Hanno Zulla 4eb1b01de5 HID: hid-bigbenff: fix race condition for scheduled work during removal
It's possible that there is scheduled work left while the device is
already being removed, which can cause a kernel crash. Adding a flag
will avoid this.

Hanno Zulla 976a54d0f4 HID: hid-bigbenff: call hid_hw_stop() in case of error
It's required to call hid_hw_stop() once hid_hw_start() was called
previously, so error cases need to handle this. Also, hid_hw_close() is
not necessary during removal.

Hanno Zulla 789a2c2503 HID: hid-bigbenff: fix general protection fault caused by double kfree
The struct *bigben was allocated via devm_kzalloc() and then used as a
parameter in input_ff_create_memless(). This caused a double kfree
during removal of the device, since both the managed resource API and
ml_ff_destroy() in drivers/input/ff-memless.c would call kfree() on it.

They are issues:
   - if 'input_allocate_device()' fails and return NULL, there is no need
     to free anything and 'input_free_device()' call is a no-op. It can
     be axed.
   - 'ret' is known to be 0 at this point, so we must set it to a
     meaningful value before returning

Syzbot reports that "hiddev" is used after it's free in hiddev_disconnect().
The hiddev_disconnect() function sets "hiddev->exist = 0;" so
hiddev_release() can free it as soon as we drop the "existancelock"
lock.  This patch moves the mutex_unlock(&hiddev->existancelock) until
after we have finished using it.

Filipe Laíns 630dd6eaff HID: logitech-dj: add debug msg when exporting a HID++ report descriptors
When exporting all other types of report descriptors we print a debug
message. Not doing so for HID++ descriptors makes unaware users think
that no HID++ descriptor was exported.

Hans de Goede 3045696d0c HID: quirks: Remove ITE 8595 entry from hid_have_special_driver
The ITE 8595 chip used in various 2-in-1 keyboard docks works fine with
the hid-generic driver (minus the RF_KILL key) and also keeps working fine
when swapping drivers, so there is no need to have it in the
hid_have_special_driver list.

Note the other 2 USB ids in hid-ite.c were never added to
hid_have_special_driver.

Johan Korsnes 5ebdffd250 HID: core: fix off-by-one memset in hid_report_raw_event()
In case a report is greater than HID_MAX_BUFFER_SIZE, it is truncated,
but the report-number byte is not correctly handled. This results in a
off-by-one in the following memset, causing a kernel Oops and ensuing
system crash.

Note: With commit 8ec321e96e ("HID: Fix slab-out-of-bounds read in
hid_field_extract") I no longer hit the kernel Oops as we instead fail
"controlled" at probe if there is a report too long in the HID
report-descriptor. hid_report_raw_event() is an exported symbol, so
presumabely we cannot always rely on this being the case.

Hans de Goede beae56192a HID: ite: Only bind to keyboard USB interface on Acer SW5-012 keyboard dock
Commit 8f18eca9eb ("HID: ite: Add USB id match for Acer SW5-012 keyboard
dock") added the USB id for the Acer SW5-012's keyboard dock to the
hid-ite driver to fix the rfkill driver not working.

Most keyboard docks with an ITE 8595 keyboard/touchpad controller have the
"Wireless Radio Control" bits which need the special hid-ite driver on the
second USB interface (the mouse interface) and their touchpad only supports
mouse emulation, so using generic hid-input handling for anything but
the "Wireless Radio Control" bits is fine. On these devices we simply bind
to all USB interfaces.

But unlike other ITE8595 using keyboard docks, the Acer Aspire Switch 10
(SW5-012)'s touchpad not only does mouse emulation it also supports
HID-multitouch and all the keys including the "Wireless Radio Control"
bits have been moved to the first USB interface (the keyboard intf).

So we need hid-ite to handle the first (keyboard) USB interface and have
it NOT bind to the second (mouse) USB interface so that that can be
handled by hid-multitouch.c and we get proper multi-touch support.

