David Brazdil 91b4e3e78b Disable all-assigned check in hiddenapi on master-art
Master-art configurations do not have frameworks/base and therefore do
not have hidden API flags. Pass --no-force-assign-all to `hiddenapi`
when frameworks/base does not exist to disable the corresponding
assertion. This enables us to enforce the assertion on non-master-art
builds and also get rid of logspam about missing flags on ART buildbots.

David Brazdil 0f670a22df Replace hiddenapi-{public,private}-list.txt with a CSV file

Ivan Lozano b84fc9dc32 Enable execute-only memory layouts by default.
This enables execute-only memory (XOM) layouts to be used by default in
the build system. As of now, there's only support for ARM64 devices, so
this only affects those. Since userland XOM requires kernel support,
devices without the necessary support will continue to allow pages
marked execute-only to be read and they should be unaffected by this.

Jiyong Park 9335a26cbd APEXes can be signed with devkeys
When PRODUCT_DEFAULT_DEV_CERTIFICATE is set to /vendor/foo/devkeys/test,
then the public/private key pairs for an apex_key is searched at
/vendor/foo/devkeys directory.

To be specific,

/system/timezone/Android.bp:
apex_key {
    name: "timezone.key",
    public_key: "com.android.tzdata.avbpubkey",
    private_key: "com.android.tzdata.pem",
}

When PRODUCT_DEFAULT_DEV_CERTIFICATE isn't set, the keys are searched at
/system/timezone, which is the path where Android.bp is located.

With PRODUCT_DEFAULT_DEV_CERTIFICATE set to /vendor/foo/devkeys/test,
the keys are searched at /vendor/foo/devkeys.

Jiyong Park 8fd6192480 APEX can be flattened
When TARGET_FLATTEN_APEX is set to true, APEXes are flattened, which
means files in an APEX is not packaged into the mini file system image,
but instead directly copied to the system partition.

This option is for devices where kernel does not support loopback
devices or the maximum number of loopback devices is too small (though
the threshold is TBD as of now).

Jiyong Park 8d52f86baf Fix: recovery module is disabled on 32-bit targets
Fixed a bug that recovery variant of a module is not created on 32-bit
targets. The bug was happening because the creation of the recovery
variant relied on DevicePrefer32BitExecutables() which returns false
for 32-bit only targets.

Now, recovery variant is checked against the primary architecture of the
device that is returned by DevicePrimaryArchType().

Dan Willemsen 0fe7866897 Add VendorConfig for board-level Soong plugin configuration
This allows Soong (Go) plugins to get custom configurations set in the
current product's BoardConfig.mk.

I'll have some more comprehensive documentation later, but the general
concept is that you'd have one namespace per plugin, defined in the
BoardConfig.mk (though they would work in the product.mk files too):

  SOONG_CONFIG_NAMESPACES += myPlugin

Within that namespace you can set key-value pairs:

  SOONG_CONFIG_myPlugin := key1 key2 ...
  ...
  SOONG_CONFIG_myPlugin_key1 := value
  ...
  SOONG_CONFIG_myPlugin_key2 := true

Then in your plugin, you can ask for your namespace:

  vars := ctx.Config().VendorConfig("myPlugin")

And then use them:

  str := vars.String("key1")
  if vars.Bool("key2") { ... }
  if vars.IsSet("key3") { ... }

Warning: It's not a good idea to fail on missing inputs, since an
android tree may contain plugins from multiple owners, and we may
configure your modules (but not build/install them) even if they're not
meant for the currently configured product.

Jiyong Park 1a5d7b1539 Add PLATFORM_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS and BOARD_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS
PLATFORM_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS is the list of System SDK versions that the
platform is supporting. Contrary to the public SDK where platform
essentially supports all previous SDK versions, platform support only a
few recent System SDK versions, since some of old System APIs are
gradually deprecated, removed from the following SDKs and then finally
deleted from the platform. This will be part of the framework manifest.

The list can be specified by setting PLATFORM_SYSTEMSDK_MIN_VERSION. If
it is set to an old version number, then System SDKs from the version
to the current version (PLATFORM_SDK_VERSION) are considered to be
supported by the platform. If PLATFORM_SYSTEMSDK_MIN_VERSION is not set,
only the latest System SDK version is supported.

Next, BOARD_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS is the list of System SDK versions that
the device is using. This is put to the device compatibility matrix
device is using. The device and the platform is considered as compatible
only BOARD_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS in the device compatibility matrix are
in the PLATFORM_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS in the framework manifest.

When BOARD_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS is set, a Java app or library in vendor or
odm partitions which didn't specify LOCAL_SDK_VERSION is forced to use
System SDK. Also, the build system does the additional integrity check
to ensure that LOCAL_SDK_VERSION is within BOARD_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS or
PLATFORM_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS (if BOARD_SYSTEMSDK_VERSIONS isn't set).

