Greg Kroah-Hartman 71ee1284d6 iwlegacy: no need to check return value of debugfs_create functions
When calling debugfs functions, there is no need to ever check the
return value. The function can work or not, but the code logic should
never do something different based on this.

Colin Ian King 454127ad36 iwlegacy: remove several redundant variables
Variables id, unicast, write, conf, a_band, accum_tx and ucode are
assigned a value but it is never read, hence they are redundant and
can be removed.

Cleans up clang warnings:
warning: variable 'id' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable]
warning: variable 'unicast' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable]
warning: variable 'write' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable]
warning: variable 'conf' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable]
warning: variable 'a_band' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable]
warning: variable 'tx' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable]
warning: variable 'accum_tx' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable]

Joe Perches 2ef00c5304 wireless: Use octal not symbolic permissions
Prefer the direct use of octal for permissions.

Done with checkpatch -f --types=SYMBOLIC_PERMS --fix-inplace
and some typing.

Miscellanea:

o Whitespace neatening around these conversions.

Kees Cook 2b77839b37 iwlegacy: Convert timers to use timer_setup()
In preparation for unconditionally passing the struct timer_list pointer to
all timer callbacks, switch to using the new timer_setup() and from_timer()
to pass the timer pointer explicitly.

Arvind Yadav 64571ca71b wireless: iwlegacy: constify attribute_group structures.
attribute_group are not supposed to change at runtime. All functions
working with attribute_group provided by <linux/sysfs.h> work
with const attribute_group. So mark the non-const structs as const.

Andrew Zaborowski ae44b50266 wireless: Set NL80211_EXT_FEATURE_CQM_RSSI_LIST in multiple drivers
Set the NL80211_EXT_FEATURE_CQM_RSSI_LIST wiphy extended feature
wholesale in all mac80211-based drivers that do not set the
IEEE80211_VIF_BEACON_FILTER flags on their interfaces. mac80211 will
be processing supplied RSSI values in ieee80211_rx_mgmt_beacon and
will detect when the thresholds set by
ieee80211_set_cqm_rssi_range_config are crossed. Remaining (few)
drivers need code to enable the firmware to monitor the thresholds.
This is mostly only compile-tested.

Johannes Berg ae3cf47645 iwlegacy: make il3945_mac_ops __ro_after_init
There's no need for this to be only __read_mostly, since
it's only written in a single way depending on the module
parameter, so that can be moved into the module's __init
function, and the ops can be __ro_after_init.

This is a little bit safer since it means the ops can't
be overwritten (accidentally or otherwise), which would
otherwise cause an arbitrary function or bad pointer to
be called.

Johannes Berg 57fbcce37b cfg80211: remove enum ieee80211_band
This enum is already perfectly aliased to enum nl80211_band, and
the only reason for it is that we get IEEE80211_NUM_BANDS out of
it. There's no really good reason to not declare the number of
bands in nl80211 though, so do that and remove the cfg80211 one.
