Manuel Lauss cd671c16f0 net/irda: convert au1k_ir to platform driver.
Moderate driver cleanup:
convert to platform driver, get rid of board-specific code.

Driver loads and runs on a DB1100 board. But since I have no other
IrDA hardware to exchange data with I can't say whether it really sends
and receives.

Jayachandran C 66d29985fa MIPS: Netlogic: Merge some of XLR/XLP wakup code
Create a common NMI and reset handler in smpboot.S and use this for
both XLR and XLP. In the earlier code, the woken up CPUs would
busy wait until released, switch this to wakeup by NMI.

The initial wakeup code or XLR and XLP are differ since they are
started from different bootloaders (XLP from u-boot and XLR from
netlogic bootloader). But in both platforms the woken up CPUs wait
and are released by sending an NMI.

Add support for starting XLR and XLP in 1/2/4 threads per core.

Maneesh Soni 6457a396bb MIPS Kprobes: Support branch instructions probing
This patch provides support for kprobes on branch instructions. The branch
instruction at the probed address is actually emulated and not executed
out-of-line like other normal instructions. Instead the delay-slot instruction
is copied and single stepped out of line.

At the time of probe hit, the original branch instruction is evaluated
and the target cp0_epc is computed similar to compute_retrun_epc(). It
is also checked if the delay slot instruction can be skipped, which is
true if there is a NOP in delay slot or branch is taken in case of
branch likely instructions. Once the delay slot instruction is single
stepped the normal execution resume with the cp0_epc updated the earlier
computed cp0_epc as per the branch instructions.

Maneesh Soni d8d4e3ae0b MIPS Kprobes: Refactor branch emulation
This patch refactors MIPS branch emulation code so as to allow skipping
delay slot instruction in case of branch likely instructions when branch is
not taken. This is useful for keeping the code common for use cases like
kprobes where one would like to handle the branch instructions keeping the
delay slot instuction also in picture for branch likely instructions. Also
allow emulation when instruction to be decoded is not at pt_regs->cp0_epc
as in case of kprobes where pt_regs->cp0_epc points to the breakpoint
instruction.

The patch also exports the function for modules.

David Daney 43064c0c8e MIPS: Handle initmem in systems with kernel not in add_memory_region() mem
This patch addresses a couple of related problems:

1) The kernel may reside in physical memory outside of the ranges set
by plat_mem_setup(). If this is the case, init mem cannot be
reused as it resides outside of the range of pages that the kernel
   memory allocators control.

2) initrd images might be loaded in physical memory outside of the
ranges set by plat_mem_setup(). The memory likewise cannot be
reused. The patch doesn't handle this specific case, but the
infrastructure is useful for future patches that do.

The crux of the problem is that there are memory regions that need be
memory_present(), but that cannot be free_bootmem() at the time of
arch_mem_init(). We create a new type of memory (BOOT_MEM_INIT_RAM)
for use with add_memory_region(). Then arch_mem_init() adds the init
mem with this type if the init mem is not already covered by existing
ranges.

When memory is being freed into the bootmem allocator, we skip the
BOOT_MEM_INIT_RAM ranges so they are not clobbered, but we do signal
them as memory_present(). This way when they are later freed, the
necessary memory manager structures have initialized and the Sparse
allocater is prevented from crashing.

The Octeon specific code that handled this case is removed, because
the new general purpose code handles the case.

Johannes Berg 6e3e939f3b net: add wireless TX status socket option
The 802.1X EAPOL handshake hostapd does requires
knowing whether the frame was ack'ed by the peer.
Currently, we fudge this pretty badly by not even
transmitting the frame as a normal data frame but
injecting it with radiotap and getting the status
out of radiotap monitor as well. This is rather
complex, confuses users (mon.wlan0 presence) and
doesn't work with all hardware.

To get rid of that hack, introduce a real wifi TX
status option for data frame transmissions.

