A general problem for uart rx dma channel is you never know when
and how much data will be received, so usually preset it a DMA
descriptor with a big size, and rely on DMA RX timeout IRQ to
know there is some data in rx channel.
For a RX data size of multiple of MOTSR, there will be no timeout
IRQ issued, thus OS will never be notified about that.
This is a work around for that, current timer frequency is 5 times
per second, it should vary according to the baud rate
When future silicon version fix the problem, this workaround need
be removed

This is a PCI & UART driver, which suppors both PIO and DMA mode
UART operation. It has 3 identical UART ports and one internal
DMA controller.
Current FW will export 4 pci devices for hsu: 3 uart ports and 1
dma controller, each has one IRQ line. And we need to discuss the
device model, one PCI device covering whole HSU should be a better
model, but there is a problem of how to export the 4 IRQs info
Current driver set the highest baud rate to 2746800bps, which is
easy to scale down to 115200/230400.... To suport higher baud rate,
we need add special process, change DLAB/DLH/PS/DIV/MUL registers
all together.
921600 is the highest baud rate that has been tested with Bluetooth
modem connected to HSU port 0. Will test more when there is right
BT firmware.

Don't take the port spinlock in uart functions where the serial core
already takes care of locking/unlocking them.
The code would actually lock up on architectures where spinlocks are

Fix several issues related to the RS485 interface:
- It adds the flag SER_RS485_RTS_BEFORE_SEND that was missing from the
serial_rs485 structure (even if "delay_rts_before_send" was existing)
- It adds a further "delay_rts_after_send" field for those drivers that
can have a delay after send (e.g., atmel_serial)
- It fixes the usage of the structure in the atmel_serial driver (where
"delay_rts_before_send" should be used instead of "delay_rts_after_send").

Some wait_until_sent versions require the big
tty mutex, others don't and some callers of
wait_until_sent already hold it while other don't.
That leads to recursive use of the BTM in these
functions, which we're trying to get rid of.
This turns all cleans up the locking there so
that the driver's wait_until_sent function
never takes the BTM itself if it is already
called with that lock held.

Move termios initialization in open into uart_dtr_rts to make sure
it always gets called when necessary. Based on a suggestion from
Alan Cox.
Alan writes:
Ok this sort of makes sense. Something isn't getting initialised and both
getty and minicom will do a termios set which is sorting it out.
This is occurring because the generic block_til_ready sets
ASYNCB_NORMAL_ACTIVE so the termios updating gets skipped.
This patch should cure it and then we can think about doing it more
elegantly by getting the serial layer to use tty_port_open, kfifo and
the like and removing the tons of repeated crap in all the drivers.

The mrst_max3110 driver had a set of unsafe wakeup sequences
along the following line:
if (!atomic_read(&foo)) {
atomic_set(&foo, 1);
wake_up(worker_thread);
}
and the worker thread would do
if (atomic_read(&foo)) {
do_work();
atomic_set(&foo, 0);
}
which can result in various missed wakups due to test-then-set races,
as well as due to clear-after-work instead of clear-before-work.
This patch fixes these races by using the proper bit test-and-set operations,
and by doing clear-before-work.

achieve a higher precision for high baud rates in general. This is done by

This patch moves SPARC architecture specific data members out of
struct of_device and into the pdev_archdata structure. The reason
for this change is to unify the struct of_device definition amongst
all the architectures. It also remvoes the .sysdata, .slot, .portid
and .clock_freq properties because they aren't actually used by
anything.
A subsequent patch will replace struct of_device entirely with struct
platform_device and the of_platform support code will share common
routines with the platform bus (but the bus instances themselves can
remain separate).
This patch also adds 'struct resources *resource' and num_resources
to match the fields defined in struct platform_device. After this
change, 'struct platform_device' can be used as a drop-in replacement
for 'struct of_platform'.
This change is in preparation for merging the of_platform_bus_type
with the platform_bus_type.

