Lee Jones db72da9210 dmaengine: ste_dma40: Calculate number of logical channels from physical ones
This change will cost ~25KB of memory, but it's worth the trade-off,
as it removes a great deal of overhead. It means that instead of only
allocating memory for the logical channels in use, it does so for all
available ones, which is 32 per physical channel. However, this now
means we can remove some platform data and we don't have to worry
about adding vendor specific variables to Device Tree.

Lee Jones 4bd04e2ed4 ARM: ux500: Remove superfluous 'psize' attribute from Audio platform data
'psize' is used to calculate the maximum DMA burst size. However it
is only taken into consideration when editing the DMA channel's
configuration. The Audio DMA platform data is only used to allocate
a channel, not configure it. That will be done at a later date within
the MSP driver.

We're also removing comments which are no longer required, as
'data_width' is no longer set in any device's platform data period.

Lee Jones df7c9bbc24 ARM: ux500: Strip out duplicate USB DMA configuration
For the moment at least, the TX and RX channels for DB8500 USB are
identical, so this patch generalises them into a single structure
and passes it twice. Once as the TX and again for the RX configuration.
We're keeping the infrastructure the same i.e. passing the TX and RX
separately in case they start to differ on latter incarnations of the
platform.

Lee Jones 26955c07dc dmaengine: ste_dma40: Amalgamate DMA source and destination channel numbers
Devices which utilise DMA use the same device numbers for transmitting
and receiving. In this patch we encode the source and destination
information into one single attribute. We can subsequently exploit the
direction attribute to see which of the transfer directions are being
described. This also lessens the burden on platform data.

Lee Jones 29027a1e11 dmaengine: ste_dma40: Move default memcpy configs into the driver
There are only two default memcpy configurations used for the DMA40
driver; one for physical memcpy and one for logical memcpy. Instead
of invariably passing the same configurations though platform data,
we're moving them into the driver instead.

Lee Jones 3210c05327 ARM: ux500: Remove duplicated assignment of ab8500_platdata
Since: "05ec260 mfd: db8500-prcmu: update resource passing", the AB8500's
platform data 'ab8500_platdata' is passed directly as an attribute to
'db8500_prcmu_pdata', so there's no requirement to assign it a second

Linus Torvalds 6fa52ed33b ARM: arm-soc driver changes for 3.10
This is a rather large set of patches for device drivers that for one
reason or another the subsystem maintainer preferred to get merged
through the arm-soc tree. There are both new drivers as well as
existing drivers that are getting converted from platform-specific
code into standalone drivers using the appropriate subsystem
 specific interfaces.

In particular, we can now have pinctrl, clk, clksource and irqchip
drivers in one file per driver, without the need to call into
platform specific interface, or to get called from platform specific
code, as long as all information about the hardware is provided
 through a device tree.

Most of the drivers we touch this time are for clocksource. Since
now most of them are part of drivers/clocksource, I expect that we
won't have to touch these again from arm-soc and can let the
clocksource maintainers take care of these in the future.

Another larger part of this series is specific to the exynos platform,
which is seeing some significant effort in upstreaming and
modernization of its device drivers this time around, which
unfortunately is also the cause for the churn and a lot of the
 merge conflicts.

There is one new subsystem that gets merged as part of this series:
the reset controller interface, which is a very simple interface
for taking devices on the SoC out of reset or back into reset.
Patches to use this interface on i.MX follow later in this merge
window, and we are going to have other platforms (at least tegra
and sirf) get converted in 3.11. This will let us get rid of
platform specific callbacks in a number of platform independent
 device drivers.

Arnd Bergmann ccefeea91c ARM: ux500: always select ABX500_CORE
We are probably selecting more drivers than we should in ux500,
but cleaning up that logic for good can be left for another
time. Most of these could be converted into silent options in

needed elsewhere.

As a fixup for 3.10, let's at least select the dependencies for
the other drivers we already select, to make it consistent.

Linus Torvalds 4d26aa3054 ARM: arm-soc non-critical fixes for 3.10
Here is a collection of fixes (and some intermixed cleanups) that were
considered less important and thus not included in the later parts of
 the 3.9-rc cycle.

