Most of these relate to endianness problems, and are purely cosmetic.
But a couple of them were legit -- listen interval parsing and some of
the rate selection code would malfunction on BE systems.
There's still one cosmetic warning remaining, in the (admittedly) ugly
code in cw1200_spi.c. It's there because the hardware needs 16-bit SPI
transfers, but many SPI controllers only operate 8 bits at a time.

It is possible for two cpu's to race creating vxlan device.
For most cases this is harmless, but the ability to assign "next

whole operation. Therfore two instances of calling:
ip li add vxlan%d vxlan ...
could collide and create two devices with same name.

handle possible races there. Introduce a lock to ensure that

John W. Linville says:
====================
I would guess that this is the last big wireless pull request before
the 3.11 merge window...
Regarding the mac80211 bits, Johannes says:
"I have a number of mesh fixes and improvements from Colleen, Jacob,
Ashok and Thomas, powersave fixes in mac80211 from Alex, improved
management-TX from Antonio, and a few various things, including locking
fixes, from others and myself. Overall though, nothing really stands
out."
As for the iwlwifi bits, Johannes says:
"Emmanuel contributed two AP mode fixes, removed an unused field, fixed a
comment and added a warning for something that shouldn't happen in
practice, and I removed the declaration of a function that doesn't even
exist and cleaned up a small include."
"This time I have a number of cleanups, a small fix from Emmanuel and two
performance improvements that combined reduce our driver's CPU
utilisation as much as 75% in high TX-throughput scenarios."
"These two patches fix two issues with using rfkill randomly during
traffic, which would then cause our driver to stop working and not be
able to recover at all."
Regarding the ath6kl bits, Kalle says:
"Here are few simple patches for ath6kl. We have a suspend crash fix for
USB from Shafi, use of mac_pton(), a compiler warning fix and a fix for
module initialisation error path."
Kalle also sends the biggest single item of note, the new ath10k
driver for Qualcomm Atheros 802.11ac CQA98xx devices.
Included is an NFC pull, of which Samuel says:
"These are the pending NFC patches for the 3.11 merge window.
It contains the pending fixes that were on nfc-fixes (nfc-fixes-3.10-2),
along with a few more for the pn544 and pn533 drivers, the LLCP
disconnection path and an LLCP memory leak.
Highlights for this one are:
- An initial secure element API. NFC chipsets can carry an embedded
secure element or get access to the SIM one. In both cases they
control the secure elements and this API provides a way to discover,
enable and disable the available SEs. It also exports that to
userspace in order for SE focused middleware to actually do something
with them (e.g. payments).
- NCI over SPI support. SPI is the most complex NCI specified transport
layer and we now have support for it in the kernel. The next step will
be to implement drivers for NCI chipsets using this transport like
e.g. bcm2079x.
- NFC p2p hardware simulation driver. We now have an nfcsim driver that
is mostly a loopback device between 2 NFC interfaces. It also
implements the rest of the NFC core API like polling and target
detection. This driver, with neard running on top of it, allows us to
completely test the LLCP, SNEP and Handover implementation without
physical hardware.
- A Firmware update netlink API. Most (All ?) HCI chipsets have a
special firmware update mode where applications can push a new
firmware that will be flashed. We now have a netlink API for providing
that mode to e.g. nfctool."
On top of all that, there are a variety of updates to brcmfmac,
iwlegacy, rtlwifi, wil6210, and the TI wl12xx drivers. As usual,
the bcma and ssb busses get a little love as well, as do a handful
of others here and there.

Commits 4c09eed9 (net: fec: Enable imx6 enet checksum acceleration) and
baa70a5c (net: fec: enable pause frame to improve rx prefomance for 1G
network) introduced functionality into the FEC driver which is not
supported on MCF5272. The registers used to implement this functionality
do not exist on MCF5272. Since register defines for MCF5272 are separate
from register defines for other chips, building images for MCF5272 fails
as follows.
fec_main.c: In function 'fec_restart':
fec_main.c:520:8: error: 'FEC_RACC' undeclared (first use in this function)
fec_main.c:585:3: error: 'FEC_R_FIFO_RSEM' undeclared (first use in this function)

fec_main.c:591:3: error: 'FEC_OPD' undeclared (first use in this function)
Adding the missing register defines is not an option, since the registers
do not exist on MCF5272. Disable the added functionality for MCF5272 builds.

