Logan Chien 86b52aec24 Build a single GSI for O-MR1-VENDOR and Master-VENDOR
The objective of this commit is to support these 3 combinations:

1. Master-GSI + Master-VENDOR (w/ BOARD_VNDK_VERSION)
2. Master-GSI + Master-VENDOR (w/o BOARD_VNDK_VERSION for upgrading devices)
3. Master-GSI + O-MR1-VENDOR (w/ BOARD_VNDK_VERSION)

This commit defines a new property `ro.vndk.lite` to indicate the status
of BOARD_VNDK_VERSION run-time enforcement. Now, all devices should
have `ro.vndk.version` so that `libhidlbase.so`, `libRSCpuRef.so`, and
`libnativeloader.so` can find the versioned VNDK directory.

find .... -name oem\*.prop

Kati can't emulate this command -- it can't currently handle backslashes
in the middle of an argument, only at the beginning or end. So this
falls back to actually calling find, which can take a few seconds if
you've got a large vendor tree. Just switch all of these over to quoted
arguments instead of escaping the *.

Bryan Henry 2a40cc6996 Support regenerating partition table with bpttool in sign_target_files_apks
For Android Things targets (or any other target which has
BOARD_BPT_INPUT_FILES defined), add_img_to_target_files will generate a
partition-table.img using bpttool. It also adds the final combined .bpt
definition file into target-files in IMAGES/partition-table.bpt.

When we're signing using sign_target_files_apks, add_img_to_target_files
needs to regenerate the partition table, but META/misc_info.txt still
contains the original list of bpt input files from the build that aren't
available. This change extracts the final bpt from the input
target-files, adds it to META/ in the output target-files, and then
updates the board_bpt_input_files property to point to it.

Patrick Tjin 3f5f9934e9 build_image: default extfs reserved size to 0 on RO partitions.
Defaults the reserved blocks for root to 0% on read only partitions
(system, system_other, vendor, oem). It also adds support for
explicitly specifying the extfs reserved percentage via
BOARD_{SYSTEM,VENDOR,OEM,PRODUCT}IMAGE_EXTFS_RSV_PCT.

This eventually translates down to the -m option for mkfs.

Removing the reserved space can save at least 5% from the default.

Ivan Podogov 205a970594 Add vendor properties blacklist
This change allows removing some vendor properties from
(vendor|system/vendor)/build.prop file based on a blacklist.

For WearOS Unified Builds, which can change the product name depending on
the chosen locale, we use runtime-generated value for ro.build.fingerprint,
but since the ro.vendor.build.fingerprint cannot be generated the same way,
we always hit a "Mismatched fingerprints" error.

It was initially introduced in commit
2e735ca34e, where it packs additional
vendor images into target_files zip in order to generate OTAs. We can
acheive the same goal with INSTALLED_RADIOIMAGE_TARGET, which is the way
being actively used across all targets, including IoT (the former

Tao Bao b4ec6d752a Remove the hard-coded path of build_verity_metadata.py.
build_image.py used to invoke build_verity_metadata.py with a hard-coded
path of 'system/extras/verity/build_verity_metadata.py', which makes it
hard to run unittests from non-$(ANDROID_BUILD_TOP) directory.

This CL adds the dependency on the tool, so that it gets installed to
$(HOST_OUT_EXECUTABLES), then removes the hard-coded path.

Tao Bao 2d2ce7dd02 Use bsdiff to generate recovery-from-boot.p for system-root-image.
This CL handles a path that uses system-root-image on non-A/B device.
For this path, we can't generate recovery-from-boot patch with imgdiff,
because boot/recovery images contain different number of entries (only
recovery iamge has ramdisk image now).

Using BOARD_USES_FULL_RECOVERY_IMAGE can work around the issue, at the
cost of extra size. Compared to carrying full recovery image, this CL
saves the cost of the kernel size, by putting a patch that's roughly the
size of the recovery ramdisk.

The applypatch executable already detects and handles a bsdiff patch
automatically. No change required to that end.

Note that it won't further reduce the patch size by handling that
ramdisk entry specially, because (a) that's the only difference between
the two images; and (b) there's no corresponding data in boot image to
be diff'd against.

Bug: 72731506
Test: `m dist` with aosp_angler-userdebug. Check the device can install

Tao Bao 4181f531c7 Conditionally generate META/boot_filesystem_config.txt.
if BOARD_BUILD_SYSTEM_ROOT_IMAGE != true:  # case A
  - BOOT/RAMDISK corresponds to the / under normal boot, with matching
    fs_config in META/boot_filesystem_config.txt.
  - RECOVERY/RAMDISK corresponds to the / under recovery, with fs_config
    in META/recovery_filesystem_config.txt.
else:
  if BOARD_USES_RECOVERY_AS_BOOT == true:  # case B

    - BOOT/RAMDISK corresponds to the / under recovery, with fs_config

    - RECOVERY/RAMDISK corresponds to the / under recovery, with fs_config

include a large fs_config output into target-files.zip.

