which aren't applicable to this option, sk_drops will always be zero,
and reporting no drops on a receive queue that isn't used for those
non-participating protocols seems reasonable to me. This also saves us having
to code in a per-protocol opt in mechanism.

3) This applies cleanly to net-next assuming that commit
977750076d (my af packet cmsg patch) is reverted

Sergey Lapin 2c21d11518 net: add NL802154 interface for configuration of 802.15.4 devices

Sergey Lapin 9ec7671603 net: add IEEE 802.15.4 socket family implementation
Add support for communication over IEEE 802.15.4 networks. This implementation
is neither certified nor complete, but aims to that goal. This commit contains
only the socket interface for communication over IEEE 802.15.4 networks.
One can either send RAW datagrams or use SOCK_DGRAM to encapsulate data
inside normal IEEE 802.15.4 packets.

Configuration interface, drivers and software MAC 802.15.4 implementation will
follow.

Initial implementation was done by Maxim Gorbachyov, Maxim Osipov and Pavel
Smolensky as a research project at Siemens AG. Later the stack was heavily
reworked to better suit the linux networking model, and is now maitained
as an open project partially sponsored by Siemens.
