Takashi Iwai 2c885878c1 ALSA: hda - Use init callback in stac92xx_resume()
Call the init callback and remove duplicated codes in stac92xx_resume().
This also fixes the missing initialization such as digital I/O pins.

Wu Fengguang 5f1e71b1cc ALSA: ELD proc interface for HDMI sinks
Create /proc/asound/card<card_no>/eld#<codec_no> to reflect the audio
configurations and capabilities of the attached HDMI sink.

Some notes:

- Shall we show an empty file if the ELD content is not valid?
Well it's not that simple. There could be partially populated ELD,
and there may be malformed ELD provided by buggy drivers/monitors.
So expose ELD as it is.

- The ELD retrieval routines rely on the Intel HDA interface,
others are/could be universal and independent ones.

- How do we name the proc file?
If there are going to be two HDMI pins per codec, then the current naming
scheme (eld#<codec no>) will fail. Luckily the user space dependencies should
be minimal, so it would be trivial to do the rename if that happens.

- The ELD proc file content is designed to be easy for scripts and human reading.
Its lines all have the pattern:
	  <item_name>\t[\t]*<item_value>
where <item_name> is a keyword in c language, while <item_value> could be any
contents, including white spaces. <item_value> could also be a null value.

Reorder HDMI audio enabling sequence so that

Takashi Iwai d7a8943635 ALSA: hda - Fix IDT/STAC multiple HP detection
Due to the recent change for multiple HP as line-out switch, only
one of the multiple headphons (usually a wrong one) is toggled
and the other pins are still disabled. This causes the silent output
problem on some Dell laptops.

Also, the hp_switch check is screwed up when a line-in or a mic-in
jack exists. This is added as an additional output, but hp_switch
check doesn't take it into account.

This patch fixes these issues: simplify hp_switch check by using
the NID instead of bool, and clean up / fix the toggle of HP pins
in unsol event handler code.

Tony Vroon 64154835c5 ALSA: hda - Add lifebook model for Realtek ALC269
The widget layout of the Fujitsu Lifebook S6420 (which is ICH9M-based
and uses an ALC269) is similar but not identical to the Lifebook
S6410/E8410 (which are ICH8M-based and use an ALC262).

It is named lifebook as fujitsu is in use for Amilo machines. This builds
on the Quanta FL1 work and supports all analog inputs & outputs that I am
aware of. Microphone autoswitch is implemented. The laptop mic port takes
precedence over the dock mic port if both happen to have a jack plugged in.
This made sense to me as a design decision (imagine a presentation
environment with the dock fully wired in and the presenter quickly wanting
to override the mic with a headset).

There is mention of a digital audio path on the codec graph, so perhaps
the headphone socket is dual-function analog/digital. I will follow up
with another patch if I can acquire equipment to test this.

When an error occurs during the codec probing, typically accessing to an

The recent addition of automatic mic-muting is broken in some cases.
The code assumes that the pin nids <= 0x18, but the digital pins can

on the hardware implementation actually.

Instead of complex case-fixes, better to disable the code as now.

This patch adds support to the IDT codec families to report jack status
to the jack abstraction layer. This required some reorganization in the

reporting the nid with the event.

Also adds an sigmatel_jack struct to keep track of the nid relation
to the jack abstraction layer instance. Also adds functions to set and
retrieve data values for each nid, this is used in stac92xx_unsol_event

Vedran Miletic eee75a6ca7 ALSA: ice1724: Enable MIDI on TerraTec PHASE 22 and PHASE 28
Even though MIDI was fixed on ice1724 chips a while ago, it wasn't yet
enabled for some cards as it didn't get enough testing. This was tested
with MIDI keyboard on PHASE 22 and with looping back output to input and
it works stable, so it's safe to enable it.

Besides this, there are some more minor fixes, not exactly user visible:
* added info about PHASE 28 (collected, as I don't have a card)
* added info about TS22PCI and new revisions of PHASE 22
* disable 192k on PHASE 22 as AK4524 I2S doesn't support it

The SPDIF output is toggled at each time any SPDIF status bits are changed
because of the known problems on some codecs. But, this also results in

check whether this workaround is needed and skip if unnecessary.

Clemens Ladisch df91bc23dc ALSA: oxygen: fix distorted output on AK4396-based cards
When changing the sample rate, the CMI8788's master clock output becomes
unstable for a short time. The AK4396 needs the master clock to do SPI
writes, so writing to an AK4396 control register directly after a sample
rate change will garble the value. In our case, this leads to the DACs
being misconfigured to I2S sample format, which results in a wrong
output level and horrible distortions on samples louder than -6 dB.

To fix this, we need to wait until the new master clock signal has
become stable before doing SPI writes.

Nicolas Boichat 536319afd1 ALSA: Allow to force model to intel-mac-v3 in snd_hda_intel (sigmatel).
Currently, even if you pass model=intel-mac-v3 as a module parameter to
snd_hda_intel, the function patch_stac922x (patch_sigmatel.c) will still
try to auto-detect the model type. This is a problem on my MacBook Pro 1st
generation, which needs intel-mac-v3, but sometimes incorrectly reports
0x00000100 as subsystem id, which causes the switch in patch_stac922x to
select intel-mac-v4.

To fix this, I added a new model called intel-mac-auto, so in case no
module parameter is passed, and an Intel Mac board is detected, the
model will be automatically detected, while no detection will be done
if the model is forced to intel-mac-v3.

This problem has been around for quite a while, and I used to fix it
by moving the case statement for 0x00000100 in patch_stac922x so that
intel-mac-v3 is chosen.

Another way to fix the problem would be to check if a module parameter
was set directly in patch_stac922x, using something like this:
if (spec->board_config == STAC_INTEL_MAC_V3 &&
	!codec->bus->modelname) {

But I think it is less elegant (if you prefer that way, I can prepare a
patch).

David Woodhouse fa6e1cb66e maestro3: treat firmware data as const
The maestro3 driver is byte-swapping its firmware to be host-endian in
advance, when it doesn't seem to be necessary -- we could just use
le16_to_cpu() as we load it.

Doing that means that we need to switch the in-tree firmware to be
little-endian too.

Take the least intrusive way of doing this, which is to switch the
existing snd_m3_convert_from_le() function to convert _to_ little-endian
instead, and use it on the in-tree firmware instead of the loaded
firmware. It's a bit suboptimal but doesn't matter much right now
because we're about to remove the special cases for the in-tree version
anyway.

Andreas Mohr 627d3e7abc ALSA: PCI168 snd-azt3328: some more fixups
- fix problem with codec register 0x6a being write-only
by adding a software shadow register
(caused annoying noise after module loading due to _toggling_
between gameport and audio bits instead of configuring them properly)
- rename several "Wave" mixer controls to "PCM", since this is
what Wine and several other apps are looking for (IOW, _requiring_)
and this is what AC97 specs use as naming, too,
thus I'd guess it's what these controls are
- cleanup, small optimizations