This commit changes the hid_device_id for the SW5-012 keyboard dock to
only match on hid devices from the HID_GROUP_GENERIC group, this way
hid-ite will not bind the the mouse/multi-touch interface which has
HID_GROUP_MULTITOUCH_WIN_8 as group.
This fixes the regression to mouse-emulation mode introduced by adding
the keyboard dock USB id.

Filipe Laíns 4ab2bb3c31 HID: logitech-hidpp: BatteryVoltage: only read chargeStatus if extPower is active
In the HID++ 2.0 function getBatteryInfo() from the BatteryVoltage
(0x1001) feature, chargeStatus is only valid if extPower is active.

Previously we were ignoring extPower, which resulted in wrong values.

Example:
    With an unplugged mouse

This patch fixes that, it also renames charge_sts to flags as
charge_sts can be confused with chargeStatus from the spec.

Rodrigo Rivas Costa 20eee6e5af HID: steam: Fix input device disappearing
The `connected` value for wired devices was not properly initialized,
it must be set to `true` upon creation, because wired devices do not
generate connection events.

When a raw client (the Steam Client) uses the device, the input device
is destroyed. Then, when the raw client finishes, it must be recreated.
But since the `connected` variable was false this never happended.

Pedro Vanzella be281368f2 hid-logitech-hidpp: read battery voltage from newer devices
Newer Logitech mice report their battery voltage through feature 0x1001
instead of the battery levels through feature 0x1000.

When the device is brought up and we try to query the battery, figure
out if it supports the old or the new feature. If it supports the new
feature, record the feature index and read the battery voltage and
its charge status. The device will respond with three bytes: the first
two are its voltage, and the last one is a bitset, reporting if the
battery is charging, fast or slow, in critical level or discharging.

If everything went correctly, record the fact that we're capable
of querying battery voltage.

Note that the protocol only gives us the current voltage in mV.
We store that as-is, but when queried, we report it in uV as
expected by sysfs.

Like we do for other ways of interacting with the battery for other
devices, refresh the battery status and notify the power supply
subsystem of the changes in voltage and status.

Since there are no known devices which implement both the old and the
new battery feature, we make sure to try the newer feature first and
only fall back to the old one if that fails.

This patch allows short reports to be translated into long reports.

hidpp_validate_device now returns a u8 instead of a bool which represents
the supported reports. The corresponding bits (i.e.
HIDPP_REPORT_*_SUPPORTED) are set if an HID++ report is supported.

If a short report is being sent and the device does not support it, it is
instead sent as a long report.

This patch also introduces support for the MX Master (b01e and b012).

Dmitry Torokhov 18a1b06e5b HID: hiddev: fix mess in hiddev_open()
The open method of hiddev handler fails to bring the device out of
autosuspend state as was promised in 0361a28d3f, as it actually has 2
blocks that try to start the transport (call hid_hw_open()) with both
being guarded by the "open" counter, so the 2nd block is never executed as
the first block increments the counter so it is never at 0 when we check
it for the second block.

Additionally hiddev_open() was leaving counter incremented on errors,
causing the device to never be reopened properly if there was ever an
error.

Let's fix all of this by factoring out code that creates client structure
and powers up the device into a separate function that is being called
from usbhid_open() with the "existancelock" being held.

Pavel Balan fd09137687 HID: Add quirk for incorrect input length on Lenovo Y720
Apply it to the Lenovo Y720 gaming laptop I2C peripheral then.

This fixes dmesg being flooded with errors visible on un-suspend

Hans de Goede c07a0254c8 HID: asus: Ignore Asus vendor-page usage-code 0xff events
At least on a T100HA an Asus vendor-page usage-code 0xff event is send on
every suspend and again on resume, resulting in the following warning:

being logged twice on every suspend/resume.

This commit silences the "Unmapped Asus vendor usagepage code ..."
warning for usage-code 0xff to avoid these warnings being logged.

Hans de Goede 8f18eca9eb HID: ite: Add USB id match for Acer SW5-012 keyboard dock
The Acer SW5-012 2-in-1 keyboard dock uses a Synaptics S91028 touchpad
which is connected to an ITE 8595 USB keyboard controller chip.

