Sequences for DisplayPort asks us to
" Configure voltage swing and related IO settings.
Refer to DDI Buffer section."
before "Configure and enable DDI_BUF_CTL"
On BXT and CNL this means to execute the ddi vswing sequences.
At this point these sequences calls are getting duplicated for DP
because they are all called from DP link trainning sequences.
However this patch is not yet removing it before a futher discussion
since spec also allows that during link training without disabling
anything:
"
Notes
Changing voltage swing during link training:
Change the swing setting following the DDI Buffer section.
The port does not need to be disabled.

Atm disabling either DP or eDP outputs can generate a spurious short
pulse interrupt. The reason is that after disabling the port the source
will stop sending a valid stream data, while the sink expects either a
valid stream or the idle pattern. Since neither of this is sent the sink
assumes (after an arbitrary delay) that the link is lost and requests
for link retraining with a short pulse.
The spurious pulse is a real problem at least for eDP panels with long
power-off / power-cycle delays: as part of disabling the output we
disable the panel power. The subsequent spurious short pulse handling
will have to turn the power back on, which means the driver has to do a
redundant wait for the power-off and power-cycle delays. During system
suspend this leads to an unnecessary delay up to ~1s on systems with
such panels as reported by Rui.
To fix this put the sink to DPMS D3 state before turning off the port.
According to the DP spec in this state the sink should not request
retraining. This is also what we do already on pre-ddi platforms.
As an alternative I also tried configuring the port to send idle pattern
- which is against BSPec - and leave the port in normal mode before
turning off the port. Neither of these resolved the problem.

This is mostly code churn, with exception of a few places:
- intel_display.c has changes in intel_sanitize_encoder
- intel_ddi.c has intel_ddi_fdi_disable calling intel_ddi_post_disable,
and required a function change. Also affects intel_display.c
- intel_dp_mst.c passes a NULL crtc_state and conn_state to
intel_ddi_post_disable for shutting down the real encoder.
If we would pass conn_state, then conn_state->connector !=
intel_dig_port->connector and conn_state->best_encoder !=
to_intel_encoder(intel_dig_port).
We also shouldn't pass crtc_state, because in that case the
disabling sequence may potentially be different depending on
which crtc is disabled last. Nice way to introduce bugs.
No other functional changes are done, diff stat is already huge.

It's not clear when this lane configuration takes effect. The
specification only requires that the programming is done before enabling
the port. On CHV OTOH the lanes start to power up already right after
enabling the PLL. To be safe preserve the current order and set things
up already before enabling the PLL.
v2: (Ander)
- Simplify the optimization mask calculation.
- Use the correct pipe_config always during the calculation instead
of the bogus intel_crtc->config.

So far we depended on the HW to dynamically power down unused PHYs and
so we enabled them manually once during driver loading/resuming. There
are indications however that we can achieve better power savings by
manual powering toggling. So make the PHY enabling/disabling to happen
on-demand whenever we need either the corresponding AUX or port
functionality. CHV does this already by enabling the PHY along the
corresponding PHY common lane power wells there, do the same on BXT by
adding virtual power wells for the same purpose.
Also sanity check the common lane power down ack signal from the PHY. Do
this only when the PHY is enabled, since it's not clear at what point
the HW power/clock gates things.
While at it rename broxton_ prefix to bxt_ in related function names to
better align with the SKL code.

A follow-up patch moves the PHY enabling to the power well code where
enabling/disabling the PHYs will happen independently. Because of this
waiting for the GRC calibration in PHY1 asynchronously would need some
additional logic. Instead of adding that let's keep things simple for now
and wait synchronously. My measurements showed that the calibration
takes ~4ms.

Rather than let the core generate usless encoder names, let's pass in
something that actually identifies the piece of hardware we're dealing
with.
v2: Use 'DSI %c' instead of 'MIPI %c' for DSI encoders (Jani)
v3: Use port_name() in DSI code since we have it

To save a bit of power, let's try to turn off the TMDS output buffers
in DP++ adaptors when we're not driving the port.
v2: Let's not forget DDI, toss in a debug message while at it
v3: Just do the TMDS output control based on adaptor type. With the
helper getting passed the type, we wouldn't actually have to
check at all in the driver, but the check eliminates the debug
output more honest

Right now MST audio is causing too many kernel panics to really keep
around in the kernel. On top of that, even after fixing said panics it's
still basically non-functional (at least on all the setups I've tested
it on). Revert until we have a proper solution for this.
This reverts commit 3d52ccf52f.
