Benjamin Herrenschmidt 28794d34ec powerpc/kconfig: Kill PPC_MULTIPLATFORM
CONFIG_PPC_MULTIPLATFORM is a remain of the pre-powerpc days and isn't
really meaningful anymore. It was basically equivalent to PPC64 || 6xx.

This removes it along with the following changes:

 - 32-bit platforms that relied on PPC32 && PPC_MULTIPLATFORM now rely
   on 6xx which is what they want anyway.

 - A new symbol, PPC_BOOK3S, is defined that represent compliance with
   the "Server" variant of the architecture. This is set when either 6xx
   or PPC64 is set and open the door for future BOOK3E 64-bit.

 - 64-bit platforms that relied on PPC64 && PPC_MULTIPLATFORM now use
   PPC64 && PPC_BOOK3S

 - A separate and selectable CONFIG_PPC_OF_BOOT_TRAMPOLINE option is now
   used to control the use of prom_init.c

Geoff Levand 0047656e2a powerpc/ps3: Move ps3_mm_add_memory to device_initcall
Change the PS3 hotplug memory routine ps3_mm_add_memory() from
a core_initcall to a device_initcall.

core_initcall routines run before the powerpc topology_init()
startup routine, which is a subsys_initcall, resulting in
failure of ps3_mm_add_memory() when CONFIG_NUMA=y. When
ps3_mm_add_memory() fails the system will boot with just the
128 MiB of boot memory

Mark Nelson f9226d572d powerpc: Update remaining dma_mapping_ops to use map/unmap_page
After the merge of the 32 and 64bit DMA code, dma_direct_ops lost
their map/unmap_single() functions but gained map/unmap_page(). This
caused a problem for Cell because Cell's dma_iommu_fixed_ops called
the dma_direct_ops if the fixed linear mapping was to be used or the
iommu ops if the dynamic window was to be used. So in order to fix
this problem we need to update the 64bit DMA code to use
map/unmap_page.

First, we update the generic IOMMU code so that iommu_map_single()
becomes iommu_map_page() and iommu_unmap_single() becomes
iommu_unmap_page(). Then we propagate these changes up through all
the callers of these two functions and in the process update all the
dma_mapping_ops so that they have map/unmap_page rahter than
map/unmap_single. We can do this because on 64bit there is no HIGHMEM
memory so map/unmap_page ends up performing exactly the same function
as map/unmap_single, just taking different arguments.

This has no affect on drivers because the dma_map_single_attrs() just
ends up calling the map_page() function of the appropriate
dma_mapping_ops and similarly the dma_unmap_single_attrs() calls
unmap_page().

This fixes an oops on Cell blades, which oops on boot without this
because they call dma_direct_ops.map_single, which is NULL.

Masakazu Mokuno b47027795a powerpc/ps3: Fix ioremap of spu shadow regs
Fix the ioremap of the spu shadow regs on the PS3.

The current PS3 hypervisor requires the spu shadow regs to be
mapped with the PTE page protection bits set as read-only (PP=3).
This implementation uses the low level __ioremap() to bypass the
page protection settings inforced by ioremap_flags() to get the
needed PTE bits set for the shadow regs.

This fixes a runtime failure on the PS3 introduced by the powerpc
ioremap_prot rework of commit a1f242ff46

John Rigby b500563b22 powerpc: pci config cleanup
Choosing PCI or not at config time is allowed on some
platforms via an if expression in arch/powerpc/Kconfig.
To add a new platform with PCI support selectable at
config time, you must change the if expression. This
patch makes this easier by changing:
    bool "PCI support" if <long expression>
to
    bool "PCI support" if PPC_PCI_CHOICE
and adding select PPC_PCI_CHOICE to all the config nodes that
were previously in the PCI if expression.

Platforms with unconditional PCI support continue to
just select PCI in their config nodes.

Mark Nelson 3affedc4e1 powerpc/dma: implement new dma_*map*_attrs() interfaces
Update powerpc to use the new dma_*map*_attrs() interfaces. In doing so
update struct dma_mapping_ops to accept a struct dma_attrs and propagate

Geert Uytterhoeven b4cb2941f8 [POWERPC] PS3: Use the HVs storage device notification mechanism properly
The PS3 hypervisor has a storage device notification mechanism to wait
until a storage device is ready. Unfortunately the storage device
probing code used this mechanism in an incorrect way, needing a
polling loop and handling of devices that are not yet ready.

This change corrects this by:
  - First waiting for the reception of an asynchronous notification
    that a new storage device became ready,
  - Then looking up the storage device in the device repository.

On shutdown, the storage probe thread is stopped and the storage
notification device is closed using a reboot notifier.

