Laurent Pinchart 0b20a0f8c3 drm: Add old state pointer to CRTC .enable() helper function
The old state is useful for drivers that need to perform operations at
enable time that depend on the transition between the old and new
states.

While at it, rename the operation to .atomic_enable() to be consistent
with .atomic_disable(), as the .enable() operation is used by atomic
helpers only.

Leonard Crestez e36aecba54 drm/imx: imx-ldb: Accept drm_of_find_panel_or_bridge failure
Not having an endpoint bound in DT should not cause a failure here,
there are fallbacks. So explicitly accept a missing endpoint.

This behavior change was introduced by refactoring in drm_of parsing
code and it should not require dts changes.

In particular this fixes imx6qdl-sabreauto boards.

Jose Abreu b0febde779 drm/bridge/synopsys: dw-hdmi: Use bridge->mode_valid() callback
Now that we have a callback to check if bridge supports a given mode
we can use it in Synopsys Designware HDMI bridge so that we restrict
the number of probbed modes to the ones we can actually display.

Also, there is no need to use mode_fixup() callback as mode_valid()
will handle the mode validation.

NOTE: I also had to change the pdata declaration of mode_valid
custom callback so that the passed modes are const. I also changed
in the platforms I found. Not even compiled it though.

Robert Foss c2c446ad29 drm: Add DRM_MODE_ROTATE_ and DRM_MODE_REFLECT_ to UAPI
Add DRM_MODE_ROTATE_ and DRM_MODE_REFLECT_ defines to the UAPI
as a convenience.

Ideally the DRM_ROTATE_ and DRM_REFLECT_ property ids are looked up
through the atomic API, but realizing that userspace is likely to take
shortcuts and assume that the enum values are what is sent over the
wire.

As a result these defines are provided purely as a convenience to
userspace applications.

Changes since v3:
 - Switched away from past tense in comments
 - Add define name change to previously mis-spelled DRM_REFLECT_X comment
 - Improved the comment for the DRM_MODE_REFLECT_<axis> comment

Changes since v2:
 - Changed define prefix from DRM_MODE_PROP_ to DRM_MODE_
 - Fix compilation errors
 - Changed comment formatting
 - Deduplicated comment lines
 - Clarified DRM_MODE_PROP_REFLECT_ comment

Changes since v1:
 - Moved defines from drm.h to drm_mode.h
 - Changed define prefix from DRM_ to DRM_MODE_PROP_
 - Updated uses of the defines to the new prefix
 - Removed include from drm_rect.c
 - Stopped using the BIT() macro

Rob Herring ebc9446135 drm: convert drivers to use drm_of_find_panel_or_bridge
Similar to the previous commit, convert drivers open coding OF graph
parsing to use drm_of_find_panel_or_bridge instead.

This changes some error messages to debug messages (in the graph core).
Graph connections are often "no connects" depending on the particular

Lucas Stach 3d1df96ad4 drm/imx: merge imx-drm-core and ipuv3-crtc in one module
While it is possible to hook other CRTC implementations into imx-drm
in practice there are none yet and the option to disable ipuv3-crtc
support has been hidden for a long time.

Now that the imx-drm-core has learned to deal with some of the
specifics of IPUv3 there is a cyclic dependency between both parts.
To get rid of this and to decimate the Kconfig maze a bit, simply
merge both parts into one module.

Philipp Zabel eb8c88808c drm/imx: add deferred plane disabling
The DP (display processor) channel disable code tried to busy wait for
the DP sync flow end interrupt status bit when disabling the partial
plane without a full modeset. That never worked reliably, and it was
disabled completely by the recent "gpu: ipu-v3: remove IRQ dance on DC
channel disable" patch, causing ipu_wait_interrupt to always time out
after 50 ms, which in turn would trigger a timeout in
drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks.

This patch changes ipu_plane_atomic_disable to only queue a DP channel
register update at the next frame boundary and set a flag, which can be
done without any waiting whatsoever. The imx_drm_atomic_commit_tail then
calls a new ipu_plane_disable_deferred function that does the actual
IDMAC teardown of the planes that are flagged for deferred disabling,
after waiting for the vblank.

imx-drm: TVE regulator, fb size limit, and ipu-v3 module fixes

- Fix i.MX5 TV encoder probing in case no dac-supply regulator
is set in the device tree.
- Remove 64 pixel min_width/height limit, which unnecessarily
prohibits creation of small frame buffers.
- Add missing ipu_csi_set_downsize export, for media drivers
  built as modules.
- Stop modifying pdev->dev.of_node for IPU client devices that
do not have an OF modalias to fix module autoloading.

Philipp Zabel f57c511a9d drm/imx: lift 64x64 pixel minimum framebuffer size requirement
There is no reason to limit framebuffer size to 64x64 pixels at a
minimum on creation. The actual scanout limitations (width >= 13 for the
base plane and height >= 2) are checked in atomic_check.

Commit deb65870b5 ("drm/imx: imx-tve: check the value returned by
regulator_set_voltage()") exposes the following probe issue:

63ff0000.tve supply dac not found, using dummy regulator
imx-drm display-subsystem: failed to bind 63ff0000.tve (ops imx_tve_ops): -22

When the 'dac-supply' is not passed in the device tree a dummy regulator is
used and setting its voltage is not allowed.

To fix this issue, do not set the dac-supply voltage inside the driver
and let its voltage be specified in the device tree.

Print a warning if the the 'dac-supply' voltage has a value different
from 2.75V.

Shawn Guo 44b460cfe5 drm: imx: remove struct imx_drm_crtc and imx_drm_crtc_helper_funcs
With the vblank hooks in struct drm_crtc_funcs, we do not need to
maintain the CRTC specific vblank callbacks with struct
imx_drm_crtc_helper_funcs any more. By moving the stuff that we
currently do in imx_drm_add_crtc(), like of_node setting and
drm_crtc_helper_add()/drm_crtc_init_with_planes() invoking, we can kill
things like struct imx_drm_crtc, imx_drm_crtc_helper_funcs and related
functions completely.

Functions ipu_enable_vblank() and ipu_disable_vblank() are moved around
without changes, only for saving the forward declarations.

Ville Syrjälä dbd4d5761e drm: Replace 'format->format' comparisons to just 'format' comparisons
Rather than compare the format u32s of two format infos, we can direclty
compare the format info pointers themselves. Noramlly all the ->format
pointers all point to somwehere in the big array, so this is a valid
way to test for equality.

Also drivers may want to point ->format at a private format info struct
instead (eg. for special compressed formats with extra planes), so
just comparing the pixel format values wouldn't necessaritly even work.
But comparing the pointers will also take care of that case.

Lucas Stach 5ced937b7d drm/imx: disable planes before DC
If the DC clock is disabled before the attached IDMACs are properly
stopped the IDMACs may hang the IPU or even the whole system.

Make sure the IDMACs are in safe state by disabling the planes before
removal of the DC clock.

Also set the atomic parameter to false to stop calling the atomic_begin
hook, which does nothing useful as we immediately afterwards turn off
vblank interrupts and possibly send the pending vblank event.
