Thomas Petazzoni 74d04c3efb sound: ASoC: add ASoC board driver for Armada 370 DB
This commit adds a simple ASoC board driver fo the Armada 370
Development Board, which connects the audio unit of the Armada 370 SoC
to the I2C-based CS42L51.

For now, only the analog audio input and output through the CS42L51
are supported, but a followup patch adds S/PDIF support to this
driver.

Linus Torvalds 14864a52cd sound fixes for 3.14-rc1
The big chunks here are the updates for oxygen driver for Xonar DG
devices, which were slipped from the previous pull request. They are
device-specific and thus not too dangerous.

Other than that, all patches are small bug fixes, mainly for Samsung
build fixes, a few HD-audio enhancements, and other misc ASoC fixes.
(And this time ASoC merge is less than Octopus, lucky seven :)

Linus Torvalds f2c73464d7 ARM: SoC cleanups for 3.14
This is the branch where we usually queue up cleanup efforts, moving
drivers out of the architecture directory, header file restructuring,
etc. Sometimes they tangle with new development so it's hard to keep it
 strictly to cleanups.

Some of the things included in this branch are:

 * Atmel SAMA5 conversion to common clock
 * Reset framework conversion for tegra platforms
  - Some of this depends on tegra clock driver reworks that are shared with Mike
    Turquette's clk tree.
 * Tegra DMA refactoring, which are shared branches with the DMA tree.
 * Removal of some header files on exynos to prepare for multiplatform

Nicolin Chen 43d24e76b6 ASoC: fsl_esai: Add ESAI CPU DAI driver
This patch implements a device-tree-only CPU DAI driver for Freescale ESAI
controller that supports:

 - 12 channels playback and 8 channels record.
[ Some of the inner transmitters and receivers are sharing same group of
pins. So the maxmium 12 output or 8 input channels are only valid if
there is no pin conflict occurring to it. ]

 - Independent (asynchronous mode) or shared (synchronous mode) transmit and
receive sections with separate or shared internal/external clocks and frame
syncs, operating in Master or Slave mode.
[ Current ALSA seems not to allow CPU DAI drivers to configure DAI format
separately for PLAYBACK and CAPTURE. So this first version only supports
the case that uses the same DAI format for both directions. ]

 - Various DAI formats: I2S, Left-Justified, Right-Justified, DSP-A and DSP-B.

 - Programmable word length (8, 16, 20 or 24bits)

 - Flexible selection between system clock or external oscillator as input
clock source, programmable internal clock divider and frame sync generation.

This patch depends on "ASoC: tegra: use reset framework" to compile,
which is ack'd and slated to go through a (large) topic branch in the
Tegra tree. So, we can either:

a) Merge that Tegra topic branch into the ASoC tree, then apply this.
Note that I haven't created the topic branch yet, since I'm still
waiting for DMA dependencies to be applied.

b) Apply this change to the Tegra tree too. This change isn't directly
related to the changes in the Tegra tree; it just makes use of the new
reset controller feature that's introduced there.

The IP in DRA7xx is similar to the IP found in TI81xxAM3xxx/AM4xxx type of
SoCs but it is is integrated with sDMA instead of eDMA. The suitable pcm
driver for DRA7xx is the omap-pcm driver which is using dmaengine.
In the driver we can configure both dma related structures used for eDMA and
sDMA. The only thing we need to make sure that we set the correct dma_data
at startup with snd_soc_dai_set_dma_data()

Thomas Petazzoni d098b2f0cf ASoC: kirkwood: change the compatible string of the kirkwood-i2s driver
The compatible string of the kirkwood-i2s driver was chosen as
"marvell,mvebu-audio". Using such a compatible string is not a good
idea, since "mvebu" is the name of a large family of SOCs, in which
new, unknown SOCs will be coming in the future. It is therefore
impossible to know what will be evolutions of this hardware block in
the next generations of the SOCs. For this reason, the recommandation
for compatible strings of on-SOCs devices has always been to use the
name of the oldest SOC that has the hardware block. New SOCs that have
an exactly compatible hardware block can reference it using the same
compatible string. See [1], [2] and [3] for various cases were this
suggestion was made, including from Rob Herring, a Device Tree binding
maintainer.

As an example, there are already small differences between current
generations:

 * On Kirkwood, only one interrupt is used for audio.
 * On Dove, two interrupts are used, one for audio data and one for
   error reporting.

In the near future, I'll be adding audio support to Armada 370, which
allows has the same hardware block (but maybe with minor variants).

Therefore, this patch changes the driver to accept
"marvell,kirkwood-audio" and "marvell,dove-audio" as compatible
strings instead of the too-generic "marvell,mvebu-audio". The reason
for the two different compatible strings is the difference in the
number of interrupts used by the two SOCs for audio.

This Device Tree binding has never been part of a Linux kernel stable
release so far, so it can be changed now without breaking backward
compatibility.

Daniel Mack 2352d4bf43 ASoC: adau1701: allow configuration of PLL mode pins
The ADAU1701 has 2 hardware pins to configure the PLL mode in accordance
to the MCLK-to-LRCLK ratio. These pins have to be stable before the chip
is released from reset, and a full reset cycle, including a new firmware
download is needed whenever they change.

