Eric Auger f6530926e2 intc/arm_gic: Support IRQ injection for more than 256 vpus
Host kernels that expose the KVM_CAP_ARM_IRQ_LINE_LAYOUT_2 capability
allow injection of interrupts along with vcpu ids larger than 255.
Let's encode the vpcu id on 12 bits according to the upgraded KVM_IRQ_LINE
ABI when needed.

Given that we have two callsites that need to assemble
the value for kvm_set_irq(), a new helper routine, kvm_arm_set_irq
is introduced.

Without that patch qemu exits with "kvm_set_irq: Invalid argument"
message.

Andrew Jones ae502508f8 target/arm/cpu: Ensure we can use the pmu with kvm
We first convert the pmu property from a static property to one with
its own accessors. Then we use the set accessor to check if the PMU is
supported when using KVM. Indeed a 32-bit KVM host does not support
the PMU, so this check will catch an attempt to use it at property-set
time.

Peter Maydell 02ac2f7f61 target/arm: Avoid bogus NSACR traps on M-profile without Security Extension
In Arm v8.0 M-profile CPUs without the Security Extension and also in
v7M CPUs, there is no NSACR register. However, the code we have to handle
the FPU does not always check whether the ARM_FEATURE_M_SECURITY bit
is set before testing whether env->v7m.nsacr permits access to the
FPU. This means that for a CPU with an FPU but without the Security
Extension we would always take a bogus fault when trying to stack
the FPU registers on an exception entry.

We could fix this by adding extra feature bit checks for all uses,
but it is simpler to just make the internal value of nsacr 0xcff
("all non-secure accesses allowed"), since this is not guest
visible when the Security Extension is not present. This allows
us to continue to follow the Arm ARM pseudocode which takes a
similar approach. (In particular, in the v8.1 Arm ARM the register
is documented as reading as 0xcff in this configuration.)

Peter Maydell 8f4821d77e target/arm: Limit ID register assertions to TCG
In arm_cpu_realizefn() we make several assertions about the values of
guest ID registers:
 * if the CPU provides AArch32 v7VE or better it must advertise the
   ARM_DIV feature
 * if the CPU provides AArch32 A-profile v6 or better it must
   advertise the Jazelle feature

These are essentially consistency checks that our ID register
specifications in cpu.c didn't accidentally miss out a feature,
because increasingly the TCG emulation gates features on the values
in ID registers rather than using old-style checks of ARM_FEATURE_FOO
bits.

Unfortunately, these asserts can cause problems if we're running KVM,
because in that case we don't control the values of the ID registers
-- we read them from the host kernel.  In particular, if the host
kernel is older than 4.15 then it doesn't expose the ID registers via
the KVM_GET_ONE_REG ioctl, and we set up dummy values for some
registers and leave the rest at zero.  (See the comment in
target/arm/kvm64.c kvm_arm_get_host_cpu_features().) This set of
dummy values is not sufficient to pass our assertions, and so on
those kernels running an AArch32 guest on AArch64 will assert.

We could provide a more sophisticated set of dummy ID registers in
this case, but that still leaves the possibility of a host CPU which
reports bogus ID register values that would cause us to assert.  It's
more robust to only do these ID register checks if we're using TCG,
as that is the only case where this is truly a QEMU code bug.

Peter Maydell cb7cef8b32 target/arm: Set VFP-related MVFR0 fields for arm926 and arm1026
The ARMv5 architecture didn't specify detailed per-feature ID
registers. Now that we're using the MVFR0 register fields to
gate the existence of VFP instructions, we need to set up
the correct values in the cpu->isar structure so that we still
provide an FPU to the guest.

This fixes a regression in the arm926 and arm1026 CPUs, which
are the only ones that both have VFP and are ARMv5 or earlier.
This regression was introduced by the VFP refactoring, and more
specifically by commits 1120827fa1 and 266bd25c48,
which accidentally disabled VFP short-vector support and
double-precision support on these CPUs.

Alex Bennée 45b1a243b8 target/arm: report ARMv8-A FP support for AArch32 -cpu max
When we converted to using feature bits in 602f6e42cf we missed out
the fact (dp && arm_dc_feature(s, ARM_FEATURE_V8)) was supported for
-cpu max configurations. This caused a regression in the GCC test
suite. Fix this by setting the appropriate bits in mvfr1.FPHP to
report ARMv8-A with FP support (but not ARMv8.2-FP16).

