The pci_fixup_irqs() function allocates IRQs for all PCI devices present in
a system; those PCI devices possibly belong to different PCI bus trees (and
possibly rooted at different host bridges) and may well be enabled (ie
probed and bound to a driver) by the time pci_fixup_irqs() is called when
probing a given host bridge driver.
Furthermore, current kernel code relying on pci_fixup_irqs() to assign
legacy PCI IRQs to devices does not work at all for hotplugged devices in
that the code carrying out the IRQ fixup is called at host bridge driver
probe time, which just cannot take into account devices hotplugged after
the system has booted.
The introduction of map/swizzle function hooks in struct pci_host_bridge
allows us to define per-bridge map/swizzle functions that can be used at
device probe time in PCI core code to allocate IRQs for a given device
(through pci_assign_irq()).
Convert PCI host bridge initialization code to the
pci_scan_root_bus_bridge() API (that allows to pass a struct
pci_host_bridge with initialized map/swizzle pointers) and remove the
pci_fixup_irqs() call from arch code.

Since commit fcc8487d47 ("uapi: export all headers under uapi
directories"), all (and only) headers under uapi directories are
exported, but asm-generic wrappers are still exceptions.
To complete de-coupling the uapi from kernel headers, move generic-y
of exported headers to uapi/asm/Kbuild.
With this change, "make headers_install" will just need to parse
uapi/asm/Kbuild to build up exported headers.
For m68k, "generic-y += termios.h" is doubled in asm/Kbuild and
uapi/asm/Kbuild. So, the one in the former can be simply removed.
Also, move "generic-y += kprobes.h" up in order to keep the entries
sorted.

Currently, internals of dma_common_mmap() is compiled out if build is
done for either NOMMU or target which explicitly says it does not
have/want coherent DMA mmap. It turned out that dma_common_mmap() can
be handy in NOMMU setup (at least for ARM).
This patch converts exitent NOMMU targets to use ARCH_NO_COHERENT_DMA_MMAP,
thus when CONFIG_MMU is gone from dma_common_mmap() their behaviour stays
unchanged.
ARM is not converted to ARCH_NO_COHERENT_DMA_MMAP because it 1)
already has mmap callback which can handle (at some extent) NOMMU 2)
already defines dummy pgprot_noncached() for NOMMU build.
c6x and frv stay untouched since they already have ARCH_NO_COHERENT_DMA_MMAP.

In preparation for making the clockevents core NTP correction aware,
all clockevent device drivers must set ->min_delta_ticks and
->max_delta_ticks rather than ->min_delta_ns and ->max_delta_ns: a
clockevent device's rate is going to change dynamically and thus, the
ratio of ns to ticks ceases to stay invariant.
Make the m68k arch's coldfire clockevent driver initialize these fields
properly.
This patch alone doesn't introduce any change in functionality as the
clockevents core still looks exclusively at the (untouched) ->min_delta_ns
and ->max_delta_ns. As soon as this has changed, a followup patch will
purge the initialization of ->min_delta_ns and ->max_delta_ns from this
driver.

Often all is needed is these small helpers, instead of compiler.h or a
full kprobes.h. This is important for asm helpers, in fact even some
asm/kprobes.h make use of these helpers... instead just keep a generic
asm file with helpers useful for asm code with the least amount of
clutter as possible.
Likewise we need now to also address what to do about this file for both
when architectures have CONFIG_HAVE_KPROBES, and when they do not. Then
for when architectures have CONFIG_HAVE_KPROBES but have disabled
CONFIG_KPROBES.
Right now most asm/kprobes.h do not have guards against CONFIG_KPROBES,
this means most architecture code cannot include asm/kprobes.h safely.
Correct this and add guards for architectures missing them.
Additionally provide architectures that not have kprobes support with
the default asm-generic solution. This lets us force asm/kprobes.h on
the header include/linux/kprobes.h always, but most importantly we can
now safely include just asm/kprobes.h on architecture code without
bringing the full kitchen sink of header files.
Two architectures already provided a guard against CONFIG_KPROBES on its
kprobes.h: sh, arch. The rest of the architectures needed gaurds added.
We avoid including any not-needed headers on asm/kprobes.h unless
kprobes have been enabled.
In a subsequent atomic change we can try now to remove compiler.h from
include/linux/kprobes.h.
During this sweep I've also identified a few architectures defining a
common macro needed for both kprobes and ftrace, that of the definition
of the breakput instruction up. Some refer to this as
BREAKPOINT_INSTRUCTION. This must be kept outside of the #ifdef
CONFIG_KPROBES guard.