Don't take the port spinlock in uart functions where the serial core
already takes care of locking/unlocking them.
The code would actually lock up on architectures where spinlocks are
implemented (not the case on nios2 where this driver is primarily used

Also protect calling altera_uart_rx_chars/altera_uart_tx_chars in the

Grant patches added an of mach table to struct device_driver. However,
while he changed the macio device code to use that, he left the match
table pointer in struct macio_driver and didn't update drivers to use
the "new" one, thus breaking the probing.
This completes the change by moving all drivers to setup the "new"
one, removing all traces of the old one, and while at it (since it
changes the exact same locations), I also remove two other duplicates
from struct driver which are the name and owner fields.

.name, .match_table and .owner are duplicated in both of_platform_driver

of_platform_driver and converts all users to the device_driver members.
This patch is a pretty mechanical change. The usage model doesn't change
and if any drivers have been missed, or if anything has been fixed up
incorrectly, then it will fail with a compile time error, and the fixup
will be trivial. This patch looks big and scary because it touches so
many files, but it should be pretty safe.

Fix a problem in early versions of the FPGA IP.
In certain situations the IP reports that the FIFO is empty, but a byte is
still clocked out. If a flush is done at that point the currently clocked
byte is canceled.
This causes incompatibilities with the upper layers when a port is closed,
it waits until the FIFO is empty and then closes the port. During close
the FIFO is flushed -> the last byte is not sent properly.
Now the FIFO is only flushed if it is reported to be non-empty. Which
makes the currently clocked out byte to finish.

This patch adds in the kdb PS/2 keyboard driver. This was mostly a
direct port from the original kdb where I cleaned up the code against
checkpatch.pl and added the glue to stitch it into kgdb.
This patch also enables early kdb debug via kgdbwait and the keyboard.
All the access to configure kdb using either a serial console or the
keyboard is done via kgdboc.
If you want to use only the keyboard and want to break in early you
would add to your kernel command arguments:
kgdboc=kbd kgdbwait
If you wanted serial and or the keyboard access you could use:
kgdboc=kbd,ttyS0
You can also configure kgdboc as a kernel module or at run time with
the sysfs where you can activate and deactivate kgdb.
Turn it on:
echo kbd,ttyS0 > /sys/module/kgdboc/parameters/kgdboc
Turn it off:
echo "" > /sys/module/kgdboc/parameters/kgdboc

The design of the kdb shell requires that every device that can
provide input to kdb have a polling routine that exits immediately if
there is no character available. This is required in order to get the
page scrolling mechanism working.
Changing the kernel debugger I/O API to require all polling character
routines to exit immediately if there is no data allows the kernel
debugger to process multiple input channels.
NO_POLL_CHAR will be the return code to the polling routine when ever
there is no character available.

The imx CTS trigger level is left at its reset value that is 32
chars. Since the RX FIFO has 32 entries, when CTS is raised, the
FIFO already is full. However, some serial port devices first empty
their TX FIFO before stopping when CTS is raised, resulting in lost
chars.
This patch sets the trigger level lower so that other chars arrive
after CTS is raised, there is still room for 16 of them.

dev_node_t was only used to transport some minor/major numbers
from the PCMCIA device drivers to deprecated userspace helpers.
However, only a few drivers made use of it, and the userspace
helpers are deprecated anyways. Therefore, get rid of dev_node_t .
As a first step, remove any usage of dev_node_t from drivers which
only wrote to this typedef/struct, but did not make use of it.

Instead of the old pcmcia_request_irq() interface, drivers may now
choose between:
- calling request_irq/free_irq directly. Use the IRQ from *p_dev->irq.
- use pcmcia_request_irq(p_dev, handler_t); the PCMCIA core will
clean up automatically on calls to pcmcia_disable_device() or
device ejection.
- drivers still not capable of IRQF_SHARED (or not telling us so) may
use the deprecated pcmcia_request_exclusive_irq() for the time
being; they might receive a shared IRQ nonetheless.