This keyboard has the same quirk for its rfkill / airplane mode hotkey as
other keyboards with the ITE 8595 chip, it only sends a single release
event when pressed and released, it never sends a press event.

This commit adds this keyboards USB id to the hid-ite id-table, fixing
the rfkill key not working on this keyboard.

Alan Stern 8ec321e96e HID: Fix slab-out-of-bounds read in hid_field_extract
The syzbot fuzzer found a slab-out-of-bounds bug in the HID report
handler.  The bug was caused by a report descriptor which included a
field with size 12 bits and count 4899, for a total size of 7349
bytes.

The usbhid driver uses at most a single-page 4-KB buffer for reports.
In the test there wasn't any problem about overflowing the buffer,
since only one byte was received from the device.  Rather, the bug
occurred when the HID core tried to extract the data from the report
fields, which caused it to try reading data beyond the end of the
allocated buffer.

This patch fixes the problem by rejecting any report whose total
length exceeds the HID_MAX_BUFFER_SIZE limit (minus one byte to allow
for a possible report index).  In theory a device could have a report
longer than that, but if there was such a thing we wouldn't handle it
correctly anyway.

Marcel Holtmann 9f3b61dc1d HID: hidraw: Fix returning EPOLLOUT from hidraw_poll
When polling a connected /dev/hidrawX device, it is useful to get the
EPOLLOUT when writing is possible. Since writing is possible as soon as
the device is connected, always return it.

Right now EPOLLOUT is only returned when there are also input reports
are available. This works if devices start sending reports when
connected, but some HID devices might need an output report first before
sending any input reports. This change will allow using EPOLLOUT here as
well.

 more of that cleanup, I decided to try to completely eliminate the rest
 of it and move it all into drivers.
 
 This series incorporates some of Al's work and many patches of my own,
 but in the end stops short of actually removing the last part, which is
 the scsi ioctl handlers. I have patches for those as well, but they need

Dexuan Cui af13f9ed6f HID: hyperv: Add the support of hibernation
During the suspend process and resume process, if there is any mouse
event, there is a small chance the suspend and the resume process can be
aborted because of mousevsc_on_receive() -> pm_wakeup_hard_event().

This behavior can be avoided by disabling the Hyper-V mouse device as
a wakeup source:

(XXX is the device's GUID).

Andrew Duggan 8725aa4fa7 HID: rmi: Check that the RMI_STARTED bit is set before unregistering the RMI transport device
In the event that the RMI device is unreachable, the calls to rmi_set_mode() or
rmi_set_page() will fail before registering the RMI transport device. When the
device is removed, rmi_remove() will call rmi_unregister_transport_device()
which will attempt to access the rmi_dev pointer which was not set.
This patch adds a check of the RMI_STARTED bit before calling
rmi_unregister_transport_device().  The RMI_STARTED bit is only set
after rmi_register_transport_device() completes successfully.

Kai-Heng Feng fd70466d37 HID: i2c-hid: Reset ALPS touchpads on resume
Commit 52cf93e63e ("HID: i2c-hid: Don't reset device upon system
resume") fixes many touchpads and touchscreens, however ALPS touchpads
start to trigger IRQ storm after system resume.

Since it's total silence from ALPS, let's bring the old behavior back
to ALPS touchpads.

Aaron Ma 0c8432236d HID: i2c-hid: fix no irq after reset on raydium 3118
On some ThinkPad L390 some raydium 3118 touchscreen devices
doesn't response any data after reset, but some does.

Add this ID to no irq quirk,
then don't wait for any response alike on these touchscreens.
All kinds of raydium 3118 devices work fine.

With Usage Page concatenation in Main item, parser recognizes all the
11 Usages as consumer keys, it is not the HID device's real intention.

This patch checks whether Usage Page is really defined after Usage ID
items by comparing usage page using status.

Usage Page concatenation on currently defined Usage Page will always
do in local parsing when Usage ID items encountered.

