Thinh Nguyen 8411993e79 usb: dwc3: gadget: Remove unnecessary checks
Remove 2 unnecessary checks:
1) A request in the started_list must have its trb field set. So
checking for req->trb is unnecessary.

2) An endpoint must have started (and have not ended) for the request to
still be in the started_list. There's no point to check if the endpoint
is started. We had this check because previously the driver didn't
handle the endpoint's started/ended flags for END_TRANSFER command
properly. See commit 9f45581f5e ("usb: dwc3: gadget: early giveback
if End Transfer already completed").

Thinh Nguyen a7027ca69d usb: dwc3: gadget: Give back staled requests
If a request is dequeued, the transfer is cancelled. Give back all
the started requests.

In most scenarios, the function driver dequeues all requests of a
transfer when there's a failure. If the function driver follows this,
then it's fine. If not, then we'd be skipping TRBs at different points
within the dequeue and enqueue pointers, making dequeue/enqueue pointers
useless. To enforce and make sure that we're properly skipping TRBs,
cancel all the started requests and give back all the cancelled requests
to the function drivers.

Thinh Nguyen cb11ea56f3 usb: dwc3: gadget: Properly handle ClearFeature(halt)
DWC3 must not issue CLEAR_STALL command to control endpoints. The
controller automatically clears the STALL when it receives the SETUP
token. Also, when the driver receives ClearFeature(halt_ep), DWC3 must
stop any active transfer from the endpoint and give back all the
requests to the function drivers.

Martin Kepplinger c2cd3452d5 usb: dwc3: support continuous runtime PM with dual role
The DRD module calls dwc3_set_mode() on role switches, i.e. when a device is
being plugged in. In order to support continuous runtime power management when
plugging in / unplugging a cable, we need to call pm_runtime_get_sync() in
this path.

Thinh Nguyen 49e0590e3a usb: dwc3: gadget: Fix request completion check
A request may not be completed because not all the TRBs are prepared for
it. This happens when we run out of available TRBs. When some TRBs are
completed, the driver needs to prepare the rest of the TRBs for the
request. The check dwc3_gadget_ep_request_completed() shouldn't be
checking the amount of data received but rather the number of pending
TRBs. Revise this request completion check.

Thinh Nguyen d0550cd20e usb: dwc3: gadget: Do link recovery for SS and SSP
The controller always supports link recovery for device in SS and SSP.
Remove the speed limit check. Also, when the device is in RESUME or
RESET state, it means the controller received the resume/reset request.
The driver must send the link recovery to acknowledge the request. They
are valid states for the driver to send link recovery.

Thinh Nguyen d94ea53198 usb: dwc3: gadget: Properly set maxpacket limit
Currently the calculation of max packet size limit for IN endpoints is
too restrictive. This prevents a matching of a capable hardware endpoint
during configuration. Below is the minimum recommended HW configuration
to support a particular endpoint setup from the databook:

For OUT endpoints, the databook recommended the minimum RxFIFO size to
be at least 3x MaxPacketSize + 3x setup packets size (8 bytes each) +
clock crossing margin (16 bytes).

For IN endpoints, the databook recommended the minimum TxFIFO size to be
at least 3x MaxPacketSize for endpoints that support burst. If the
endpoint doesn't support burst or when the device is operating in USB
2.0 mode, a minimum TxFIFO size of 2x MaxPacketSize is recommended.

Base on these recommendations, we can calculate the MaxPacketSize limit
of each endpoint. This patch revises the IN endpoint MaxPacketSize limit
and also sets the MaxPacketSize limit for OUT endpoints.

John Stultz 4a1d042af4 usb: dwc3: Rework resets initialization to be more flexible
The dwc3 core binding specifies one reset.

However some variants of the hardware may have more. Previously
this was handled by using the dwc3-of-simple glue driver, but
that resulted in a proliferation of bindings for for every
variant, when the only difference was the clocks and resets
lists.

So this patch reworks the reading of the resets to fetch all the
resets specified in the dts together.

