Axel Lin 8ecee36adc regulator: wm8350-regulator - fix the logic of checking REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY mode
In wm8350_dcdc_set_mode(), we set DCx_SLEEP bit of WM8350_DCDC_SLEEP_OPTIONS
register for REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY mode.
( DCx_SLEEP bits: 0: Normal DC-DC operation 1: Select LDO mode )

In wm8350_dcdc_get_mode(), current logic to determinate
REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY mode is just reverse.
( sleep is set should mean REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY mode. )

Axel Lin e260999c66 regulator: wm831x-ldo - fix the logic to set REGULATOR_MODE_IDLE and REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY modes
Problem description in current implementation:
When setting REGULATOR_MODE_IDLE mode, current implementation set
WM831X_LDO1_LP_MODE bit of ctrl_reg (which is wrong, it should clear the bit).
But due to a missing break statement for case REGULATOR_MODE_IDLE, the code
fall through to case REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY and then clear
WM831X_LDO1_LP_MODE bit. So it still looks OK when checking the status
by wm831x_gp_ldo_get_mode().

When setting REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY mode, it just does not work.
wm831x_gp_ldo_get_mode() will still return REGULATOR_MODE_IDLE because
the accordingly WM831X_LDO1_LP_MODE bit is clear.

Correct behavior should be:
Clear WM831X_LDO1_LP_MODE bit of ctrl_reg for REGULATOR_MODE_IDLE mode.
Set WM831X_LDO1_LP_MODE bit of ctrl_reg for REGULATOR_MODE_STANDBY mode.

Axel Lin d06563cb86 regulator: 88pm8607 - fix value range checking for accessing info->vol_table
In choose_voltage(), we use i as array index of info->vol_table.
The valid value range for i should be 0 .. ARRAY_SIZE(info->vol_table) - 1.

Take LDO1 as example, ARRAY_SIZE(LDO1_table) is 4, vol_nbits of LDO1 is 2.
for (i = 0; i < (2 << info->vol_nbits); i++)  is equivalent to
for (i = 0; i < 8; i++)
which is wrong.

The same value range checking also applies for index in pm8607_list_voltage().

MyungJoo Ham c5a4655db9 regulator: MAX8998: set_voltage bugfix. ramp_up delay and min/max voltage
Two issues are addressed for max8998_set_voltage function.

1. Min/Max Voltage.

max8998_set_voltage had been using the voltage value of

	min ( voltage[i] >= max_vol , i )

	This is corrected to use:

	min ( voltage[i] >= min_vol , i )

2. Ramp Up Delay.

max8998_set_voltage should provide delay for BUCK1/2
if ENRAMP is on. It reads RAMP value from ONOFF4 register to determine
RAMP delay length. However, when max8998_set_voltage's new voltage is
lower than the previous, we don't care because it does not deteriorate
the stability.

Anuj Aggarwal 7d14831e21 regulator: tps6507x: allow driver to use DEFDCDC{2,3}_HIGH register
Acked-by: Mark Brown <broonie@opensource.wolfsonmicro.com>

In TPS6507x, depending on the status of DEFDCDC{2,3} pin either
DEFDCDC{2,3}_LOW or DEFDCDC{2,3}_HIGH register needs to be read or
programmed to change the output voltage.

The current driver assumes DEFDCDC{2,3} pins are always tied low
and thus operates only on DEFDCDC{2,3}_LOW register. This need
not always be the case (as is found on OMAP-L138 EVM).

Unfortunately, software cannot read the status of DEFDCDC{2,3} pins.
So, this information is passed through platform data depending on
how the board is wired.

devices are not really unregistered, but merely detached from their driver, it
used to be the drivers obligation to clear this pointer during remove() or a
failed probe(). As a couple of drivers forgot to do this, it was agreed that it
was cleaner if the i2c-core does this clearance when appropriate, as there is
no guarantee for the lifetime of the clientdata-pointer after remove() anyhow.
This feature was added to the core with commit
e4a7b9b04d to fix the faulty drivers.

As there is no need anymore to clear the clientdata-pointer, remove all current
occurrences in the drivers to simplify the code and prevent confusion.

Mattias Wallin fa661258a2 mfd: AB3100 register access change to abx500 API
The interface for the AB3100 is changed to make way for the
ABX500 family of chips: AB3550, AB5500 and future ST-Ericsson
Analog Baseband chips. The register access functions are moved
out to a separate struct abx500_ops. In this way the interface
is moved from the implementation and the sub functionality drivers
can keep their interface intact when chip infrastructure and
communication mechanisms changes. We also define the AB3550
device IDs and the AB3550 platform data struct and convert
the catenated 32bit event to an array of 3 x 8bits.

True. In such a case, even a valid request would be lost! So now
in the updated patch:
 - check if get_mode is present to avoid oops;
 - if get_mode is not present, proceed anyways for the request.

Here is the updated patch:

Rajendra Nayak 3e3d3be79c twl6030: regulator: Remove vsel tables and use formula for calculation
All twl6030 regulators can be programmed from 1.0v to 3.3v
with 100mV steps.
The below formula can be used to calculate the vsel values
to be programmed in the VREG_VOLTAGE registers.