When Main item is parsing, concatenation will do again with last
defined Usage Page if this page has not been used in the previous
usages concatenation.

Jason Gerecke ff479731c3 HID: wacom: generic: Treat serial number and related fields as unsigned
The HID descriptors for most Wacom devices oddly declare the serial
number and other related fields as signed integers. When these numbers
are ingested by the HID subsystem, they are automatically sign-extended
into 32-bit integers. We treat the fields as unsigned elsewhere in the
kernel and userspace, however, so this sign-extension causes problems.
In particular, the sign-extended tool ID sent to userspace as ABS_MISC
does not properly match unsigned IDs used by xf86-input-wacom and libwacom.

We introduce a function 'wacom_s32tou' that can undo the automatic sign
extension performed by 'hid_snto32'. We call this function when processing
the serial number and related fields to ensure that we are dealing with
and reporting the unsigned form. We opt to use this method rather than
adding a descriptor fixup in 'wacom_hid_usage_quirk' since it should be
more robust in the face of future devices.

Hans de Goede 43b7029f47 HID: i2c-hid: Send power-on command after reset
Before commit 67b18dfb8c ("HID: i2c-hid: Remove runtime power
management"), any i2c-hid touchscreens would typically be runtime-suspended
between the driver loading and Xorg or a Wayland compositor opening it,
causing it to be resumed again. This means that before this change,
we would call i2c_hid_set_power(OFF), i2c_hid_set_power(ON) before the
graphical session would start listening to the touchscreen.

It turns out that at least some SIS touchscreens, such as the one found
on the Asus T100HA, need a power-on command after reset, otherwise they
will not send any events.

Arnd Bergmann 1832f2d8ff compat_ioctl: move more drivers to compat_ptr_ioctl
The .ioctl and .compat_ioctl file operations have the same prototype so
they can both point to the same function, which works great almost all
the time when all the commands are compatible.

One exception is the s390 architecture, where a compat pointer is only
31 bit wide, and converting it into a 64-bit pointer requires calling
compat_ptr(). Most drivers here will never run in s390, but since we now
have a generic helper for it, it's easy enough to use it consistently.

I double-checked all these drivers to ensure that all ioctl arguments
are used as pointers or are ignored, but are not interpreted as integer
values.

Andrey Smirnov 905d754c53 HID: logitech-hidpp: rework device validation
G920 device only advertises REPORT_ID_HIDPP_LONG and
REPORT_ID_HIDPP_VERY_LONG in its HID report descriptor, so querying
for REPORT_ID_HIDPP_SHORT with optional=false will always fail and
prevent G920 to be recognized as a valid HID++ device.

To fix this and improve some other aspects, modify
hidpp_validate_device() as follows:

  - Inline the code of hidpp_validate_report() to simplify
    distingushing between non-present and invalid report descriptors

  - Drop the check for id >= HID_MAX_IDS || id < 0 since all of our
    IDs are static and known to satisfy that at compile time

  - Change the algorithms to check all possible report
    types (including very long report) and deem the device as a valid
    HID++ device if it supports at least one

  - Treat invalid report length as a hard stop for the validation
    algorithm, meaning that if any of the supported reports has
    invalid length we assume the worst and treat the device as a
    generic HID device.

  - Fold initialization of hidpp->very_long_report_length into
    hidpp_validate_device() since it already fetches very long report
    length and validates its value

Kai-Heng Feng 67b18dfb8c HID: i2c-hid: Remove runtime power management
Runtime power management in i2c-hid brings lots of issues, such as:
- When transitioning from display manager to desktop session, i2c-hid
was closed and opened, so the device was set to SLEEP and ON in a short
period. Vendors confirmed that their devices can't handle fast ON/SLEEP
command because Windows doesn't have this behavior.

- When rebooting, i2c-hid was closed, and the driver core put the device
back to full power before shutdown. This behavior also triggers a quick
SLEEP and ON commands that some devices can't handle, renders an
unusable touchpad after reboot.

