Anton Hansson 53c88448fd Separate device and product overlays
This change adds book-keeping of whether an overlay came from
DEVICE_PACKAGE_OVERLAYS or PRODUCT_PACKAGE_OVERLAYS. This is
later used when writing the output to soong_app_prebuilt.mk, to
use either LOCAL_SOONG_[DEVICE|PRODUCT]_RRO_PACKAGES depending
on the original source.

This change is intended to be a noop on its own, but allows a
follow-up make change to customize the location of the auto-generated
RRO packages.

Vic Yang efd249e62a Add support for no-vendor-variant VNDK
When no-vendor-variant VNDK is enabled, the vendor variant of VNDK
libraries are not installed. Since not all VNDK libraries will be
ready for this, we keep a list of library names in cc/vndk.go to
indicate which libraries must have their vendor variants always
installed regardless of whether no-vendor-variant VNDK is enabled.

Also add --remove-build-id option to the strip script to facilitate
the check of functional identity of the two variants.

Bug: 119423884
Test: Add a dummy VNDK library and build with
      TARGET_VNDK_USE_CORE_VARIANT := true, with the corresponding
      build/make change.

Jiyong Park 8fd6192480 APEX can be flattened
When TARGET_FLATTEN_APEX is set to true, APEXes are flattened, which
means files in an APEX is not packaged into the mini file system image,
but instead directly copied to the system partition.

This option is for devices where kernel does not support loopback
devices or the maximum number of loopback devices is too small (though
the threshold is TBD as of now).

This CL also fixes a bug that jars having bytecode are installed instead
of those having dex.

Colin Cross e20c1b1904 Fix aapt2 --min-sdk-version after finalized SDK
aapt2 --min-sdk-version was using AppsDefaultVersionName(), which
is OMR1 for a non-finalized SDK, but 8.1.0 after finalization.
Add PlatformSdkCodename() for non-finalized SDKs, use it for
DefaultAppTargetSdk(), and pass it for aapt2 --min-sdk-version.

Dan Willemsen 8328367c44 Add VendorConfig for board-level Soong plugin configuration
This allows Soong (Go) plugins to get custom configurations set in the
current product's BoardConfig.mk.

I'll have some more comprehensive documentation later, but the general
concept is that you'd have one namespace per plugin, defined in the
BoardConfig.mk (though they would work in the product.mk files too):

  SOONG_CONFIG_NAMESPACES += myPlugin

Within that namespace you can set key-value pairs:

  SOONG_CONFIG_myPlugin := key1 key2 ...
  ...
  SOONG_CONFIG_myPlugin_key1 := value
  ...
  SOONG_CONFIG_myPlugin_key2 := true

Then in your plugin, you can ask for your namespace:

  vars := ctx.Config().VendorConfig("myPlugin")

And then use them:

  str := vars.String("key1")
  if vars.Bool("key2") { ... }
  if vars.IsSet("key3") { ... }

Warning: It's not a good idea to fail on missing inputs, since an
android tree may contain plugins from multiple owners, and we may
configure your modules (but not build/install them) even if they're not
meant for the currently configured product.

* USE_CLANG_LLD is unedefined in current builds.
* When USE_CLANG_LLD is defined to 'true' or '1',
  use clang's lld instead of ld or ld.gold.
* When lld is enabled:
  * ld-only flags are not passed to 'lld'.
  * location_packer is disabled.
  * Use new lld's --pack-dyn-relocs=android.
* When lld does not work:
  * In Android.mk files use LOCAL_USE_CLANG_LLD := false.
  * In Android.bp files use use_clang_lld: false.
* Only arm, arm64, x86, and x86_64_devices have LLD flags;
  all other hosts and targets do not call lld yet.

Support Droiddoc to Soong based on core/droiddoc.mk. The non-std doclet
based droiddoc compilation output is a "real" stubs.jar instead of a
directory of java files and a timestamp file.

The std doclet based javadoc compilation output is a "empty" stubs.jar
instead of a timestamp file.

