Since there are more IOT2040 variants with identical hardware but
different asset tags, the asset tag matching should be adjusted to
support them.
As only the IOT2040 variants have the Exar chip on board, matching on
their board name is enough. In the future there will be no other devices
with the "SIMATIC IOT2000" DMI board name but different hardware.

There were a few straggling files under drivers/tty/ that did not have
any SPDX identifier either because they entered the tree recently, or
they somehow missed the mass-tagging of commit b24413180f ("License
cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license")
This commit follows the same rule as b24413180f ("License cleanup: add
SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license") where files
without any specified license in them fall under GPL-2.0 as the correct
license for the individual file. Add that identifier to these remaining
files so that we don't have to guess at the license of them in the
future.

Intel IOMMU, when enabled, tries to find the domain of the device,
assuming it's a PCI one, during DMA operations, such as mapping or
unmapping. Since we are splitting the actual PCI device to couple of
children via MFD framework (see drivers/mfd/intel-lpss.c for details),
the DMA device appears to be a platform one, and thus not an actual one
that performs DMA. In a such situation IOMMU can't find or allocate
a proper domain for its operations. As a result, all DMA operations are
failed.
In order to fix this, supply parent of the platform device
to the DMA engine framework and fix filter functions accordingly.
We may rely on the fact that parent is a real PCI device, because no
other configuration is present in the wild.

There are two other drivers that bind to mrvl,mmp-uart and both of them
assume register shift of 2 bits. There are device trees that lack the
property and rely on that assumption.
If this driver wins the race to bind to those devices, it should behave
the same as the older deprecated driver.

As has been reported the National Instruments serial cards have broken
PCI class.
The commit 7d8905d064
("serial: 8250_pci: Enable device after we check black list")
made the PCI class check mandatory for the case when device is listed in
a quirk list.
Make PCI class test non fatal to allow broken card be enumerated.

8250_omap driver uses clock-frequency DT property to obtain functional
clk frequency. This is not ideal as users need to calculate functional
clk frequency offline and populate it in DT.
Therefore add support to obtain functional clock frequency using clk
APIs when clock-frequency DT property is not defined.

introduces is_private property in uncertain understanding what does it mean.
First of all, documentation defines DMA_PRIVATE capability as
Documentation/crypto/async-tx-api.txt:
The DMA_PRIVATE capability flag is used to tag dma devices that should not be
used by the general-purpose allocator. It can be set at initialization time
if it is known that a channel will always be private. Alternatively,
it is set when dma_request_channel() finds an unused "public" channel.
A couple caveats to note when implementing a driver and consumer:
1/ Once a channel has been privately allocated it will no longer be
considered by the general-purpose allocator even after a call to
dma_release_channel().
2/ Since capabilities are specified at the device level a dma_device with
multiple channels will either have all channels public, or all channels
private.
Documentation/driver-api/dmaengine/provider.rst:
- DMA_PRIVATE
The devices only supports slave transfers, and as such isn't available
for async transfers.
The capability had been introduced by the commit 59b5ec2144
("dmaengine: introduce dma_request_channel and private channels")
and some code didn't changed from that times ever.
Taking into consideration above and the fact that on all known platforms
Synopsys DesignWare DMA engine is attached to serve slave transfers,
the DMA_PRIVATE capability must be enabled for this device unconditionally.
Otherwise, as rightfully noticed in drivers/dma/at_xdmac.c:

because of of a caveats mentioned in above documentation excerpts.
So, remove conditional around DMA_PRIVATE followed by removal leftovers.

of the DMA controller are supposed to serve memory-to-memory like operations.
For example, EP93xx has two controllers, one of which can only perform
memory-to-memory transfers
Note, this change doesn't affect dmatest to be able to test such controllers.

Here is the large TTY/Serial driver set of patches for 4.21-rc1.
A number of small serial driver changes along with some good tty core
fixes for long-reported issues with locking. There is also a new
console font added to the tree, for high-res screens, so that should be
helpful for many.
The last patch in the series is a revert of an older one in the tree, it
came late but it resolves a reported issue that linux-next was having
for some people.
Full details are in the shortlog, and all of these, with the exception
of the revert, have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
issues.

Commit f6aa5beb45 ("serial: 8250: Fix clearing FIFOs in RS485 mode
again") makes a change to FIFO clearing code which its commit message
suggests was intended to be specific to use with RS485 mode, however:
1) The change made does not just affect __do_stop_tx_rs485(), it also
affects other uses of serial8250_clear_fifos() including paths for
starting up, shutting down or auto-configuring a port regardless of
whether it's an RS485 port or not.
2) It makes the assumption that resetting the FIFOs is a no-op when
FIFOs are disabled, and as such it checks for this case & explicitly
avoids setting the FIFO reset bits when the FIFO enable bit is
clear. A reading of the PC16550D manual would suggest that this is
OK since the FIFO should automatically be reset if it is later
enabled, but we support many 16550-compatible devices and have never
required this auto-reset behaviour for at least the whole git era.
Starting to rely on it now seems risky, offers no benefit, and
indeed breaks at least the Ingenic JZ4780's UARTs which reads
garbage when the RX FIFO is enabled if we don't explicitly reset it.
3) By only resetting the FIFOs if they're enabled, the behaviour of
serial8250_do_startup() during boot now depends on what the value of
FCR is before the 8250 driver is probed. This in itself seems
questionable and leaves us with FCR=0 & no FIFO reset if the UART
was used by 8250_early, otherwise it depends upon what the
bootloader left behind.
4) Although the naming of serial8250_clear_fifos() may be unclear, it
is clear that callers of it expect that it will disable FIFOs. Both
serial8250_do_startup() & serial8250_do_shutdown() contain comments
to that effect, and other callers explicitly re-enable the FIFOs
after calling serial8250_clear_fifos(). The premise of that patch
that disabling the FIFOs is incorrect therefore seems wrong.
For these reasons, this reverts commit f6aa5beb45 ("serial: 8250: Fix
clearing FIFOs in RS485 mode again").