- Most importantly, my power meter reports little to none energy saving
when i2c-hid is runtime suspended.

So let's remove runtime power management since there is no actual
benefit.

Alan Stern d9d4b1e46d HID: Fix assumption that devices have inputs
The syzbot fuzzer found a slab-out-of-bounds write bug in the hid-gaff
driver.  The problem is caused by the driver's assumption that the
device must have an input report.  While this will be true for all
normal HID input devices, a suitably malicious device can violate the
assumption.

The same assumption is present in over a dozen other HID drivers.
This patch fixes them by checking that the list of hid_inputs for the
hid_device is nonempty before allowing it to be used.

Hans de Goede 1f8cde2a53 HID: lg-g15: Add support for controlling the G510's RGB backlight
Note that the keyboard has a backlight on/off toggle button. If the
backlight is turned off through that button, then any changes we make
will be ignored and we cannot turn it back on again from the host.

To workaround this we write the last set RGB values when we receive an
event indicating that the backlight has been turned on again.

Add support for the gaming and LCD menu keys on the G510 keyboard.

Note this commit does not add support for the keyboard and LCD backlight
and the status LEDs, this is done in a follow up commit.

Note the G510 generates 4 different input reports on its second
(Consumer Keys) interface:

-input report 1 is standard bootclass keyboard input report, mirroring
 normal keyboard interface
-input report 2 is consumer page keys
-input report 3 is gkeys, etc.
-input report 4 is LED status, single byte, bits:
 bit 2: kbd and LCD backlight is *off* when set, toggled by the light key
 bit 3: headphone mute LED
 bit 4: mic mute LED

Input-report 1 we ignore since this is a duplicate report from the first
interface, report 2 is handled by the regular hid-input code. In this
commit we add handling for input report 3.

Register a led_classdev for the keyboard backlight and another one for
the LCD backlight.

This commit also includes LED_BRIGHT_HW_CHANGED support, which together
with a desktop-environment which supports this, such as GNOME3 leads to
the kbd-backlight OSD being show with the new level when changing the
backlight setting through the hotkey on the keyboard.

Add a driver to stop the extra "G" keys from sending F1 - F12 instead
making them send KEY_GKEY# and also make the non-functional M1 - M3 and MR
keys and the non-functional buttons below the LCD panel properly generated
key events.

Note the connect_mask and gkeys_settings_output_report variables may seem
unnecessary since they are always set to the same value, these are there in
preparation of adding support for the G, M and LCD keys on the G510 kbd.

On HID report descriptor parsing error the code displays bogus
pointer instead of error offset (subtracts start=NULL from end).
Make the message more useful by displaying correct error offset
and include total buffer size for reference.

Currently, the tablet mode switch that takes two signals as its input:
base attached switch from the EC and some GMR signal from whiskers when
it's folded over. This tablet mode switch is then sent to Chrome, which
changes the UI.

However, there are some units which have a lot of leakage on the ADC
pins that the EC uses to determine whether or not a base is attached.
This can result in the base being physically detached, but the EC
thinking that it's still attached. The user would then be stuck in
laptop mode and wouldn't be able to rotate their display.

To work around this let's send "tablet mode" signal when we remove HID
interface, which normally happens when we physically disconnect
whiskers.

The USB interface may get detected before the platform/EC one, so let's
note the state of the base (if we receive event) and use it to correctly
initialize the tablet mode switch state.

Also let's start the HID interface immediately when probing, this will
ensure that we correctly process "base folded" events that may be sent
as we initialize the base. Note that this requires us to add a remove()
function where we stop and close the hardware and switch the LED
registration away from devm interface as we need to make sure that we
destroy the LED instance before we stop the hardware.

Only warn once of oversize hid report value field

On HP spectre x360 convertible the message:
hid-sensor-hub 001F:8087:0AC2.0002: hid_field_extract() called with n (192) > 32! (kworker/1:2)
is continually printed many times per second, crowding out all else.
Protect dmesg by printing the warning only one time.