Bart Van Assche noted that the ib DMA mapping code was significantly
similar enough to the core DMA mapping code that with a few changes
it was possible to remove the IB DMA mapping code entirely and
switch the RDMA stack to use the core DMA mapping code. This resulted
in a nice set of cleanups, but touched the entire tree. This branch
will be submitted separately to Linus at the end of the merge window
as per normal practice for tree wide changes like this.

In macints.c there is some startup code which disables the SONIC interrupt
in an attempt to avoid an unhandled slot interrupt, which would be fatal.
This only works on those machines where the SONIC device is on-board.
When the mac_sonic driver is built-in, there's little point in doing this,
because the device will be initialized a few seconds later anyway. But
when mac_sonic is a module, the window for an unhandled interrupt is
longer.
Either way, we've already run the gauntlet for 5 or 10 seconds by the time
we get around to disabling this particular device. It's only by sheer luck
that we got this far.
Really, this is too little too late. The general problem of unhandled
early interrupts also affects other devices on other models. There are
better ways to resolve this problem.
1) When using the Penguin bootloader, boot Mac OS with extensions disabled
(by holding down the shift key at startup or by use of the Extensions
Manager control panel). The Penguin docs already contain this advice,
as it is always effective.
2) Have the Penguin bootloader disable the device. It already attempts
to disable slot interrupts. But since some hardware cannot mask slot
interrupts, Penguin should probably close the relevant device
drivers.
3) Use Emile instead of Penguin. AFAIK the boot ROM never enables network
device interrupts and hence they don't need to be disabled.
Remove this hack. It requires maintenance and it doesn't solve the
problem. It improves the odds for a few models, but so does setting
CONFIG_MAC_SONIC=y.

cputime_t is now only used by two architectures:
* powerpc (when CONFIG_VIRT_CPU_ACCOUNTING_NATIVE=y)
* s390
And since the core doesn't use it anymore, we don't need any arch support
from the others. So we can remove their stub implementations.
A final cleanup would be to provide an efficient pure arch
implementation of cputime_to_nsec() for s390 and powerpc and finally
remove include/linux/cputime.h .

The network stack no longer uses the last_rx member of struct net_device
since the bonding driver switched to use its own private last_rx in
commit 9f24273837 ("bonding: use last_arp_rx in slave_last_rx()").
However, some drivers still (ab)use the field for their own purposes and
some driver just update it without actually using it.
Previously, there was an accompanying comment for the last_rx member
added in commit 4dc89133f4 ("net: add a comment on netdev->last_rx")
which asked drivers not to update is, unless really needed. However,
this commend was removed in commit f8ff080dac ("bonding: remove
useless updating of slave->dev->last_rx"), so some drivers added later
on still did update last_rx.
Remove all usage of last_rx and switch three drivers (sky2, atp and
smc91c92_cs) which actually read and write it to use their own private
copy in netdev_priv.
Compile-tested with allyesconfig and allmodconfig on x86 and arm.

- Add vCPU preemption support: add an interface to query the

- Introduce cpu_relax_yield() and remov cpu_relax_lowlatency() to

kernel impact. (Christian Borntraeger)
- Micro-optimize mutexes some more. (Waiman Long)
- Reluctantly add the to-be-deprecated mutex_trylock_recursive()
interface on a temporary basis, to give the DRM code more time to
get rid of its locking hacks. Any other users will be NAK-ed on

These changes based on work by Steven King <sfking@fdwdc.com> to support
the i2c hardware modules on ColdFire SoC family devices.
This is the per SoC hardware support. Contains a common platform device
setup. Each of the SoC family members tends to have some minor local
setup required to initialize the module. But all ColdFire family members
use the same i2c hardware module.
This i2c hardware module is the same as used in the Freescale iMX ARM
based family of SoC devices. Steven's original patches were based on using
a new and different i2c-coldfire.c driver. But this is not neccessary as
we can use the existing Linux i2c-imx.c driver with no change required to
it. And this patch is now based on using the existing i2c-imx driver.
This patch only contains the ColdFire platform changes.
