Dan Williams 5fd164e96c libertas: simplify and clean up association/start/join setup
Some of the parameters for association/join/start commands aren't
used (like the FH and CF IEs for IBSS, and the FH IE for BSS), so
get rid of their unions to reduce indirection. Also clean up
structure names for kernel style.

Sebastian Andrzej Siewior f488b72de5 net/libertas: make SPI interface big endian aware
The comment (which I remove) says that the translation is done SPI routines.
IMHO this can't work because the SPI driver does not know whether the incomming
bytes are part of the registers/bytes which need to be flipped or part of
packet data which has to remain untouched.
While adding le helpers I also removed spu_write_u32() which has no users.

Bing Zhao 2c7e57981f libertas: read SD8688 firmware status from new register
The scratch pad register is used to store firmware status after
firmware is downloaded and initialized. After firmware status is
verified OK, the same register is used to store RX packet length.
Hence the firmware status code is no longer valid afterwards.

SD8688 firmware introduces a new register for firmware status
which will never be overwritten.

Also add scratch_reg variable to if_sdio_card structure and
initialize it based on the model of the card during probe.

Bing Zhao d26285f873 libertas: implement function init/shutdown commands for SD8688
SD8688 is a WLAN/Bluetooth combo chip and both functions are supported
in a single firmware image. FUNC_INIT and FUNC_SHUTDOWN commands are
implemented to utilize the multiple function feature.

When SD8688 card is inserted, the firmware image should be downloaded
only once through either WLAN function (Libertas driver) or Bluetooth
function (Bluetooth driver).

This patch adds function init/shutdown for SD8688 WLAN function only.

Bing Zhao b136a1414c libertas: get SD8688 rx length with one CMD52
Usually, the 16-bit rx length is read from scratch pad registers
with two CMD52 transactions:
SD8385: IF_SDIO_SCRATCH_OLD (0x80fe/0x80ff)
SD8686/SD8688:	IF_SDIO_SCRATCH (0x34/0x35)

Alternatively, SD8688 firmware offers an enhanced method for driver
to read an 8-bit rx length (in units) with a single CMD52:
IF_SDIO_RX_UNIT 0x43 is read one time after firmware is ready.
IF_SDIO_RX_LEN 0x42 is read every time when rx interrupt is received.

libertas: add support for Marvell SD8688 chip

Use RxPD->pkt_ptr to locate eth803 header in the packet
received since SD8688/v10 firmware allows a gap between
RxPD and eth803 header.

Set SDIO block size to 256 for CMD53.
The maximum block size for SD8688 WLAN function is set
to 512 in TPLFE_MAX_BLK_SIZE. But using 512 as block size
results upto 2K bytes data (4 blocks) being transferred
and causes buffer overflow in firmware.

Both changes above are backward compatible with earlier
firmware versions for SD8385/SD8686.

The SDIO_DEVICE_IDs for SD8688 chip are added in

Javier Cardona 9c31fd635d libertas: Reduce the WPA key installation time.
WPA requires that the PTK is installed immediately after the 4-way handshake
in order to properly decrypt the subsequent incoming EAPOL-GTK frame. If the
PTK is not enabled by the time the EAPOL-GTK frame arrives, the frame is
dropped and the supplicant does not receive the group key.

This will happen with fast Access Points that send the EAPOL-GTK frame before
the suplicant has successfully installed and enabled the PTK. To mitigate
this situation, this patch simplifies and accelerates the SIOCSIWENCODEEXT
execution.

Pierre Ossman ad3868b2ec mmc, sdio: helper function for transfer padding

Holger Schurig a01f545040 libertas: fix sleep confirmation
This fixes an issus that made "iwconfig eth1 power on" non-working.
When we get a "PS sleep" event, we have to confirm this to the firmware.
The confirm happens with a command, but this command is special: the
firmware won't send us a response. if_cs_host_to_card() is setting
priv->dnld_sent anyway, so this variable stayed at DNLD_DATA_SENT and
was never cleared back.

Now I put the special knowledge that the CMD_802_11_PS_MODE with
CMD_SUBCMD_SLEEP_CONFIRMED doesn't need to need a response by directly
clearing the dnld_sent state in lbs_send_confirmsleep().

[PATCH, take 2] libertas: reduce command retry time

In the normal case, an unsuccessful command would be retried for 10*5 seconds,

David Woodhouse 75bf45a7b4 libertas: fix multicast filtering on eth and msh interfaces
We weren't properly handling multicast on the mesh interface. Fix that,
which involves setting up the hardware to use the union of dev->mc_list
for both eth%d and msh%d devices.

This means we can't do it directly from ->set_multicast_list() because
we'd need to lock the other device to read its list, and we can't do
that because it might deadlock. So punt the actual work to keventd.

Also, invoke the same when taking an interface down; for some reason the
core calls ->set_multicast_list while IFF_UP is still set in dev->flags
when we're taking it down, so its addresses don't get removed then.

We also convert MAC_MULTICAST_ADR to a direct command while we're at it,
removing one more entry from the big switch statement in the deprecated
lbs_prepare_and_send_command() function.

Using the deprecated lbs_prepare_and_send_command() function for a

The mesh stats bug, where we converted MESH_ACCESS to a direct command
but accidentally missed one user which was still trying to do it through
lbs_prepare_and_send_command(), would have been caught a lot quicker if
we'd done this sooner. Such bugs aren't entirely unlikely in future too,

This patch (co-developed by Dan Williams and Holger Schurig) uses a kfifo
object for events and a swapping buffer scheme for the command response to
preserve the zero-copy semantics of the CF driver and keep memory usage low.
The main thread should only ever touch the buffer indexed by priv->resp_idx,
while the interface code is free to write to the second buffer, then swap
priv->resp_idx under the driver spinlock. The firmware specs only permit
one in-flight command, so there will only ever be one command response to
process at a time.

Holger Schurig f539f2efe9 libertas: convert sleep/wake config direct commands
Confirm sleep event: they come very regularly, eventually several times per
second. Therefore we want to send the config command as fast as possible.

byte sequence to be sent to the hardware is the same for all interfaces. So
this patch make this an extern structure, initialized at module load time.

proprietary interfaces for scanning. And, besides, the scan result couldn't