The size of the hid report field data structure should probably be increased.
The data structure is treated as a u32 in Linux, but an unlimited number
of bits in the USB hid spec, so there is some rearchitecture needed now that
devices are sending more than 32 bits.

Dan Elkouby 8bb3537095 Bluetooth: hidp: Fix assumptions on the return value of hidp_send_message
hidp_send_message was changed to return non-zero values on success,
which some other bits did not expect. This caused spurious errors to be
propagated through the stack, breaking some drivers, such as hid-sony
for the Dualshock 4 in Bluetooth mode.

As pointed out by Dan Carpenter, hid-microsoft directly relied on that
assumption as well.

The problem is caused by the fact that pcmidi_get_output_report() will
return an error if the HID device doesn't provide the right sort of
output report, but pcmidi_set_operational() doesn't bother to check
the return code and assumes the function call always succeeds.

This patch adds the missing check and aborts the probe operation if
necessary.

Roderick Colenbrander 2bcdacb703 HID: sony: Fix memory corruption issue on cleanup.
The sony driver is not properly cleaning up from potential failures in
sony_input_configured. Currently it calls hid_hw_stop, while hid_connect
is still running. This is not a good idea, instead hid_hw_stop should
be moved to sony_probe. Similar changes were recently made to Logitech
drivers, which were also doing improper cleanup.

This 'SET_PWR_WAKEUP_DEV' quirk only works for weida's devices with pid
0xC300 & 0xC301. Some weida's devices with other pids also need this quirk
now. Use 'HID_ANY_ID' instead of 0xC300 to make all of weida's devices can be
fixed on the power on issue. This modification should be safe since devices
without power on issue will send the power on command only once.

Joao Moreno aec256d0ec HID: apple: Fix stuck function keys when using FN
This fixes an issue in which key down events for function keys would be
repeatedly emitted even after the user has raised the physical key. For
example, the driver fails to emit the F5 key up event when going through
the following steps:
- fnmode=1: hold FN, hold F5, release FN, release F5
- fnmode=2: hold F5, hold FN, release F5, release FN

The repeated F5 key down events can be easily verified using xev.

Bastien Nocera f7c4f737ce HID: sb0540: add support for Creative SB0540 IR receivers
Add a new hid driver for the Creative SB0540 IR receiver. This receiver
is usually coupled with an RM-1500 or an RM-1800 remote control.

The scrollwheels on the RM-1800 remote are not bound, as they are
labelled for specific audio controls that don't usually exist on most
systems. They can be remapped using standard Linux keyboard
remapping tools.

Enric Balletbo i Serra 840d9f131f mfd / platform: cros_ec: Reorganize platform and mfd includes
There is a bit of mess between cros-ec mfd includes and platform
includes. For example, we have a linux/mfd/cros_ec.h include that
exports the interface implemented in platform/chrome/cros_ec_proto.c. Or
we have a linux/mfd/cros_ec_commands.h file that is non related to the
multifunction device (in the sense that is not exporting any function of
the mfd device). This causes crossed includes between mfd and
platform/chrome subsystems and makes the code difficult to read, apart
from creating 'curious' situations where a platform/chrome driver includes
a linux/mfd/cros_ec.h file just to get the exported functions that are
implemented in another platform/chrome driver.

In order to have a better separation on what the cros-ec multifunction
driver does and what the cros-ec core provides move and rework the
affected includes doing:

 - Move cros_ec_commands.h to include/linux/platform_data/cros_ec_commands.h
 - Get rid of the parts that are implemented in the platform/chrome/cros_ec_proto.c
   driver from include/linux/mfd/cros_ec.h to a new file
   include/linux/platform_data/cros_ec_proto.h
 - Update all the drivers with the new includes, so
   - Drivers that only need to know about the protocol include
     - linux/platform_data/cros_ec_proto.h
     - linux/platform_data/cros_ec_commands.h
   - Drivers that need to know about the cros-ec mfd device also include
     - linux/mfd/cros_ec.h

Hans de Goede 8ccff2843f HID: logitech-dj: Fix crash when initial logi_dj_recv_query_paired_devices fails
Before this commit dj_probe would exit with an error if the initial
logi_dj_recv_query_paired_devices fails. The initial call may fail
when the receiver is connected through a kvm and the focus is away.