Like Xu cc7d44c2e0 hw/arm: Replace global smp variables with machine smp properties
The global smp variables in arm are replaced with smp machine properties.
The init_cpus() and *_create_rpu() are refactored to pass MachineState.

A local variable of the same name would be introduced in the declaration
phase if it's used widely in the context OR replace it on the spot if it's
only used once. No semantic changes.

Peter Maydell 97a28b0eea target/arm: Allow VFP and Neon to be disabled via a CPU property
Allow VFP and neon to be disabled via a CPU property. As with
the "pmu" property, we only allow these features to be removed
from CPUs which have it by default, not added to CPUs which
don't have it.

The primary motivation here is to be able to optionally
create Cortex-M33 CPUs with no FPU, but we provide switches
for both VFP and Neon because the two interact:
 * AArch64 can't have one without the other
 * Some ID register fields only change if both are disabled

Peter Maydell 973751fd79 target/arm: Explicitly enable VFP short-vectors for aarch32 -cpu max
At the moment our -cpu max for AArch32 supports VFP short-vectors
because we always implement them, even for CPUs which should
not have them. The following commits are going to switch to
using the correct ID-register-check to enable or disable short
vector support, so we need to turn it on explicitly for -cpu max,
because Cortex-A15 doesn't implement it.

We don't enable this for the AArch64 -cpu max, because the v8A
architecture never supports short-vectors.

Markus Armbruster 14a48c1d0d qemu-common: Move tcg_enabled() etc. to sysemu/tcg.h
Other accelerators have their own headers: sysemu/hax.h, sysemu/hvf.h,
sysemu/kvm.h, sysemu/whpx.h.  Only tcg_enabled() & friends sit in
qemu-common.h.  This necessitates inclusion of qemu-common.h into
headers, which is against the rules spelled out in qemu-common.h's
file comment.

Move tcg_enabled() & friends into their own header sysemu/tcg.h, and
adjust #include directives.

Peter Maydell ea7ac69d12 target/arm: Overlap VECSTRIDE and XSCALE_CPAR TB flags
We are close to running out of TB flags for AArch32; we could
start using the cs_base word, but before we do that we can
economise on our usage by sharing the same bits for the VFP
VECSTRIDE field and the XScale XSCALE_CPAR field. This
works because no XScale CPU ever had VFP.

Peter Maydell d33abe82c7 target/arm: Implement dummy versions of M-profile FP-related registers
The M-profile floating point support has three associated config
registers: FPCAR, FPCCR and FPDSCR. It also makes the registers
CPACR and NSACR have behaviour other than reads-as-zero.
Add support for all of these as simple reads-as-written registers.
We will hook up actual functionality later.

The main complexity here is handling the FPCCR register, which
has a mix of banked and unbanked bits.

Note that we don't share storage with the A-profile
cpu->cp15.nsacr and cpu->cp15.cpacr_el1, though the behaviour
is quite similar, for two reasons:
 * the M profile CPACR is banked between security states
 * it preserves the invariant that M profile uses no state
   inside the cp15 substruct

Markus Armbruster 0442428a89 target: Simplify how the TARGET_cpu_list() print
The various TARGET_cpu_list() take an fprintf()-like callback and a
FILE * to pass to it.  Their callers (vl.c's main() via list_cpus(),
bsd-user/main.c's main(), linux-user/main.c's main()) all pass
fprintf() and stdout.  Thus, the flexibility provided by the (rather
tiresome) indirection isn't actually used.

Drop the callback, and call qemu_printf() instead.

Calling printf() would also work, but would make the code unsuitable
for monitor context without making it simpler.

Andrew Jones a46118fc16 target/arm: cortex-a7 and cortex-a15 have pmus
cortex-a7 and cortex-a15 have pmus (PMUv2) and they advertise
them in ID_DFR0. Let's allow them to function. This also enables
the pmu cpu property to work with these cpu types, i.e. we can
now do '-cpu cortex-a15,pmu=off' to remove the pmu.

Peter Maydell 602f6e42cf target/arm: Use MVFR1 feature bits to gate A32/T32 FP16 instructions
Instead of gating the A32/T32 FP16 conversion instructions on
the ARM_FEATURE_VFP_FP16 flag, switch to our new approach of
looking at ID register bits. In this case MVFR1 fields FPHP
and SIMDHP indicate the presence of these insns.