This works similar to the existing TX timestamping
in that it reflects the SKB back to the socket's
error queue with a SCM_WIFI_STATUS cmsg that has
an int indicating ACK status (0/1).

Since it is possible that at some point we will
want to have TX timestamping and wifi status in a
single errqueue SKB (there's little point in not
doing that), redefine SO_EE_ORIGIN_TIMESTAMPING
to SO_EE_ORIGIN_TXSTATUS which can collect more
than just the timestamp; keep the old constant
as an alias of course. Currently the internal APIs
don't make that possible, but it wouldn't be hard
to split them up in a way that makes it possible.

Thanks to Neil Horman for helping me figure out
the functions that add the control messages.

Eric W. Biederman 1448c721e4 compat: sync compat_stats with statfs.
This was found by inspection while tracking a similar
bug in compat_statfs64, that has been fixed in mainline
since decemeber.

- This fixes a bug where not all of the f_spare fields
were cleared on mips and s390.
- Add the f_flags field to struct compat_statfs
- Copy f_flags to userspace in case someone cares.
- Use __clear_user to copy the f_spare field to userspace
to ensure that all of the elements of f_spare are cleared.
On some architectures f_spare is has 5 ints and on some
architectures f_spare only has 4 ints. Which makes
the previous technique of clearing each int individually
  broken.

I don't expect anyone actually uses the old statfs system
call anymore but if they do let them benefit from having
the compat and the native version working the same.

Turns out this patch is producing many build errors with gcc 4.2. Based

further build errors and suboptimal generation even in violation of the

Arun Sharma 7847777a45 atomic: cleanup asm-generic atomic*.h inclusion
After changing all consumers of atomics to include <linux/atomic.h>, we
ran into some compile time errors due to this dependency chain:

linux/atomic.h
  -> asm/atomic.h
    -> asm-generic/atomic-long.h

where atomic-long.h could use funcs defined later in linux/atomic.h
without a prototype. This patches moves the code that includes
asm-generic/atomic*.h to linux/atomic.h.

Archs that need <asm-generic/atomic64.h> need to select
CONFIG_GENERIC_ATOMIC64 from now on (some of them used to include it
unconditionally).

Shinya Kuribayashi 5fba096080 MIPS: Enable cpu_has_clo_clz for MIPS Technologies' platforms
Enable cpu_has_clo_clz only when CONFIG_CPU_MIPS32 or CONFIG_CPU_MIPS64

eventually ffs() and __ffs() as well.

Malta and MIPSSim are development platforms, and need to take care of
various processor configurations, release rivisions and so on, even
across different MIPS ISAs. For such platforms we have to be careful,
for instance, with turning on cpu_has_mips{32,64}r[12] features.

Jian Peng d0be89f6c2 MIPS: topdown mmap support
This patch introduced topdown mmap support in user process address
space allocation policy.

Recently, we ran some large applications that use mmap heavily and
lead to OOM due to inflexible mmap allocation policy on MIPS32.

Since most other major archs supported it for years, it is reasonable
to follow the trend and reduce the pain of porting applications.

Due to cache aliasing concern, arch_get_unmapped_area_topdown() and
other helper functions are implemented in arch/mips/kernel/syscall.c.

There are many more instances of more complicated macros having unnecessary
trailing semicolons, but this pile seems to be all of the cases of simple
values suffering from the problem. (Thus things that are likely to be found
in one of the contexts above, more complicated ones aren't.)

Ralf Baechle 852fe3105e MIPS: Malta: Fix crash in SMP kernel on non-CMP systems.
Since 6be63bbbda (lmo) rsp.
af3a1f6f48 (kernel.org) the Malta code does
no longer probe for presence of GCMP if CMP is not configured. This means
that the variable gcmp_present well be left at its default value of -1
which normally is meant to indicate that GCMP has not yet been mmapped.
This non-zero value is now interpreted as GCMP being present resulting
in a write attempt to a GCMP register resulting in a crash.