When the call fails this causes 2 problems:

1) dj_probe calls logi_dj_recv_query_paired_devices after calling
hid_device_io_start() so a HID report may have been received in between

2) Even if we were to fix 1. by making sure the work is stopped before
failing probe, failing probe is the wrong thing to do, we have
logi_dj_recv_queue_unknown_work to deal with the initial
logi_dj_recv_query_paired_devices failure.

Rather then error-ing out of the probe, causing the receiver to not work at
all we should rely on this, so that the attached devices will get properly
enumerated once the KVM focus is switched back.

This panel is not very friendly to us:
it exposes multiple multitouch collections, some of them being of
logical application stylus.

Usually, a device has only one report per application, and that is
what I assumed in commit 8dfe14b3b4 ("HID: multitouch: ditch mt_report_id")

To avoid breaking all working device, add a new class and a new quirk
for that situation.

Benjamin Tissoires c23e2043d5 HID: multitouch: do not filter mice nodes
It was a good idea at the time to not create a mouse node for the
multitouch touchscreens, but:
- touchscreens following the Win 8 protocol should not have this
  disturbing mouse node anymore, or if they have, it should be
  used for something else (like a joystick attached to the screen)
- touchpads have it, and they should not use it unless there is a bug,
  but when the laptop has a trackstick, the data are reported through this
  mouse node.

So instead of whitelisting all of the devices that have a need for the
mouse node, just export it.
hid-input.c will append a suffix to it ('Mouse'), so users will eventually
see if something goes wrong.

which violates the requirement that every pathway calling

Aaron Armstrong Skomra 670e90924b HID: wacom: support named keys on older devices
Some Wacom devices have keys with predefined meanings. However, when
support was originally added for these devices, the codes for these
keys were not available yet. These keys were thus reported with
the numbered KEY_PROG* range.

Some missing key codes were added with commit 4eb220cb35 ("HID:
wacom: generic: add 3 tablet touch keys") and we are now able to
report the proper key codes. We continue to report the original
KEY_PROG codes so as not to break any unknown applications that
may depend on them.

Also, to support the touch key, track its state in the pad report.

Benjamin Tissoires 2d05dba2b2 HID: cp2112: prevent sleeping function called from invalid context
When calling request_threaded_irq() with a CP2112, the function
cp2112_gpio_irq_startup() is called in a IRQ context.

Therefore we can not sleep, and we can not call
cp2112_gpio_direction_input() there.

Move the call to cp2112_gpio_direction_input() earlier to have a working
driver.

For suspend-to-idle, send suspend message and set N0_D3 flag to put
the ISH into D0i3 state.
For suspend-to-mem, disable the DMA bit before ISH entering D3, and

Zhang Lixu c1ca58f698 HID: intel-ish-hid: ipc: set NO_D3 flag only when needed
Currently, the NO_D3 flag is set in ish_probe(), and cleared in
ish_remove(). So even if the system goes into S3, ISH is still
in D0i3 state. It makes more sense that put ISH into D3 as system
goes into S3 and put ISH into D0i3 as system goes into suspend-to-idle.
I remove the NO_D3 setting in ish_probe(), so that ISH can enter
D3 state when system enters S3. Only set N0_D3 flag when system
enters the suspend-to-idle or platform specified, and clear it
when system resume.

When the ISH enters D3, the FW will check the DMA bit status.
If the DMA bit is set, the FW will reset automatically. So the
DMA bit need be clear before putting ISH into D3 state.

This partially reverts commit 27fc32fd94.

It turns out that the G502 has some issues with hid-logitech-hidpp:
when plugging it in, the driver tries to contact it but it fails.
So the driver bails out leaving only the mouse event node available.

This timeout is problematic as it introduce a delay in the boot,
and having only the mouse event node means that the hardware
macros keys can not be relayed to the userspace.