When a serial port gets faulty or gets flooded with inputs, its interrupt
handler starts to work double time to get the characters to the workqueue
for the tty layer to handle them. When this busy time on the serial/tty
subsystem happens during boot, where it is also busy on the userspace
trying to initialise, some processes can continuously get preempted
and will be on hold until the interrupts subside.
The fix is to backoff on processing received characters for a specified
amount of time when an input overrun is seen (received a new character
before the previous one is processed). This only stops receive and will
continue to transmit characters to serial port. After the backoff period
is done, it receive will be re-enabled. This is optional and will only
be enabled by setting 'overrun-throttle-ms' in the dts.

serial8250_register_8250_port calls uart_config_port, which calls
config_port on the port before it tries to power on the port. So we need
the port to be on before calling serial8250_register_8250_port. Change
the code to always do a runtime resume in probe before registering port,
and always do a runtime suspend in remove.
This basically reverts the change in commit 68e5fc4a25 ("tty: serial:
8250_mtk: use pm_runtime callbacks for enabling"), but still use
pm_runtime callbacks.

It is way too easy to miss enabling SERIAL_OF_PLATFORM which would
result in the inability for the kernel to have a valid console device,
which can be seen with:
Warning: unable to open an initial console.
and then:
Run /init as init process
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00000100
Since SERIAL_OF_PLATFORM already depends on SERIAL_8250 && OF there
really is no drawback to defaulting this config to the value of
SERIAL_8250.

Currently, the DT-related settings are split out to
uniphier_of_serial_setup(), but it turned out to be not nice.
The next commit will add a DT property, but it will not fit in
the helper. Merge the helper into the probe function.

The FIFO size of the UART devices is 64 on almost all UniPhier SoCs
with the exception Pro4TV SoC (MN2WS0235), which used 128 FIFO size.
However, Pro4TV SoC was never upstreamed, and out of production.
So, this property has never been used in a useful way.
Let's remove old unused code.

The 8250 FIFOs indeed need to be cleared after stopping transmission in
RS485 mode without SER_RS485_RX_DURING_TX flag set. But there are two
problems with the approach taken by the previous patch from Fixes tag.
First, serial8250_clear_fifos() should clear fifos, but what it really
does is it enables the FIFOs unconditionally if present, clears them
and then sets the FCR register to zero, which effectively disables the
FIFOs. In case the FIFO is disabled, enabling it and clearing it makes
no sense and in fact can trigger misbehavior of the 8250 core. Moreover,
the FCR register may contain other FIFO configuration bits which may not
be writable unconditionally and writing them incorrectly can trigger
misbehavior of the 8250 core too. (ie. AM335x UART swallows the first
byte and retransmits the last byte twice because of this FCR write).
Second, serial8250_clear_and_reinit_fifos() completely reloads the FCR,
but what really has to happen at the end of the RS485 transmission is
clearing of the FIFOs and nothing else.
This patch repairs serial8250_clear_fifos() so that it really only
clears the FIFOs by operating on FCR[2:1] bits and leaves all the
other bits alone. It also undoes serial8250_clear_and_reinit_fifos()
from __do_stop_tx_rs485() as serial8250_clear_fifos() is sufficient.

In commit c58caaab3b ("serial: 8250: of: Defer probe on missing IRQ"), a
check was added for the UART driver being probed prior to the parent IRQ
controller.
Unfortunately this breaks certain boards which have no interrupt support,
like Huawei D03.
Indeed, the 8250 DT bindings state that interrupts should be supported -
not must.
To fix, switch from irq_of_parse_and_map() to of_irq_get(), which
does relay whether the IRQ host controller domain is not ready, i.e.
defer probe, instead of assuming it.

The printk() in serial8250_interrupt() was once hidden behind a debug
macro in commit f4f653e987 ("serial: 8250, disable "too much work"
messages") and reverted back in commit 12de375ec4 ("Revert "serial:
8250, disable "too much work" messages"").
This was introduced first in 0.99.13k with the "serial" driver itself
(and called pass_number with a limit of 64 and no print). In 1.1.13 it
was renamed to pass_counter and the printk was behind #if 0. In 1.1.94
the limit of 64 was increased to 256 and hidden behind
RS_ISR_PASS_LIMIT. With this change the #if 0 turned into #if 1. It
slowly become what we have today with a loop limit of 512.
Usually, that printk isn't hit. However on KVM with a busy UART and
overloaded host it might happen. It is also likely with threaded
interrupts and a task which preempts the interrupt handler.
If the UART has (legitimate) work to do and we break out of the loop,
nothing changes: the interrupt is most likely already pending in the
interrupt controller and we end up in the handler anyway. This printk is
hardly helping.
Older kernels also had a comment saying that a bad configuration might
lead to this but I don't see how that should happen because a wrongly
configured interrupt number would let the handler leave "early" with
IRQ_NONE and the spurious detected will handle that (weill since 2.6.11,
before that we had no spurious detector). In that case, we would never
loop that often here.
This loop looks like an optimisation in order to pull the bytes from the
FIFO which were received while we were already here instead of waiting
for the interrupt. This might have been a good idea while the CPUs were
slow and FIFOs small.
There are other serial driver in tree, like the amba-pl*, which also
have this kind of a loop but without the printk (and were based on this
driver).
Remove the printk which might trigger in otherwise valid situtations.

writing new driver subsystems these days... Anyway, major things here
are:
- new FSI driver subsystem, yet-another-powerpc low-level
hardware bus
- gnss, finally an in-kernel GPS subsystem to try to tame all of
the crazy out-of-tree drivers that have been floating around
for years, combined with some really hacky userspace
implementations. This is only for GNSS receivers, but you
have to start somewhere, and this is great to see.
Other than that, there are new slimbus drivers, new coresight drivers,
new fpga drivers, and loads of DT bindings for all of these and existing
drivers.

All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
issues.