Masato Noguchi c25620d766 [POWERPC] cell: wrap master run control bit
Add platform specific SPU run control routines to the spufs. The current
spufs implementation uses the SPU master run control bit (MFC_SR1[S]) to
control SPE execution, but the PS3 hypervisor does not support the use of
this feature.

This change adds the run control wrapper routies spu_enable_spu() and
spu_disable_spu(). The bare metal routines use the master run control
bit, and the PS3 specific routines use the priv2 run control register.

An outstanding enhancement for the PS3 would be to add a guard to check
for incorrect access to the spu problem state when the spu context is
disabled. This check could be implemented with a flag added to the spu
context that would inhibit mapping problem state pages, and a routine
to unmap spu problem state pages. When the spu is enabled with
ps3_enable_spu() the flag would be set allowing pages to be mapped,
and when the spu is disabled with ps3_disable_spu() the flag would be
cleared and mapped problem state pages would be unmapped.

Michael Ellerman eb8dc843fc [POWERPC] Make PS3_SYS_MANAGER default y, not m
Currently it's impossible to build a ps3_defconfig which will reboot
without modules installed. This makes it all too easy to find yourself
with a PS3 that won't reboot.

This is because the system manager driver, which provides the reboot
mechanism, is only selectable if PS3_ADVANCED is set, else it defaults
to m. In ps3_defconfig PS3_ADVANCED is not set, therefore the system
manager is built as a module.

It would be desirable IMHO for the defconfig to produce a kernel that
boots and reboots, without needing modules to be installed.

Paul Mackerras 1189be6508 [POWERPC] Use 1TB segments
This makes the kernel use 1TB segments for all kernel mappings and for
user addresses of 1TB and above, on machines which support them
(currently POWER5+, POWER6 and PA6T).

We detect that the machine supports 1TB segments by looking at the
ibm,processor-segment-sizes property in the device tree.

We don't currently use 1TB segments for user addresses < 1T, since
that would effectively prevent 32-bit processes from using huge pages
unless we also had a way to revert to using 256MB segments. That
would be possible but would involve extra complications (such as
keeping track of which segment size was used when HPTEs were inserted)
and is not addressed here.

Geoff Levand bafdb64577 [POWERPC] PS3: Bootwrapper support.
Add support to build the PS3 flash rom image and remove some unneeded
lmb calls.

The PS3's lv1 loader supports loading gzipped binary images from flash
rom to addr zero. The loader enters the image at addr 0x100.

In this implementation a bootwrapper overlay is use to arrange for the
kernel to be loaded to addr zero and to have a suitable bootwrapper
entry at 0x100. To construct the rom image, 0x100 bytes from offset
0x100 in the kernel is copied to the bootwrapper symbol
__system_reset_kernel. The 0x100 bytes at the bootwrapper symbol
__system_reset_overlay is then copied to offset 0x100. At runtime the
bootwrapper program copies the 0x100 bytes at __system_reset_kernel to
addr 0x100.

zImage.ps3 is a wrapped image that contains a flat device tree, an lv1
compatible entry point, and an optional initrd. otheros.bld is the gzip
compresed rom image built from zImage.ps3. otheros.bld is suitable for
programming into the PS3 boot flash memory.

Geoff Levand a3323d1a52 [POWERPC] PS3: Repository probe cleanups
Repository updates:
  - Extract ps3_repository_find_bus() from ps3_repository_find_device(), as the
    storage driver needs it.
  - Make ps3_repository_find_device() return -ENODEV if a device is not found,
    just like if a bus is not found.
  - Add ps3_repository_read_vuart_sysmgr_port() and
    ps3_repository_read_vuart_av_port() to get vuart port info.
  - Add device enumeration routines ps3_repository_find_device() and
    ps3_repository_find_devices().
  - Cleanup debug routines.

David Woodhouse 688b3378da [POWERPC] PS3: System-bus uevent
To allow userspace to automatically load modules, we need to hook up
uevent for ps3_system_bus devices. I've used the form 'ps3:%d' with
the ps3_match_id, since that's what we use for matching drivers.

Geoff Levand 6bb5cf1025 [POWERPC] PS3: System-bus rework
Rework the PS3 system bus to unify device support.
 - DMA region sizes must be a power of two
 - storage bus DMA updates:
  - Small fixes for the PS3 DMA core:
      o fix alignment bug
      o kill superfluous test
      o indentation
      o spelling
      o export ps3_dma_region_{create,free}()
  - ps3_dma_region_init():
      o Add `addr' and `len' parameters, so you can create a DMA region that
        does not cover all memory (use `NULL' and `0' to cover all memory).
	This is needed because there are not sufficient IOMMU resources to have
	all DMA regions cover all memory.
      o Uninline
  - Added remove and shutdown routines to all drivers.
  - Added loadable module support to all drivers.
  - Added HV calls for iopte management (needed by sound driver).
