The way the line wrapping was done turns out to be quite undesirable, because it often leaves multiple parameters on the same line. If we later need to add or remove individual parameters, then it leaves us having to redo line wrapping. This commit changes the line wrapping so that every single "-param value" is one its own new line. If the "value" is still too long, then we break on ',' or ':' or ' ' as needed. This means that when we come to add / remove parameters from the test files line, the patch diffs will only ever show a single line added/removed which will greatly simplify review work. qemu: command: Override HOME variable for system QEMU By default, qemu user's home dir points to '/' which shouldn't be used at all. We therefore pass the HOME variable from the current variable iff not running as SUID, which means that for systemd we never set it. tests: qemuxml: Remove prehistoric machine types from legacy tests None of the tests depend on anything that the machine type would influence. This will allow us to drop the very old machine type from the non-real-data tests. If something depends on the machine type it should be tested with real data rather than this hack. qemu: Always assume QEMU_CAPS_REALTIME_MLOCK The '-realtime mlock' cmd line argument was introduced in QEMU commit v1.5.0-rc0~190 which matches minimal QEMU version we require. Therefore, the capability will always be present. Apparently, nearly none of our xml2argv test cases had the capability hence slightly bigger change under qemuxml2argvdata/. There's a LOT of test fallout as we did not use capabilities close enough to upstream for many of our tests. Several tests had a 'bootindex' variant. qemu: Forbid non-raw images for disk type='lun' with vitio-blk frontend Historically the virtio-blk frontend by default enabled SCSI emulation and tried to do SCSI command passthrough. As this was enabled by default there's a fallback mechanism in place in cases when the backend doesn't support SCSI for any reason. This is not the case when disk type=lun is used with 'scsi-block' via 'virtio-scsi'. We did not restrict configurations when the user picks 'qcow2' or any other format as format of the disk, in which case the emulation is disabled as such configuration doesn't make sense. This patch unifies the approach so that 'raw' is required both when used via 'virtio-blk' and 'virtio-scsi' so that the user is presented with the expected configuration. Note that use of <disk type='lun'> is already very restrictive as it requires a block device or iSCSI storage. Additionally the scsi emulation is now deprecated by qemu with virtio-blk as it conflicts with virtio-1 and the alternative is to use 'virtio-scsi' which performs better and is along for a very long time. I've cleaned up the tests directory in the past (see commits bd6c46f, 3b750d1), but new long lines have been introduced in the meantime. Why 90 instead of 80? Because there were too many tests on the fringe edge, and I didn't want to edit that many files. Add a syntax check to prevent future long lines. * cfg.mk (sc_prohibit_long_lines): New rule. * tests/qemuxml2argvdata/qemuxml2argv-*.args: Split lines of any file with content longer than 90 columns. * tests/storagevolxml2argvdata/*.argv: Likewise. Valid values of "rawio" attribute are "yes" and "no". rawio='yes' indicates the disk is desirous of CAP_SYS_RAWIO. If you specify the following XML: <disk type='block' device='lun' rawio='yes'> ... </disk> the domain will be granted CAP_SYS_RAWIO. (of course, the domain have to be executed with root privilege) NOTE: - "rawio" attribute is only valid when device='lun' - At the moment, any other disks you won't use rawio can use rawio.