The above commit causes userland application to no longer write
correctly its first write to a dumb terminal connected to /dev/ttyS0.
This commit seems to be the culprit. It's as though the TX FIFO is being
reset during that write. What should be displayed is:

The sleep wake-up refactoring that I introduced in
commit c7e1b40590 ("tty: serial: exar: Relocate sleep wake-up handling")
did not account for devices with a slave device on the expansion port.
This patch pokes the INT0 register in the slave device, if present, in
order to ensure that MSI interrupts don't get permanently "stuck"
because of a sleep wake-up interrupt as described here:

This also converts an ioread8() to readb() in order to provide visual
consistency with the MMIO-only accessors used elsewhere in the driver.

dw8250_set_termios() doesn't set baud rate if the arg "old ktermios" is
NULL. This happens during resume.

So the baud rate is not restored after S3 and breaks the apps who use
UART, for example, console and bluetooth etc.
We address this issue by setting the baud rate irrespective of arg
"old", just like the drivers for other 8250 IPs. This is tested with
Intel Broxton platform.

Since we have port name stored in struct uart_port, we better to use
that one instead of open coding.
This will make it one place source for easier maintenance or
modifications.
While here, replace printk_ratelimited(KERN_INFO ) by pr_info_ratelimited().

The Renesas RZ/N1 UART is based on the Synopsys DW UART, but has additional
registers for DMA. This patch does not address the changes required for DMA
support, it simply adds the compatible string.

For Synopsys DesignWare 8250 uart which version >= 4.00a, there's a
valid divisor latch fraction register. The fractional divisor width is
4bits ~ 6bits.
Now the preparation is done, it's easy to add the feature support.
This patch firstly tries to get the fractional divisor width during
probe, then setups dw specific get_divisor() and set_divisor() hook.

At over 4000 #includes, <linux/platform_device.h> is the 9th most
#included header file in the Linux kernel. It does not need
<linux/mod_devicetable.h>, so drop that header and explicitly add
<linux/mod_devicetable.h> to source files that need it.

After this patch, there are 225 files that use <linux/mod_devicetable.h>,
for a reduction of around 3900 times that <linux/mod_devicetable.h>
does not have to be read & parsed.

After the commit
7d8905d064 ("serial: 8250_pci: Enable device after we check black list")
pure serial multi-port cards, such as CH355, got blacklisted and thus
not being enumerated anymore. Previously, it seems, blacklisting them
was on purpose to shut up pciserial_init_one() about record duplication.
So, remove the entries from blacklist in order to get cards enumerated.

AM654 uses a UART controller that is compatible (partially) with
existing 8250 UART, however, has a few differences with respect to DMA

iot2040_rs485_config function to a new generic function used also for
other boards.
This allows using TIOCGRS485 and TIOCSRS485 on boards (such as mPCIe
serial IO modules) which are hard-wired to RS485 or have jumpers for
their configurations.

When using kgdb, you get an abort when accessing the UART registers.
This is because the driver has already entered runtime PM and so turned
off the bus clock needed to access the registers.
To fix this, set the capability indicating Runtime PM is active while idle.

I noticed that unused UARTs won't necessarily idle properly always
unless at least one byte tx transfer is done first.
After some debugging I narrowed down the problem to the scr register
dma configuration bits that need to be set before softreset for the
clocks to idle. Unless we do this, the module clkctrl idlest bits
may be set to 1 instead of 3 meaning the clock will never idle and
is blocking deeper idle states for the whole domain.
This might be related to the configuration done by the bootloader
or kexec booting where certain configurations cause the 8250 or
the clkctrl clock to jam in a way where setting of the scr bits
and reset is needed to clear it. I've tried diffing the 8250
registers for the various modes, but did not see anything specific.
So far I've only seen this on omap4 but I'm suspecting this might
also happen on the other clkctrl using SoCs considering they
already have a quirk enabled for UART_ERRATA_CLOCK_DISABLE.
Let's fix the issue by configuring scr before reset for basic dma
even if we don't use it. The scr register will be reset when we do
softreset few lines after, and we restore scr on resume. We should
do this for all the SoCs with UART_ERRATA_CLOCK_DISABLE quirk flag
set since the ones with UART_ERRATA_CLOCK_DISABLE are all based
using clkctrl similar to omap4.
Looks like both OMAP_UART_SCR_DMAMODE_1 | OMAP_UART_SCR_DMAMODE_CTL
bits are needed for the clkctrl to idle after a softreset.
And we need to add omap4 to also use the UART_ERRATA_CLOCK_DISABLE
for the related workaround to be enabled. This same compatible
value will also be used for omap5.

The Altera 16550 UART core supports FCR Rx Trigger Level setting,
but the port definition in the driver is missing the rxtrig_bytes
array specifying the trigger levels. Add the array to make the Rx
Trigger Level setting available on this type of 16550 UART.

Currently the 8250_of driver only supports MEM IO type
accesses.
Some development boards (Huawei D03, specifically) require
IO space access for 8250-compatible OF driver support, so
add it.
The modification is quite simple: just set the port iotype
and associated flags depending on the device address
resource type.

Although we populate the ->throttle and ->unthrottle UART operations,
these may not be called until the ldisc has had a chance to schedule and
check buffer space. This means that we may overflow the flip buffers
without ever hitting the ldisc's throttle threshold.
This change implements an interrupt-based throttle, where we check for
space in the flip buffers before reading characters from the UART's
FIFO. If there's no space available, we disable the RX interrupt and
schedule a timer to check for space later.
For this, we need an unlocked version of the set_throttle function to be
able to change throttle state from the irq_handler, which already holds
port->lock.
This prevents a case where we drop characters under heavy RX load.

The aspeed VUART runs at LPC bus frequency, rather than being restricted
to a typical UART baud rate. This means that the VUART can receive a lot
of data, which can overrun tty flip buffers, and/or cause a large amount
of interrupt traffic.
This change implements the uart_port->throttle & unthrottle callbacks,
implemented by disabling the receiver line status & received data
available IRQs.

