This patch provides an infrastructure to register & unregister a USB
function. This allows to turn a function into a module and avoid the
'#include "f_.*.c"' magic and we get a clear API / cut between the bare
gadget and its functions.
The concept is simple:
Each function defines the DECLARE_USB_FUNCTION_INIT macro whith an unique
name of the function and two allocation functions.
- one to create an "instance". The instance holds the current configuration
set. In case there are two usb_configudations with one function there will
be one instance and two usb_functions
- one to create an "function" from the instance.
The name of the instance is used to automaticaly load the module if it the
instance is not yet available.
The usb_function callbacks are slightly modified and extended:
- usb_get_function()
creates a struct usb_function inclunding all pointers (bind,
unbind,…). It uses the "instance" to map its configuration. So we can
have _two_ struct usb_function, one for each usb_configuration.
- ->unbind()
Since the struct usb_function was not allocated in ->bind() it should
not kfree()d here. This function should only reverse what happens in
->bind() that is request cleanup and the cleanup of allocated
descriptors.
- ->free_func()
a simple kfree() of the struct usb_function

The setup request can be sent to an interface/endpoint or to the device
itself. If it is sent to an interface / endpoint then we forward it to
the function that is mapped to that interface / endpoint.
If the device is the target of the setup request then we forward it to the
->setup() callback of the currently active configuration.
In case of the sourcesink function the requests are function specific
but are sent to the device.
This patch introduces a setup wrapper at configuration level which
forwards the request to the function. By using this wrapper we can keep
the function specific code within the function file and we need just a
hint at config level to forward the request.
The here introduced global variable will be moved into the gadget (which
combines the two functions) in a later patch.
SourceSink is currently the only function using ->setup() at config level.

That is crash from nokia_unbind() invoked via nokia_bind(). This crash
will look different we if make it until usb_string_ids_tab() before we
enter an error condition in the probe function.
nokia_bind_config() tries to clean up which is IMHO the right thing to
do. Leaving things as-is and hoping that its unbind() will clean it up
is kinda backwards. Especially since the bind function never succeeded so
it can't know how much it needs to clean up.
This fixes the behaviour by not calling the driver's unbind function if
its bind function failed.

The option allows you to remove TTY and compile without errors. This
saves space on systems that won't support TTY interfaces anyway.
bloat-o-meter output is below.
The bulk of this patch consists of Kconfig changes adding "depends on
TTY" to various serial devices and similar drivers that require the TTY
layer. Ideally, these dependencies would occur on a common intermediate
symbol such as SERIO, but most drivers "select SERIO" rather than
"depends on SERIO", and "select" does not respect dependencies.
bloat-o-meter output comparing our previous minimal to new minimal by
removing TTY. The list is filtered to not show removed entries with awk
'$3 != "-"' as the list was very long.

If we do have endpoints named like "ep-a" then bEndpointAddress is
counted internally by the gadget framework.
If we do have endpoints named like "ep-1" then bEndpointAddress is
assigned from the digit after "ep-".
If we do have both, then it is likely that after we used up the
"generic" endpoints we will use the digits and thus assign one
bEndpointAddress to multiple endpoints.
This theory can be proofed by using the completely enabled g_multi.
Without this patch, the mass storage won't enumerate and times out
because it shares endpoints with RNDIS.
This patch also adds fills up the endpoints list so we have in total
endpoints 1 to 15 in + out available while some of them are restricted
to certain types like BULK or ISO. Without this change the nokia gadget
won't load because the system does not provide enough (BULK) endpoints
but it did before ep-a - ep-f were removed.

ASID TLB tagging updates.
We move to a build-time sorted exception table rather than doing the

Here's the big set of USB patches for 3.8-rc1.
Lots of USB host driver cleanups in here, and a bit of a reorg of the
EHCI driver to make it easier for the different EHCI platform drivers to
all work together nicer, which was a reduction in overall code. We also
deleted some unused firmware files, and got rid of the very old
file_storage usb gadget driver that had been broken for a long time.
This means we ended up removing way more code than added, always a nice
thing to see:
310 files changed, 3028 insertions(+), 10754 deletions(-)
Other than that, the usual set of new device ids, driver fixes, gadget
driver and controller updates and the like.

