Thomas Gleixner a5a1d1c291 clocksource: Use a plain u64 instead of cycle_t
There is no point in having an extra type for extra confusion. u64 is
unambiguous.

Conversion was done with the following coccinelle script:

Krzysztof Kozlowski 00085f1efa dma-mapping: use unsigned long for dma_attrs
The dma-mapping core and the implementations do not change the DMA
attributes passed by pointer. Thus the pointer can point to const data.
However the attributes do not have to be a bitfield. Instead unsigned
long will do fine:

1. This is just simpler. Both in terms of reading the code and setting
attributes. Instead of initializing local attributes on the stack
and passing pointer to it to dma_set_attr(), just set the bits.

2. It brings safeness and checking for const correctness because the
   attributes are passed by value.

James Hogan 32eb6e8bee MIPS: Netlogic: Fix CP0_EBASE redefinition warnings
A couple of netlogic assembly files define CP0_EBASE to $15, the same as
CP0_PRID in mipsregs.h, and use it for accessing both CP0_PRId and
CP0_EBase registers. However commit 609cf6f229 ("MIPS: CPS: Early
debug using an ns16550-compatible UART") added a different definition of
CP0_EBASE to mipsregs.h, which included a register select of 1. This
causes harmless build warnings like the following:

  arch/mips/netlogic/common/reset.S:53:0: warning: "CP0_EBASE" redefined
  #define CP0_EBASE $15
  ^
  In file included from arch/mips/netlogic/common/reset.S:41:0:
./arch/mips/include/asm/mipsregs.h:63:0: note: this is the location of the previous definition
  #define CP0_EBASE $15, 1
  ^

Update the code to use the definitions from mipsregs.h for accessing
both registers.

Christoph Hellwig 6894258eda dma-mapping: consolidate dma_{alloc,free}_{attrs,coherent}
Since 2009 we have a nice asm-generic header implementing lots of DMA API
functions for architectures using struct dma_map_ops, but unfortunately
it's still missing a lot of APIs that all architectures still have to
duplicate.

This series consolidates the remaining functions, although we still need
arch opt outs for two of them as a few architectures have very
non-standard implementations.

This patch (of 5):

The coherent DMA allocator works the same over all architectures supporting
dma_map operations.

This patch consolidates them and converges the minor differences:

 - the debug_dma helpers are now called from all architectures, including
those that were previously missing them
 - dma_alloc_from_coherent and dma_release_from_coherent are now always
called from the generic alloc/free routines instead of the ops
dma-mapping-common.h always includes dma-coherent.h to get the defintions
for them, or the stubs if the architecture doesn't support this feature
 - checks for ->alloc / ->free presence are removed. There is only one
magic instead of dma_map_ops without them (mic_dma_ops) and that one
   is x86 only anyway.

Besides that only x86 needs special treatment to replace a default devices
if none is passed and tweak the gfp_flags. An optional arch hook is provided
for that.

Alex Smith 4ace6139bf MIPS: SMP: Don't increment irq_count multiple times for call function IPIs
The majority of SMP platforms handle their IPIs through do_IRQ()
which calls irq_{enter/exit}(). When a call function IPI is received,
smp_call_function_interrupt() is called which also calls
irq_{enter,exit}(), meaning irq_count is raised twice.

When tick broadcasting is used (which is implemented via a call
function IPI), this incorrectly causes all CPU idle time on the core
receiving broadcast ticks to be accounted as time spent servicing
IRQs, as account_process_tick() will account as such if irq_count is
greater than 1. This results in 100% CPU usage being reported on a
core which receives its ticks via broadcast.

This patch removes the SMP smp_call_function_interrupt() wrapper which
calls irq_{enter,exit}(). Platforms which handle their IPIs through
do_IRQ() now call generic_smp_call_function_interrupt() directly to
avoid incrementing irq_count a second time. Platforms which don't
(loongson, sgi-ip27, sibyte) call generic_smp_call_function_interrupt()
wrapped in irq_{enter,exit}().

Just check whether CONFIG_SATA_AHCI is defined for this build, and if
that is the case, add these objects to the list of built-in object

Florian Fainelli 717ce64639 MIPS: Netlogic: handle modular USB case
Commit 1004165f34 ("MIPS: Netlogic: USB support for XLP") and then
commit 9eac3591e7 ("MIPS: Netlogic: Add support for USB on XLP2xx")
added usb-init and usb-init-xlp2 as objects to build when CONFIG_USB is
enabled.

If CONFIG_USB is made modular, these two files will also get built as
modules (obj-m), which will result in the following linking failure:

Pull MIPS updates from Ralf Baechle:
 - three fixes for 3.15 that didn't make it in time
 - limited Octeon 3 support.
 - paravirtualization support
 - improvment to platform support for Netlogix SOCs.
 - add support for powering down the Malta eval board in software
 - add many instructions to the in-kernel microassembler.
 - add support for the BPF JIT.
 - minor cleanups of the BCM47xx code.
 - large cleanup of math emu code resulting in significant code size
reduction, better readability of the code and more accurate
   emulation.
 - improvments to the MIPS CPS code.
 - support C3 power status for the R4k count/compare clock device.
 - improvments to the GIO support for older SGI workstations.
 - increase number of supported CPUs to 256; this can be reached on
   certain embedded multithreaded ccNUMA configurations.

Rob Herring e1b77baed6 mips: xlp: copy built-in DTB out of init section
The existing code is buggy because built-in DTBs are in init memory.
It is also broken because the reserved bootmem was then freed after
unflattening, but the unflattened tree points to data in the flat tree.
Fix this by using the unflatten_and_copy_device_tree function.

This removes all accesses to FDT header data by the arch code.