This change doesn't alter behaviour for any of our CPUs.

Peter Maydell f9f62e4c37 target/arm/cpu: Allow init-svtor property to be set after realize
Make the M-profile "init-svtor" property be settable after realize.
This matches the hardware, where this is a config signal which
is sampled on CPU reset and can thus be changed between one
reset and another. To do this we have to change the API we
use to add the property.

(We will need this capability for the SSE-200.)

Richard Henderson 276c6e8137 target/arm: Always enable pac keys for user-only
Drop the pac properties.  This approach cannot work as written
because the properties are applied before arm_cpu_reset, which
zeros SCTLR_EL1 (amongst everything else).

We can re-introduce the properties if they turn out to be useful.
But since linux 5.0 enables all of the keys, they may not be.

Julia Suvorova 42f6ed9193 arm: Clarify the logic of set_pc()
Until now, the set_pc logic was unclear, which raised questions about
whether it should be used directly, applying a value to PC or adding
additional checks, for example, set the Thumb bit in Arm cpu. Let's set
the set_pc logic for “Configure the PC, as was done in the ELF file”
and implement synchronize_with_tb hook for preserving PC to cpu_tb_exec.

Aaron Lindsay OS bf8d09694c target/arm: Don't clear supported PMU events when initializing PMCEID1
A bug was introduced during a respin of:

	commit 57a4a11b2b
	target/arm: Add array for supported PMU events, generate PMCEID[01]_EL0

This patch introduced two calls to get_pmceid() during CPU
initialization - one each for PMCEID0 and PMCEID1. In addition to
building the register values, get_pmceid() clears an internal array
mapping event numbers to their implementations (supported_event_map)
before rebuilding it. This is an optimization since much of the logic is
shared. However, since it was called twice, the contents of
supported_event_map reflect only the events in PMCEID1 (the second call
to get_pmceid()).

Fix this bug by moving the initialization of PMCEID0 and PMCEID1 back
into a single function call, and name it more appropriately since it is
doing more than simply generating the contents of the PMCEID[01]
registers.

Aaron Lindsay 57a4a11b2b target/arm: Add array for supported PMU events, generate PMCEID[01]_EL0
This commit doesn't add any supported events, but provides the framework
for adding them. We store the pm_event structs in a simple array, and
provide the mapping from the event numbers to array indexes in the
supported_event_map array. Because the value of PMCEID[01] depends upon
which events are supported at runtime, generate it dynamically.

Peter Maydell 397cd31f01 target/arm: Create timers in realize, not init
The timer_new() function allocates memory; this means that
if we call it in the CPU's init method we would need
to provide an instance_finalize method to free it. Defer
the timer creation to the realize function instead.

This fixes a memory leak spotted by clang LeakSanitizer
when a CPU object is created for introspection.

Peter Maydell ac87e5072e target/arm: Free name string in ARMCPRegInfo hashtable entries
When we add a new entry to the ARMCPRegInfo hash table in
add_cpreg_to_hashtable(), we allocate memory for tehe
ARMCPRegInfo struct itself, and we also g_strdup() the
name string. So the hashtable's value destructor function
must free the name string as well as the struct.

Spotted by clang's leak sanitizer. The leak here is a
small one-off leak at startup, because we don't support
CPU hotplug, and so the only time when we destroy
hash table entries is for the case where ARM_CP_OVERRIDE
means we register a wildcard entry and then override it later.

Peter Maydell 89430fc6f8 target/arm: Correctly implement handling of HCR_EL2.{VI, VF}
In commit 8a0fc3a29f we tried to implement HCR_EL2.{VI,VF},
but we got it wrong and had to revert it.

In that commit we implemented them as simply tracking whether there
is a pending virtual IRQ or virtual FIQ. This is not correct -- these
bits cause a software-generated VIRQ/VFIQ, which is distinct from
whether there is a hardware-generated VIRQ/VFIQ caused by the
external interrupt controller. So we need to track separately
the HCR_EL2 bit state and the external virq/vfiq line state, and
OR the two together to get the actual pending VIRQ/VFIQ state.