This patch was recommended by Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>
as an alternative to creating multiple bindings for each variant
of hardware.

system about the negotiated data role, so registering a role

Neil Armstrong 7ba6b09fda usb: dwc3: core: add support for disabling SS instances in park mode
In certain circumstances, the XHCI SuperSpeed instance in park mode
can fail to recover, thus on Amlogic G12A/G12B/SM1 SoCs when there is high
load on the single XHCI SuperSpeed instance, the controller can crash like:
 xhci-hcd xhci-hcd.0.auto: xHCI host not responding to stop endpoint command.
 xhci-hcd xhci-hcd.0.auto: Host halt failed, -110
 xhci-hcd xhci-hcd.0.auto: xHCI host controller not responding, assume dead
 xhci-hcd xhci-hcd.0.auto: xHCI host not responding to stop endpoint command.
 hub 2-1.1:1.0: hub_ext_port_status failed (err = -22)
 xhci-hcd xhci-hcd.0.auto: HC died; cleaning up
 usb 2-1.1-port1: cannot reset (err = -22)

Setting the PARKMODE_DISABLE_SS bit in the DWC3_USB3_GUCTL1 mitigates
the issue. The bit is described as :
"When this bit is set to '1' all SS bus instances in park mode are disabled"

Synopsys explains:
The GUCTL1.PARKMODE_DISABLE_SS is only available in
dwc_usb3 controller running in host mode.
This should not be set for other IPs.
This can be disabled by default based on IP, but I recommend to have a
property to enable this feature for devices that need this.

By printing enqueue/dequeue pointers, we can make sure that our TRB
handling is correct. We've had a recent situation where we were not
always dequeueing all TRBs in an SG list and this helped figure out
what the problem was.

Heikki Krogerus bce3052f0c usb: roles: Provide the switch drivers handle to the switch in the API
The USB role callback functions had a parameter pointing to
the parent device (struct device) of the switch. The
assumption was that the switch parent is always the
controller. Firstly, that may not be true in every case, and
secondly, it prevents us from supporting devices that supply
multiple muxes.

Changing the first parameter of usb_role_switch_set_t and
usb_role_switch_get_t from struct device to struct
usb_role_switch.

Pratham Pratap dad2aff3e8 usb: dwc3: gadget: Update chain bit correctly when using sg list
If scatter-gather operation is allowed, a large USB request is split
into multiple TRBs. For preparing TRBs for sg list, driver iterates
over the list and creates TRB for each sg and mark the chain bit to
false for the last sg. The current IOMMU driver is clubbing the list
of sgs which shares a page boundary into one and giving it to USB driver.
With this the number of sgs mapped it not equal to the the number of sgs
passed. Because of this USB driver is not marking the chain bit to false
since it couldn't iterate to the last sg. This patch addresses this issue
by marking the chain bit to false if it is the last mapped sg.

At a practical level, this patch resolves USB transfer stalls
seen with adb on dwc3 based db845c, pixel3 and other qcom
hardware after functionfs gadget added scatter-gather support
around v4.20.

Anurag Kumar Vulisha 5ee858975b usb: dwc3: gadget: Check for IOC/LST bit in TRB->ctrl fields
The current code in dwc3_gadget_ep_reclaim_completed_trb() will
check for IOC/LST bit in the event->status and returns if
IOC/LST bit is set. This logic doesn't work if multiple TRBs
are queued per request and the IOC/LST bit is set on the last
TRB of that request.

Consider an example where a queued request has multiple queued
TRBs and IOC/LST bit is set only for the last TRB. In this case,
the core generates XferComplete/XferInProgress events only for
the last TRB (since IOC/LST are set only for the last TRB). As
per the logic in dwc3_gadget_ep_reclaim_completed_trb()
event->status is checked for IOC/LST bit and returns on the
first TRB. This leaves the remaining TRBs left unhandled.

Similarly, if the gadget function enqueues an unaligned request
with sglist already in it, it should fail the same way, since we
will append another TRB to something that already uses more than
one TRB.

To aviod this, this patch changes the code to check for IOC/LST
bits in TRB->ctrl instead.

At a practical level, this patch resolves USB transfer stalls seen
with adb on dwc3 based HiKey960 after functionfs gadget added
scatter-gather support around v4.20.

Thinh Nguyen cf2f8b63f7 usb: dwc3: gadget: Remove END_TRANSFER delay
We had a 100us delay to synchronize the END_TRANSFER command completion
before giving back requests to the function drivers. Now, the controller
driver can handle cancelled TRBs with the requests' cancelled_list and
it can also wait until the END_TRANSFER completion before starting new
transfers. Synchronization can simply base on the controller's command
completion interrupt. The 100us delay is no longer needed. Remove this
arbitrary delay.