Jiyong Park 2db7692a74 Add [soc|device|product]_specific
Added three properties (soc_specific, device_specific, and
product_specific) that shows what a module is specific to.

`soc_specific: true` means that the module is specific to an SoC
(System-On-a-Chip) and thus need to be installed to vendor partition.
This has the same meaning as the old `vendor: true` setting.

`device_specific: true` means that the module is specific to the entire
hardware configuration of a device includeing the SoC and off-chip
peripherals. These modules are installed to odm partition (or /vendor/odm
when odm partition does not exist).

`product_specific: true` means that the module is specific to the
software configuration of a product such as country, network operator,
etc. These modules are installed to oem partition (or /system/oem when
oem partition does not exist). These modules are assumed to be agnostic
to hardware, so this property can't be true when either soc_specific or
device_specific is set to true.

Jiyong Park 6a43f04777 Squash vendor sources before linkageMutator runs
linkageMutator removes srcs property of the shared variant of a lib in
order to reuse *.o files compiled for the static variant also to the
shared variant.

However, this causes problem when vendor-specific srcs are specified in
target: {vendor: {srcs: ["..."]}}. For example, let's assume

cc_library {
    name: "libfoo",
    srcs: ["foo.c"],
    target: {
        vendor: {
            srcs: ["bar.c"],
        },
    },
}

Then,
static_vendor: inputs = foo.o, bar.o
shared_vendor: inputs = foo.o (from static_vendor), bar.o (from
static_vendor), bar.o

So, bar.o is included twice and this causes multiple symbol definition
error.

In order to handle the problem, vendor mutator is applied before the
linkage mutator and the vendor-specific srcs are squashed in the vendor
mutator.

Jiyong Park 4c48f724e1 install *.so in different paths for their types
Shared libraries are now installed to different directories depending on
their types.

* NDK libraries: /system/lib/ndk
* VNDK libraries: /system/lib/vndk
* VNDK-ext libraries: /system/lib/vndk-ext
* Framework-only libraries: /system/lib
* Vendor-only libraries: /vendor/lib
* Same-process HALs: /vendor/lib/sameprocess

In addition, a new module type vndk_ext_library is added. It is almost
identical to cc_shared_library but it introduces another attribute
'extends'. This is use to reference the vndk library that this vndk-ext
library is extending.

For example, in order to extend a vndk library libFoo:

cc_library {
  name: "libFoo",
  srcs: [...]
}
---------------------
vndk_ext_library {
  name: "libFoo-extended",
  srcs: [...]
  extends: "libFoo"
}

Then, libFoo will be installed as /system/lib/vndk/libFoo.so and
libFoo-extended will be installed as /system/lib/vndk-ext/libFoo.so.
Note that file name of the latter is libFoo.so, not libFoo-extended.so:
file name of an extending module is automatically set to that of the
extended module.

This is configured the same as make -- a global NATIVE_COVERAGE=true
flag to allow native coverage, then COVERAGE_PATHS=path1,path2,... to
turn it on for certain paths.

There are .gcnodir files exported to Make and saved in $OUT/coverage/...
files which are `ar` archives containing all of the compiler-produced
.gcno files for a particular executable / shared library.

Unlike the Make implementation, this only passes links the helper
library (automatically through --coverage) when one of the object files
or static libraries being used actually has coverage enabled.

Host support is currently disabled, since we set -nodefaultlibs, which
prevents libclang_rt.profile-*.a from being picked up automatically.

Dan Willemsen d2ede879b5 Add basic VNDK support in Soong
Export a list of libraries in the VNDK, which is currently empty.

Take in Make's global BOARD_VNDK_VERSION, and use that as the SDK
version for modules that specify use_vndk: true.

Modules that use the vndk have some configuration as if they were
building against the NDK (the absence of globally defined headers), but
in other cases look like platform modules (using the platform libc++,
for now).

This change does not attempt to enforce any linking constraints, that
will come in a later patch.

Colin Cross d8f2014d3b Fix race condition writing soong.config
soong_build is run twice simultaneously now, once for manifest
generation and once for docs generation. If one starts writing the

Dan Willemsen a03cf6d322 Add clang-tidy support
For every file which we can run clang-tidy (C/C++ clang-built), we add a
new build node that depends on the object file (since clang-tidy does
not export a depfile), and is depended on by the link step. This is
better than how we're doing it in make, since calling tidy can be turned
on or off without needing to rebuild the object files.

This does not attempt to port WITH_TIDY_ONLY from Make, since the way
that it works is broken (due to the lack of a depfile).
