Since PTP virtual clock support is added, there can be several PTP virtual clocks based on one PTP physical clock for timestamping. This patch is to extend SO_TIMESTAMPING API to support PHC (PTP Hardware Clock) binding by adding a new flag SOF_TIMESTAMPING_BIND_PHC. When PTP virtual clocks are in use, user space can configure to bind one for timestamping, but PTP physical clock is not supported and not needed to bind. This patch is preparation for timestamp conversion from raw timestamp to a specific PTP virtual clock time in core net. Signed-off-by: Yangbo Lu <yangbo.lu@nxp.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