Voltage(in mV) = 1000mv + 100mv * (vsel - 1)

Ex: if vsel = 0x9, mV = 1000 + 100 * (9 -1) = 1800mV.

This patch removes all existing VSEL tables for twl6030 adjustable
regulators and just uses the formula directly for vsel calculations
after verifing they fall in the allowed range.

Tejun Heo 5a0e3ad6af include cleanup: Update gfp.h and slab.h includes to prepare for breaking implicit slab.h inclusion from percpu.h
percpu.h is included by sched.h and module.h and thus ends up being
included when building most .c files. percpu.h includes slab.h which
in turn includes gfp.h making everything defined by the two files
universally available and complicating inclusion dependencies.

percpu.h -> slab.h dependency is about to be removed. Prepare for
this change by updating users of gfp and slab facilities include those
headers directly instead of assuming availability. As this conversion
needs to touch large number of source files, the following script is
used as the basis of conversion.

  http://userweb.kernel.org/~tj/misc/slabh-sweep.py

The script does the followings.

* Scan files for gfp and slab usages and update includes such that
only the necessary includes are there. ie. if only gfp is used,
gfp.h, if slab is used, slab.h.

* When the script inserts a new include, it looks at the include
blocks and try to put the new include such that its order conforms
to its surrounding. It's put in the include block which contains
core kernel includes, in the same order that the rest are ordered -
alphabetical, Christmas tree, rev-Xmas-tree or at the end if there
doesn't seem to be any matching order.

* If the script can't find a place to put a new include (mostly
because the file doesn't have fitting include block), it prints out
an error message indicating which .h file needs to be added to the
  file.

The conversion was done in the following steps.

1. The initial automatic conversion of all .c files updated slightly
over 4000 files, deleting around 700 includes and adding ~480 gfp.h
and ~3000 slab.h inclusions. The script emitted errors for ~400
   files.

2. Each error was manually checked. Some didn't need the inclusion,
some needed manual addition while adding it to implementation .h or
embedding .c file was more appropriate for others. This step added
   inclusions to around 150 files.

3. The script was run again and the output was compared to the edits
from #2 to make sure no file was left behind.

4. Several build tests were done and a couple of problems were fixed.
   e.g. lib/decompress_*.c used malloc/free() wrappers around slab
APIs requiring slab.h to be added manually.

5. The script was run on all .h files but without automatically
editing them as sprinkling gfp.h and slab.h inclusions around .h
files could easily lead to inclusion dependency hell. Most gfp.h
inclusion directives were ignored as stuff from gfp.h was usually
wildly available and often used in preprocessor macros. Each
slab.h inclusion directive was examined and added manually as
   necessary.

6. percpu.h was updated not to include slab.h.

7. Build test were done on the following configurations and failures
were fixed. CONFIG_GCOV_KERNEL was turned off for all tests (as my
distributed build env didn't work with gcov compiles) and a few
more options had to be turned off depending on archs to make things
build (like ipr on powerpc/64 which failed due to missing writeq).

   * x86 and x86_64 UP and SMP allmodconfig and a custom test config.
   * powerpc and powerpc64 SMP allmodconfig
   * sparc and sparc64 SMP allmodconfig
   * ia64 SMP allmodconfig
   * s390 SMP allmodconfig
   * alpha SMP allmodconfig
   * um on x86_64 SMP allmodconfig

8. percpu.h modifications were reverted so that it could be applied as
a separate patch and serve as bisection point.

Given the fact that I had only a couple of failures from tests on step
6, I'm fairly confident about the coverage of this conversion patch.
If there is a breakage, it's likely to be something in one of the arch
headers which should be easily discoverable easily on most builds of
the specific arch.

Haojian Zhuang 53dbab7af9 mfd: Support 88pm8606 in 860x driver
88PM8606 and 88PM8607 are two discrete chips used for power management.
Hardware designer can use them together or only one of them according to
requirement.

There's some logic tightly linked between these two chips. For example, USB
charger driver needs to access both chips by I2C interface.

Now share one driver to these two devices. Only one I2C client is identified
in platform init data. If another chip is also used, user should mark it in
companion_addr field of platform init data. Then driver could create another
I2C client for the companion chip.

All I2C operations are accessed by 860x-i2c driver. In order to support both
I2C client address, the read/write API is changed in below.

reg_read(client, offset)
reg_write(client, offset, data)

The benefit is that client drivers only need one kind of read/write API. I2C
and MFD driver can be shared in both 8606 and 8607.

Since API is changed, update API in 8607 regulator driver.

regulator: wm8400 - cleanup platform driver data handling

Driver data set by platform_set_drvdata() is for private use of
the driver currently bound to teh device and not for use by parent,
subsystem and anyone else.

Mark Brown 34abbd68ef regulator: Provide optional dummy regulator for consumers
In order to ease transitions with drivers are boards start using regulators
provide an option to cause all regulator_get() calls to succeed, with a
dummy always on regulator being supplied where one has not been configured.
A warning is printed whenever the dummy regulator is used to aid system
development.