Based on earlier discussions[1] we attempted to find a suitable
location for the omap DMA header in commit 2b6c4e73 (ARM: OMAP:
DMA: Move plat/dma.h to plat-omap/dma-omap.h) until the conversion
to dmaengine is complete.
Unfortunately that was before I was able to try to test compile
of the ARM multiplatform builds for omap2+, and the end result
was not very good.
So I'm creating yet another all over the place patch to cut the
last dependency for building omap2+ for ARM multiplatform. After
this, we have finally removed the driver dependencies to the
arch/arm code, except for few drivers that are being worked on.
The other option was to make the <plat-omap/dma-omap.h> path
to work, but we'd have to add some new header directory to for
multiplatform builds.
Or we would have to manually include arch/arm/plat-omap/include
again from arch/arm/Makefile for omap2+.
Neither of these alternatives sound appealing as they will
likely lead addition of various other headers exposed to the
drivers, which we want to avoid for the multiplatform kernels.
Since we already have a minimal include/linux/omap-dma.h,
let's just use that instead and add a note to it to not
use the custom omap DMA functions any longer where possible.
Note that converting omap DMA to dmaengine depends on
dmaengine supporting automatically incrementing the FIFO
address at the device end, and converting all the remaining
legacy drivers. So it's going to be few more merge windows.

After commit "TTY: move tty buffers to tty_port", the tty buffers are
not freed in some drivers. This is because tty_port_destructor is not
called whenever a tty_port is freed. This was an assumption I counted
with but was unfortunately untrue. So fix the drivers to fulfil this
assumption.
To be sure, the TTY buffers (and later some stuff) are gone along with
the tty_port, we have to call tty_port_destroy at tear-down places.
This is mostly where the structure containing a tty_port is freed.
This patch does exactly that -- put tty_port_destroy at those places.

This commit removes the /sys/devices/platform/<UDC>/udc/<UDC>/is_dualspeed
file and is_dualspeeed line from /sys/devices/platform/ci13xxx_*/udc/device
file.
The is_dualspeed file is superseded by maximum_speed in the same directory
and is_dualspeed line in device file is superseded by max_speed line in
the same file.
The maximum_speed/max_speed specifies maximum speed supported by UDC.
To check if dualspeeed is supported, check if the value is >= 3.

storage_common.c has been used by both file_storage.c and f_mass_storage.c
which had some different requirements in a few places. To accomodate for
that, storage_common.c provided configuratian macros which were to be
defined (or not) prior to the file #inclusion. Because now
file_storage.c is no longer with us, we can remove support for those
macros and thus simplify the code slightly.

The one thing that makes two UDCs+HCDs impossible is the global
the_controller variable. This patch changes this. After device
allocation we allocate the "the_controller" variable and pass it as
platform_data to the UDC and its companion.
We can have now multiple instances dummy hcd and therefore I change the
limit from one to two. I was able to test this with g_ncm adn g_zero:

Instead of calling usb_string_id() multiple times I replace it with one
usb_string_ids_tab(). The NULL pointer in struct usb_string with "" and
are not overwritten in fail or unbind case.

ID because the same descriptor (and string ID) is used if we have more

HS and SS descriptors are staticaly created. They are updated during the
bind process with the endpoint address, string id or interface numbers.
After that, the descriptor chain is linked to struct usb_function which
is used by composite in order to serve the GET_DESCRIPTOR requests,
number of available configs and so on.
There is no need to assign the HS descriptor only if the UDC supports
HS speed because composite won't report those to the host if HS support
has not been reached. The same reasoning is valid for SS.
This patch makes sure each function updates HS/SS descriptors
unconditionally and uses the newly introduced helper function to create a
copy the descriptors for the speed which is supported by the UDC.
While at that, also rename f->descriptors to f->fs_descriptors in order
to make it more explicit what that means.

The "video->minor = -1" assigment is done in V4L2 by
video_register_device() so it is removed here.
Now. uvc_function_bind() calls in error case uvc_function_unbind() for
cleanup. The problem is that uvc_function_unbind() frees the uvc struct
and uvc_bind_config() does as well in error case of usb_add_function().
Removing kfree() in usb_add_function() would make the patch smaller but
it would look odd because the new allocated memory is not cleaned up.
However it is not guaranteed that if we call usb_add_function() we also
get to the bind function.
Therefore the patch extracts the conditional cleanup from
uvc_function_unbind() applies to uvc_function_bind().
uvc_function_unbind() now contains only the complete cleanup which is
required once everything has been registrated.

