Mark Brown 5fb4d38b19 mfd: Move WM831x to generic IRQ
Replace the wm831x-local IRQ infrastructure with genirq, allowing access
to the diagnostic infrastructure of genirq and allowing us to implement
interrupt support for the GPIOs. The switchover is done within the
wm831x specific IRQ API, further patches will convert the individual
drivers to use genirq directly.

Mark Brown 6a6127462e mfd: Mask and unmask wm8350 IRQs on request and free
Bring the WM8350 IRQ API more in line with the generic IRQ API by
masking and unmasking interrupts as they are requested and freed.
This is mostly just a case of deleting the mask and unmask calls
from the individual drivers.

The RTC driver is changed to mask the periodic IRQ after requesting
it rather than only unmasking the alarm IRQ. If the periodic IRQ
fires in the period where it is reqested then there will be a
spurious notification but there should be no serious consequences
from this.

The CODEC drive is changed to explicitly disable headphone jack
detection prior to requesting the IRQs. This will avoid the IRQ
firing with no jack set up.

Antonio Ospite b9f96b5dcb mfd: ezx-pcap: Don't pass pcap pointer as subdev drvdata.
Abusing subdev drvdata is not needed anymore, as all pcap subdevs are now

Ben Dooks b45440c33a mfd: Allow configuration of VDCDC2 for tps65010
Add function to allow the configuation fo the VDCDC2 register by
external users, to allow changing of the standard and low-power
running modes.

This is needed, for example, for the Simtec IM2440D20 where we need
to use the low-power mode to shutdown the LDO/DCDC that are not needed
during suspend (saving substantial power) and the runtime use of the
low-power mode to change VCore.

Amit Kucheria 53cf9a605d mfd: Fix more undefined twl4030-power resconfig value checks
Based on Aaro's previous fix, this needs to be fixed for the newly added

Since platform_device_add_data copies the passed data, the allocated

or put it onto the stack. But since the pcf50633 child devices can rely on
beeing children of the pcf50633 core device it's much more elegant to get access

Mark Brown 0c7229f93a mfd: Convert WM835x IRQ handling to use a data table
Rather than open coding individual IRQs in each function which
manipulates them store data for IRQs in a table which is then
referenced in the users.

This is a substantial code shrink and should be a performance win in
cases where only a single IRQ goes off at once since instead of
reading four of the second level IRQ registers for each interrupt
we read only the sub-registers which have had an interrupt flagged.

Peter Ujfalusi 3066eec68d MFD: twl4030: add twl4030_codec MFD as a new child to the core
New MFD child to twl4030 MFD device.

Reason for the twl4030_codec MFD: the vibra control is actually in the codec
part of the twl4030. If both the vibra and the audio functionality is needed
from the twl4030 at the same time, than they need to control the codec power
and APLL at the same time without breaking the other driver.
Also these two has to be able to work without the need for the other driver.

Amit Kucheria 75a7456539 mfd: Print warning for twl4030 out-of-order script loading
When the sleep script is loaded before the wakeup script, there is a
chance that the system might go to sleep before the wakeup script
loading is completed. This will lead to a system that does not wakeup
and has been observed to cause non-booting boards.

Various options were considered to solve this problem, including
modification of the core twl4030 power code to be smart enough to
reorder the loading of the scripts. But it felt too over-engineered.

Hence this patch just warns the DPS script developer so that they may be
reordered in the board-code itself.

to read values from the ADC.

An internal reference voltage is provided to allow callibration of
the ADC. This is used to calibrate the device at startup.

The hardware also supports continuous readings and digital comparators.
These are not yet supported by the driver.

Mark Brown 7d4d0a3e73 mfd: Add WM831x interrupt support
The WM831x includes an interrupt controller managing interrupts for
the various functions on the chip. This patch adds support for the
core interrupt block on the device.

