Paul Walmsley 0d8e2d0dad OMAP2+: PM/serial: hold console semaphore while OMAP UARTs are disabled
The console semaphore must be held while the OMAP UART devices are
disabled, lest a console write cause an ARM abort (and a kernel crash)
when the underlying console device is inaccessible. These crashes
only occur when the console is on one of the OMAP internal serial
ports.

While this problem has been latent in the PM idle loop for some time,
the crash was not triggerable with an unmodified kernel until commit
6f251e9db1 ("OMAP: UART: omap_device
conversions, remove implicit 8520 assumptions"). After this patch, a
console write often occurs after the console UART has been disabled in
the idle loop, crashing the system. Several users have encountered
this bug:

    http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-omap@vger.kernel.org/msg38396.html

    http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-omap@vger.kernel.org/msg36602.html

The same commit also introduced new code that disabled the UARTs
during init, in omap_serial_init_port(). The kernel will also crash
in this code when earlyconsole and extra debugging is enabled:

    http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-omap@vger.kernel.org/msg36411.html

The minimal fix for the -rc series is to hold the console semaphore
while the OMAP UARTs are disabled. This is a somewhat overbroad fix,
since the console may not be located on an OMAP UART, as is the case
with the GPMC UART on Zoom3. While it is technically possible to
determine which devices the console or earlyconsole is actually
running on, it is not a trivial problem to solve, and the code to do
so is not really appropriate for the -rc series.

The right long-term fix is to ensure that no code outside of the OMAP
serial driver can disable an OMAP UART. As I understand it, code to
implement this is under development by TI.

This patch is a collaboration between Paul Walmsley <paul@pwsan.com>
and Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>. Thanks to Ming Lei
<tom.leiming@gmail.com> and Pramod <pramod.gurav@ti.com> for their

Kevin Hilman f910043ce0 OMAP: UART: don't resume UARTs that are not enabled.
Add additional check to omap_uart_resume_idle() so that only
enabled (specifically, idle-enabled) UARTs are allowed to resume.
This matches the existing check in prepare idle.

Without this patch, the system will hang if a board is
configured to register only some uarts instead of all of
them and PM is enabled.

James Jones 0e91ec0c06 ARM: 6482/2: Fix find_next_zero_bit and related assembly
The find_next_bit, find_first_bit, find_next_zero_bit
and find_first_zero_bit functions were not properly
clamping to the maxbit argument at the bit level. They
were instead only checking maxbit at the byte level.
To fix this, add a compare and a conditional move
instruction to the end of the common bit-within-the-
byte code used by all the functions and be sure not to
clobber the maxbit argument before it is used.

Philip Rakity 15ec446119 mmc: sdhci: 8-bit bus width changes
We now:
 * check for a v3 controller before setting 8-bit bus width
 * offer a callback for platform code to switch to 8-bit mode, which
allows non-v3 controllers to support it
 * rely on mmc->caps |= MMC_CAP_8_BIT_DATA; in platform code to specify
that the board designers have indeed brought out all the pins for
   8-bit to the slot.

We were previously relying only on whether the *controller* supported
8-bit, which doesn't tell us anything about the pin configuration in
the board design.

This fixes the MMC card regression reported by Maxim Levitsky here:
   http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel.mmc/4336
by no longer assuming that 8-bit works by default.

Will Deacon 1142b71d85 ARM: 6489/1: thumb2: fix incorrect optimisation in usracc
Commit 8b592783 added a Thumb-2 variant of usracc which, when it is
called with \rept=2, calls usraccoff once with an offset of 0 and
secondly with a hard-coded offset of 4 in order to avoid incrementing
the pointer again. If \inc != 4 then we will store the data to the wrong
offset from \ptr. Luckily, the only caller that passes \rept=2 to this
function is __clear_user so we haven't been actively corrupting user data.

This patch fixes usracc to pass \inc instead of #4 to usraccoff
when it is called a second time.

Chris Paulson-Ellis bedad0ca3f ASoC: davinci: fixes for multi-component
Multi-component commit f0fba2ad broke a few things which this patch should
fix. Tested on the DM355 EVM. I've been as careful as I can, but it would be
good if those with access to other Davinci boards could test.

--

The multi-component commit put the initialisation of
snd_soc_dai.[capture|playback]_dma_data into snd_soc_dai_ops.hw_params of the
McBSP, McASP & VCIF drivers (davinci-i2s.c, davinci-mcasp.c & davinci-vcif.c).
The initialisation had to be moved from the probe function in these drivers
because davinci_*_dai changed from snd_soc_dai to snd_soc_dai_driver.

Unfortunately, the DMA params pointer is needed by davinci_pcm_open (in
davinci-pcm.c) before hw_params is called. I have moved the initialisation to
a new snd_soc_dai_ops.startup function in each of these drivers. This fix
indicates that all platforms that use davinci-pcm must have been broken and
need to test with this fix.

--

The multi-component commit also changed the McBSP driver name from
"davinci-asp" to "davinci-i2s" in davinci-i2s.c without updating the board
level references to the driver name. This change is understandable, as there
is a similarly named "davinci-mcasp" driver in davinci-mcasp.c.