The stubs.jar will be exported to
out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/$(LOCAL_MODULE)_intermediates/classes.jar
and out/target/common/docs/$(LOCAL_MODULE)-stubs.jar

A $(LOCAL_MODULE).zip file will be generated also, and is exported to
out/target/common/docs/$(LOCAL_MODULE)-docs.zip if property: installable is not set
to false.

Jiyong Park 1a5d7b1539 Add PLATFORM_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS and BOARD_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS
PLATFORM_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS is the list of System SDK versions that the
platform is supporting. Contrary to the public SDK where platform
essentially supports all previous SDK versions, platform support only a
few recent System SDK versions, since some of old System APIs are
gradually deprecated, removed from the following SDKs and then finally
deleted from the platform. This will be part of the framework manifest.

The list can be specified by setting PLATFORM_SYSTEMSDK_MIN_VERSION. If
it is set to an old version number, then System SDKs from the version
to the current version (PLATFORM_SDK_VERSION) are considered to be
supported by the platform. If PLATFORM_SYSTEMSDK_MIN_VERSION is not set,
only the latest System SDK version is supported.

Next, BOARD_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS is the list of System SDK versions that
the device is using. This is put to the device compatibility matrix
device is using. The device and the platform is considered as compatible
only BOARD_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS in the device compatibility matrix are
in the PLATFORM_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS in the framework manifest.

When BOARD_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS is set, a Java app or library in vendor or
odm partitions which didn't specify LOCAL_SDK_VERSION is forced to use
System SDK. Also, the build system does the additional integrity check
to ensure that LOCAL_SDK_VERSION is within BOARD_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS or
PLATFORM_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS (if BOARD_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS isn't set).

Jiyong Park 2db7692a74 Add [soc|device|product]_specific
Added three properties (soc_specific, device_specific, and
product_specific) that shows what a module is specific to.

`soc_specific: true` means that the module is specific to an SoC
(System-On-a-Chip) and thus need to be installed to vendor partition.
This has the same meaning as the old `vendor: true` setting.

`device_specific: true` means that the module is specific to the entire
hardware configuration of a device includeing the SoC and off-chip
peripherals. These modules are installed to odm partition (or /vendor/odm
when odm partition does not exist).

`product_specific: true` means that the module is specific to the
software configuration of a product such as country, network operator,
etc. These modules are installed to oem partition (or /system/oem when
oem partition does not exist). These modules are assumed to be agnostic
to hardware, so this property can't be true when either soc_specific or
device_specific is set to true.

When BOARD_VNDK_VERSION := <VNDK version>, or
PRODUCT_EXTRA_VNDK_VERSIONS includes the needed <VNDK version> list,
the prebuilt VNDK libs in prebuilts/vndk/ directory will be

VNDK/VNDK-SP libs.

Following is the sample configuration of a vndk snapshot module:

Colin Cross aabf67968c Make *Context.Config return a Config instead of a interface{}
In Soong, a Config() method will always return a Config. Make
ModuleContext, SingletonContext, TopDownMutatorContext and
BottomUpMutatorContext's Config() methods explictly return
a Config to avoid having to type-assert everywhere. Overriding
the Config method requires duplicating the list of methods in
blueprint.BaseModuleContext and blueprint.BottomUpMutatorContext,
following the same pattern used by the other *Contexts.

Config() obsoletes the AConfig() method used in some places, which
will be cleaned up in the next patch.

Jiyong Park d773eb3e86 add device_kernel_headers module for vendor-specific kernel headers
device_kernel_headers is a built-in heder-only lib that provides device-specific
kernel headers. The header path is configured via a new product variable
SystemIncludeDirs, which is currently the mirror of
TARGET_PROJECT_SYSTEM_INCLUDES in the make world.

Note: generic kernel headers (bionic/libc/kernel) have been added to the
include path by default. "device_kernel_headers" module is for device-specific
kernel headers such as /device/*/*/kernel-headers.