Ideally this would be supported by genirq, particularly for the
GPIOs, but currently genirq is unable to cope with controllers on
interrupt driven buses so we cut'n'paste the generic interface.
Once genirq is able to cope chips like this it should be a case
of filing the prefixes off the code and redoing wm831x-irq.c to
move over.

Provide basic support for MFDs having multiple cells of a given
type with different IDs by adding an id to the mfd_cell structure
and then adding that to the id passed in to mfd_add_devices().

As it stands this approach requires that MFDs using this feature
deal with ensuring that there aren't any ID collisions resulting
from multiple MFDs of the same type being instantiated. This needs
to happen with the existing code too, but with this approach there
is a knock on effect on the IDs for non-duplicated devices.

Paul Fertser bd8ef10261 mfd: revise locking for pcf50633 ADC
Current implementation is prone to races, this patch attempts to remove all
but one (in pcf50633_adc_sync_read).

The idea is that we need to guard the queue access only on inserting and
removing items. If we insert and there're no more items in the queue it
means that the last irq already happened and we need to trigger ADC
manually. If not, then the next conversion will be triggered by the irq
handler upon completion of the previous.

Russell King 1cef8e4107 mfd: twl4030 irq fixes
The TWL4030 IRQ handler has a bug which leads to spinlock lock-up. It is
calling the 'unmask' function in a process context. :The mask/unmask/ack
functions are only designed to be called from the IRQ handler code,
or the proper API interfaces found in linux/interrupt.h.

Also there is no need to have IRQ chaining mechanism. The right way to
handle this is to claim the parent interrupt as a standard interrupt
and arrange for handle_twl4030_pih to take care of the rest of the devices.

Mark Brown 9dfd338198 mfd: Use bulk read to fill WM8350 register cache
Some I2C controllers have high overheads for setting up I2C operations
which makes the register cache setup on startup excessively slow since

Mark Brown 0081e8020e leds: Add WM8350 LED driver
The voltage and current regulators on the WM8350 AudioPlus PMIC can be
used in concert to provide a power efficient LED driver. This driver
implements support for this within the standard LED class.

Platform initialisation code should configure the LED hardware in the
init callback provided by the WM8350 core driver. The callback should
use wm8350_isink_set_flash(), wm8350_dcdc25_set_mode() and
wm8350_dcdc_set_slot() to configure the operating parameters of the
regulators for their hardware and then then use wm8350_register_led() to
instantiate the LED driver.

David Brownell 0931a4c6db mfd: dm355evm msp430 driver
Basic MFD framework for the MSP430 microcontroller firmware used
on the dm355evm board:

 - Provides an interface for other drivers: register read/write
   utilities, and register declarations.

 - Directly exports:
     * Many signals through the GPIO framework
         + LEDs
         + SW6 through gpio sysfs
+ NTSC/nPAL jumper through gpio sysfs
+ ... more could be added later, e.g. MMC signals
     * Child devices:
+ LEDs, via leds-gpio child (and default triggers)
+ RTC, via rtc-dm355evm child device
+ Buttons and IR control, via dm355evm_keys

 - Supports power-off system call. Use the reset button to power
the board back up; the power supply LED will be on, but the
MSP430 waits to re-activate the regulators.

 - On probe() this:
     * Announces firmware revision
     * Turns off the banked LEDs
     * Exports the resources noted above
     * Hooks the power-off support
     * Muxes tvp5146 -or- imager for video input

Unless the new tvp514x driver (tracked for mainline) is configured,
this assumes that some custom imager driver handles video-in.

This completely ignores the registers reporting the output voltages
on the various power supplies. Someone could add a hwmon interface
if that seems useful.

Initial code to create twl4030 voltage regulator devices, using
the new regulator framework. Note that this now starts to care
what name is used to declare the TWL chip:

 - TWL4030 is the "old" chip; newer ones have a bigger variety

 - TWL5030 is the core "new" chip; TPS65950 is its catalog version.

 - The TPS65930 and TPS65920 are cost-reduced catalog versions of
TWL5030 parts ... fewer regulators, no battery charger, etc.