It's a bit all over the map, contents wise. A series of ux500 fixes
and cleanups, a bunch of various fixes for OMAP and tegra, and some for
Freescale i.MX and even Qualcomm MSM.

Note that there's also a patch on this branch to globally turn off
-Wmaybe-uninitialized when building with -Os. It's been posted several
times by Arnd and no dissent was raised, but nobody seemed interested
to pick it up. So here it is, as the topmost patch.

Daniel Lezcano 80b1c1999e ARM: ux500: cpuidle: replace for_each_online_cpu by for_each_possible_cpu
All the drivers are using, in their initialization function, the
for_each_possible_cpu macro.

Using for_each_online_cpu means the driver must handle the initialization
of the cpuidle device when a cpu is up which is not the case here.

Change the macro to for_each_possible_cpu as that fix the hotplug
initialization and make the initialization routine consistent with the
rest of the code in the different drivers.

Stephen Boyd 4c3ffffdbc ARM: Push selects for TWD/SCU into machine entries
The TWD and SCU configs are selected by default as long as
MSM_SCORPIONMP is false and/or MCT is false. Implementing the
logic this way certainly saves lines in the Kconfig but it
precludes those machines which select MSM_SCORPIONMP or MCT from
participating in the single zImage effort because when those
machines are combined with other SMP capable machines the TWD and
SCU are no longer selected by default.

Push the select out to the machine entries so that we can compile
these machines together and still select the appropriate configs.

Arnd Bergmann e5a1f68203 staging: ste_rmi4: kill platform_data hack
There is only one instance of the platform data for synaptics_i2c_rmi4
in the mainline kernel, so there is no point of pretending its
variable here. The only member that has a dependency on the platform
is actually the interrupt number, and there is a field in the
i2c_client structure that gets initialized from the board info,
so we can trivially move the board_into into the platform without
knowledge of the platform_data structure.

Linus Walleij 1e22a8c614 ARM: ux500: move PM-related PRCMU functions to machine
We are trying to decompose and decentralize the code in
the DB8500 PRCMU out into subdrivers. The code moved in
this patch concerns a group of functions used for
decoupling and recoupling the IRQs from the GIC. During
sleep and idle the Ux500 system will transfer all IRQ
handling to the PRCMU using these functions.

Basically we are left with the two alternatives of code
placement as:

- arch/arm/mach-ux500/pm.c - this because the code is
closely related to the GIC, and takes ownership of
some of the registers from the PRCMU related to this
  PM functionality.

- drivers/mfd/db8500-prcmu-pm.c - because the code is
affecting stuff in the PRCMU register range. But then
this code needs to remap and handle GIC registers.

This patch implementation is taking the first approach.

Currently the cpuidle driver is the only piece of code
using this set of functions, but it will later also be
used by the suspend/resume code which is currently under
review.

The header file is moved to:
<linux/platform_data/arm-ux500-pm.h>
The function prototypes need to be placed in a globally
visible header since the CPUidle code is planned to move
out to drivers/cpuidle.

Linus Walleij b047d98127 mfd: db8500-prcmu: get base address from resource
We cannot use a global variable stored in <mach/hardware.h> to
find the base address of the PRCMU. The real resource is already
there from the board, so use this to look up the base address
instead.

Currently the patch is kept minimal so as not to interfere with
other work being done on refactoring this driver, but at a later
point the defines using (prcmu_base + 0xnnn) need to be replaced
by pure offset defined for (0xnnn) and the base inlined with the
readl()/writel() and similar codepaths.

Linus Walleij 9a47a8dccf mfd: prcmu: pass a base and size with the early initcall
This patch will make an early remapping of the PRCMU, to be
used when setting up the clocks, that will call down into parts
of the PRCMU driver before it is probed.

Going forward this will be removed like this:

- The mailbox subsystem need to be merged.
  http://marc.info/?l=linux-kernel&m=136314559201983&w=2

- At this point the PRCMU clock code can be moved over to the
ux500 clock driver in drivers/clk/ux500/* and maintained
  there in a decentralized manner.

- This early initcall and PRCMU base parameters become part of
  the ux500_clk_init() call instead.