While the END_TRANSFER command is sent but not completed, any request
dequeue during this time will cause the driver to issue the END_TRANSFER
command. The driver needs to submit the command only once to stop the
controller from processing further. The controller may take more time to
process the same command multiple times unnecessarily. Let's add a flag
DWC3_EP_END_TRANSFER_PENDING to check for this condition.

set GFLADJ_30MHZ, GFLADJ_30MHZ_REG until GFLADJ_30MHZ is equal 0x20, if
the conditions were met then issue occur, but whatever the conditions
whether were met that usb is all need keep GFLADJ_30MHZ of value is 0x20
(xhci spec ask use GFLADJ_30MHZ to adjust any offset from clock source
that generates the clock that drives the SOF counter, 0x20 is default
value of it)That is normal logic, so need remove the call trace.

Thinh Nguyen 9ba3aca8fe usb: dwc3: Disable phy suspend after power-on reset
For DRD controllers, the programming guide recommended that
GUSB3PIPECTL.SUSPENDABLE and GUSB2PHYCFG.SUSPHY to be cleared after
power-on reset and only set after the controller initialization is
completed. This can be done after device soft-reset in dwc3_core_init().
This patch makes sure to clear GUSB3PIPECTL.SUSPENDABLE and
GUSB2PHYCFG.SUSPHY before core initialization and only set them after
the device soft-reset is completed.

Reference: DWC_usb3 3.30a and DWC_usb31 1.90a programming guide section
1.2.49 and 1.2.45

Hans de Goede f146b40ba1 usb: dwc3: Switch to platform_get_irq_byname_optional()
The dwc3 code to get the "peripheral" / "host" / "otg" IRQ first tries
platform_get_irq_byname() and then falls back to the IRQ at index 0 if
the platform_get_irq_byname().

In this case we do not want platform_get_irq_byname() to print an error
on failure, so switch to platform_get_irq_byname_optional() instead which
does not print an error.

Calls to USB2 generic PHY calibrate() method has been moved to HCD core,
which now successfully handles generic PHYs and their calibration after
every HCD reset. This fixes all the timing issues related to PHY

system suspend/resume or USB3.0 detection failure when XHCI-plat driver
compiled as separate module.

Thinh Nguyen 17b63704ec usb: dwc3: gadget: Workaround Mirosoft's BESL check
While testing our host system using Microsoft's usb stack against our
gadget for various BESL values, we found an issue with their usb stack
when the recommended baseline BESL value is 0 (125us) or when the deep
BESL is 1 or less. The Windows host will issue a usb reset immediately
after it receives the extended BOS descriptor and the enumeration will
fail after a few attempts.

To keep compatibility with Microsoft's host usb stack, let's workaround
this issue by using the recommended baseline BESL of 1 (or 150us)
and clamp the deep BESL value within 2 to 15.

This was tested against Windows 10 build 18956.

Thinh Nguyen 54fb5ba647 usb: dwc3: gadget: Set BESL config parameter
When operating with LPM signals, the controller asserts the deep
low-power signal (utmi_l1_suspend_n) to the phy when the BESL value of
the LPM token is equal to or greater than DCTL.HIRD_Thres[3:0] (and
with DCTL.HIRD_Thres[4] set). Otherwise, the shallow low-power signal
(utmi_sleep_n) is asserted. Set the recommended deep BESL equal to the
controller's DCTL.HIRD_Thres[3:0] setting, and set the baseline BESL
to 0 for the shallow low-power signal. This maximizes the opportunity
for L1 residency and optimizes power savings.

Nishka Dasgupta e36721b901 usb: dwc3: st: Add of_node_put() before return in probe function
The local variable child in the function st_dwc3_probe takes the return
value of of_get_child_by_name, which gets a node and does not put it. If
the function returns without releasing child, this could cause a memory
error. Hence put child as soon as there is no more use for it. Also
create a new label, err_node_put, just before label undo_softreset; so
that err_node_put puts child. In between initialisation of child and its
first put, modify all statements that go to undo_softreset to now go to
err_node_put instead, from where they can fall through to
undo_softreset.
Issue found with Coccinelle.

Marek Szyprowski 3cd703f483 usb: dwc3: remove generic PHYs forwarding for XHCI device
Commit 08f871a3ac ("usb: dwc3: host: convey the PHYs to xhci") added
forwarding of the generic PHYs from DWC3 core to the instantiated XHCI-plat
device. However XHCI(-plat) driver never gained support for generic PHYs,
thus the lookup added by that commit is never used. In meantime the commit
d64ff406e5 ("usb: dwc3: use bus->sysdev for DMA configuration")
incorrectly changed the device used for creating lookup, making the lookup
useless and generic PHYs inaccessible from XHCI device.