Currently, we export serial8250_rx_chars, which does a whole bunch of
reads from the 8250 data register, without any form of flow control
between reads.
An upcoming change to the aspeed vuart driver implements more
fine-grained flow control in the interrupt handler, requiring
character-at-a-time control over the rx path.
This change exports serial8250_read_char to allow this.

On some systems IRQ lines between multiple UARTs might be shared. If so, the
irqflags have to be configured accordingly. The reason is: The 8250 port startup
code performs IRQ tests *before* the IRQ handler for that particular port is
registered. This is performed in serial8250_do_startup(). This function checks
whether IRQF_SHARED is configured and only then disables the IRQ line while
testing.
This test is performed upon each open() of the UART device. Imagine two UARTs
share the same IRQ line: On is already opened and the IRQ is active. When the
second UART is opened, the IRQ line has to be disabled while performing IRQ
tests. Otherwise an IRQ might handler might be invoked, but the the IRQ itself
cannot be handled, because the corresponding handler isn't registered,
yet. That's because the 8250 code uses a chain-handler and invokes the
corresponding port's IRQ handling rountines himself.
Unfortunately this IRQF_SHARED flag isn't configured for UARTs probed via device
tree even if the IRQs are shared. This way, the actual and shared IRQ line isn't
disabled while performing tests and the kernel correctly detects a spurious
IRQ. So, adding this flag to the DT probe solves the issue.
Note: The UPF_SHARE_IRQ flag is configured unconditionally. Therefore, the
IRQF_SHARED flag can be set unconditionally as well.

Enable/Clear module level UART wakeup in UART_OMAP_WER register based on
return value of device_may_wakeup() in .suspend(). This allows
userspace to use sysfs to control the ability of UART to wakeup the
system from deep sleep state. Register is restored back in .startup()
call that happens as part of resume sequence.
With this patch, userspace can control UART wakeup capability via sysfs:
To enable wakeup capability:
echo enabled > /sys/class/tty/ttyXX/device/power/wakeup
For disabling wakeup capability:
echo disabled > /sys/class/tty/ttyXX/device/power/wakeup
Note that the UART wakeup events configured in the 8250 hardware only
work for idle modes that do not cut off power for the UART. For deeper
idle states, dedicated padconf wakeirqs must be used. Or in some cases
the UART RX pin can be remuxed to GPIO input if the GPIO block stays
powered.

The previous implementation has had a detrimental effect on devices using
high bitrates (bluetooth), as the fifo being non-empty for a single check
would result in a 10 µs delay.
Limit the change to devices with the new "marvell,armada-38x-uart"
compatible string. Also update the code to allow the first 1000 retries
to not perform a delay.
The maximum duration of retries has been increased to cover a worst-case
seen on the Armada 385 SoC. "dmesg ; resize", will fill the buffer with
text to output before doing a resize. At 9600 baud this took up to 13 ms
to flush all characters and avoid some getting lost.

An issue has been observed on the Marvell Armada 38x serial port.
Writes to UART_LCR can result in characters that are currently held in the
TX FIFO being lost rather than sent, even if the userspace process has
attempted to flush them.
This is most visible when using the "resize" command (tested on Busybox),
where we have observed the escape code for restoring cursor position
becoming mangled.

omap_8250_throttle() is called when tty RX buffer is about to overflow
and can no longer keep up with the rate at which UART is receiving data.
So, the expectation of this callback, is that UART stops RX and asserts
HW flow control to signal the sender to stop sending more data.
omap_8250_throttle() disables RX FIFO interrupts thus FIFO is no longer
serviced, leading to assertion of flow control once RX FIFO is full.
But, this does not work when DMA is enabled as driver keeps queuing new
RX DMA request in completion handler without brothering about throttling
request made by the higher layer.
This patch introduces a flag that can be used to determine whether or
not to queue next RX DMA request based on throttling request.
Without this patch, tty buffer overflows are reported at higher
baudrates.

Currently, data in RX FIFO is read based on UART_LSR register state even
if RDI and RLSI interrupts are disabled in UART_IER register.
This is because when IRQ handler is called due to TX FIFO empty event,
RX FIFO is serviced based on UART_LSR register status instead of
UART_IIR status. This defeats the purpose of disabling UART RX
FIFO interrupts during throttling(see, omap_8250_throttle()) as IRQ
handler continues to drain UART RX FIFO resulting in overflow of buffer
at tty layer.
Fix this by making sure that driver drains UART RX FIFO only when
UART_IIR_RDI is set along with UART_LSR_BI or UART_LSR_DR bits.

Exar sleep wake-up handling has been done on a per-channel basis by
virtue of INT0 being accessible from each channel's address space. I
believe this was initially done out of necessity, but now that Exar
devices have their own driver, we can do things more efficiently by
registering a dedicated INT0 handler at the PCI device level.
I see this change providing the following benefits:
1. If more than one port is active, eliminates the redundant bus
cycles for reading INT0 on every interrupt.
2. This note associated with hooking in the per-channel handler in
8250_port.c is resolved:

The commit
de9e33bdfa ("serial: 8250_dw: Improve clock rate setting")
obviously tries to cure symptoms, and not a root cause.
The root cause is the non-flexible rate calculation inside the
corresponding clock driver. What we need is to provide maximum UART
divisor value to the clock driver to allow it do the job transparently
to the caller.
Since from the initial commit message I have got no clue which clock
driver actually needs to be amended, I leave this exercise to the people
who know better the case.
Moreover, it seems [1] the fix introduced a regression. And possible
even one more [2].
Taking above, revert the commit de9e33bdfa for now.

In the devicetree, it is possible to specify the baudrate, parity,
bits, flow of the early console, by passing a configuration string like
this:

This, for instance, will configure the early console for a baudrate of
57600 bps, no parity, and 8 bits per baud.
This patches implements parsing of this configuration string in the
8250_ingenic driver, which previously just ignored it.

The error pointer from devm_reset_control_get_optional_shared() is
not propagated.
One of the most common problem scenarios is it returns -EPROBE_DEFER
when the reset controller has not probed yet. In this case, the
probe of the reset consumer should be deferred.

