The rseq rseq_cs.ptr.{ptr32,padding} uapi endianness handling is
entirely wrong on 32-bit little endian: a preprocessor logic mistake
wrongly uses the big endian field layout on 32-bit little endian
architectures.
Fortunately, those ptr32 accessors were never used within the kernel,
and only meant as a convenience for user-space.
Remove those and replace the whole rseq_cs union by a __u64 type, as
this is the only thing really needed to express the ABI. Document how
32-bit architectures are meant to interact with this field.

commit 54f586a9153201c6cff55e1f561990c78bd99aa7 upstream.
Again new complaints surfaced that we had broken the ABI here,
although previously all the userspace tools had agreed that it
was their mistake and fixed it. Yet now there are cases (e.g.
RHEL) that want to run old userspace with newer kernels, and
thus are broken.
Since this is a bit of a whack-a-mole thing, change the whole
extensibility scheme of rfkill to no longer just rely on the
message lengths, but instead require userspace to opt in via a
new ioctl to a given maximum event size that it is willing to
understand.
By default, set that to RFKILL_EVENT_SIZE_V1 (8), so that the
behaviour for userspace not calling the ioctl will look as if
it's just running on an older kernel.

struct xfrm_user_offload has flags variable that received user input,
but kernel didn't check if valid bits were provided. It caused a situation
where not sanitized input was forwarded directly to the drivers.
For example, XFRM_OFFLOAD_IPV6 define that was exposed, was used by
strongswan, but not implemented in the kernel at all.
As a solution, check and sanitize input flags to forward
XFRM_OFFLOAD_INBOUND to the drivers.

When userspace, e.g. conntrackd, inserts an entry with a specified helper,
its possible that the helper is lost immediately after its added:
ctnetlink_create_conntrack

-> ctnetlink_setup_nat
-> ctnetlink_parse_nat_setup
-> parse_nat_setup -> nfnetlink_parse_nat_setup
-> nf_nat_setup_info

-> __nf_ct_try_assign_helper
... and __nf_ct_try_assign_helper will zero the helper again.
Set IPS_HELPER bit to bypass auto-assign logic, its unwanted, just like
when helper is assigned via ruleset.
Dropped old 'not strictly necessary' comment, it referred to use of
rcu_assign_pointer() before it got replaced by RCU_INIT_POINTER().
NB: Fixes tag intentionally incorrect, this extends the referenced commit,

Kernel generates mapping change message, XFRM_MSG_MAPPING,
when a source port chage is detected on a input state with UDP
encapsulation set. Kernel generates a message for each IPsec packet
with new source port. For a high speed flow per packet mapping change
message can be excessive, and can overload the user space listener.
Introduce rate limiting for XFRM_MSG_MAPPING message to the user space.
The rate limiting is configurable via netlink, when adding a new SA or

commit 50252e4b5e989ce64555c7aef7516bdefc2fea72 upstream.
signalfd_poll() and binder_poll() are special in that they use a
waitqueue whose lifetime is the current task, rather than the struct
file as is normally the case. This is okay for blocking polls, since a
blocking poll occurs within one task; however, non-blocking polls
require another solution. This solution is for the queue to be cleared
before it is freed, by sending a POLLFREE notification to all waiters.
Unfortunately, only eventpoll handles POLLFREE. A second type of
non-blocking poll, aio poll, was added in kernel v4.18, and it doesn't
handle POLLFREE. This allows a use-after-free to occur if a signalfd or
binder fd is polled with aio poll, and the waitqueue gets freed.
Fix this by making aio poll handle POLLFREE.
A patch by Ramji Jiyani <ramjiyani@google.com>
(https://lore.kernel.org/r/20211027011834.2497484-1-ramjiyani@google.com)
tried to do this by making aio_poll_wake() always complete the request
inline if POLLFREE is seen. However, that solution had two bugs.
First, it introduced a deadlock, as it unconditionally locked the aio
context while holding the waitqueue lock, which inverts the normal
locking order. Second, it didn't consider that POLLFREE notifications
are missed while the request has been temporarily de-queued.
The second problem was solved by my previous patch. This patch then
properly fixes the use-after-free by handling POLLFREE in a
deadlock-free way. It does this by taking advantage of the fact that
freeing of the waitqueue is RCU-delayed, similar to what eventpoll does.

commit 00b06da29cf9dc633cdba87acd3f57f4df3fd5c7 upstream.
As Andy pointed out that there are races between
force_sig_info_to_task and sigaction[1] when force_sig_info_task. As
Kees discovered[2] ptrace is also able to change these signals.
In the case of seeccomp killing a process with a signal it is a
security violation to allow the signal to be caught or manipulated.
Solve this problem by introducing a new flag SA_IMMUTABLE that
prevents sigaction and ptrace from modifying these forced signals.
This flag is carefully made kernel internal so that no new ABI is
introduced.
Longer term I think this can be solved by guaranteeing short circuit
delivery of signals in this case. Unfortunately reliable and
guaranteed short circuit delivery of these signals is still a ways off
from being implemented, tested, and merged. So I have implemented a much
simpler alternative for now.