percpu.h is included by sched.h and module.h and thus ends up being
included when building most .c files. percpu.h includes slab.h which
in turn includes gfp.h making everything defined by the two files
universally available and complicating inclusion dependencies.
percpu.h -> slab.h dependency is about to be removed. Prepare for
this change by updating users of gfp and slab facilities include those
headers directly instead of assuming availability. As this conversion
needs to touch large number of source files, the following script is
used as the basis of conversion.
http://userweb.kernel.org/~tj/misc/slabh-sweep.py
The script does the followings.
* Scan files for gfp and slab usages and update includes such that
only the necessary includes are there. ie. if only gfp is used,
gfp.h, if slab is used, slab.h.
* When the script inserts a new include, it looks at the include
blocks and try to put the new include such that its order conforms
to its surrounding. It's put in the include block which contains
core kernel includes, in the same order that the rest are ordered -
alphabetical, Christmas tree, rev-Xmas-tree or at the end if there
doesn't seem to be any matching order.
* If the script can't find a place to put a new include (mostly
because the file doesn't have fitting include block), it prints out
an error message indicating which .h file needs to be added to the
file.
The conversion was done in the following steps.
1. The initial automatic conversion of all .c files updated slightly
over 4000 files, deleting around 700 includes and adding ~480 gfp.h
and ~3000 slab.h inclusions. The script emitted errors for ~400
files.
2. Each error was manually checked. Some didn't need the inclusion,
some needed manual addition while adding it to implementation .h or
embedding .c file was more appropriate for others. This step added
inclusions to around 150 files.
3. The script was run again and the output was compared to the edits
from #2 to make sure no file was left behind.
4. Several build tests were done and a couple of problems were fixed.
e.g. lib/decompress_*.c used malloc/free() wrappers around slab
APIs requiring slab.h to be added manually.
5. The script was run on all .h files but without automatically
editing them as sprinkling gfp.h and slab.h inclusions around .h
files could easily lead to inclusion dependency hell. Most gfp.h
inclusion directives were ignored as stuff from gfp.h was usually
wildly available and often used in preprocessor macros. Each
slab.h inclusion directive was examined and added manually as
necessary.
6. percpu.h was updated not to include slab.h.
7. Build test were done on the following configurations and failures
were fixed. CONFIG_GCOV_KERNEL was turned off for all tests (as my
distributed build env didn't work with gcov compiles) and a few
more options had to be turned off depending on archs to make things
build (like ipr on powerpc/64 which failed due to missing writeq).
* x86 and x86_64 UP and SMP allmodconfig and a custom test config.
* powerpc and powerpc64 SMP allmodconfig
* sparc and sparc64 SMP allmodconfig
* ia64 SMP allmodconfig
* s390 SMP allmodconfig
* alpha SMP allmodconfig
* um on x86_64 SMP allmodconfig
8. percpu.h modifications were reverted so that it could be applied as
a separate patch and serve as bisection point.
Given the fact that I had only a couple of failures from tests on step
6, I'm fairly confident about the coverage of this conversion patch.
If there is a breakage, it's likely to be something in one of the arch
headers which should be easily discoverable easily on most builds of
the specific arch.

The of_iounmap is at the out_unmap label, but at that point up has already
been freed. The free cannot be moved to the out_unmap label, because that
label is reachable from cases where up should not be freed. So the call to
of_iounmap is just duplicated, and the goto converted to a return.

This fixes up some of the I/D/F clock ambiguity in the sh-sci driver.
The interface clock in most cases just wraps back to the peripheral
clock, while the function clock wraps in to the MSTP bits. As the logic
was somewhat inverted, this cleans that up, and also enables all CPUs
with SCI MSTP bits to match function clocks through clkdev lookup.
As a result, this gets rid of the clk string abuse on the sh side, and
the clock string will be killed off once the ARM code has had a chance to
sync up. This also enables MSTP gating on CPUs like 7786 which had never
wired it up before. Impacted CPUs are primarily all SH-Mobiles, SH7785,
and SH7786.

This patch just fixes the code flow to abort the load when an
error is detected.

If jsm fails to load, then remove the uart stuff, otherwise,
the things (as files), will be there forever (even when the module
is unloaded). If you try to reload the module, the following message
appears:
kobject_add_internal failed for ttyn1 with -EEXIST, don't try to
register things with the same name in the same directory.
This patch remove the uart things when the driver fails.

MFD_TIMBERDALE doesn't appear to be defined anywhere. However the code in
question can build happily without platform specifics so remove the check

If we always check for gdb breaks even when it isn't active, we get false
positives on normal code and the system panics.

If we don't disable the DMA TX channel, an inopportune timeout will
trigger the interrupt handler and may cause a dead lock with the spin_lock.