Using "make kvmconfig" results in a potentially unusable linux image
on s390. The reason is that both the (default on s390) sclp consoles
as well as the 8250 console register a ttyS<x> as console. Since there
will be no 8250 on s390 let's fence 8250. This will ensure that there
is always a working sclp console.

If either uartclk or baud are 0, avoid calculating and setting a divisor
based on them since the output will almost certainly be garbage.
This also allows platforms such as the MIPS generic kernel, which has no
way to know a valid BASE_BASE for the board it is actually booted on at
compile time, to set BASE_BAUD to 0 and avoid early_8250 setting a bad
divisor.
This fixes a regression caused by commit 31cb9a8575 ("earlycon:
initialise baud field of earlycon device structure"), which changed the
behavior of of_setup_earlycon such that it sets a baud rate in the
earlycon structure where previously it was left as 0. All boards
supported by the MIPS generic kernel started outputting garbage from the
boot console due to an incorrect divisor being set.

The 8250_fintek.c is support the Fintek F81866/F81216 with dynamic clock.
But It'll generate "division by zero" exception and crash in
fintek_8250_set_termios() with baud rate 0 on baudrate_table[i] % baud.

Hardware does not support having the same RTS level during RX and TX
when RS485 mode is on (URA in Fintek terminology).
The manufacturer has also confirmed that the delays are not enabled if
the RS485 mode is not enabled.
Therefore we should return -EINVAL if the user wants to have the same
value for RTS_ON_SEND and RTS_AFTER_SEND.

Now that the SPDX tag is in all tty files, that identifies the license
in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text wording
can be removed as it is no longer needed at all.
This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in
the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff
like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never
needed.
No copyright headers or other non-license-description text was removed.

It's good to have SPDX identifiers in all files to make it easier to
audit the kernel tree for correct licenses.
Update the drivers/tty files files with the correct SPDX license
identifier based on the license text in the file itself. The SPDX
identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of
the full boiler plate text.

Canceling hrtimer when holding uart spinlock can deadlock.
CPU0: syscall write
-> get uart port spinlock
-> write uart
-> start_tx_rs485
-> hrtimer_cancel
-> wait for hrtimer callback to finish
CPU1: hrtimer IRQ
-> run hrtimer
-> em485_handle_stop_tx
-> get uart port spinlock
CPU0 is waiting for the hrtimer callback to finish, but the hrtimer
callback running on CPU1 is waiting to get the uart port spinlock.
This deadlock can be avoided by not canceling the hrtimers in these paths.
Setting active_timer=NULL can be done without accessing hrtimer,
and that will effectively cancel operations that would otherwise have been
performed by the hrtimer callback.

This driver's ->rs485_config callback checks if SER_RS485_RTS_ON_SEND
and SER_RS485_RTS_AFTER_SEND have the same value. If they do, it means
the user has passed in invalid data with the TIOCSRS485 ioctl()
since RTS must have a different polarity when sending and when not
sending. In this case, rs485 mode is not enabled (the RS485_URA bit
is not set in the RS485 Enable Register) and this is supposed to be
signaled back to the user by clearing the SER_RS485_ENABLED bit in
struct serial_rs485 ... except a missing tilde character is preventing
that from happening.

Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.
By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.
Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.
This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.
How this work was done:
Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
- file had no licensing information it it.
- file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
- file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,
Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.
The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.
The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
- Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
- Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
lines of source
- File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
lines).
All documentation files were explicitly excluded.
The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.
- when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
COPYING file license applied.
For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

- when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
the concluded license(s).
- when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.
- In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).
- When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
- If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
in time.
In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.
Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.
Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.
In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.
Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
- a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
license ids and scores
- reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
- reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
SPDX license was correct
This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.
These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

The SuperIO will be configured at boot time by BIOS, but some BIOS
will not deactivate the SuperIO when the end of configuration. It'll
lead to mismatch for pdata->base_port in probe_setup_port(). So we'll
deactivate all SuperIO before activate special base_port in
fintek_8250_enter_key().

The upper four bits of the XR17V35x fractional divisor register (DLD)
control general chip function (RS-485 direction pin polarity, multidrop
mode, XON/XOFF parity check, and fast IR mode). Don't allow these bits
to be clobbered when setting the baudrate.

Currently dw8250_set_termios sets the input clock to the nearest
achievable rate to baudx16. If necessary, the input clock is then
divided down to baudx16 using an integer divider within the UART
device, with the divisor calculated in the 8250 core driver.
However, the clock rate set by dw8250_set_termios and subsequently
divided down could be considerably different to the target baudx16
rate, resulting in incorrect operation. This patch fixes this by
iteratively searching for an input clock rate that is within +/-1.6%
of an integer multiple of the target baudx16 rate.

The F81216H had 4 clocksource 1.8432/18.432/14.769/24MHzand baud rates can
be up to 1.5Mbits with 24MHz. The register value and mask is the same with
F81866. But F81866 register address is F2h, F81216H is F0h.
We'll implements the dynamic clocksource in fintek_8250_set_termios().

After switching to HR timers for RS485 the NULL checks for the object

This patch introduces the 8250_men_mcb driver for the MEN 16Z125
IP-Core. This is a 16550-type UART with a 60 byte FIFO.
Due to strange old hardware, every board using this IP core requires
different values for uartclk. A reasonable default is included in
addition to the support of three boards. Additional values for other
boards will be added later.

The 8250 core uses the SCR as a canary to discover if the console has
been powered-off.
This hardware does not have SCR at offset 7, but an unused register
CHAR at a different offset. As long as the character interrupt is
disabled, the register access has no impact, so it is useful as an
alternative scratch register.

serial8250_register_8250_port() may allocate a different port index
than requested. The driver needs to remember the returned value of
serial8250_register_8250_port() for later use. Otherwise, the .remove
hook may unregister a different port.