Conflicts:
drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k/Kconfig
drivers/net/xen-netback/netback.c
net/batman-adv/bat_iv_ogm.c
net/wireless/nl80211.c
The ath9k Kconfig conflict was a change of a Kconfig option name right
next to the deletion of another option.
The xen-netback conflict was overlapping changes involving the
handling of the notify list in xen_netbk_rx_action().
Batman conflict resolution provided by Antonio Quartulli, basically
keep everything in both conflict hunks.
The nl80211 conflict is a little more involved. In 'net' we added a
dynamic memory allocation to nl80211_dump_wiphy() to fix a race that
Linus reported. Meanwhile in 'net-next' the handlers were converted
to use pre and post doit handlers which use a flag to determine
whether to hold the RTNL mutex around the operation.
However, the dump handlers to not use this logic. Instead they have
to explicitly do the locking. There were apparent bugs in the
conversion of nl80211_dump_wiphy() in that we were not dropping the
RTNL mutex in all the return paths, and it seems we very much should
be doing so. So I fixed that whilst handling the overlapping changes.
To simplify the initial returns, I take the RTNL mutex after we try
to allocate 'tb'.

This will probably be the last batch of wireless fixes intended
for 3.10. Many of these are one- or two-liners, and a couple of
others are mostly relocating existing code to avoid races or to
limit the code to effecting specific hardware, etc.
The mac80211 fixes have a couple of exceptions to the above.
Regarding those, Johannes says:
"Following davem's complaint about my patch, here's a new pull request
w/o the patch he was complaining about, but instead with the const
fix rolled into the fix.
I have a fix for radar detection, one for rate control and a workaround
for broken HT APs which is a regression fix because we didn't rely
on them to be correct before."
Johannes also sends some iwlwifi fixes:
"I picked up Nikolay's patch for the chain noise calibration bug
that seems to have been there forever, a fix from Emmanuel for
setting TX flags on BAR frames and a fix of my own to avoid printing
request_module() errors if the kernel isn't even modular. We also
have our own version of Stanislaw's fix for rate control."
Along with those...
Anderson Lizardo fixes a Bluetooth memory corruption bug when an MTU
value is set to too small of a value.
Arend van Spriel sends a revised brcmsmac bug that fixes a regression
caused by a bad return value in an earlier patch. He also sends a
brcmfmac fix to avoid an oops when loading the driver at boot.
Daniel Drake fixes a race condition in btmrvl that causes hangs on
suspend for OLPC hardware.
Johan Hedberg adds a check to avoid sending a
HCI_Delete_Stored_Link_Key command to devices that don't support them,
avoiding some scary looking log spam.
Stanislaw Gruszka gives us a fix for iwlegacy to be able to use rates
higher than 1Mb/s on older wireless networks. He also sends an rt2x00
fix to reinstate older tx power handling behavior for some devices
that didn't work well with the current code.

driver that Qualcomm/Atheros published/submitted previously,
but reworked to make the code saner. However, it also lost
a number of features (TSO/GSO, VLAN acceleration and multi-

features I didn't have any use for. The only thing I left
is checksum offload.
More features can obviously be added, but this seemed like

The current tg3 code assumes the pci_error_handlers to be always called
in sequence. In particular, during ->error_detected(), NAPI is disabled
and the device is shutdown. The device is later reset and NAPI
re-enabled in ->slot_reset() and ->resume().
In EEH, if more than 6 errors are detected in a hour, only
->error_detected() will be called. This will leave the driver in an
inconsistent state as NAPI is disabled but netif_running state is still
true. When the device is later closed, we'll try to disable NAPI again
and it will loop forever.
We fix this by closing the device if we encounter any error conditions
during the normal sequence of the pci_error_handlers.

When trying to unset a previously-set multicast list (i.e. the new list
has 0 entries), mwifiex_set_multicast_list() was calling down to
mwifiex_request_set_multicast_list() while leaving
mcast_list.num_multicast_addr as an uninitialized value.
We were arriving at mwifiex_cmd_mac_multicast_adr() which would then
proceed to do an often huge memcpy of
mcast_list.num_multicast_addr*ETH_ALEN bytes, causing memory corruption
and hard to debug crashes.
Fix this by setting mcast_list.num_multicast_addr to 0 when no multicast

In PG2.0 there is an issue where PHY's FDSP Code RAM sometimes gets
corrupted when exiting from ELP mode. This issue is related to FDSP
Code RAM clock implementation.
PG2.1 introduces a HW fix for this issue that requires the driver to

of its own clock).
This workaround uses PHY_FPGA_SPARE_1 register and is relevant to WL8

The fix is done in the wl18xx_pre_upload function (must be performed

1. Disable FDSP clock
2. Set ATPG clock toward FDSP Code RAM rather than its own clock.

This patch adds support for the Broadcom BCM6345 SoC Ethernet. BCM6345
has a slightly different and older DMA engine which requires the
following modifications:
- the width of the DMA channels on BCM6345 is 64 bytes vs 16 bytes,
which means that the helpers enet_dma{c,s} need to account for this
channel width and we can no longer use macros
- BCM6345 DMA engine does not have any internal SRAM for transfering
buffers
- BCM6345 buffer allocation and flow control is not per-channel but
global (done in RSET_ENETDMA)
- the DMA engine bits are right-shifted by 3 compared to other DMA
generations
- the DMA enable/interrupt masks are a little different (we need to
enabled more bits for 6345)
- some register have the same meaning but are offsetted in the ENET_DMAC
space so a lookup table is required to return the proper offset
The MAC itself is identical and requires no modifications to work.