Ralf Baechle 49cf3f29a1 i8253: Consolidate definitions of PIT_LATCH
x86 defines PIT_LATCH as LATCH which in <linux/timex.h> is defined as
((CLOCK_TICK_RATE + HZ/2) / HZ) and <asm/timex.h> again defines
CLOCK_TICK_RATE as PIT_TICK_RATE.

MIPS defines PIT_LATCH as LATCH which in <linux/timex.h> is defined as
((CLOCK_TICK_RATE + HZ/2) / HZ) and <asm/timex.h> again defines
CLOCK_TICK_RATE as 1193182.

ARM defines PITCH_LATCH as ((PIT_TICK_RATE + HZ / 2) / HZ) - and that's
the sanest thing and equivalent to above definitions so use that as the
new definition in <linux/i8253.h>.

Linus Torvalds 571503e100 Merge branch 'setns'

Eric W. Biederman 7b21fddd08 ns: Wire up the setns system call
32bit and 64bit on x86 are tested and working. The rest I have looked
at closely and I can't find any problems.

setns is an easy system call to wire up. It just takes two ints so I
don't expect any weird architecture porting problems.

While doing this I have noticed that we have some architectures that are
very slow to get new system calls. cris seems to be the slowest where
the last system calls wired up were preadv and pwritev. avr32 is weird
in that recvmmsg was wired up but never declared in unistd.h. frv is
behind with perf_event_open being the last syscall wired up. On h8300
the last system call wired up was epoll_wait. On m32r the last system
call wired up was fallocate. mn10300 has recvmmsg as the last system
call wired up. The rest seem to at least have syncfs wired up which was
new in the 2.6.39.

v2: Most of the architecture support added by Daniel Lezcano <dlezcano@fr.ibm.com>
v3: ported to v2.6.36-rc4 by: Eric W. Biederman <ebiederm@xmission.com>
v4: Moved wiring up of the system call to another patch
v5: ported to v2.6.39-rc6
v6: rebased onto parisc-next and net-next to avoid syscall conflicts.
v7: ported to Linus's latest post 2.6.39 tree.

This also fixes a bug in the mtx-1_wdt driver which was introduced by
commit 6ea8115bb6
("Convert mtx1 wdt to be a platform device and use generic GPIO API")
before this patch mtx-1_wdt only modified GPIO215, the patch then
used the gpio resource information as bit index into the GPIO2 register
but the conversion to the GPIO API didn't realize that.
With this patch the drivers original behaviour is restored and GPIO15
is left alone.

John Crispin 8ec6d93508 MIPS: Lantiq: add SoC specific code for XWAY family
Add support for the Lantiq XWAY family of Mips24KEc SoCs.

* Danube (PSB50702)
* Twinpass (PSB4000)
* AR9 (PSB50802)
* Amazon SE (PSB5061)

The Amazon SE is a lightweight SoC and has no PCI as well as a different
clock. We split the code out into seperate files to handle this.

The GPIO pins on the SoCs are multi function and there are several bits
we can use to configure the pins. To be as compatible as possible to
GPIOLIB we add a function

int lq_gpio_request(unsigned int pin, unsigned int alt0,
        unsigned int alt1, unsigned int dir, const char *name);

which lets you configure the 2 "alternate function" bits. This way drivers like
PCI can make use of GPIOLIB without a cubersome wrapper.

The PLL code inside arch/mips/lantiq/xway/clk-xway.c is voodoo to me. It was
taken from a 2.4.20 source tree and was never really changed by me since then.

John Crispin 171bb2f19e MIPS: Lantiq: Add initial support for Lantiq SoCs
Add initial support for Mips based SoCs made by Lantiq. This series will add
support for the XWAY family.

The series allows booting a minimal system using a initramfs or NOR. Missing
drivers and support for Amazon and GPON family will be provided in a later
series.