There is probably no 'correct' name for this driver. The DM6446 datasheet
calls it the "ASP" and describes it as a "specialised McBSP". The DM355
datasheet calls it the "ASP" and describes it as a "specialised ASP". The
DM365 datasheet calls it the "McBSP". Rather than fix this problem by
reverting to "davinci-asp", I've elected to avoid future confusion with the
"davinci-mcasp" driver by changing it to "davinci-mcbsp", which is also
consistent with the names of the functions in the driver. There are other
fixes required, so it was never going to be as simple as a revert anyway.

--

The DM365 only has one McBSP port (of the McBSP platforms, only the DM355 has
2 ports), so I've changed the the id of the platform_device from 0 to -1.

--

In davinci-evm.c, the DM6446 EVM can no longer share a snd_soc_dai_link
structure with the DM355 EVM as they use different cpu DAI names (the DM355
has 2 ports and the EVM uses the second port, but the DM6446 only has 1 port).
This also means that the 2 boards need different snd_soc_card structures.

--

The codec_name entries in davinci-evm.c didn't match the i2c ids in the board
files. I have only checked and fixed the details of the names used for the
McBSP based platforms. Someone with a McASP based platform (eg DA8xx) should
check the others.

Benoit Cousson 112485e9c5 OMAP: mux: Add support for control module split in several partitions
Starting on OMAP4, the pin mux configuration is located in two
different partitions of the control module (CODE_PAD and WKUP_PAD).
The first one is inside the core power domain whereas the second
one is inside the wakeup.
- Add the capability to add any number of partition during board init
time depending of Soc partitioning.
- Add some init flags as well in order to avoid explicit Soc version
check inside the mux core code.
- Add a comment with mux0 mode on top of omap_mux/board/<partition>
if the current mux mode is not the default one.

Thanks to Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com> for the following improvements:
- Add omap_mux_get for getting the partition data so platform level
device code can use it.
- Fix the rx51 board code to use the new API.
- Do not store the partition for each mux entry. Look up the partition
for debugfs instead.

Russell King 9395f6ea3c ARM: GIC: don't disable software generated interrupts
Software generated interrupts (SGI) are used for IPIs by the kernel.
While previous revisions of the GIC hardware were specified not to
implement enable bits for SGIs, more recent hardware is now permitted
to implement these bits in a per-CPU banked register.

The priority registers for the PPI and SGIs are also per-CPU banked
registers, so ensure that these are also appropriately initialized.

Abdoulaye Walsimou Gaye bdf5005b73 ARM: S3C2440: fix boot failure introduced by recent changes in gpiolib
Recent changes in s3c gpio break mini2440 board and may be others.
The problem is that mach-mini2440.c: mini2440_init()
(where we call s3c_gpio_setpull()) is called before s3c2440.c: s3c2440_init()
(where we initialize s3c24xx_gpiocfg_default.set_pull function pointer).
This causes dereferencing of NULL pointer at boot time and a kernel panic.

Daniel Walker 06125ff051 msm: fix compile failure when no debug uart is selected
If the board has a debug uart the user is given a choice of which
uart to use. The user can also select NONE, which means not to use one.
In most of our header files when NONE is selected nothing is defined
for MSM_DEBUG_UART_PHYS or MSM_DEBUG_UART_BASE. This causes a compile
failure in debug-macro.S which expect something to be defined there.

Example of the failure,

arch/arm/kernel/built-in.o: In function `hexbuf':
linux-2.6/arch/arm/kernel/debug.S:186: undefined reference to `MSM_DEBUG_UART_PHYS'
linux-2.6/arch/arm/kernel/debug.S:186: undefined reference to `MSM_DEBUG_UART_BASE'

This fixes the compile failure by adding an ifdef to debug-macro.S
that removes all the debug uart code in the case of NONE.

Daniel Walker bcd72c3e0a msm: fix debug-macro.S build failure
Originally there was an ifdef case to handle when no debug uart
was selected. In commit 0ea1293009
that case was removed which causes the following build failure,

linux-2.6/arch/arm/kernel/debug.S: Assembler messages:
linux-2.6/arch/arm/kernel/debug.S:174: Error: bad instruction `addruart r1,r2'
linux-2.6/arch/arm/kernel/debug.S:176: Error: bad instruction `waituart r2,r3'

linux-2.6/arch/arm/kernel/debug.S:190: Error: bad instruction `addruart r1,r2'

This is a partial revert to add back the case which was removed with
two caveats. First the API for the addruart macro was updated, and
the new addruart case now return 0xfff00000 so that a know IO mapping
is created instead of a random one.

kishore kadiyala 72f2e2c763 mfd: Adding twl6030 mmc card detect support for MMC1
Adding card detect callback function and card detect configuration
function for MMC1 Controller on OMAP4.

Card detect configuration function does initial configuration of the
MMC Control & PullUp-PullDown registers of Phoenix.

For MMC1 Controller, card detect interrupt source is
twl6030 which is non-gpio. The card detect call back function provides
card present/absent status by reading MMC Control register present
on twl6030.