Peter Maydell ed89f078ff target/arm: Track the state of our irq lines from the GIC explicitly
Currently we track the state of the four irq lines from the GIC
only via the cs->interrupt_request or KVM irq state. That means
that we assume that an interrupt is asserted if and only if the
external line is set. This assumption is incorrect for VIRQ
and VFIQ, because the HCR_EL2.{VI,VF} bits allow assertion
of VIRQ and VFIQ separately from the state of the external line.

To handle this, start tracking the state of the external lines
explicitly in a CPU state struct field, as is common practice
for devices.

The complicated part of this is dealing with inbound migration
from an older QEMU which didn't have this state. We assume in
that case that the older QEMU did not implement the HCR_EL2.{VI,VF}
bits as generating interrupts, and so the line state matches
the current state in cs->interrupt_request. (This is not quite
true between commit 8a0fc3a29f and its revert, but
that commit is broken and never made it into any released QEMU
version.)

The ARMv8 architecture defines that an AArch32 CPU starts
in SVC mode, unless EL2 is the highest available EL, in
which case it starts in Hyp mode. (In ARMv7 a CPU with EL2
but not EL3 was not a valid configuration, but we don't
specifically reject this if the user asks for one.)

The rom_ptr() function allows direct access to the ROM blobs that we
load during startup. However, there are currently no checks for the
size of the accesses, so it's currently possible to crash QEMU for

Peter Maydell 95f875654a arm: Don't crash if user tries to use a Cortex-M CPU without an NVIC
The Cortex-M CPU and its NVIC are two intimately intertwined parts of
the same hardware; it is not possible to use one without the other.
Unfortunately a lot of our board models don't do any sanity checking
on the CPU type the user asks for, so a command line like
    qemu-system-arm -M versatilepb -cpu cortex-m3
will create an M3 without an NVIC, and coredump immediately.
In the other direction, trying a non-M-profile CPU in an M-profile
board won't blow up, but doesn't do anything useful either:
    qemu-system-arm -M lm3s6965evb -cpu arm926

Add some checking in the NVIC and CPU realize functions that the
user isn't trying to use an NVIC without an M-profile CPU or
an M-profile CPU without an NVIC, so we can produce a helpful
error message rather than a core dump.

Marc-André Lureau 265b578c58 object: fix OBJ_PROP_LINK_UNREF_ON_RELEASE ambivalence
A link property can be set during creation, with
object_property_add_link() and later with object_property_set_link().

add_link() doesn't add a reference to the target object, while
set_link() does.

Furthemore, OBJ_PROP_LINK_UNREF_ON_RELEASE flags, set during add_link,
says whether a reference must be released when the property is destroyed.
This can lead to leaks if the property was later set_link(), as the
added reference is never released.

Instead, rename OBJ_PROP_LINK_UNREF_ON_RELEASE to OBJ_PROP_LINK_STRONG
and use that has an indication on how the link handle reference
management in set_link().

Peter Maydell bcc531f036 target/arm: Fix fp_status_f16 tininess before rounding
In commit d81ce0ef2c we added an extra float_status field
fp_status_fp16 for Arm, but forgot to initialize it correctly
by setting it to float_tininess_before_rounding. This currently
will only cause problems for the new V8_FP16 feature, since the
float-to-float conversion code doesn't use it yet. The effect
would be that we failed to set the Underflow IEEE exception flag
in all the cases where we should.

Add the missing initialization.

Now we have a working '-cpu max', the linux-user-only
'any' CPU is pretty much the same thing, so implement it
that way.

For the moment we don't add any of the extra feature bits

Move the definition of the 'host' cpu type into cpu.c, where all the
other CPU types are defined.  We can do this now we've decoupled it
from the KVM-specific host feature probing.  This means we now create
the type unconditionally (assuming we were built with KVM support at
all), but if you try to use it without -enable-kvm this will end
up in the "host cpu probe failed and KVM not enabled" path in
arm_cpu_realizefn(), for an appropriate error message.

Peter Maydell c4487d76d5 target/arm: Query host CPU features on-demand at instance init
Currently we query the host CPU features in the class init function
for the TYPE_ARM_HOST_CPU class, so that we can later copy them
from the class object into the instance object in the object
instance init function. This is awkward for implementing "-cpu max",
which should work like "-cpu host" for KVM but like "cpu with all
implemented features" for TCG.