Note 2: this is opt-in for Android.bp modules (i.e. header_libs :
["device_kernel_headers"] required.) while it is always provided to
Android.mk modules.

Ivan Lozano 0c3a1efae4 Add integer_overflow sanitization build option.
Adds the SANITIZE_TARGET=integer_overflow build option to apply signed and
unsigned integer overflow sanitization globally. This implements the
Soong side of the build option.

An additional build option is provided to control whether or not to run
in diagnostics mode, controlled by SANITIZE_TARGET_DIAG. This works the
same way that SANITIZE_TARGET does and currently only supports
'integer_overflow' as an option.

A default sanitizer blacklist is added to avoid applying sanitization
to functions that are likely to exhibit benign overflows.

Jiyong Park 4c48f724e1 install *.so in different paths for their types
Shared libraries are now installed to different directories depending on
their types.

* NDK libraries: /system/lib/ndk
* VNDK libraries: /system/lib/vndk
* VNDK-ext libraries: /system/lib/vndk-ext
* Framework-only libraries: /system/lib
* Vendor-only libraries: /vendor/lib
* Same-process HALs: /vendor/lib/sameprocess

In addition, a new module type vndk_ext_library is added. It is almost
identical to cc_shared_library but it introduces another attribute
'extends'. This is use to reference the vndk library that this vndk-ext
library is extending.

For example, in order to extend a vndk library libFoo:

cc_library {
  name: "libFoo",
  srcs: [...]
}
---------------------
vndk_ext_library {
  name: "libFoo-extended",
  srcs: [...]
  extends: "libFoo"
}

Then, libFoo will be installed as /system/lib/vndk/libFoo.so and
libFoo-extended will be installed as /system/lib/vndk-ext/libFoo.so.
Note that file name of the latter is libFoo.so, not libFoo-extended.so:
file name of an extending module is automatically set to that of the
extended module.

Bug: 33681361

Dan Willemsen 581341d4f2 Native Coverage support in Soong (gcov)
This is configured the same as make -- a global NATIVE_COVERAGE=true
flag to allow native coverage, then COVERAGE_PATHS=path1,path2,... to
turn it on for certain paths.

There are .gcnodir files exported to Make and saved in $OUT/coverage/...
files which are `ar` archives containing all of the compiler-produced
.gcno files for a particular executable / shared library.

Unlike the Make implementation, this only passes links the helper
library (automatically through --coverage) when one of the object files
or static libraries being used actually has coverage enabled.

Host support is currently disabled, since we set -nodefaultlibs, which
prevents libclang_rt.profile-*.a from being picked up automatically.

Dan Willemsen d2ede879b5 Add basic VNDK support in Soong
Export a list of libraries in the VNDK, which is currently empty.

Take in Make's global BOARD_VNDK_VERSION, and use that as the SDK
version for modules that specify use_vndk: true.

Modules that use the vndk have some configuration as if they were
building against the NDK (the absence of globally defined headers), but
in other cases look like platform modules (using the platform libc++,
for now).

This change does not attempt to enforce any linking constraints, that
will come in a later patch.

Test: out/soong/build.ninja doesn't change

Dan Willemsen a03cf6d322 Add clang-tidy support
For every file which we can run clang-tidy (C/C++ clang-built), we add a
new build node that depends on the object file (since clang-tidy does
not export a depfile), and is depended on by the link step. This is
better than how we're doing it in make, since calling tidy can be turned
on or off without needing to rebuild the object files.

This does not attempt to port WITH_TIDY_ONLY from Make, since the way
that it works is broken (due to the lack of a depfile).

Bug: 32244182
Test: WITH_TIDY=true mmma -j bionic/libc

Dan Willemsen fcebcd5c37 Add `debuggable` product variable with cflags
Allows changing cflags based on the build variant being `eng` or
`userdebug`. This is used by some modules to turn on asserts for these
builds, and used by adb to allow root on non-user builds.

Test: Use this flag in an Android.bp, check the ninja file.