Lee Jones 265c3c0a64 ARM: ux500: Enable the clock controlling Ethernet on Snowball
This fixes a regression introduced by common clk enablement.

On some u8500 based boards, the FMSC clock which is usually used
for flash, is wired up to the SMSC911x Ethernet driver. However,
the SMSC911x doesn't have common clk support yet, rendering it
unusable. Prior to the introduction of common clk the FMSC clock
was default on; however, common clk disables all clocks by default
and insists drivers take responsibility to enable theirs.

This fix enables the FMSC clock on Snowball, subsequently turning
on the SMSC911x Ethernet chip. It will be removed when the driver
is compatible with common clk.

Russell King b269b1709d ARM: cleanup: soc_device_register() error checking
soc_device_register() never returns NULL, it only ever returns an
error pointer or a valid pointer. Use the right function (IS_ERR())
to check this.

soc_device_to_device() only ever returns &soc_dev->dev, and so can
never return an error or NULL if the pointer passed into it was
valid, so there's no point checking its return.

Linus Torvalds b274776c54 arm-soc: cleanups
A large number of cleanups, all over the platforms. This is dominated
largely by the Samsung platforms (s3c, s5p, exynos) and a few of the
others moving code out of arch/arm into more appropriate subsystems.
The clocksource and irqchip drivers are now abstracted to the point
where platforms that are already cleaned up do not need to even specify
the driver they use, it can all get configured from the device tree
as we do for normal device drivers. The clocksource changes basically
touch every single platform in the process.

We further clean up the use of platform specific header files here,
with the goal of turning more of the platforms over to being
"multiplatform" enabled, which implies that they cannot expose
their headers to architecture independent code any more.

It is expected that no functional changes are part of the cleanup.
The overall reduction in total code lines is mostly the result of
 removing broken and obsolete code.

Linus Walleij 05ec260ede mfd: db8500-prcmu: update resource passing
When trying to get rid of the cross-includes of <mach/id.h>
from different drivers, so we can localize ASIC/CPU detection
to the mach-ux500 folder, we run into the way the PRCMU
handles base addresses and firmware detection.

This patch updates the firmware version detection to pass
the required information as platform data instead of
relying on cpu_is_* macros.

Now the PRCMU base address, the secondary TCDM area, the
TCPM area and the IRQ are passed as resources instead of
being grabbed from <mach/*> files. Incidentally this also
removes part of the reliance on <mach/irqs.h>.

Further it updates the firmware version detection, since the
location of the firmware ID bytes in the designated memory
are is now passed from the platform data instead. There is
no reason not to include the nice split-off of a struct to
hold the firmware information and a separate function to
populate it.

The patch actually rids the need to use the external
db8500_prcmu_early_init call at all, but I'm keepin back
that removal as I don't want the patch to be too big.

Lee Jones c3f78f0763 ARM: ux500: use real AB8500 IRQ numbers instead of virtual ones
Any devices wishing to use the AB8500's GPIO IRQs were forced to
request virtual IRQs from the gpio-ab8500 driver. Now that
responsibility has been passed back to the AB8500 core driver,
devices can request real IRQ numbers instead. This patch removes
any traces of the old virtual IRQ conversion handlers, which will
force any drivers requesting IRQs to use real IRQS.

Lee Jones 710a03e934 ARM: ux500: remove irq_base property from platform_data
AB8500 GPIO no longer handles its GPIO IRQs. Instead, the AB8500
core driver has taken back the responsibility. Prior to this
happening, the AB8500 GPIO driver provided a set of virtual IRQs
which were used as a pass-through. These virtual IRQs had a base
of MOP500_AB8500_VIR_GPIO_IRQ_BASE, which was passed though pdata.
We don't need to do this anymore, so we're pulling out the
property from the structure.

Milo(Woogyom) Kim df4094d24e leds-lp5521/5523: use new lp55xx common header
The LP55xx common driver provides a new header, leds-lp55xx.h.
This driver enables removing duplicate code for both drivers and
 making coherent driver structure.
LP5521 and LP5523/55231 platform data were merged into one common file.
Therefore, the LP5521/5523 platform code need to be fixed.

This patch has been already acked.