Board-specific regulator configuration should be provided, listing
which regulators are used and their constraints (e.g. 1.8V only).

Russell King dcea83adc6 [ARM] Hide ISA DMA API when ISA_DMA_API is unset
When ISA_DMA_API is unset, we're not implementing the ISA DMA API,
so there's no point in publishing the prototypes via asm/dma.h, nor
including the machine dependent parts of that API.

This allows us to remove a lot of mach/dma.h files which don't contain
any useful code. Unfortunately though, some platforms put their own
private non-ISA definitions into mach/dma.h, so we leave these behind
and fix the appropriate #include statments.

David Brownell a30d46c042 mfd: twl4030 IRQ handling update
- Move it into a separate file; clean and streamline it
 - Restructure the init code for reuse during secondary dispatch
 - Support both levels (primary, secondary) of IRQ dispatch
 - Use a workqueue for irq mask/unmask and trigger configuration

Code for two subchips currently share that secondary handler code.
One is the power subchip; its IRQs are now handled by this core,
courtesy of this patch. The other is the GPIO module, which will
be supported through a later patch.

There are also minor changes to the header file, mostly related
to GPIO support; nothing yet in mainline cares about those. A
few references to OMAP-specific symbols are disabled; when they
can all be removed, the TWL4030 support ceases being OMAP-specific.

This merges branches irq/genirq, irq/sparseirq-v4, timers/hpet-percpu

The sparseirq branch is just preliminary groundwork: no sparse IRQs are

while keeping the old way intact as well (the new APIs map 1:1 to
irq_desc[]). The 'real' sparse IRQ support will then be a relatively
small patch ontop of this - with a v2.6.29 merge target.

David Brownell 9297a0e7e0 mfd: twl4030-core irq simplification
Simplify twl4030 IRQ handling by removing a needless custom flow
handler. The top level IRQs, from the PIH, are well suited for
handle_simple_irq() ... they can't be acked or masked.

Switching resolves some issues with how IRQs were dispatched.
Notably, abuse of desc->status, IRQ accounting, and handling
of various faults.

In short, use standard genirq code.

Drivers that request_irq() to the PIH will need to pay more
attention to things like setting IRQF_DISABLED (since it's
no longer ignored), and making I2C calls from handlers (you'll
need a lockdep workaround).

David Brownell a603a7fa87 mfd: TWL4030 core driver
This patch adds the core of the TWL4030 driver, which supports
chips including the TPS65950. These chips are multi-function; see

  http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/tps65950.html

Public specs are in the works. For now, the block diagram on
the second page of the datasheet is fairly informative.

There are some known issues with this core code. Most notably,
the IRQ dispatching needs simplification (to use more of genirq),
generalization (integrating support for secondary IRQ dispatch
as well as primary, and removing the build dependency on OMAP),
and then probably updating to leverage threaded IRQ support
(expected to arrive in mainline "soon").

Once the core is in mainline, drivers for other parts of this
chip can follow its lead and start swimming upstream too.

Mark Brown 1d9f9f0400 mfd: Core support for the WM8400 AudioPlus HiFi CODEC and PMU
The WM8400 is a highly integrated audio CODEC and power management unit
optimised for use in mobile multimedia applications. This patch adds
core support for the WM8400 to the MFD subsystem.

Both I2C and SPI access are supported by the hardware but currently only
I2C access is implemented. The code is structured to allow SPI support
to be slotted in later.

This patch splits ucb1400_ts into ucb1400_ts and ucb1400_core.
Since this chip supports more features than only touchscreen,
it was necessary to prepare it for feature addition. The
previous functionality is preserved by applying this patch.

Samuel Ortiz 1c2c30acc5 mfd: have TMIO drivers and subdevices depend on ARM
The TMIO chips are only found (and thus tested) on ARM machines.
Moreover, we don't want the TMIO cells to be built if one of the TMIO
driver is not selected (which indirectly make the TMIO cells drivers
depend on ARM as well).