MediaTek BTIF controller is the serial interface similar to UART but it
works only as the digital device which is mainly used to communicate with
the connectivity module called CONNSYS inside the SoC which could be mostly
found on those MediaTek SoCs with Bluetooth feature such as MT7622 and
MT7623 SoCs.
And the controller is made as being compatible with the 8250 register
layout with extra registers such as DMA enablement so it tends to be
integrated with reusing 8250 OF driver. However, DMA mode is not being
supported yet in the current driver.

66AK2G UART instances are not apart of the ALWAYS_ON power domain.
Therefore, pm_runtime calls must be made to properly insure the appropriate
power domains needed by UART are on. Keep legacy clk api calls since other
users of this driver may not support PM runtime.

The device-specific property should be prefixed with the vendor name,
not "linux,", as Linus Walleij pointed out. Change this and document the
bindings of this platform device.
We didn't ship the old binding in a release yet. So we can still change
it without breaking an official API.

If the board we are guessing has been listed in black list we don't need
to enable it twice. The associated driver, if any, will take care about
proper initialization.
To achieve this we split out two helper functions, i.e.
serial_pci_is_class_communication() and serial_pci_is_blacklisted() which will
be called before pcim_enable_device(). We can do this since PCI specification
requires class, device and vendor ID registers to be always present in the
configuration space.

First 16 bits in the flags field are user-visible except
UPF_NO_TXEN_TEST. To keep it clean we introduce internal quirks and move
UPF_NO_TXEN_TEST to them. Rename the constant to UPQ_NO_TXEN_TEST to
distinguish with port flags. Users are converted accordingly.
The quirks field might be extended later to hold the additional ones.

Commit a53e35db70 ("reset: Ensure drivers are explicit when requesting
reset lines") started to transition the reset control request API calls
to explicitly state whether the driver needs exclusive or shared reset
control behavior. Convert all drivers requesting exclusive resets to the
explicit API call so the temporary transition helpers can be removed.
No functional changes.

This implements the setup of RS232 and the switch-over to RS485 or RS422
for the Siemens IOT2040. That uses an EXAR XR17V352 with external logic
to switch between the different modes. The external logic is controlled
via MPIO pins of the EXAR controller.
Only pin 10 can be exported as GPIO on the IOT2040. It is connected to
an LED.
As the XR17V352 used on the IOT2040 is not equipped with an external
EEPROM, it cannot present itself as IOT2040-variant via subvendor/
subdevice IDs. Thus, we have to check via DMI for the target platform.

On the SIMATIC, IOT2040 only a single pin is exportable as GPIO, the
rest is required to operate the UART. To allow modeling this case,
expand the platform device data structure to specify a (consecutive) pin
subset for exporting by the gpio-exar driver.

DMA RX completion handler for UART is called from a tasklet and hence
may be delayed depending on the system load. In meanwhile, there may be
RX timeout interrupt which can get serviced first before DMA RX
completion handler is executed for the completed transfer.
omap_8250_rx_dma_flush() which is called on RX timeout interrupt makes
sure that the DMA RX buffer is pushed and then the FIFO is drained and
also queues a new DMA request. But, when DMA RX completion handler
executes, it will erroneously flush the currently queued DMA transfer
which sometimes results in data corruption and double queueing of DMA RX
requests.
Fix this by checking whether RX completion is for the currently queued
transfer or not. And also hold port lock when in DMA completion to avoid
race wrt RX timeout handler preempting it.

The BCM2835 MINI UART has non-standard THRE semantics. Conventionally
the bit means that the FIFO is empty (although there may still be a
byte in the transmit register), but on 2835 it indicates that the FIFO
is not full. This causes interrupts after every byte is transmitted,
with the FIFO providing some interrupt latency tolerance.
A consequence of this difference is that the usual strategy of writing
multiple bytes into the TX FIFO after checking THRE once is unsafe.
In the worst case of 7 bytes in the FIFO, writing 8 bytes loses all
but the first since by then the FIFO is full.
There is an HFIFO ("Hidden FIFO") capability that causes the transmit
loop to terminate when both THRE and TEMT are set, i.e. when the TX
block is completely idle. This is unnecessarily cautious, potentially
causing gaps in transmission.
Add a new conditional to the transmit loop, predicated on CAP_MINI,
that exits when THRE is no longer set (the FIFO is full). This allows
the FIFO to fill quickly but subsequent writes are paced by the
transmission rate.

This fixes reloading of the GPIO driver for the same platform device
instance as created by the exar UART driver: First of all, the driver
sets drvdata to its own value during probing and does not restore the
original value on exit. But this won't help anyway as the core clears
drvdata after the driver left.
Set the platform device parent instead.

Commit e4fda3a042 ("serial: don't register CIR serial ports") adds a
check for PORT_8250_CIR to serial8250_register_8250_port(). But the code
isn't needed as the function never takes the branch when the port is CIR
serial port.
This patch deletes the dead code.

The AUX/mini-UART in the BCM2835 family of procesors is a cut-down
8250 clone. In particular it is lacking support for the following
features: CSTOPB PARENB PARODD CMSPAR CS5 CS6
Add a new capability (UART_CAP_MINI) that exposes the restrictions to
the user of the termios API by turning off the unsupported features in
the request.
N.B. It is almost possible to automatically discover the missing
features by reading back the LCR register, but the CSIZE bits don't
cooperate (contrary to the documentation, both bits are significant,
but CS5 and CS6 are mapped to CS7) and the code is much longer.

After migrating 8250_exar to MSI in 172c33cb61, we can get stuck
without further interrupts because of the special wake-up event these
chips send. They are only cleared by reading INT0. As we fail to do so
during startup and shutdown, we can leave the interrupt line asserted,
which is fatal with edge-triggered MSIs.
Add the required reading of INT0 to startup and shutdown. Also account
for the fact that a pending wake-up interrupt means we have to return 1
from exar_handle_irq. Drop the unneeded reading of INT1..3 along with
this - those never reset anything.
An alternative approach would have been disabling the wake-up interrupt.
Unfortunately, this feature (REGB[17] = 1) is not available on the
XR17D15X.