Move the place where we store the information about the host CPU from
a class object to static variables in kvm.c, and then in the instance
init function call a new kvm_arm_set_cpu_features_from_host()
function which will query the host kernel if necessary and then
fill in the CPU instance fields.

This allows us to drop the special class struct and class init
function for TYPE_ARM_HOST_CPU entirely.

We can't delay the probe until realize, because the ARM
instance_post_init hook needs to look at the feature bits we
set, so we need to do it in the initfn. This is safe because
the probing doesn't affect the actual VM state (it creates a
separate scratch VM to do its testing), but the probe might fail.
Because we can't report errors in retrieving the host features
in the initfn, we check this belatedly in the realize function
(the intervening code will be able to cope with the relevant
fields in the CPU structure being zero).

Alistair Francis f9a697112e target/arm: Add a core count property
The cortex A53 TRM specifies that bits 24 and 25 of the L2CTLR register
specify the number of cores in the processor, not the total number of
cores in the system. To report this correctly on machines with multiple
CPU clusters (ARM's big.LITTLE or Xilinx's ZynqMP) we need to allow
the machine to overwrite this value. To do this let's add an optional
property.

The Cortex-M33 allows the system to specify the reset value of the
secure Vector Table Offset Register (VTOR) by asserting config
signals. In particular, guest images for the MPS2 AN505 board rely
on the MPS2's initial VTOR being correct for that board.
Implement a QEMU property so board and SoC code can set the reset
value to the correct value.

Peter Maydell 181962fd69 target/arm: Define an IDAU interface
In v8M, the Implementation Defined Attribution Unit (IDAU) is
a small piece of hardware typically implemented in the SoC
which provides board or SoC specific security attribution
information for each address that the CPU performs MPU/SAU
checks on. For QEMU, we model this with a QOM interface which
is implemented by the board or SoC object and connected to
the CPU using a link property.

This commit defines the new interface class, adds the link
property to the CPU object, and makes the SAU checking
code call the IDAU interface if one is present.

Alex Bennée 24f91e81b6 target/*/cpu.h: remove softfloat.h
As cpu.h is another typically widely included file which doesn't need
full access to the softfloat API we can remove the includes from here
as well. Where they do need types it's typically for float_status and
the rounding modes so we move that to softfloat-types.h as well.

As a result of not having softfloat in every cpu.h call we now need to
add it to various helpers that do need the full softfloat.h
definitions.

Peter Maydell 5a53e2c1dc hw/intc/armv7m_nvic: Don't hardcode M profile ID registers in NVIC
Instead of hardcoding the values of M profile ID registers in the
NVIC, use the fields in the CPU struct. This will allow us to
give different M profile CPU types different ID register values.

This commit includes the addition of the missing ID_ISAR5,
which exists as RES0 in both v7M and v8M.

(The values of the ID registers might be wrong for the M4 --
this commit leaves the behaviour there unchanged.)

Laurent Vivier 98670d47cd accel/tcg: add size paremeter in tlb_fill()
The MC68040 MMU provides the size of the access that
triggers the page fault.

This size is set in the Special Status Word which
is written in the stack frame of the access fault
exception.

So we need the size in m68k_cpu_unassigned_access() and
m68k_cpu_handle_mmu_fault().

To be able to do that, this patch modifies the prototype of
handle_mmu_fault handler, tlb_fill() and probe_write().
do_unassigned_access() already includes a size parameter.

This patch also updates handle_mmu_fault handlers and
tlb_fill() of all targets (only parameter, no code change).

Peter Maydell 9901c576f6 nvic: Implement Security Attribution Unit registers
Implement the register interface for the SAU: SAU_CTRL,
SAU_TYPE, SAU_RNR, SAU_RBAR and SAU_RLAR. None of the
actual behaviour is implemented here; registers just
read back as written.

When the CPU definition for Cortex-M33 is eventually
added, its initfn will set cpu->sau_sregion, in the same
way that we currently set cpu->pmsav7_dregion for the
M3 and M4.

Number of SAU regions is typically a configurable
CPU parameter, but this patch doesn't provide a
QEMU CPU property for it. We can easily add one when

Alexey Kardashevskiy b516572f31 memory: Get rid of address_space_init_shareable
Since FlatViews are shared now and ASes not, this gets rid of
address_space_init_shareable().

This should cause no behavioural change.