Since OMAP4 doesn't use any GPIO line as used in OMAP3 for card detect,
the suspend/resume initialization which was done in omap_hsmmc_gpio_init
previously is moved to the probe thus making it generic for both OMAP3 &
OMAP4.

Arnd Hannemann 68accd7370 ARM: mach-shmobile: ap4evb: Fix hotplug for SDHI1
On AP4EVB the card detect pin of the top SD/MMC slot is not directly
connected to the tmio/mmcif controller but to a GPIO pin, so polling
needs to be done for SDHI1 and MMCIF in order to support hotplug for
that slot. SHDI1 and MMCIF share that slot, and the used controller
is selected by a DIP switch.
This patch adds a helper function to check if a card is present in that
particular slot, registers this function with SDHI1 and MMCIF and enables

Russell King 8df6516864 ARM: memblock: setup lowmem mappings using memblock
Use memblock information to setup lowmem mappings rather than the
membank array.

This allows platforms to manipulate the memblock information during
initialization to reserve (and remove) memory from the kernel's view
of memory - and thus allowing platforms to setup their own private
mappings for this memory without causing problems with multiple
aliasing mappings:

	size = min(size, SZ_2M);
	base = memblock_alloc(size, min(align, SZ_2M));
	memblock_free(base, size);
	memblock_remove(base, size);

This is needed because multiple mappings of regions with differing
attributes (sharability, type, cache) are not permitted with ARMv6
and above.

Mika Westerberg c8c90860cd ARM: 6466/1: implement flush_icache_all for the rest of the CPUs
Commit 81d11955bf ("ARM: 6405/1: Handle __flush_icache_all for
CONFIG_SMP_ON_UP") added a new function to struct cpu_cache_fns:
flush_icache_all(). It also implemented this for v6 and v7 but not
for v5 and backwards. Without the function pointer in place, we
will be calling wrong cache functions.

For example with ep93xx we get following:

Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address ee070f38

__dma_alloc() calls (inlined) __dma_alloc_buffer() which ends up
calling dmac_flush_range(). Now since the entries in the
arm920_cache_fns are shifted by one, we jump into address 0xee070f38
which is actually next instruction after the arm920_cache_fns
structure.

So implement flush_icache_all() for the rest of the supported CPUs
using a generic 'invalidate I cache' instruction.

we will hang in spinlock recursion in the page fault handler:

Peter Zijlstra 20273941f2 mm: fix race in kunmap_atomic()
Christoph reported a nice splat which illustrated a race in the new stack
based kmap_atomic implementation.

The problem is that we pop our stack slot before we're completely done
resetting its state -- in particular clearing the PTE (sometimes that's
CONFIG_DEBUG_HIGHMEM). If an interrupt happens before we actually clear
the PTE used for the last slot, that interrupt can reuse the slot in a
dirty state, which triggers a BUG in kmap_atomic().

Fix this by introducing kmap_atomic_idx() which reports the current slot
index without actually releasing it and use that to find the PTE and delay
the _pop() until after we're completely done.

Peter Zijlstra 3e4d3af501 mm: stack based kmap_atomic()
Keep the current interface but ignore the KM_type and use a stack based
approach.

The advantage is that we get rid of crappy code like:

	#define __KM_PTE			\
		(in_nmi() ? KM_NMI_PTE : 	\
		 in_irq() ? KM_IRQ_PTE :	\
		 KM_PTE0)

and in general can stop worrying about what context we're in and what kmap
slots might be appropriate for that.

The downside is that FRV kmap_atomic() gets more expensive.

For now we use a CPP trick suggested by Andrew:

  #define kmap_atomic(page, args...) __kmap_atomic(page)

to avoid having to touch all kmap_atomic() users in a single patch.

Per Fransson ae6948048c ARM: ux500 specific L2 cache code
The generic version of l2x0_inv_all is only called just after disabling
the L2 cache and is surrounded by a spinlock. However, we're not really
turning off the L2 cache right now, and the PL310 does not support
exclusive accesses (used to implement the spinlock). So, the
invalidation needs to be done without the spinlock.

Thomas Gleixner ae360a78f4 arm: Disable outer (L2) cache in kexec
kexec does not disable the outer cache before disabling the inner
caches in cpu_proc_fin(). So L2 is enabled across the kexec jump. When
the new kernel enables chaches again, it randomly crashes.

Disabling L2 before calling cpu_proc_fin() cures the problem.

This patch add cose related to regulator. To control powre consumeption

Additionally, I explain the constraints of the regulator of WM8994 codec.
All these consumer supply of WM8994 codec connected the regulator(VCC_1.8V)
on a circuit diagram. "VCC_1.8V" regulator is always enabled, because it is
used to many devices on Goni/Aquila board. This is required especially
when there are many devices physically attached to "VCC_1.8V" and some of
they did not "register" as consumers to "VCC_1.8V". "VCC_1.8V" might be

Adding a new flash definition would need less code.
Keep the platform passing flash definition method.

not need to follow the common settings.
