The parts which touch other areas (ARM/XEN) have been coordinated with
the relevant maintainers. Though this results in an handful of
trivial to solve merge conflicts, which we preferred over nasty cross
tree merge dependencies.
The patches which have been committed in the last few days are bug
fixes plus the posix timer lot. The latter was in akpms queue and
next for quite some time; they just got forgotten and Frederic
collected them last minute."

ARM SoC driver specific changes
These changes are all driver specific and cross over between arm-soc contents and some other subsystem, in these cases cpufreq, crypto, dma, pinctrl, mailbox and usb, and the subsystem owners agreed to have these changes merged through arm-soc. As we proceed to untangle the dependencies between platform code and driver code, the amount of changes in this category is fortunately shrinking, for 3.11 we have 16 branches here and 101 non-merge changesets, the majority of which are for the stedma40 dma engine driver used in the ux500 platform. Cleaning up that code touches multiple subsystems, but gets rid of the dependency in the end. The mailbox code moved out from mach-omap2 to drivers/mailbox is an intermediate step and is still omap specific at the moment. Patches exist to generalize the subsystem and add other drivers with the same API, but those did not make it for 3.11. Since the shmobile platform still uses board files for some of the newer machines, we get a few changes there as the result of drivers getting enabled for those boards. ARM: OMAP1: Remove legacy irda.h and irda setup from board files
omap-ir.c driver has never been upstream and was also removed from
linux-omap.git four years ago (See linux-omap.git commit efd1e3f
("REMOVE OMAP LEGACY CODE: Reset drivers/net/irda to mainline")).
Therefore remove needless device registration from a few board files
and delete thus to be unused arch/arm/mach-omap1/include/mach/irda.h
and unused OMAP_DMA_UART3_* definitions from dma.h.

ARM: OMAP1: Remove duplicated DMA channel definitions
Similarly than with OMAP2 there are many DMA channel definitions that have
been moved or redefined in drivers using them and we can remove them from
dma.h.
There is exception with MMC that arch/arm/mach-omap1/devices.c is using
MMC DMA channel definitions for setting platform data but those can be well
replaced with numeric values.
Remove dma.h include from arch/arm/mach-omap1/devices.c and use a script
below for dropping duplicated definitions and for replacing definitions
with DMA channel numbers.

arch/arm/mach-omap1/mcbsp.c is only place where OMAP1 McBSP DMA channel
definitions are set. We may well use numerical values there and get rid
of their definitions in arch/arm/mach-omap1/dma.h.

mailbox/omap: move the OMAP mailbox framework to drivers
The mailbox hardware (in OMAP) uses a queued mailbox interrupt
mechanism that provides a communication channel between processors
through a set of registers and their associated interrupt signals
by sending and receiving messages.
The OMAP mailbox framework/driver code is moved to be under
drivers/mailbox, in preparation for adapting to a common mailbox
driver framework. This allows the build for OMAP mailbox to be
enabled (it was disabled during the multi-platform support).
As part of the migration from plat and mach code:
- Kconfig symbols have been renamed to build OMAP1 or OMAP2+ drivers.
- mailbox.h under plat-omap/plat/include has been split into a public
and private header files. The public header has only the API related
functions and types.
- The module name mailbox.ko from plat-omap is changed to
omap-mailbox.ko
- The module name mailbox_mach.ko from mach-omapX is changed as
mailbox_omap1.ko for OMAP1
mailbox_omap2.ko for OMAP2+

The series cleans up ARCH_HAS_DECOMP_WDOG and arch_decomp_wdog which
are unused on ARM architecure. Samsung has some code setting up wdog in arch_decomp_wdog(). But since CONFIG_S3C_BOOT_WATCHDOG is defined nowhere, it will not run. ARM: use clockevents_config_and_register() where possible
The clockevent core is able to figure out the best mult and shift, calculate min_delta_ns and max_delta_ns, with the necessary info passed into clockevents_config_and_register(). Use this combined configure and register function where possible to make the codes less error prone and gain some positive diff stat. ARM: OMAP: Fix i2c cmdline initcall for multiplatform
We only want this initcall to run when the kernel is booted on omap SoCs. Fix the issue by initializing the the initcall from separately for omap1 and omap2+. ARM/...: timer and clock events cleanup, and remove struct sys_timer
This branch contains a number of cleanups and unifications to various
timer- clock-events- and ARM timer code. The main points are:
1) Convert arch_gettimeoffset to a pointer, so that architectures with
multiple timer implementations can simply set this standard pointer
rather than maintaining their own arch-specific pointers for the
same purpose. Various architectures are converted to using this new
feature.
2) Conversion of ARM timer implementations to use clock_event_devices's
suspend/resume operations, rather than the ARM-specific sys_timer
versions. Thus, the ARM code begins to use more common infra-structure
rather than arch-specific code.
3) Removal of ARM's struct sys_timer completely, now that everything uses
common code.
4) Introduction of drivers/clocksource/clksrc-of.c, which allows ARM clock
source implementations to be moved into drivers/clocksource, with the
need to add SoC-specific header files for each timer initialization
function; instead, all enabled implementations are registered into a
table which a single core function iterates over, and calls the
relevant initialization functions based on device tree. At least the
Tegra and BCM2835 clocksource implementations will use this feature in
the 3.9 kernel cycle.

ARM: delete struct sys_timer
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself.
