For powerpc64, this test currently fails due to a mismatch in the expected output. This can be observed on a powerpc64le system running Fedora 27 as shown below. # perf test -v "probe libc's inet_pton & backtrace it with ping" Before: 62: probe libc's inet_pton & backtrace it with ping : --- start --- test child forked, pid 23948 ping 23965 [003] 71136.075084: probe_libc:inet_pton: (7fff996aaf28) 7fff996aaf28 __GI___inet_pton+0x8 (/usr/lib64/libc-2.26.so) 7fff9965fa54 gaih_inet.constprop.7+0xf44 (/usr/lib64/libc-2.26.so) FAIL: expected backtrace entry 2 "getaddrinfo\+0x[[:xdigit:]]+[[:space:]]\(/usr/lib64/libc-2.26.so\)$" got "7fff9965fa54 gaih_inet.constprop.7+0xf44 (/usr/lib64/libc-2.26.so)" test child finished with -1 ---- end ---- probe libc's inet_pton & backtrace it with ping: FAILED! Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