MUSB fixed a bug which would cause a Kernel Oops at least on AM3517 when
removing a device. For some reason that particular device can fall into a
situation where you have both Disconnect and Endpoint IRQs happen
simultaneously (have both bits set in IRQ_STATUS register) and, because
Disconnect Interrupt is handled before Endpoint Interrupts, we would try to
transfer data over a disconnected device, thus generating a kernel oops.
Renensas' USB DRD driver got two fixes which are a) fixing an off-by-one bug on
the pipe iterator implementation and b) fixing Interrupt Status Clear procedure
in order to properly clear a single Interrupt event without clearing (and
masking) other events we didn't handle yet.

The STOTG04 is an replacement for ISP1301.
Most of the registers on STOTG04 are the same as on ISP1301, but the
register ISP1301_I2C_OTG_CONTROL_2 (address 0x10) doesn't exist on the

This is a work around for this by using the interrupt source register that

Pull vfs update from Al Viro:
- big one - consolidation of descriptor-related logics; almost all of
that is moved to fs/file.c
(BTW, I'm seriously tempted to rename the result to fd.c. As it is,
we have a situation when file_table.c is about handling of struct
file and file.c is about handling of descriptor tables; the reasons
are historical - file_table.c used to be about a static array of
struct file we used to have way back).
A lot of stray ends got cleaned up and converted to saner primitives,
disgusting mess in android/binder.c is still disgusting, but at least
doesn't poke so much in descriptor table guts anymore. A bunch of
relatively minor races got fixed in process, plus an ext4 struct file
leak.
- related thing - fget_light() partially unuglified; see fdget() in
there (and yes, it generates the code as good as we used to have).
- also related - bits of Cyrill's procfs stuff that got entangled into
that work; _not_ all of it, just the initial move to fs/proc/fd.c and
switch of fdinfo to seq_file.
- Alex's fs/coredump.c spiltoff - the same story, had been easier to
take that commit than mess with conflicts. The rest is a separate
pile, this was just a mechanical code movement.
- a few misc patches all over the place. Not all for this cycle,
there'll be more (and quite a few currently sit in akpm's tree)."
Fix up trivial conflicts in the android binder driver, and some fairly
simple conflicts due to two different changes to the sock_alloc_file()
interface ("take descriptor handling from sock_alloc_file() to callers"
vs "net: Providing protocol type via system.sockprotoname xattr of
/proc/PID/fd entries" adding a dentry name to the socket)

We need to take the terminator into consideration here or the last
character gets silently truncated away later.

We set bAlternateSetting to zero twice. I kept the second one
(.bAlternateSetting = USB_G_ALT_INT_BBB) because that's more
descriptive.

Pull user namespace changes from Eric Biederman:
"This is a mostly modest set of changes to enable basic user namespace
support. This allows the code to code to compile with user namespaces
enabled and removes the assumption there is only the initial user
namespace. Everything is converted except for the most complex of the
filesystems: autofs4, 9p, afs, ceph, cifs, coda, fuse, gfs2, ncpfs,
nfs, ocfs2 and xfs as those patches need a bit more review.
The strategy is to push kuid_t and kgid_t values are far down into
subsystems and filesystems as reasonable. Leaving the make_kuid and
from_kuid operations to happen at the edge of userspace, as the values
come off the disk, and as the values come in from the network.
Letting compile type incompatible compile errors (present when user
namespaces are enabled) guide me to find the issues.
The most tricky areas have been the places where we had an implicit
union of uid and gid values and were storing them in an unsigned int.
Those places were converted into explicit unions. I made certain to
handle those places with simple trivial patches.
Out of that work I discovered we have generic interfaces for storing
quota by projid. I had never heard of the project identifiers before.
Adding full user namespace support for project identifiers accounts
for most of the code size growth in my git tree.
Ultimately there will be work to relax privlige checks from
"capable(FOO)" to "ns_capable(user_ns, FOO)" where it is safe allowing
root in a user names to do those things that today we only forbid to
non-root users because it will confuse suid root applications.
While I was pushing kuid_t and kgid_t changes deep into the audit code
I made a few other cleanups. I capitalized on the fact we process
netlink messages in the context of the message sender. I removed
usage of NETLINK_CRED, and started directly using current->tty.
Some of these patches have also made it into maintainer trees, with no
problems from identical code from different trees showing up in
linux-next.
After reading through all of this code I feel like I might be able to
win a game of kernel trivial pursuit."
Fix up some fairly trivial conflicts in netfilter uid/git logging code.