Commit fa01e2ca9f ("serial: 8250: Integrate Fintek into 8250_base")
modified the probing logic for PNP0501 devices, to remove a collision
between the generic 16550A driver and the Fintek driver, which reused
the same ACPI _HID.
The Fintek device probe is now incorporated into the common 8250 probe
path, and gets called for all discovered 16550A compatible devices,
including ones that are MMIO mapped rather than IO mapped. However,
the Fintek driver assumes the port base is a I/O address, and proceeds
to probe some arbitrary offsets above it.
This is generally a wrong thing to do, but on ARM systems (having no
native port I/O), this may result in faulting accesses of completely
unrelated MMIO regions in the PCI I/O space. Given that this is at
serial probe time, this results in hard to diagnose crashes at boot.
So let's restrict the Fintek probe to devices that we know are using
port I/O in the first place.

This change adds a driver for the 16550-based Aspeed virtual UART
device. We use a similar process to the of_serial driver for device
probe, but expose some VUART-specific functions through sysfs too.
The VUART is two UART 'front ends' connected by their FIFO (no actual
serial line in between). One is on the BMC side (management controller)
and one is on the host CPU side.
This driver is for the BMC side. The sysfs files allow the BMC
userspace, which owns the system configuration policy, to specify at
what IO port and interrupt number the host side will appear to the host
on the Host <-> BMC LPC bus. It could be different on a different system
(though most of them use 3f8/4).
OpenPOWER host firmware doesn't like it when the host-side of the
VUART's FIFO is not drained. This driver only disables host TX discard
mode when the port is in use. We set the VUART enabled bit when we bind
to the device, and clear it on unbind.
We don't want to do this on open/release, as the host may be using this
bit to configure serial output modes, which is independent of whether
the devices has been opened by BMC userspace.

The probing of THRE irq behaviour assumes the other end will be reading
bytes out of the buffer in order to probe the port at driver init. In
some cases the other end cannot be relied upon to read these bytes, so
provide a flag for them to skip this step.
Bit 19 was chosen as the flags are a int and the top bits are taken.

Kernel always writes log messages to console via
serial8250_console_write()->serial8250_console_putchar() which directly
accesses UART_TX register _without_ using DMA.
But, if other processes like systemd using same UART port, then these
writes are handled by a different code flow using 8250_omap driver where
there is provision to use DMA.
It seems that it is possible that both DMA and CPU might simultaneously
put data to UART FIFO and lead to potential loss of data due to FIFO
overflow and weird data corruption. This happens when both kernel
console and userspace tries to write simultaneously to the same UART
port. Therefore, disable DMA on kernel console port to avoid potential
race between CPU and DMA.

Note that the hwtype is compile checked, but not currently stored (the
lockdown code probably won't require it). It is, however, there for
future use.
A bonus is that the hwtype can also be used for grepping.
The intention is for the kernel to ignore or reject attempts to set
annotated module parameters if lockdown is enabled. This applies to
options passed on the boot command line, passed to insmod/modprobe or
direct twiddling in /sys/module/ parameter files.
The module initialisation then needs to handle the parameter not being
set, by (1) giving an error, (2) probing for a value or (3) using a
reasonable default.
What I can't do is just reject a module out of hand because it may
take a hardware setting in the module parameters. Some important
modules, some ipmi stuff for instance, both probe for hardware and
allow hardware to be manually specified; if the driver is aborts with
any error, you don't get any ipmi hardware.
Further, trying to do this entirely in the module initialisation code
doesn't protect against sysfs twiddling.

When the kernel is running in secure boot mode, we lock down the kernel to
prevent userspace from modifying the running kernel image. Whilst this
includes prohibiting access to things like /dev/mem, it must also prevent
access by means of configuring driver modules in such a way as to cause a
device to access or modify the kernel image.
To this end, annotate module_param* statements that refer to hardware
configuration and indicate for future reference what type of parameter they
specify. The parameter parser in the core sees this information and can
skip such parameters with an error message if the kernel is locked down.
The module initialisation then runs as normal, but just sees whatever the
default values for those parameters is.
Note that we do still need to do the module initialisation because some
drivers have viable defaults set in case parameters aren't specified and
some drivers support automatic configuration (e.g. PNP or PCI) in addition
to manually coded parameters.
This patch annotates drivers in drivers/tty/.

In commit d0aeaa83f0 ("serial: exar:
split out the exar code from 8250_pci") the exar driver got its own
Kconfig. However the text for the new option was never changed from
the original 8250_PCI text, and hence it appears confusing when you
get asked the same question twice:

Using dev_name() as IRQ name during request_irq() might be misleading in
case of serial over PCI. Therefore identify serial port IRQ using
uart_port's name field. This will help mapping IRQs to appropriate
ttySN(where N is the serial port index) instances.

MSI needs it as well.
Should have no practical impact, though, as DMA is always available on

Fintek F81866 supports baud rates higher than 115200 but needs to raise
it's clock speed from 1.84 to 14.76 MHz.
This is eight times faster, so gives 921600 as resulting baud_base.

Passing "serial" as name during request_irq() results in all serial port
irqs have same name. This does not help much to easily identify which
irq belongs to which serial port instance. Therefore pass dev_name()
during request_irq() so that better identifiable name is listed for
serial ports in cat /proc/interrupts output.

Commit 6a171b2993 ("serial: 8250_dw: Allow hardware flow control to be
used") recently broke the 8250_dw driver on platforms which don't select
HAVE_CLK, as dw8250_set_termios() gets confused by the behaviour of the
fallback HAVE_CLK=n clock API in linux/clk.h which pretends everything
is fine but returns (valid) NULL clocks and 0 HZ clock rates.
That 0 rate is written into the uartclk resulting in a crash at boot,
e.g. on Cavium Octeon III based UTM-8 we get something like this:

The clock API is defined such that NULL is a valid clock handle so it
wouldn't be right to check explicitly for NULL. Instead treat a
clk_round_rate() return value of 0 as an error which prevents uartclk
being overwritten.

clk_round_rate returns a signed long and may possibly return errors
in it, for example if there is no possible rate.
Till now dw8250_set_termios ignored any error, the signednes and would
just use the value as input to clk_set_rate. This of course falls apart
if there is an actual error, so check for errors and only try to set
a rate if the value is actually valid.
This turned up on some Rockchip platforms after commit
6a171b2993 ("serial: 8250_dw: Allow hardware flow control to be used")
enabled set_termios callback in all cases, not only ACPI.