With the new rate control API, the driver can now apply the
tx rate to outgoing frames just before they are uploaded to
the device. This is important because the rate control can
now react to fading or improving links a bit sooner.
Also, the driver no longer needs to sort the outgoing frames
for sample attempts (which affected the size of A-MPDUs and
the throughput of the link). For aggregated data frames, the
driver (and rate control) needs only to calculate and apply
a single set of tx rates to every subframe of the whole
aggregate.

Some systems that don't need wake-on-lan may choose to power down the
chip on system standby. Upon resume, the power on causes the boot code
to startup and initialize the hardware. On one new platform, this is
causing the device to go into a bad state due to a race between the
driver and boot code, once every several hundred resumes. The same race
exists on open since we come up from a power on.
This patch adds a wait for boot code signature at the beginning of
tg3_init_hw() which is common to both cases. If there has not been a
power-off or the boot code has already completed, the signature will be
present and poll_fw() returns immediately. Also return immediately if
the device does not have firmware.

First the type of igmp_retrans (which is the actual counter of
igmp_resend parameter) is changed to u8 to be able to store values up
to 255 (as per documentation). There are two races that were hidden
there and which are easy to trigger after the previous fix, the first is
between bond_resend_igmp_join_requests and bond_change_active_slave
where igmp_retrans is set and can be altered by the periodic. The second
race condition is between multiple running instances of the periodic
(upon execution it can be scheduled again for immediate execution which
can cause the counter to go < 0 which in the unsigned case leads to
unnecessary igmp retransmissions).
Since in bond_change_active_slave bond->lock is held for reading and
curr_slave_lock for writing, we use curr_slave_lock for mutual
exclusion. We can't drop them as there're cases where RTNL is not held
when bond_change_active_slave is called. RCU is unlocked in
bond_resend_igmp_join_requests before getting curr_slave_lock since we
don't need it there and it's pointless to delay.
The decrement is moved inside the "if" block because if we decrement
unconditionally there's still a possibility for a race condition although
it is much more difficult to hit (many changes have to happen in
a very short period in order to trigger) which in the case of 3 parallel
running instances of this function and igmp_retrans == 1
(with check bond->igmp_retrans-- > 1) is:
f1 passes, doesn't re-schedule, but decrements - igmp_retrans = 0
f2 then passes, doesn't re-schedule, but decrements - igmp_retrans = 255
f3 does the unnecessary retransmissions.

"macvlan: add FDB bridge ops and macvlan flags"
added a way to control NOPROMISC macvlan flag through netlink.
However, with a non passthrough device we never set promisc on open,
even if NOPROMISC is off. As a result:
If userspace clears NOPROMISC on open, then does not clear it on a
netlink command, promisc counter is not decremented on stop and there
will be no way to clear it once macvlan is detached.
If userspace does not clear NOPROMISC on open, then sets NOPROMISC on a
netlink command, promisc counter will be decremented from 0 and overflow
to fffffffff with no way to clear promisc.
To fix, simply ignore NOPROMISC flag in a netlink command for
non-passthrough devices, same as we do at open/close.
Since we touch this code anyway - check dev_set_promiscuity return code
and pass it to users (though an error here is unlikely).

The commits,
"ath9k: Fix regression in channelwidth switch at the same channel"
"ath9k: Fix invalid noisefloor reading due to channel update"
attempted to fix noisefloor calibration when a channel switch
happens due to HT20/HT40 bandwidth change. This is causing invalid
readings resulting in messages like:
"ath: phy16: NF[0] (-45) > MAX (-95), correcting to MAX".
This results in an incorrect noise being used initially for reporting
the signal level of received packets, until NF calibration is done
and the history buffer is updated via the ANI timer, which happens
much later.
When a bandwidth change happens, it is appropriate to reset
the internal history data for the channel. Do this correctly in the
reset() routine by checking the "chanmode" variable.

The CAB (Content after Beacon) queue is used for beacon-triggered
transmission of buffered multicast frames. If lots of multicast frames
were buffered and this queue fills up, it drowns out all regular
traffic. To limit the damage that buffered traffic can do, try to limit
the queued data to becaon_interval / 8.

PATCH "mwifiex: scan delay timer cleanup in unload path" adds code
to cancel scan delay timer in unload path. It causes a regression
for USB interface.
USB8797 card gets enumerated twice. First enumeration is for
firmware download and second enumeration expects firmware
initialization.
It was observed that we are trying del_timer_sync() without setting
up the timer when remove handler is called after first enumeration.
This patch moves setup_timer() call to appropriate place so that
timer is setup for both the enumerations.