Nan Zhang 0abdb5811d Use BUILD_NUMBER_FROM_FILE instead of BUILD_NUMBER in Make.
<Two phase commits> Since internal master code has more places that use
BUILD_NUMBER (mostly in vendor/) than AOSP (conflict). We can't
deprecate BUILD_NUMBER directly. Therefore, we try to switch to
BUILD_NUMBER_FROM_FILE as much as possible at first. Then we will do
a one-off deprecation for BUILD_NUMBER in internal master next step.

Dan Willemsen be0b6cee4f Replace $(shell find | sort) with $(sort $(shell find))
Kati's find emulator doesn't understand "| sort", so use use the make
function instead so that we can emulate the find commands.

before: *kati*: shell time (regen): 1.316989 / 187
after: *kati*: shell time (regen): 1.249748 / 184

The time has a lot of variance, the important change is the reduction in
number of shell commands. Kati has other issues with some of these (it
doesn't support find's implicit -a), which is why it only goes down by
3. I'll be fixing Kati separately to handle those cases.

David Zeuthen 8fecb289ee AVB: If building recovery.img, add AVB hash footer.
In some non-A/B setups, recovery.img is still being used. If AVB is
enabled, we currently don't add a hash footer to recovery.img nor do
we include the hash digest in vbmeta.img. This CL fixes that.

This was tested on a build with the following settings

 TARGET_NO_RECOVERY := false
 BOARD_USES_RECOVERY_AS_BOOT := false
 BOARD_BUILD_SYSTEM_ROOT_IMAGE := false
 BOARD_RECOVERYIMAGE_PARTITION_SIZE := 33554432
 BOARD_AVB_RECOVERY_ADD_HASH_FOOTER_ARGS := --prop foo:bar

and then it was verified using 'avbtool info_image' that recovery.img
has a hash footer and a 'foo' property with the value 'bar'. This was
also checked successfully for vbmeta.img.

Test: See above.

Bowgo Tsai 03b9c8e637 Reorder assert-max-image-size and AVB signing
This change fixes the following warning message:
  WARNING: out/target/product/$(TARGET_DEVICE)/boot.img approaching \
size limit (33554432 now; limit 33554432)

This is because AVB signing will increase boot.img to
BOARD_BOOTIMAGE_PARTITION_SIZE, in order to place the AVB metadata at
the end of the partition. We should check max image size first then use
avbtool to sign it.

The max allowed size will be (partition size - AVB_HASH_META_SIZE) when
AVB is enabled.

Note that some projects don't have BOARD_{BOOT,RECOVERY}IMAGE_PARTITION_SIZE,
we should skip assert-max-image-size for it.

Finally, this CL also fixes the build error for `make bootimage-nodeps`
when AVB is used.

Tao Bao c6a0e208ab Remove the redundant/wrong write of 'recovery_as_boot='.
The deleted lines contain a bug that only writes "recovery_as_boot="
into META/misc_info.txt when the value is empty. The issue has no real
impact though, because a) it's no-op for targets not using
BOARD_USES_RECOVERY_AS_BOOT (e.g. non-A/B targets); b) for targets with
BOARD_USES_RECOVERY_AS_BOOT := true, the value gets written correctly as
part of the call to 'generate-userimage-prop-dictionary'.

Test: `m dist` on aosp_bullhead-userdebug. The line is gone from

Jaekyun Seok f9af5fa6ab Install (vendor|system/vendor)/build.prop always
For now, vendor build properties are added into /system/build.prop
when property split isn't enabled.
So we have the duplicate codes to add them to /system/build.prop and
/vendor/build.prop case by case.

But either /vendor/build.prop or /system/vendor/build.prop can exist
always.
So this CL will install $(TARGET_OUT_VENDOR)/build.prop always and
remove the duplication.

Steven Moreland ec082650a1 Move ro.product.first_api_level to vendor/build.prop
Shipping API level is associated with the vendor image. When
a device ships in, say, O and is then run against the O-MR1
GSI image, the shipping API level is currently reported as
the shipping API level which the GSI was built with. This means
that various tests and control flows assume that the image
is the newest possible image. However, this is not the case.

Bowgo Tsai 6ceeb1a8bf Adding Android verified boot 1.0 metadata into ENG builds
Adding verified boot metadata with a "disable magic". The resulting
metadata at the end of each image (e.g., system.img, vendor.img) will
be the same as triggering an "adb disable-verity" on an USERDEBUG image.

This can help simplify the code on fs_mgr, which won't have to check if
current image is an ENG build or not.

Jiyong Park 4b61a94f70 Don't reserve size for bad blocks when checking image size
When checking *.img size with the partition size, the build system
reserves additional bits for spare bits and spare bad blocks.

However, for emmc and ufs, the space bits and blocks are entirely
managed by the underlying controller and thus not visible from outside
of the controller. In fact the check routine was made for legacy MTD
storages where raw flash blocks are directly exposed.

This makes the size checking a little bit conservative in modern devices.
Builds were failed even though the *.img can actually fit into the
partition. To handle this problem, the additional size is no longer
reserved when checking *.img size with the partition size.

This change also removes following build flags that are meaningful
only for devices having MTD storages:
BOARD_NAND_PAGE_SIZE
BOARD_NAND_SPARE_SIZE
Further use of them breaks the build