In wait for CS IOCTL code, the driver resets the incoming args structure
before returning to the user, regardless of the return value of the
IOCTL.
In case the IOCTL returns EINTR, resetting the args will result in error
in case the userspace will repeat the ioctl call immediately (which is
the behavior in the hl-thunk userspace library).
The solution is to reset the args only if the driver returns success (0)
as a return value for the IOCTL.

Commit 2d151d3907 ("xfrm: Add possibility to set the default to block
if we have no policy") broke ABI by changing the value of the XFRM_MSG_MAPPING
enum item, thus also evading the build-time check
in security/selinux/nlmsgtab.c:selinux_nlmsg_lookup for presence of proper
security permission checks in nlmsg_xfrm_perms. Fix it by placing
XFRM_MSG_SETDEFAULT/XFRM_MSG_GETDEFAULT to the end of the enum, right before
__XFRM_MSG_MAX, and updating the nlmsg_xfrm_perms accordingly.

Currently cgroup freezer is used to freeze the application threads, and
BINDER_FREEZE is used to freeze the corresponding binder interface.
There's already a mechanism in ioctl(BINDER_FREEZE) to wait for any
existing transactions to drain out before actually freezing the binder
interface.
But freezing an app requires 2 steps, freezing the binder interface with
ioctl(BINDER_FREEZE) and then freezing the application main threads with
cgroupfs. This is not an atomic operation. The following race issue
might happen.
1) Binder interface is frozen by ioctl(BINDER_FREEZE);
2) Main thread A initiates a new sync binder transaction to process B;
3) Main thread A is frozen by "echo 1 > cgroup.freeze";
4) The response from process B reaches the frozen thread, which will
unexpectedly fail.
This patch provides a mechanism to check if there's any new pending
transaction happening between ioctl(BINDER_FREEZE) and freezing the
main thread. If there's any, the main thread freezing operation can
be rolled back to finish the pending transaction.
Furthermore, the response might reach the binder driver before the
rollback actually happens. That will still cause failed transaction.
As the other process doesn't wait for another response of the response,
the response transaction failure can be fixed by treating the response
transaction like an oneway/async one, allowing it to reach the frozen
thread. And it will be consumed when the thread gets unfrozen later.
NOTE: This patch reuses the existing definition of struct
binder_frozen_status_info but expands the bit assignments of __u32
member sync_recv.
To ensure backward compatibility, bit 0 of sync_recv still indicates
there's an outstanding sync binder transaction. This patch adds new
information to bit 1 of sync_recv, indicating the binder transaction
happens exactly when there's a race.
If an existing userspace app runs on a new kernel, a sync binder call
will set bit 0 of sync_recv so ioctl(BINDER_GET_FROZEN_INFO) still
return the expected value (true). The app just doesn't check bit 1
intentionally so it doesn't have the ability to tell if there's a race.
This behavior is aligned with what happens on an old kernel which
doesn't set bit 1 at all.
A new userspace app can 1) check bit 0 to know if there's a sync binder
transaction happened when being frozen - same as before; and 2) check
bit 1 to know if that sync binder transaction happened exactly when
there's a race - a new information for rollback decision.
the same time, confirmed the pending transactions succeeded.

In here is only updates for the Habanalabs driver. This request is late
because the previously-objected-to dma-buf patches are all removed and
some fixes that you and others found are now included in here as well.
All of these have been in linux-next for well over a week with no

This VDUSE driver enables implementing software-emulated vDPA
devices in userspace. The vDPA device is created by
ioctl(VDUSE_CREATE_DEV) on /dev/vduse/control. Then a char device
interface (/dev/vduse/$NAME) is exported to userspace for device
emulation.
In order to make the device emulation more secure, the device's
control path is handled in kernel. A message mechnism is introduced
to forward some dataplane related control messages to userspace.
And in the data path, the DMA buffer will be mapped into userspace
address space through different ways depending on the vDPA bus to
which the vDPA device is attached. In virtio-vdpa case, the MMU-based
software IOTLB is used to achieve that. And in vhost-vdpa case, the
DMA buffer is reside in a userspace memory region which can be shared
to the VDUSE userspace processs via transferring the shmfd.
For more details on VDUSE design and usage, please see the follow-on
Documentation commit.