However since commit 178a0bce05 ("usb: core: hcd: integrate the PHY
wrapper into the HCD core") USB HCD already handles generic PHYs acquired
from the HCD's 'sysdev', which in this case is DWC3 core device. This means
that creating any custom lookup entries for XHCI driver is no longer needed
and can be simply removed.

Starting from DWC_usb31 version 1.90a and later, the DCTL.CSFRST bit
will not be cleared until after all the internal clocks are synchronized
during soft-reset. This may take a little more than 50ms. Set the
polling rate at 20ms instead.

Additionally, patch adds usb_decode_ctrl function to
include/linux/usb/gadget.h file.

Anurag Kumar Vulisha 729dcffd1e usb: dwc3: gadget: Add support for disabling U1 and U2 entries
Gadget applications may have a requirement to disable the U1 and U2
entry based on the usecase. Below are few usecases where the disabling
U1/U2 entries may be possible.

Usecase 1:
When combining dwc3 with an redriver for a USB Type-C device solution, it
sometimes have problems with leaving U1/U2 for certain hosts, resulting in
link training errors and reconnects. For this U1/U2 state entries may be
avoided.

Usecase 2:
When performing performance benchmarking on mass storage gadget the
U1 and U2 entries can be disabled.

Usecase 3:
When periodic transfers like ISOC transfers are used with bInterval
of 1 which doesn't require the link to enter into U1 or U2 state entry
(since ping is issued from host for every uframe interval). In this
case the U1 and U2 entry can be disabled.

Disablement of U1/U2 can be done by setting U1DevExitLat and U2DevExitLat
values to 0 in the BOS descriptor. Host on seeing 0 value for U1DevExitLat
and U2DevExitLat, it doesn't send SET_SEL requests to the gadget. There
may be some hosts which may send SET_SEL requests even after seeing 0 in
the UxDevExitLat of BOS descriptor. To aviod U1/U2 entries for these type
of hosts, dwc3 controller can be programmed to reject those U1/U2 requests
by not enabling ACCEPTUxENA bits in DCTL register.

This patch updates the same.

Enric Balletbo i Serra dc1b5d9aed usb: dwc3: Fix core validation in probe, move after clocks are enabled
The required clocks needs to be enabled before the first register
access. After commit fe8abf332b ("usb: dwc3: support clocks and resets
for DWC3 core"), this happens when the dwc3_core_is_valid function is
called, but the mentioned commit adds that call in the wrong place,
before the clocks are enabled. So, move that call after the
clk_bulk_enable() to ensure the clocks are enabled and the reset
deasserted.

I detected this while, as experiment, I tried to move the clocks and resets
from the glue layer to the DWC3 core on a Samsung Chromebook Plus.

That was not detected before because, in most cases, the glue layer
initializes SoC-specific things and then populates the child "snps,dwc3"
with those clocks already enabled.

Lee Jones a6e456209d usb: dwc3: qcom: Start USB in 'host mode' on the SDM845
When booting with Device Tree, the current default boot configuration
table option, the request to boot via 'host mode' comes from the
'dr_mode' property.  A property of the same name can be used inside
ACPI tables too.  However it is missing from the SDM845's ACPI tables
so we have to supply this information using Platform Device Properties
instead.

This does not change the behaviour of any currently supported devices.
The property is only set on ACPI enabled platforms, thus for H/W
booting DT, unless a 'dr_mode' property is present, the default is
still OTG (On-The-Go) as per [0].  Any new ACPI devices added will
also be able to over-ride this implementation by providing a 'dr_mode'
property in their ACPI tables.  In cases where 'dr_mode' is omitted
from the tables AND 'host mode' should not be the default (very
unlikely), then we will have to add some way of choosing between them
at run time - most likely by ACPI HID.

Lee Jones 2bc02355f8 usb: dwc3: qcom: Add support for booting with ACPI
In Linux, the DWC3 core exists as its own independent platform device.
Thus when describing relationships in Device Tree, the current default
boot configuration table option, the DWC3 core often resides as a child
of the platform specific node.  Both of which are given their own
address space descriptions and the drivers can be mostly agnostic to
each other.

However, other Operating Systems have taken a more monolithic approach,
which is evident in the configuration ACPI tables for the Qualcomm
Snapdragon SDM850, where all DWC3 (core and platform) components are
described under a single IO memory region.

To ensure successful booting using the supplied ACPI tables, we need to
devise a way to chop up the address regions provided and subsequently
register the DWC3 core with the resultant information, which is
precisely what this patch aims to achieve.