This patch adds GPIO properties to the DT bindings of the Codec, and
implements makes the set_sysclk memorize the configured sysclk.

Because the run-time parameters are unknown at probe time, the first
firmware download is postponed to the first hw_params call, when the
driver can determine the mclk/lrclk divider. Subsequent downloads
are only issued when the divider configuration changes.

The TAS5086 has two alternative modes to start its PWM channels, Mid-Z

connected to the TAS5086.

This patch adds 6 optional boolean properties to the DT bindings of the

Linus Torvalds d7ab7302f9 For 3.10 we have a few new MFD drivers for:
- The ChromeOS embedded controller which provides keyboard, battery and power
management services. This controller is accessible through i2c or SPI.

 - Silicon Laboratories 476x controller, providing access to their FM chipset
   and their audio codec.

 - Realtek's RTS5249, a memory stick, MMC and SD/SDIO PCI based reader.

 - Nokia's Tahvo power button and watchdog device. This device is very similar
to Retu and is thus supported by the same code base.

 - STMicroelectronics STMPE1801, a keyboard and GPIO controller supported by
   the stmpe driver.

 - ST-Ericsson AB8540 and AB8505 power management and voltage converter
controllers through the existing ab8500 code.

Some other drivers got cleaned up or improved. In particular:

 - The Linaro/STE guys got the ab8500 driver in sync with their internal code
through a series of optimizations, fixes and improvements.

 - The AS3711 and OMAP USB drivers now have DT support.

 - The arizona clock and interrupt handling code got improved.

 - The wm5102 register patch and boot mechanism also got improved.

Pull MFD update from Samuel Ortiz:
"For 3.10 we have a few new MFD drivers for:

   - The ChromeOS embedded controller which provides keyboard, battery
and power management services. This controller is accessible
     through i2c or SPI.

   - Silicon Laboratories 476x controller, providing access to their FM
     chipset and their audio codec.

   - Realtek's RTS5249, a memory stick, MMC and SD/SDIO PCI based
     reader.

   - Nokia's Tahvo power button and watchdog device. This device is
very similar to Retu and is thus supported by the same code base.

   - STMicroelectronics STMPE1801, a keyboard and GPIO controller
     supported by the stmpe driver.

   - ST-Ericsson AB8540 and AB8505 power management and voltage
converter controllers through the existing ab8500 code.

Some other drivers got cleaned up or improved. In particular:

   - The Linaro/STE guys got the ab8500 driver in sync with their
internal code through a series of optimizations, fixes and
     improvements.

   - The AS3711 and OMAP USB drivers now have DT support.

   - The arizona clock and interrupt handling code got improved.

   - The wm5102 register patch and boot mechanism also got improved."

Stephen Warren 95d3607569 ASoC: tegra: add Tegra114 support to the AHUB driver
Tegra114's AHUB shares a design with Tegra30, with the followin changes:
* Supports more (10 vs. 4) bi-directional FIFO channels into RAM.
* Requires a separate block of registers to support the above.
* Supports more attached clients, i.e. new audio multiplexing and
  de-multiplexing modules.
* Is affected by more clocks due to the above.

This change fully defines the device tree binding changes required to
represent these changes, and minimally extends the driver to support
the new hardware, without exposing any of the new FIFO channels.

Daniel Mack 4fa89346fb ALSA: ASoC: add codec driver for TI TAS5086
This patch adds a driver for TI's TA5086 6-channel PWM processor.

This chip has a very unusual register layout, specifically because the
registers are of unequal size, and multi-byte registers require bulk
writes to take effect. Regmap does not support these kind of mappings.

Currently, the driver does not touch any of the registers >= 0x20, so
it doesn't matter, because the register map is mapped to an 8-bit array.
In case more features will be added in the future that require access
to higher registers, the entire regmap H/W I/O routines have to be
open-coded.

Hebbar Gururaja e2e8bfdf61 ASoC: tlv320aic3x: Convert mic bias to a supply widget
Convert MicBias widgets to supply widget.

On tlv320aic3x, Mic bias power on/off shares the same register bits
with output mic bias voltage. So, when power on mic bias, we need
reclaim it to voltage value.

Provide a new platform data so that the micbias voltage can be sent
according to board requirement. Now since tlv320aic3x codec driver
is DT aware, update dt files and functions to handle this new
"micbias-vg" platform data.

Because of sharing of bits, when enabling the micbias, voltage also
needs to be updated. So use SND_SOC_DAPM_POST_PMU & SND_SOC_DAPM_PRE_PMD
macro to create an event to handle this.

Since micbias is converted to supply widget, updated machine drivers as
well.

This change is runtime tested on da850-evm with audio loopback
(arecord|aplay) for confirmation.

Stephen Warren 07cdf36d8c ASoC: Tegra+WM8903 machine: Add device tree binding
This driver is parameterized in two ways:

a) Platform data, which supplies the set of GPIOs used by the driver.
These GPIOs can now be parsed out of device tree.

b) Machine-specific DAPM route arrays embedded into the ASoC machine
driver itself. Historically, the driver picks the appropriate array
to use using machine_is_*(). The driver now requires this array to
be parsed from device tree when instantiated through device tree,
using the core ASoC support for this parsing.

Based on work by John Bonesio, but significantly reworked since then.