This regulator does not implement any regulator operations but will allow
simple consumers which only do enable() and disable() calls to run. It
is kept separate from the fixed voltage regulator to avoid Kconfig
confusion on the part of users when it is extended to allow boards to
explicitly use the dummy regulator to simplify cases where the majority
of supplies are from fixed regulators without software control.

This option is currently only effective for systems which do not specify
full constriants. If required an override could also be provided to allow
these systems to use the dummy regulator, though it is likely that
unconfigured supplies on such systems will lead to error due to
regulators being powered down more aggressively when not in use.

Alberto Panizzo f4b97b36b7 regulator: mc13783: consider Power Gates as digital regulators.
GPO regulators are digital outputs that can be enabled or disabled by a
dedicated bit in mc13783 POWERMISC register.
In this family can be count in also Power Gates (PWGT1 and 2): enabled by
a dedicated pin a Power Gate is an hardware driven supply where the output
(PWGTnDRV) follow this law:

Bit PWGTxSPIEN | Pin PWGTxEN | PWGTxDRV | Read Back
   0 = default  |             |          | PWGTxSPIEN
 ---------------+-------------+----------+------------
       1 | x | Low | 0
       0 | 0 | High | 1
       0 | 1 | Low | 0

As read back value of control bit reflects the PWGTxDRV state (not the
control value previously written) and mc13783 POWERMISC register contain
only regulator related bits, a dedicated function to manage these bits is
created here with the aim of tracing the real value of PWGTxSPIEN bits
and reproduce it on next writes.

All POWERMISC users _must_ use the new function to not accidentally
disable Power Gates supplies.

v2 changes:
-Better utilization of abstraction layers.
-Voltage query support. GPO's and PWGTxDRV are fixed voltage regulator
with voltage value of 3.1V and 5.5V respectively.

Mark Brown 31aae2beeb regulator: Allow regulators to specify the time taken to ramp on enable
Regulators may sometimes take longer to enable than the control operation
used to do so, either because the regulator has ramp rate control used to
limit inrush current or because the control operation is very fast (GPIO
being the most common example of this). In order to ensure that consumers
do not rely on the regulator before it is enabled provide an enable_time()
operation and have the core delay for that time before returning to the
caller.

This is implemented as a function since the ramp rate may be specified in
voltage per unit time and therefore the time depend on the configuration.
In future it would be desirable to allow the bulk operations to run the
delays for multiple enables in parallel but this is not currently supported.

Alberto Panizzo 735eb93ae2 regulator: mc13783-regulator: correct the probing time.
When the mc13783-regulator driver is built in kernel, probing it during
the regulator subsystem initialisation result in a fault.

That is because regulator subsystem is planned to be initialised very early

The mc12783-regulator probing process need to access to the mc13783-core

Mark Brown 638f85c54f regulator: Handle regulators without suspend mode configuration
Since some regulators in the system may not support suspend mode
configuration we need to allow some regulators to have a missing
suspend mode configuration. Do this by requiring that disabled
regulators are explicitly flagged and then skip over regulators

Try to avoid surprises by warning the if we could set the state
but no configuration is provided. This also ensures that an all
zeros configuration generates a warning rather than silently
disabling the regulator.

Some of the regulator API functions have code to allow the machine

Mark Brown e24a04c44c regulator: Implement WM831x BuckWise DC-DC convertor DVS support
The BuckWise DC-DC convertors in WM831x devices support switching to
a second output voltage using the logic level on one of the device
pins. This is intended to allow rapid voltage switching for uses like
cpufreq, replacing the I2C or SPI write used to configure the voltage
of the regulator with a much faster GPIO status change.

This is implemented by keeping the DVS voltage configured as the
maximum voltage permitted for the regulator. If a request is made
for the maximum voltage then the GPIO is used to switch to the DVS
voltage, otherwise the normal ON voltage is updated and used. This
follows the idiom used by most cpufreq drivers, which drop the
minimum voltage as the core frequency is dropped but use a constant
maximum - raising the voltage should normally be fast, but lowering
it may be slower.

Configuration of the DVS MFP on the device should be done externally,
for example via OTP.

Support is present in the hardware for monitoring the status of the
transition using a second GPIO. This is not currently implemented
but platform data is provided for it - the driver currently assumes
that the device will be configured to transition immediately - but
platform data is provided to reduce merge issues once it is.

Mark Brown 6a6127462e mfd: Mask and unmask wm8350 IRQs on request and free
Bring the WM8350 IRQ API more in line with the generic IRQ API by
masking and unmasking interrupts as they are requested and freed.
This is mostly just a case of deleting the mask and unmask calls
from the individual drivers.

The RTC driver is changed to mask the periodic IRQ after requesting
it rather than only unmasking the alarm IRQ. If the periodic IRQ
fires in the period where it is reqested then there will be a
spurious notification but there should be no serious consequences
from this.

The CODEC drive is changed to explicitly disable headphone jack
detection prior to requesting the IRQs. This will avoid the IRQ
firing with no jack set up.