Those are Exar-based, too.
With the required refactoring of the code to fit into 8250_exar, we
automatically fix the same issue pci_xr17v35x_setup had before: 8XMODE,
FCTL, TXTRG and RXTRG were always only set for port 0. Now they are
initialized for the correct target port by using port.membase.
Now we can also cleanly fix the blacklist of 8250_pci so that all
Commtech devices are rejected and 8250_exar can handle them.

So far, pci_xr17v35x_setup always initialized 8XMODE, FCTR & Co. for
port 0 because it used the address of that port instead of moving the
pointer according to the port number. Fix this and remove the unneeded
temporary ioremap by moving default_setup up and reusing the membase it
fills into the port structure.

On a Rockchip rk3399-based board during suspend/resume testing, we
found that we could get the console UART into a state where it would
print this to the console a lot:
serial8250: too much work for irq42
Followed eventually by:
NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 11s!
Upon debugging I found that we're in this state:
iir = 0x000000cc
lsr = 0x00000060
It appears that somehow we have a RX Timeout interrupt but there is no
actual data present to receive. When we're in this state the UART
driver claims that it handled the interrupt but it actually doesn't
really do anything. This means that we keep getting the interrupt
over and over again.
Normally we don't actually need to do anything special to handle a RX
Timeout interrupt. We'll notice that there is some data ready and
we'll read it, which will end up clearing the RX Timeout. In this
case we have a problem specifically because we got the RX TImeout
without any data. Reading a bogus byte is confirmed to get us out of
this state.
It's unclear how exactly the UART got into this state, but it is known
that the UART lines are essentially undriven and unpowered during
suspend, so possibly during resume some garbage / half transmitted
bits are seen on the line and put the UART into this state.
The UART on the rk3399 is a DesignWare based 8250 UART. From mailing
list posts, it appears that other people have run into similar
problems with DesignWare based IP. Presumably this problem is unique
to that IP, so I have placed the workaround there to avoid possibly of
accidentally triggering bad behavior on other IP. Also note the RX
Timeout behaves very differently in the DMA case, for for now the
workaround is only applied to the non-DMA case.

The MKS Instruments SCOM-0800 and SCOM-0801 cards (originally by Tenta
Technologies) are 3U CompactPCI serial cards with 4 and 8 serial ports,
respectively. The first 4 ports are implemented by an OX16PCI954 chip,
and the second 4 ports are implemented by an OX16C954 chip on a local
bus, bridged by the second PCI function of the OX16PCI954. The ports
are jumper-selectable as RS-232 and RS-422/485, and the UARTs use a
non-standard oscillator frequency of 20 MHz (base_baud = 1250000).

During build testing, I ran into a warning in a driver that I
had written myself at some point:
drivers/tty/serial/8250/8250_of.c: In function 'of_platform_serial_probe':
drivers/tty/serial/8250/8250_of.c:233:1: error: the frame size of 1200 bytes is larger than 1152 bytes [-Werror=frame-larger-than=]
This is harmless by itself, but it shows two other problems in
the driver:
- It still tries to be generic enough to handle all kinds of serial
ports, where in reality the driver has been 8250-only for a while,
and every other uart has its own DT support
- As a result of that generalization, we keep two copies of
'struct uart_port' on the stack during probe(). This is completely
unnessary.
Removing the last code dealing with unsupported port_type values
solves both problems nicely, and reduces the stack size.

Otherwise the interconnect related code implementing PM runtime will
produce these errors on a failed probe:
omap_uart 48066000.serial: omap_device: omap_device_enable() called from invalid state 1
omap_uart 48066000.serial: use pm_runtime_put_sync_suspend() in driver?
Note that we now also need to check for priv in omap8250_runtime_suspend()
as it has not yet been registered if probe fails. And we need to use
pm_runtime_put_sync() to properly idle the device like we already do
in omap8250_remove().

Currently this warning is triggered for allmodconfig on m68k. It is
well intentioned, in that if you are building the driver but not
enabling one of the platforms where the hardware exists, you get a
warning.
The warning dates back to pre-git days, and now we have COMPILE_TEST
so we can use that to mask the warning for people who are obviously
just doing build coverage on tree wide changes.

8250 UART DMA support was marked broken by default as it was not
possible to pause ongoing RX DMA transfer. Now that both SDMA and
EDMA can support pause operation for RX DMA transactions, don't set
rx_dma_broken to true by default. With this patch 8250_omap driver will
use DMA by default.

UART uses as EDMA as dma engine on AM437x SoC and therefore, requires
OMAP_DMA_TX_KICK quirk just like AM33xx. So, enable OMAP_DMA_TX_KICK
quirk for AM437x platform as well. While at that, drop use of
of_machine_is_compatible() and instead pass quirks via device data.

It is possible that DMA transfer is already complete but, completion
handler is yet to be called, when dmaengine_pause() is called in case of
error condition(like break/rx timeout). This leads to dmaengine_pause()
API to return EINVAL (as descriptor is already NULL) causing
rx_dma_broken flag to be set and effectively disabling RX DMA.
Fix this by calling dmaengine_pause() only when transfer is in progress.

Here, If ioremap_nocache will fail. It will return NULL.
Kernel can run into a NULL-pointer dereference.
This error check will avoid NULL pointer dereference.

There is no need to set PCI bus mastering when device is not doing any DMA. It
includes MSI type of interrupts. Currently only UART on Denverton, which is DMA
capable, might have MSI enabled.
Taking above into account enable bus mastering for Denverton case only.