Filipe and I just gave a shot at the following devices:

G403 Wireless (0xC082)
G703 (0xC087)
G703 Hero (0xC090)
G903 (0xC086)
G903 Hero (0xC091)
G Pro (0xC088)

Reverting the devices we are not sure that works flawlessly.

Roderick Colenbrander e0f6974a54 HID: sony: Fix race condition between rumble and device remove.
Valve reported a kernel crash on Ubuntu 18.04 when disconnecting a DS4
gamepad while rumble is enabled. This issue is reproducible with a
frequency of 1 in 3 times in the game Borderlands 2 when using an
automatic weapon, which triggers many rumble operations.

We found the issue to be a race condition between sony_remove and the
final device destruction by the HID / input system. The problem was
that sony_remove didn't clean some of its work_item state in
"struct sony_sc". After sony_remove work, the corresponding evdev
node was around for sufficient time for applications to still queue
rumble work after "sony_remove".

On pre-4.19 kernels the race condition caused a kernel crash due to a
NULL-pointer dereference as "sc->output_report_dmabuf" got freed during
sony_remove. On newer kernels this crash doesn't happen due the buffer
now being allocated using devm_kzalloc. However we can still queue work,
while the driver is an undefined state.

This patch fixes the described problem, by guarding the work_item
"state_worker" with an initialized variable, which we are setting back
to 0 on cleanup.

Nicolas Saenz Julienne 1c703b53e5 HID: input: fix a4tech horizontal wheel custom usage
Some a4tech mice use the 'GenericDesktop.00b8' usage to inform whether
the previous wheel report was horizontal or vertical. Before
c01908a14b ("HID: input: add mapping for "Toggle Display" key") this
usage was being mapped to 'Relative.Misc'. After the patch it's simply
ignored (usage->type == 0 & usage->code == 0). Which ultimately makes
hid-a4tech ignore the WHEEL/HWHEEL selection event, as it has no
usage->type.

We shouldn't rely on a mapping for that usage as it's nonstandard and
doesn't really map to an input event. So we bypass the mapping and make
sure the custom event handling properly handles both reports.

Sebastian Parschauer 49869d2ea9 HID: Add quirk for HP X1200 PIXART OEM mouse
The PixArt OEM mice are known for disconnecting every minute in
runlevel 1 or 3 if they are not always polled. So add quirk
ALWAYS_POLL for this one as well.

István Váradi 7bc74853fd HID: quirks: Set the INCREMENT_USAGE_ON_DUPLICATE quirk on Saitek X52
The Saitek X52 joystick has a pair of axes that are originally
(by the Windows driver) used as mouse pointer controls. The corresponding
usage->hid values are 0x50024 and 0x50026. Thus they are handled
as unknown axes and both get mapped to ABS_MISC. The quirk makes
the second axis to be mapped to ABS_MISC1 and thus made available
separately.

This is safe since hiddev_write always fails and improves compatibility

Fabian Henneke 378b80370a hidraw: Return EPOLLOUT from hidraw_poll
Always return EPOLLOUT from hidraw_poll when a device is connected.
This is safe since writes are always possible (but will always block).

hidraw does not support non-blocking writes and instead always calls
blocking backend functions on write requests. Hence, so far, a call to
poll never returned EPOLLOUT, which confuses tools like socat.

Hans de Goede 6fb08f1a5f HID: logitech-dj: Really fix return value of logi_dj_recv_query_hidpp_devices
Commit dbcbabf7da ("HID: logitech-dj: fix return value of
logi_dj_recv_query_hidpp_devices") made logi_dj_recv_query_hidpp_devices
return the return value of hid_hw_raw_request instead of unconditionally
returning 0.

But hid_hw_raw_request returns the report-size on a successful request
(and a negative error-code on failure) where as the callers of
logi_dj_recv_query_hidpp_devices expect a 0 return on success.

This commit fixes things so that either the negative error gets returned
or 0 on success, fixing HID++ receivers such as the Logitech nano receivers
no longer working.
